We love this place so much! We discovered it about 10 years ago and everytime we do a quick weekend visit from Seattle we go here. Delicious food, amazing and fun staff and such a chill atmosphere.
I took my 70 year old parents and my toddler on a Friday night to Pizza Italia. We called ahead and they were able to accommodate us with little wait time. Prices were amazing for the quality and portion of the food. I was afraid the wooden chairs might be a point of contention but my parents didn’t mind them because the atmosphere is so cozy. They are already asking to go back the next time they come to town. An all around hit!!
Went here for a work dinner. On a small quiet street with plenty of parking for a Saturday night. It was the day after Halloween. The homie recommended this place as it is his Sunday futbol bar. Lots of soccer memorabilia all over. The Bruschetta was divine. My main course was the special seasonal pumpkin ravioli and I really enjoyed it! Ravioli wasn't on the menu but I asked. The cheesecake was nice as well. The service was fine. Its a small place that gets busy so you're not gonna get your food in a minute. But it comes out fresh and the waiters are super nice and professional. The atmosphere was unique because even though its a soccer bar/Italian restaurant, I was there watching the Dodgers World Series game 7. So I was really stressed out and loud. Everybody was cool with it. I would highly recommend this place for dinner. Its a great place for a date.
This place was pretty nice. Atmosphere, great, very traditional and cozy. Food, overall, cannot complain. It was decently good Italian food. Authenticity - seems like a family run restaurant, has that vibe. We’d definitely eat here again, can recommend it for anyone seeking Italian night out. Definitely try to get a reservation though. We arrived early without a reservation and had slim options for a table
The food here is absolutely fantastic! The meatballs are a standout—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Great portion sizes, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Our server, Rob, was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place!
Piazza Italia is one of my absolute favorite Italian restaurants in Portland. Their Insalata Caprese is hands-down the best Ive had anywhere in the Portland, flavorful, consistently tasty. The mozzarella? Always the right texture and temperature. I order the same thing every time: Insalata Caprese + rigatoni bolognese. And it never disappoints! The pasta is cooked to perfection. The sauce? Rich, hearty, and full of flavor. (portion size could be better) C'mon ... it's pasta... This is a restaurant that knows what they're doing and does it well. Now for the one (ongoing) issue: Where is the bread? I usually place my orders on DoorDash, and whether or not I receive bread is always a toss-up. Sometimes it's there. Often, it's not. And thats honestly disappointing.... especially when Im spending close to $40 per person. I know prices have gone up. Thats expected. But bread is inexpensive, and when I dine in, I receive it automatically. There is really no reason that takeout customers shouldn't receive bread. Especially considering the price point. My 7-year-old son asks, Wheres the bread?? It's my fav..... Nogo this time.... Ughhhh he says! So no I'm not deducting a star. Because the food is that good. But I am asking, again, as a loyal customer: PLEASE include the bread. It completes the meal. And honestly? It's just the right thing to do. Tighten up and..... a caesar salad would be a great addition to your menu.
Loved everything about it! I didn't have reservations and got in by luck. It would seem having a reservation is the safest bet, as this restaurant is fairly small and was completely full when I left. Other comments about the service seem off base. I was seated promptly and my starters order was quickly brought to the table. Likewise for those seated around me in other parties. For dinner I had the handmade chicken Raviolli which was delightful. The quality of the food was great, and prices were very moderate, an overall great value. Will be back.
Piazza Italia is the pearl of the Pearl District. I lived near Piazza Italia for 7 months, and I never had a bad meal here. I came to eat here at least once a week. The lasagna was my go-to dish, and the specials are a must try. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, and theirs is amazing. I truly miss this place and the staff already. If I'm ever in Portland again, I will be running here to eat again.
Amazing service at a value. You walk in and it’s as if you stepped into your favorite local bistro in Italy. This is an authentic Italian, tasty, affordable restaurant with fabulous food and classic Italian service, and a beautiful wine selection. Friendly, clean, and happy environment with football represented everywhere. Annually, they put on a Truffle Dinner with a guest chef from Italy who brings black truffles for the meal. Special event with special people.
My friend and I went here on our trip to Oregon a couple years ago and I still cannot stop thinking about their food. I ordered the special ravioli (so amazing I licked my plate clean). We also got the bruschetta for an app. My only regret was not trying the tiramisu. The server was very kind and the atmosphere is very chill and easy going. I will definitely be back here on my next trip!
08/06/2017 We savored squid ink spaghetti and bolognese during our dining experience. Despite arriving right at the opening time, the restaurant was already packed. We were seated outside, and despite that, it provided a cozy atmosphere for us, making it a delightful anniversary evening. 01/28/2024 Having been impressed during our previous visit, we returned after a long time. We ordered Spaghetti Mare E Monti and Pasta al Tonno, enjoyed with Nebbiolo Pinot Noir🍷 and Sparkling Orange Spirit. Both dishes were equally delicious. The Tonno stood out with its distinctive savory aroma. Although already full, the pleasant ambiance prompted us to indulge in tiramisu with espresso.☕
Let's start with. This place is AMAZING! Secondly make reservations! Finally arrive hungry. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in downtown pdx. Amazing flavors. Close to authentic as you can get. Absolutely great atmosphere to hangout and eat with friends and family. The menu is simple. Not cluttered with boring items. People tend to spend about an hour here. Service is down right amazing. You're treated as part of the family. We make it a point to come here and have dinner when we visit Portland. Truly amazing.
Looking for a last minute late night meal and we stumbled on this place. Was hoping for some pizza, but this place does not serve pizza. However, we were pleased with the pasta that we ordered. The food tasted authentic and fresh. We wanted to order the bruschetta appetizer, but because we arrived so late they were already out for the evening. The server we had was funny and a pleasure, but he was managing multiple tables, so the service was on the slower side. I would recommend this place, but make sure to arrive early so that you don’t miss out on any of the ingredients as they might run out. I would definitely eat here again. 👍🏼
Unless you’re a regular here, do not expect to get good service. This was the first time we’ve been here since before the pandemic. Service used to be a lot better. Happy to declare that the food is still good. Maybe order take out? (Although based on some reviews here, they can be quite neglectful with fulfilling to go orders too). Next time I am craving Italian, I’ll be checking out another restaurant instead.
