I got the Tommy Boy burger and it was great! I upgraded to the Pub Fries that were good, but a bit dry so I asked for a dipping sauce which is just what they needed. I’ll definitely be back!

Had the smashed pub burger and sweet potato fries and half pub salad, food was absolutely delicious and our waiter was very nice and had our order out in no time, haven’t been here since it was formerly the bad apple pub but honestly this place is really great so 5/5 ⭐️

Staff is amazing and friendly! They go out of their way to socialize and make every customer feel like a regular!!

My wife and I went to the Pub tonight and had an amazing time! Fried pickles were crispy and had a ton of flavor! Our drinks never went dry and our server “Mac” had an awesome, fun personality and was amazing! Live music on the patio wasn’t too loud. Great place to spend the evening!

Great food and cold beers Update: After multiple visit to the Pub and several other restaurants in the MT Vernon area its my opinion the Pub has the best food in town. A little over priced but what isn't now adays. Highly recommend

We were very glad we stopped here. I'm not a "bar" person. But we were leaving Mount Vernon late on a Friday night and no where else was open. The place looked packed, but we were seated right away. It didn't take long to be waited on, and the food came quickly. I had the Fish Tacos and my wife had the Cali Chicken Sandwich. Both were hot and had good flavor. This is a bar, so there was live music. The music was loud and not my style, but it was in tune and well played so I didn't mind. There was a good mix of people of all ages, and most people seemed to be there to eat, rather than get drunk. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I celebrated our 20 year wedding anniversary last weekend at the Pub. We talked to the owner ahead of time and reserved the entire dining room for our party of around 40 people. The staff went above and beyond our expectations! We just wanted something simple and casual so we could relax and celebrate with our close friends and family. Monica and Boke decorated the dining room without me even asking. It was beautiful and classy. Our servers were Maddy and Justin and our service was exceptional! Nick, the bartender was awesome too. He makes very tasty mixed drinks and has such a fun personality! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. We will definitely be frequenting this place and I’m sure we will make many more awesome memories at The Pub!

On Saturday, my best friend from high school and I met up to celebrate our birthdays. Howard was about halfway between us, so we chose The Pub, and I'm glad we did. It opens at 11:30, and I got there around 11:15. There were already a few people waiting, as Ohio State had a noon game that day. Inside, the dining area and bar was very clean. There are tons of screens to watch the games, and everyone was having a good time. Our server was named Kaya, and she did a great job. She met that sweet spot between making sure we had everything we needed but without being obnoxious. The manager was Connie, and she was constantly checking with the customers and staff to make sure everything was going smoothly. The food was very good, especially the pizza and nachos. I'd highly recommend The Pub for family and friends, and it's definitely a safe place for the kids too.

We had a family celebration at The Pub and from the time we made a reservation to the end of our meal we had a wonderful experience. Connie the manager was warm and welcoming - she checked on us throughout our meal (we had 16 people), our waiter, Pistol was very friendly and attentive. All of our food was hot and delicious! Thanks for making our family event memorable!

Sasha is an excellent server! Our food was spot on and she checked regularly with us. She has a great personality as well! We will ask for her next time. Connie (manager) is top notch as well!

Got the Tommy Boy burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. Live band and good atmosphere. A bit of a wait for tables when it looked like there was room, but I understand it is also based on their staffing too. I'll be back when I'm in the area!

Stopped for lunch while visiting AV. Casual, friendly vibe. We had the Walleye. Excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive while being very busy! We are definitely going back. Prices were good.

The service and food are excellent. Our family loves the Mac and Cheese entrees that are offered in three different styles. They cocktails are nice and reasonably priced.The dining area and restrooms are clean and well maintained. There is a nice enclosed patio with a stage for live performances on weekends. The front porch allows you to sit with your furry friends.

Excellent burgers, cooked to order. Waitress was very nice, knowledgeable about the menu and polite. Continually checked up on us to make sure everything was tasting alright and drinks were good. Fries weren't that great, but I've had their apple slaw and would recommend that as a side all day. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on revisiting as often as possible. The hot wing challenge was pretty rough, the wings were very good, but the challenge is not for the faint of heart. haha. Also, there is a small dining area separate from the bar area & outdoor patio seating, which is great on the warm days!

