Went here on Valentines Day so it was very busy. The food fresh and cooked to perfection. Our chef and waitress was right on point and very and efficient. I highly recommend. We definitely be going back!

We arrived without reservation, and opted to sitting at the bar. It was the best decision, because we had an excellent experience. The bartender Jesus treated us spectacularly. Highly recommended 👌

This was my first time coming to this location and the service was amazing. Our waiter Luis was very caring and attentive to what was needed at our grill/table. Our cook was very entertaining for my children and the food was delicious. I shall return in due time for sure.

This was a wonderful experience, Chef Lu and Braylon were great! They were attentive, humorous and nice. They made us feel at home and the food was great as always, Benihana never disappoints!

Made a reservation here for dinner on a Friday night and it was busy with a long wait so if you want in make sure you call ahead and reserve your spot. The hibachi chef was so fun and impressive with his skills. I do believe his name was Trenn. The sushi was excellent. I got the shrimp crunchy roll and the Alaskan roll and they were both tasty. Very filling. My husband got the supreme hibachi which was a thick cut of steak and a lobster tail and he added on the fried rice instead of the steamed rice. It was cooked to perfection and the steak was so tender. We each had 2 drinks from the bar and those took a little while but they were really good and worth it. We spent $200 on the evening and had a lot of fun. We only go on special occasions since it is so expensive but it’s always a nice date night. Would recommend.

Loved it! Chef Joseph was on point! He did super cool tricks and the food was amazing! The meat was flavorful and tender, while the veggies were super tasty. We will be back!

I love this place. OMG. This is the best atmosphere and food there is. I always sit at the grill. I love the entertainment and it was my birthday. I didn't get my birthday coupon but I hope they make it right when I do.

First time to go to Benihana Irving. Took my husband and my kids on Fathers Day. Other than the wait, it was a fun day! Food is good and my kids enjoyed the show! Will go again next time! Worth it!

My husband took me for my birthday free meal. If you sign up with them you get a $30 voucher toward your meal. I usually spend more than that because you know it is my birthday. Our meals came with a salad that has iceberg lettuce, slivered carrots, purple cabbage and a grape tomato topped with a ginger salad dressing that I love!. You also get a small bowl of soup, mushroom, scallions and fried onions. I don't even like onions but I love this soup. I just give my husband some of the onions if it looks like too much for me. You also can have hot tea with lemon and honey on the side if you wish. Then you get an appetiser of 3 shrimp. As your chef cooks your food he puts on a little show for your entertainment, sometimes you get an egg shell tossed in the air and caught by his chef's hat. Or an onion choo choo train with whistle, or a beating heart of fried rice, which by the way you always want to pay extra for the fried rice, it is the best anywhere. It has chicken, onion, carrots, garlic butter, sesame seeds, soy sauce. Never pass this up! Also never order take out on this because they totally prepare it differently for take out orders and it is not as good. Ok back to the 6 course meal. Your chef will then start your onions and zucchini with soy sauce garlic butter and sesame seeds, yumm. Then comes your protein of choice, I got the shrimp and steak and my husband got the Rocky's Choice of chicken and filet mignon. His steak was so tender and juicy. I wanted to swap but I refrained. I would prefer to have shrimp over chicken. I wish I could get filet mignon and shrimp but oh well. You also get these two bowls of dipping sauces that I adore. One is a ginger sauce and the other is a mustard sauce. You will want to eat these with everything, even the fried rice, trust me. Sooooo good! If you can't eat it all don't worry, just take it home and enjoy it again tomorrow. But wait, save room for ice cream! You get your choice of green tea, vanilla, chocolate, or rainbow sherbet, lemon, lime, and orange. I always get that one. It is always a nice experience to come for my birthday and it makes it just a little more special. Thank you Benihana for all you do.

Chef Pedro was amazing! He really tries to make the experience at Benihana truly amazing. He is super funny and the food he cooks is great! I definitely recommend this restaurant, very family friendly. The wait is slightly long but definitely worth it!

I had not been to Benihana's in many many years. There is not a location convenient to where I live now. We went tonight to celebrate a very special occasion and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it. I highly recommend getting a reservation to make sure you get a table without having to wait too long. Prices are a bit high but you get top quality food as well as entertainment while you are there. My son got a three type seafood platter and I did the emperor's feast. The way the chef prepared everything in front of us was just truly amazing. It is one of the true joys of coming to Benihana's. Be prepared though, it is expensive but well worth the money.

Benihana offered up the perfect birthday lunch experience. Our private chef provided us and our table mates around our communal hibachi grill, with an experience like no other. Check out the 🎥s. The meal was delectable, the service was exceptional, the experience was amazing and the atmosphere was a vibe.

Took my guy there for his first visit. They’ve always been delicious. We went around 2pm during the week so the traffic was minimal. Cocktails are always good. We did not sit inside where the hibachi grills were, but still had options that we could order from there to our booth. Light lunch. Just a few pics taken.

This was my first time at this location. We had a reservation, but had to wait 30 mins, which was not bad due to it being a weekend. We had a blast! The food was good and the entertainment was well worth the wait. He kept my children engaged, and they even tried the Miso soup. Overall, it was a great experience and I will come to this location in the future.

This was my first ever experience of having food cooked right front of me. Watching the chef preparing the food itself was a sight to see. The food was really tasty. We had to wait for a while to get a table as we did not have a reservation earlier. But we enjoyed our time watching the interior. I can't tell about the price because I didn't have to pay, but looking at the menu I could tell it was a little upscale restaurant. And the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the experience was worth the price. Awesome food! Great interior! Friendly staff! Great crowd! Loved the experience!

Had a business dinner at Benihana in Irving, and it exceeded expectations. Our chef was fantastic, lively, skilled, and added just the right amount of humor while cooking. The fried rice and steak combo was perfectly done, and the shrimp appetizer was a hit at the table. Service was smooth and professional, and the atmosphere had a great balance of energy and class, perfect for a team meal. Everyone left full, entertained, and already talking about coming back for the next business outing.

I go every year for my birthday! Yes it's pricey but it's sooooooo worth it. And I've been to multiple locations nationwide and I've NEVER been disappointed! This is by far THE BEST dinner experience ANYONE will EVER have! The flavors are amazing, the show is entertaining, drinks are great and the service is ALWAYS on point! Thank you for making my birthday awesome year after year🤗🥰

Wait time upon arrival... No worries. The Benihana dinner experience was worthwhile and worth the wait. The location for the Benihana restaurant I visited is located in Irving, Texas. * The dining experience of having a personalized head table chef cook and serve your fresh dinner selection of exemplary food in front of you while performing chef notable (oh, ah) acts was pretty cool. * And getting to converse with other people at your table you don't know is always a unique experience. * I recommend dining at Benihana for the delicious fresh food and the experience.

We and many others 🤣 came here to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was great, we didn't catch her name. She was great, very helpful and communicated well. José, our personal chef 😏 was great, entertaining and whipped up a meal for 5 in about 25 minutes max. Cleaning up was entertaining as well. He made our experience great! I mean he did make the food! The sherbet was good, whiskey old fashion was as expected. Sushi was good. I did notice it did not look like short grain rice was used but they were still good. Atmosphere is lively, with birthday songs being sang every 10 minutes.

The place was great. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. The chef comes to your table to cook in front of you. The service is excellent and the chef is very good at humour. He made us laugh a few times and his name is Pedro as I remember. The food was excellent, fresh and cooked in front of you. They also have an egg and sweets after eating . Highly recommend this place . Great place to celebrate a small occasion with the family

Great experience and the we had the luck, honor and privilege to have the Executive Chef to cook our food. The orders were meticulous and tasteful and everyone enjoyed it all. From the interaction with the kids and the people at the table to the orders and making sure they were excellent. Would definitely recommend this place again. Lu was excellent.

We took our mothers for their first hibachi experience. They loved it! Jake (from State Farm…how he told us to remember his name: it worked! LOL!) was our waiter, and he kept the fruity lemonades coming! Jose was a great chef! He embodied the Benihana’s “experience” for our mothers! They’re ready to go again! Wait staff, food…everything was PERFECT! We always have leftovers, and today was no different. The moms chose the Rocky’s Choice entree (steak and chicken), and both had to take it home because they couldn’t finish! We love Benihana, and great wait staff like Jake, and chefs like Jose always make it with our while! Photos are their LEFTOVERS!

I believe our server’s name was Jewel (apologies if I spelled that wrong). He’s served us a couple of times now when I’ve been in the Dallas area with my boss, and he’s been absolutely amazing every time. He’s constantly moving, working hard, and still manages to be incredibly attentive and always smiling. The food has been hit or miss — sometimes great, sometimes just okay — but Jewel’s service has been consistently outstanding. He’s the reason we keep coming back!