Bass player for the Mark Pac band here (callinaw rednecks). Played a music gig at the Bad Apple Friday. We were outside on their huge rear deck in beautiful weather. Theres an out side bar or stay seated and one of their fast and efficient waitresses will serve you. A great crowd of friendly people and staff. We had a ball. Stop by for ice cold beer and live music by the best bands around.

First time I've been in since the new owners have been operating. The decor is impressive. Great for Apple Valley people, a little much for the regular every day, folk. The food was amazing! I was impressed with the Chili cheese fries and nachos. My son had a burger with Kielbasa in it, and wow! So good! We will be back for the live music! I will ask for a different server as her personality was awful. Lucky for us, she is going back to college. That was our only complaint. The manager came and checked on us.. nice touch. Go in and check them out. I'd recommend calling ahead on late afternoon and evenings.

I will preface with, I dont know the market price of walleye. This fish is amazing. So perfect. I just wish you got more for the price. The pub fries were okay, but the slaw slaps!

We stopped here on our way home after a day of skiing. We ordered the smash burgers which were very good. The service was very good and we will definitely be back.

UPDATE 11/20: we got the Buffalo chicken pizza for take out and it was not good. It’s disappointing. We knew we loved it so much before but this was not great. We asked for no blue cheese and no celery and it looked and tasted like Buffalo chicken nuggets on a cheese pizza… 09/25: Wow. The food was delicious and service was excellent! I didn’t have high hopes due to some locals saying the price for the quality didn’t match but I have come to disagree! I thought it was right on point! Stein is a great comparison but honestly I thought this was better! So so good.

For better service get a table. I sat at bar since I was by myself. Bar wasn't busy , but seemed to be pre occupied. Food was basic but received it quickly. Signage on business considerably small for sitting back off the road. GPS saved. Seemed clean and well staffed. Will give it a try again in the future.

Way over priced! I was certainly not expecting the prices considering it's name, The Pub. Kids menu was very limited. Or waitress did a very good job though. My 6 yr old grandson wanted fish and there was only an adult portion of fish and chips, so we shared it. We both ordered ice tea. He was charged for an adult tea, but it came in a kids cup. Our bill for the fish and chips plus two ice tea came to $28.28...... one meal, two teas. Sadly, we won't go back. It wasn't that special.

The food was excellent. The service was subpar. It wasn't very busy and the staff was not very attentive. I had to ask for a water refill and my friend was not even offered one when they went to fetch mine. We shared the refill in the new glass that I received.

Ok, here is an honest review. Disappointing. The med peperoni and sausage was way overpriced for the taste, and we waited 10 min just to order drinks because the MANAGER didn't notify the server that he sat us out on the patio. Other than that, it was a beautiful evening. I'm not sure if I'll be back, which is a shame because the Pup has potential. I do recommend the Cali chicken sandwich, it was actually very tasty.

We ordered take out pizza. The thin crust was chewed, but much better when reheated the next day. I can't wait to try some of their other options.

Ordered take out tonight, and are extremely disappointed. I ordered a salad, it came with no dressing and about 5 bites of meat. My husband ordered a burger & it was cold. Very disappointed & won’t be back.

Junk. Overpriced, barely get any food/small portions (I got literally about a dozen fries with my fish and chip, food did not seem fresh. Waitress also forgot my beer... Avoid at all costs. Better experience going to Wendy's

Nice furnishings and the live entertainment was excellent. The food marginally good but very expensive for what we received. The fish taco appetizer was good but $15.00 for an appetizer of this quality is ridiculous. Burgers were good but with a couple additions of bacon and a different bun and pub fries my meal was nearly $23. That’s a very expensive burger and fries. I would not recommend this place. Not a surprise that is was 3/4 empty on a beautiful Friday night.

Food was great, service (our server) was great as well! However the atmosphere was terrible. There was a table of drunk women (old enough to know better) disturbing the entire side of the pub and then some. And there were customers, us included, disturbed by them. They were EXTREMELY loud, obnoxious and rude, pounding the table hollering- using profanity- you name it. We expected to sit down and have a peaceful, relaxing dinner but that just wasn't gonna happen for anyone there. I couldn't even hear our server when he tried to greet us. My husband used the restroom on the other side of the building and could hear them hollering from there. We couldn't wait to get out of there. And not one employee said a word to them... People pay for an experience and that was an awful one! Please do better.