Food was fire 🔥. I should have taken pictures, but we were hungry lol. We set down at a table because we wanted to get in and out. The service was quick and the server was friendly. I got the hibachi steak with teriyaki and upgraded to fried rice with noodles added. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Dallas!

Update: I am editing my review to 5 stars sine Terry called me back and was able to accommodate the group and advised we were misinformed. Thanks for the quick follow-up Tried to coordinate a Team lunch which is a group of 30. Colleague informed me that they would not allow a booking without charging $75 per person. This is way outside the company budget so we had to decline. I am sorry but $75 per person for a lunch is ridiculous.

A fun place to have lunch on Valentine's Day. The food waa as always tasty and fresh. The salad, the soup, shrimp appetizer, our steak and chicken with veggies cooked to perfection. The ginger sauce YUM, the mustard sauce YUM. The hot tea ends the meal just right. The best dessert ever, Benihana green tea ice cream, nothing better. I do wish they would play the traditional Japanese music as they used to. I miss that.

We had a fantastic experience at Benihana. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was fun, and the staff truly went above and beyond. From start to finish, the service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. What really stood out was how the team made my nephew’s birthday dinner extra special. They went out of their way to celebrate him and made the entire evening memorable for our family. Great food, great service, and an experience that felt personal rather than rushed. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a great night out.

My husband had a great first time experience. He enjoyed his trio and I had the scallops. Chef Luis put on a great show. Our teppanyaki chef wasn’t much of a performer. We noticed that other tables received big performances, which was a little disappointing. However, we enjoyed everything else. Our chef cooked everything perfectly, all the meat and vegetables were cooked just right. The service was also great. ⬇️ Visit my YouTube channel ⬇️ @thislifelately

This location is the best in DFW as far as food goes. The food is wonderful. Portion size is good, although they hardly give you any mushrooms and onions. Service is good, although I had to flag waitress down a couple of times to refill my drink. The cook was excellent!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience! We had the best time at Benihana thanks to our amazing chef, Luis! You could tell right away that Luis truly loves what he does—his energy, enthusiasm, and passion made the whole meal unforgettable. Every flip of the spatula, every joke, and every perfectly cooked bite showed how much he enjoys his job and cares about his guests’ experience. Luis kept everyone at the table laughing, engaged, and entertained from start to finish, and the food was absolutely delicious. It’s rare to see someone who takes so much pride in their work and brings so much joy to others at the same time. Thank you, Chef Luis, for making our dinner so special—you turned a simple meal into a memorable experience for our birthday and anniversary!!🎉🎉🎉

Really enjoyed my time. The cook was on point all of the food was great. Our servers Ken and KD were very accommodating. The manager was excellent and exemplified great customer service. I tried the Shrimp tempura which was good. The Black Pepper teriyaki wings and they were by far my favorite item on the menu. I also had the Benihana long island ice tea which was a little too much on the sour side, bit was great.i also had another frozen drink but can't remember the name, but it was good as well.

First time here. My husband an I enjoyed the food and drinks. I loved watching our Chef cook our food and others that they sat us with which felt weird. We ordered the Land&Sea, The Big Blue, and Mai Tai everything was really great. This place is pricey I will say. I would go back on Special Occasions.

We celebrated my son‘s 29th birthday with Chef Lu and Vivian our server There was about six of us Food was awesome, As we had everything from the Benehana trio to the seafood and the Tuna. Also had a big bottle of sake while enjoying our birthday cake that we brought afterwards!

J

Chef Lu was awesome and cared about food allergies. Staff was nice, but the server was too overloaded. Didn't get the full attention we usually get here. I feel like they need less hostesses and more wait staff. Was a little annoyed that we had a reservation for 7 and didn't get fully sat and ready for the chef for an hour. But the food obviously makes up for it. Biggest complaint is the parking situation. They really, really need to expand the parking lot. Not enough spaces at all. Overall a good experience.

Celebrated my birthday!! Best to go online or call and make reservations prior to arrival. We got there, and no customers were there waiting to be seated, but the manager still signed us up for a reservation with text messaging. We had to wait for enough people to be seated for the chef. Everything was cool and entertaining! The staff even gave me a dessert choice and sang happy birthday in English and Japanese! Some chairs and stations were worn down and could use a little updating.

The food was great. Starting out, the service was very slow. However, the servers were all very good. It took us about an hour to get our food. For this restaurant, that is pretty slow. The steak was done perfectly. Fried rice was excellent.

For my first time going it was a great experience. I do wish the server assigned would have explained how everything went as far as with ordering and the menu. She just went straight In to taking our orders. I think it was rather busy for her. The cook was fantastic it was definitely a show. I would go back just to see Gerardo! Overall I would definitely go again.

L
Lark Woodbury

The ambiance was nice and fun to have your food cooked in front of you. However my hibachi steak was tough and over cooked. I had to tell the cook to take it off the grill. Even then, my should be med rare meat was medium to med well. When paying over $50 for a meal, that should not happen. Rest of food aside from fried rice was lack luster and average to disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Really liked the food, and Chef Juan did an excellent job making us feel welcome and entertaining the kids — it made my 6-year-old daughter’s birthday very special. Honestly, if it weren’t for Juan, we wouldn’t have enjoyed the experience as much. The place looks a bit old and could benefit from an update. Service was okay, but I felt pressured to order more rather than having someone take the time to understand what we wanted. Dirty plates were left on the side of the hibachi as we were having desert, which for the price could have been handled better. For the cost, I expected a more premium experience with a more caring and attentive waiter. Overall, it was an ok experience, but I don’t see myself ever coming back.

Gotta give it a solid three. Place wasn’t very clean and the food was really salty. Used to be a really upper class place to have dinner, now It’s just mediocre and old at best. The screaming children that were finger painting with fried rice probably didn’t help much either for the atmosphere or price.

Lucero Rodriguez
Lucero Rodriguez

The food was good, the show given was definitely not what I expected it to be, usually is more interaction and activity going on. Also the chef seemed to had forgotten our order we all didn’t want veggies but 1 person and we were about to get veggies when I stopped him, and we usually get double rice since we didn’t get veggies he didn’t serve us double rice, and we had to ask for yum yum sauce when everytime I’ve been here or to any hibachi spot that’s one sauce they never miss to offer us and this time the chef said we can only get one sauce any extra sauce will be charged .80 cents which is crazy but hey maybe things and rules have changed in these past 5 months.

I want to start by saying our chef was absolutely amazing. If you are able to request a particular chef's section, then I recommend Marcos (not sure of spelling). He had entertainment, jokes, personality, and food was wonderful. He turned what started to be an unfavorable first-time experience to a positive one. The reason for the 3-star rating was due to the reservation process. I read prior reviews and hoped they got this all sorted out, especially since we didn't go on a special weekend. We had a reservation at 8:15 and arrived at 8:07 to check-in. We didn't get seated until 9. Once we were seated, we didn't get our drink order taken until 9:20. We finished dinner at 10:40. This is ridiculous for it to take that long to get seated and have drink order taken. I hope they fix this...still on the fence about going back. Marcos, you rock! Thanks for a fun time.

I ordered takeout hibachi from here for $22. This is the portion size they gave me. A toddler could finish this. $22 for chicken and shrimp hibachi for a little over 12 oz of food is absurd.

P
P.L. Lyons

Really turtle slow service. Paid $20 for a tiny Cranberry Mojito. The menu made it look like a beautiful Magenta drink but instead I got a boring pale pink drink full of ice and only about 4 sips. I have had way better drinks at Olive Garden and Red Lobster for way cheaper than that. Pappadeaux's drinks are expensive like that too, but their drinks Pop Off and are worth the price. Texas Roadhouse has huge frozen margaritas for $8 that take a long time to drink. My rice tasted old and gave me food poisoning. Still sitting on my stomach undigested for 6 hours had to puke it right back up stomach was burning on the right side and could not get to sleep. Research shows this is a bacteria (Bacillus Cereus) that affects rice when it has been stored improperly and then reheated. I suspect they are taking rice off other people's plates who had not eaten all of theirs and re-serving to other customers. No thanks, first time at a Japanese restaurant, but I'm going back to my American fare.

D
Donte Riddick

Staff was great but corporate went extreme. I went to use my Resy credit, but they nickel and dime like a low cost establishment. It wasn’t too clean, and we had a cockroach as a neighbor at our table. Again, the staff was great, but I wouldn’t return for free.

S
Stephanie W

The positive: the food tasted good. The negative: the food portion was small for what you pay for. The service was very slow because we were there for almost 3 hours. The hibachi are was hot and smoky. It was noticably cooler in the front lobby than the hibachi area. If you want to splurge, spend your money somewhere else that can give you a better experience. If you don't mind the wait and the weather is cold, this place has good flavors in their food.