Big city restaurant prices for small town bar grade food masquerading as upscale fare but hey, it's the only game in town. There must be an issue getting people to work which is not helping with some of the staff's attitude.

Atmosphere was enjoyable. Everyone super nice. Great french fries. Burger was wildly bland. Most flavor was from pickle. Pie Mac was confusing?? Pico de gallo, sausage, and cheese. Cheese sauce had zero flavor. At all. Sausage was meh at best. Pico shouldn’t have been on there. Worst part was that the food for our two year old came out PIPING hot. Like straight from the frier. Took 10 minutes to cool down.

I was the only one. Fries came out cold never hard. I believe they have it dark in there so u dont see what ur food really looks like. Nasty.

Placed our order as 1 of 2 tables in the bar area. An hour later a friend asked at the bar where our food was. My wife's dinner showed up 15 minutes later. Our waitress finally acknowledged us and I asked about my dinner and she said she didn't put one in for me. Mind you, this was over an hour at the table without being asked once if we needed anything. No visit from the manager and a sorry excuse of an apology as if it were our fault. If it wasn't for the live music we would have left long before getting our food. Food was greasy and not very well prepared with very little for the price.

Every time we come they basically turn us away saying there is a 1 hour wait. The place was empty with 20 open tables. This happens more often than not. Great food but terribly managed.

We really wanted to like this place, but 2 weeks ago on June 8th we visited The Pub for the first time. My wife and I were seated on the patio, very nice. We ordered our drinks and the waitress served drinks in a timely manner. BUT that is where it ends...as my wife was sitting there enjoying the evening, all of a sudden her chair collapsed and on the deck she went. Keep in mind, she is NOT a big lady, approx 145-150 lbs. All of the staff was quite polite and concerned. They all done what they could and a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to the manager named Constance (Connie)..Connie was very nice and professional. She told us the owner was on vacation but she called him and told him what had happened and that he would call to check on my wife....well, it has been 2 weeks and not a word from the owner. Connie DID call the following day (9th) but apparently the owner of this establishment does not care about the patrons. To the owner, I would count my blessings, because if my wife would have had to go to the E.R., the outcome would have been much different even though she did end up with an approx. 6-8" round bruise on her left thigh. I would highly recommend anyone that plans to sit in the chairs on their patio to look at all of the welds, because this is what left go and yes, I do have pictures of broken, bent chair with broken weld that my wife was sitting in. Be VERY CAREFUL of the Patio furniture!!!

Really bad, never going back. This was my first visit. My food was overcooked. When the bartender asked how my meal was, I told her the fish and fries were dry and overcooked. She said nothing and did nothing to rectify the situation. I can't believe they require a reservation for bar food. Menu was limited and so was the draft beer selection.

We’ve never had a truly great experience here, but we’ve continued to give it chances because it’s locally owned and considered one of the “nicer” options in the area. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was enough to ensure we won’t be returning. We generally expect some wait time for food here, which is understandable. However, during this visit we waited over an hour with absolutely no communication from either our waitress or a manager. After an hour and fifteen minutes, the manager finally came to our table and told us our food was being plated. We then waited another fifteen minutes before anything arrived. When the food did come out, the appetizer was dropped at the table without a word and the waitress immediately walked away. The rest of the food followed shortly after—everything cold, clearly having sat for some time. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of acknowledgment. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to check in. Our waitress disappeared, and the manager repeatedly walked past our table while deliberately avoiding eye contact. I understand that call-offs happen, lunch rushes get hectic, and staff can be overwhelmed. That said, communication and basic respect for customers should still be a priority. A simple update or acknowledgment would have gone a long way, but instead we were left feeling ignored and undervalued as customers.

I have a food sensory disorder, along with food allergies. If you’re expecting the food to be made to order, do not go here. If your expectations are to see your food, don’t go here. Its low light allows for them to pass subpar food to customers. If you’re not a drinker, then the food won’t taste good. It’s plain, and dull (from what my wife ate, we didn’t finish). They depend on low light and alcohol to sell their food. The musicians they bring in are not very skilled, but still respectable. They advertise they are really good food, when it’s average, at best. This is an honest review, and I travel around to pubs in Ohio reviewing them all.