I went there for my bday celebration with a party of 9. Going in excited as this was my first time. We waited an hour for our cook to arrive. A little upset but thought well they are busy. Then he was not friendly at all. Forgot the shrimp. Then missed one persons shrimp appetizer and gave it to another. Didn’t give us our mushrooms. Forgot to add the teriyaki I requested on my chicken. Then hands me a small container with teriyaki and says I forgot your teriyaki (my meal was done) overall a bad experience for me. Wished it had been better

I would not recommend this location the staff is not very friendly or attentive. The server I had Jayden she was not great and made snide remarks about me being there by myself for dinner, which is completely ridiculous. The sushi took forever to come out even though I ordered that first, I wind up getting my hibachi food before I even got the sushi, which is odd. I was right next to the sushi bar and it was not busy. I will never be back to this location and I regret giving any type of tip. Not to mention, I felt rushed the entire time I was eating she continuously was asking me if I was done and needed to check. They weren’t even closing. I got there at around 7:30. They don’t close until 10. She even brought out the to go boxes before I was even done eating and I kept telling her I would let her know when I was finished, which is ridiculous. You’re a server. You can clearly see I’m eating and it was only me on that side. All of her coworkers were sitting in a different booth as if they were break I didn’t even need anything from her so she wanted to go talk to them she could you don’t need to be rude to the customer. Just terrible service all the way around.

For the amount you’re paying, you should get an amazing experience, food, and service. We love hibachi and normally tend to stick to more local spots. Unfortunately, we went with Benihana tonight and what a disappointment!! The service is SO slow, and they charge you for everything - even the sauce. The portions are ok. And the show was just the onion train, that’s it. Do not recommend.

Nice place but poor execution, poor service, and shady up charging. The food was completely unseasoned, and they didn't give us lots of things that was included. Plus, when we ordered they up charged for veggie fried rice when I ordered "whatever comes with it." They didn't bring us the green tea, ice cream, and didn't cook any of the vegetables except onions and zucchini. We've been to probably 45 hibachi places all over the south and this one was by far the worst AND most expensive. Hated it.

Had reservations at 8:30pm It’s now 9:30pm. We were told at 9 they were cleaning our table. That’s all. 😴😴😴 Update. Finally seated at 10:00ish? Manager offered 50% off of our tab. Waitress was very kind, and the chef was a delight. This is the second time we’ve come here with a large party with reservations and both times the wait has been outlandish.

We've dined in before, and it was mediocre at best. The portion was good though (for someone with a hollow leg). Today, we just "to-go" ordered "2 16 oz hibachi steak fried rice" and the amount of steak together could fit in my palm. And I don't even have big hands. Like goalkeeper glove size 5. I am literally self-burning myself to let you know how disappointed we are. And before you go "16 oZ oF sTeAk FrIeD rIcE aLtOgEtHeR" Like bro, that was 4 oz of steak at a maximum. Quit being cheap. It's 2025 and we're experiencing WW3...be better.

I am furious and deeply hurt by the experience we had today. I brought my daughter here to celebrate her 9th birthday, full of excitement and expecting a fun, memorable hibachi experience. Instead, what we got was a complete disaster that ruined what should have been a special day for her. First, the service was awful from the start. We were handed only a dinner menu even though we came during lunch. When we asked for the lunch menu, the server acted like it was an inconvenience to even go get one. He couldn’t explain anything and made it clear he didn’t care about helping us. Then came the so-called “chef.” He was boring, unenthusiastic, and completely uninterested in providing any kind of experience. My daughter even said, “He only made small fires.” There was no energy, no jokes, no effort—nothing. To top it off, the food was horrible. The shrimp was left on the grill so long it was hard and rubbery. Everyone at our table left their plates full because it was just that bad. But the most infuriating and heartbreaking part came with the birthday celebration—or should I say, the complete lack of one. I made it very clear that we were there to celebrate my daughter’s 9th birthday. She wore a “Birthday Girl” pin and a crown, and we reminded them multiple times. Despite this, they ignored her entirely. We watched two other kids—both white—get the full birthday treatment. They got songs, cake, and ice cream, all with smiles and enthusiasm from the staff. Meanwhile, my little girl, the only Black child in the room, got nothing. When we brought it up, the server gave pathetic excuses like, “Oh, I didn’t see her crown or pin.” That’s a lie—they were in plain sight, and we told them it was her birthday! And after celebrating yet another white child, they came back to us and said, “Oh, we’re out of ice cream.” How convenient. Do you have any idea how it feels to sit there and console a heartbroken 9-year-old who was so excited to be celebrated, only to be completely ignored? Do you know how it feels to watch her eyes fill with tears as she sees other kids being treated with care while she gets nothing? This wasn’t just bad service—this felt personal. It felt like my daughter didn’t matter to them. It felt like we didn’t matter to them. I am beyond angry, disgusted, and hurt by this experience. This was supposed to be her special day, and instead, it became a painful, humiliating moment we will never forget.

Extremely disappointing experience here today. We had a reservation for 3 people for 12:45pm and did not get any food until after 2:15pm. If the kitchen is so backed up/you’re that understaffed, don’t accept reservations! It took so long for our chef to come over, that I stood up to find a staff member to ask if I could get food to go since we were there with our kids, and the staff member would not even say if that was possible. Chef Marcos was funny and kind, but we had to ask for our rice (it wasn’t offered to us) and that’s kind of a key part of the meal. We were not offered drink refills until after the meal and the refills did not actually come until after we had paid our check and gotten to-go boxes. The restaurant itself was very dirty and in need of updating- see the photo for an example. Major bummer overall and definitely not worth the price tag. We won’t be back to this location.

What a disaster to be honest we made reservation for my daughters birthday for a large party and we were welcomed by a hostess that had such an attitude and looked like she had just rolled out of bed they were over an hour behind on reservations when we asked what the issue was she rolled her eyes and just said we are behind. We did not stay. Never again, what a joke!

I had reservations at 7:30p for my sons birthday and when we went to check in they said that they were 1.5 hours behind scheduled so we wouldn’t be seated until 9pm and they close at 10p. What a horrible experience we ended up leaving and finding another restaurant. I will not advise coming here for special events as they ruined my sons birthday dinner

Definitely wasn't worth 56 dollars. Shrimp was not enough for two ppl. This was a take out order. They forgot my rice. I went in to get it, 3 ppl standing near the guest greet desk. I spoke with a tall guy he was nice he gave the other guy an ok to go get the rice. The other guys was trying to read my receipt. The tall guy instructed him to go get the rice again. There was a girl with dreads that said steam rice don't come with it, without asking me what I order or looking at the receipt. That let me know customer service wasn't the most important mission for this restaurant. She walks off . Very weird interaction. The other guy goes to get my rice. I’m literally waiting four minutes. For the rice that should’ve been in my bag. I went home ate a little bit of the food immediately felt sick. I live in Las Colinas been living here for about four years. This was truly a waste of money.

Our waiter made us wait 10 mini to clean out table and another 10 minutes to come greet us and when he came didn’t give us menus left to get them then took our drink and appetizer well one of them forgot about the other because he offered it to someone else and I overheard him so I told that was ours then goes and brings us the same appetizer he offered to someone else, brought our food wrong we asked for siracha with appetizer didn’t get that so that got cold and just was gone for long periods of time

How difficult is it to get Hibachi chicken with extra fried rice??? I drove an hour in the rain to take my friend out for Valentines. You people ruined it. Not to mention the cook stopped in the middle of cooking and shook a guys hand like they hadn’t seen each other in years. Then went right back to cooking like it was no problem. Didn’t wash his hands or anything. Just go to your local hibachi place. This isn’t it anymore!!! PS they use a blender for frozen margaritas!!!

Me, my family and friends we go on on about the chicken fried rice, but Not this time. We all were Very disappointed, the rice did Not taste good at all, it was sticky, dry and the taste of it was Not good!!! I drove all the way from Grand Prairie passed many places to get this rice and (4 containers) we tried to eat it, but no one liked it, wow that's so sad and I want my money back, a refund!!!

During our visit to Benihana, the experience was extremely disappointing, primarily due to the excessive wait time and poor customer service. Despite arriving on time and checking in properly, we were forced to wait an unreasonably long time to be seated. There was little to no communication from staff about how long the wait would be, and updates were either vague or completely absent. The line management was disorganized, and it appeared that other parties were seated ahead of us without explanation. When we asked staff members for clarification, they were unhelpful and dismissive. Rather than attempting to assist or apologize, employees acted irritated by basic questions and showed no concern for customer satisfaction. Overall, the lack of professionalism and poor handling of the wait severely affected the experience. The customer service did not meet even basic expectations, and the long, unexplained delay made the visit frustrating and unenjoyable. This experience reflects poorly on the restaurant and would discourage a return visit.

I called on Dec 22, 2025, and made a reservation for 4, on Christmas Day at 4:30. I received 2 texts over the next couple of days confirming the reservation. We arrived on the 25th at 4:15 and entered the restaurant, there were people waiting in line all the way from the door to the hostess station. I had my 89 year old mother, who uses a walker, and another elderly family member who walks with a cane with me and was told we had at least a 45 minute wait. I told the hostess we had a reservation, and she said there would still be that wait. We asked if they had been seating walk ins, and she responded yes. There was no where for my family members to sit, even if we wanted to wait. We were very disappointed. No apologies, no nothing. I sent an email to their customer service department, no acknowledgement, no response. Very disrespectful. I will never go back.

Very overpriced for what you get. I paid 52 dollars for a filet mignon hibachi dinner and that came with steamed rice not fried rice. I had to pay another 8 dollars to “upgrade” to fried rice. I have had much better food and service and experience for a little over half the price. I do not recommend this place.

K

The service was bad. Was in a group of 5 and 3 of us had steamed rice which they didn’t bring until we reminded them after we already ate our protein. Also 2 of us ordered the 6 course meal which included dessert. We had paid and were ready to leave until we remembered this was included. Had to track down our waitress again to ask her to bring the dessert that was included. The food was not a good value either & the rice when it was brought was overcooked. Spending 50-60 per plate for subpar food is not worth it.

Went there very rude server i think her name was Itxhel. She never came to the table, we had to flag down other servers just to get her to the table. She sighed and mumbled very time we would ask for a refill or some actual service. Our cook was very messy he was flinging food all over the place egg shells in rice. It was a very horrible experience, I will not be going back or recommending anyone else to go.

waited an hour and a half for our food. we got onion soup that was mostly water and CHICKEN fried rice that was only rice fried rice. the appetizer came AFTER the meals and we got our drinks an hour before our food with no refils at all. half our order was forgotten about and all we got in return was a free IBC root beer. $80 for some bullshit and a waste of time. will never return to this location and will recommend others to stay away from it

We had a very disappointing experience on my daughter’s birthday and would definitely not visit again and would not recommend anyone. It’s not at all worth it. Our reservation was at 7 pm but we had to wait more than an hour to get a table. Furthermore, we had to wait for an hour plus for chef to arrive so be ready to wait for 3+ hours for the meal. Food was not that great for the price they charge. We ordered hibachi but they missed sauces and components and had to remind them.

A

They no longer perform. All the "chefs" were silent and looked bored. We paid over $700 for mediocre food and no entertainment. They didn't even sing happy birthday. Our chef was clearly high and could barely open his eyes. There are so many better options for hibachi. Don't bother.

I will NEVER EVER be back ! First off when we pulled up there was a chef outside digging in his nose while smoking a cigarette yuck ! The energy was bad as soon as as we walked in it’s like they were lazy and didn’t want to work idk but anywho the food was mid the portions were not worth the price we were charged the chef was very boring I’ve been to more places were they were more entertaining and like I said the portions are small for the price .. I’ve been to better hibachi places and this was by far the worst I will not be back employee here was miserable except for the lady at the bar

Took my son and fam for his birthday it was a bad experience starting with the host was definitely not friendly they took forever to bring drinks a soup was spilled all over the place was just an all over poor family night. Definitely won’t be doing this location again. Mind u they kept saying they was understaffed but seen the manager on his phone where we had to get up and ask wats going on with our drinks.

I’m still here, it’s been 1.25 hours and we still haven’t gotten food yet. Manager wouldn’t say yes or no to getting food to go. You should have the day set aside. Chef Marcos was great, but the rest if the experience was so bad we wont be coming back. I can’t reply but responding with a generic reply to make other customers feel that my concerns have been addressed won’t cut it. No I’m not going to your custom domain for complaints to say the same thing. You’re just triaging discontented customers into a funnel that won’t effect your bottom line. I think you’ve wasted enough of my time.

Good job, Benihana. You’ve convinced me that I need to quit drinking. $18.50 for a dirty martini, and the first one came out sweet. The second one was not dirty, just a martini. Then I gave up on the whole ordeal and ordered a beer. Well, that couldn’t be done right either, because they brought me a non-alcoholic beer. The server was great and the hibachi chef was great. The bartender, however, was drunk behind the wheel.

My partner and I went to this location for the first time and we had made a reservation for 7:30pm. Starting off at arrival we checked in and we still had to wait another 30 minutes to get sat down. We realized we were getting seating at a teppan table, we nicely let the hostess know we had reserved bar seating and she looked at us and said we could’ve just sat at the bar area because it’s open seating instead of waiting. Instead of her trying to give us a solution or at least apologize at that, she decided to inform us of “our” mistake. She took us to the manager and she told us to repeat what we said to her to the manager. We did and the manager gave us no solution as well, we either had to go back to the teppan table or wait again. We wanted an intimate night for our valentines dinner and instead we were forced to have our dinner with three other couples. Again, this was our first time at this place and we are not aware of what’s open seating and what’s not, if it was also open seating then it’s not something that should be an option to be reserved. The situation was very frustrating and we wished we would’ve had a better experience for our first time coming here. Overall our waitress and our food was great.

We had a 5:45 PM reservation at Benihana – Las Colinas and the experience was frustrating overall. We arrived on time and still waited about 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took another 15 minutes to be helped and almost 30 more minutes for the chef to arrive. I ordered the Trio for my wife and chicken and rice for my son. When the fried rice was made, leftover chicken was split among five people instead of going to my son. I shared my portion with him. At the end of the meal, my wife realized she never received her chicken at all. Our server only checked on us once after drinks, so there wasn’t much opportunity to correct it. We arrived at 5:45 PM and didn’t receive our bill until 8:30 PM. The most uncomfortable part was paying. The tip screen only offered 18%, 20%, or 22%. Given the missing food and lack of service, I planned to leave 15%. However, the server was hovering over my shoulder while I was entering the tip, which felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because of that pressure, I lowered the tip even further. She then confronted me and said she wanted to educate me on how to tip, explaining that a low tip “comes out of her pocket” because tips are split with the chef. We had already given the chef a generous cash tip separately. Tips are based on service quality — they are not automatic or guaranteed, especially when part of the meal was never delivered. Hovering over a guest during payment and confronting them afterward is inappropriate and disrespectful. The food wasn’t bad, but the service and overall experience were disappointing. We won’t be returning.

I made a 6:30 PM “ RESERVATION” and arrived on time, expecting to be seated as scheduled. Instead, I was told it would be closer to 8:00 PM before we could be seated. That completely defeated the purpose of making a reservation in the first place. I had other plans at 8:15 PM, which were ruined because of the delay. I understand restaurants can get busy, but being pushed back an hour and a half with a reservation is unacceptable. If you’re not going to honor reservation times, don’t offer them. A simple heads-up earlier in the day or better time management could have prevented this situation. Very disappointing experience. If you value your time and have plans afterward, I’d recommend thinking twice before booking here.

This was one of the worst dinner experience for my birthday that I have ever had. Let’s start off with the bartender who had no conversation. No facial expressions she did not offer to service any of us at all. When we asked her was the bar open she said yes and that was it she did not offer us any service, once we made it to our table it took them over 30 minutes to even start cooking after our orders were taken. Although our server was very nice, but she was not very attentive. She took a very long time to get containers to get our bill. It was just an overall disaster.

Each table is designed to seat eight guests; however, our party of seven was initially seated at a table totaling nine guests. The couple placed with us was immediately rude and visibly displeased to be sharing the table, creating an uncomfortable environment. I explained to our waitress that this arrangement was not appropriate, especially given the overcrowding, and requested to be moved. While waiting for another table, we ordered two dirty martinis. Once seated, the drinks were delivered and were noticeably sweet, bearing no resemblance to a dirty martini. We politely asked for them to be remade. Instead, the manager approached and served a cosmopolitan something we did not order. When we explained this, he stated, “You didn’t like the dirty martini, so we made something else.” We clarified that we simply wanted the original drinks remade correctly. At that point, we were offered olive juice on the side, followed by the manager explaining the ingredients of a dirty martini in a condescending manner, as though we were unfamiliar with what we had ordered. We ultimately returned the drinks and requested Japanese beer instead. Shockingly, we were then served 0.0% non-alcoholic beer again by the manager without explanation. By this point, the experience felt almost satirical, though it was very real. We sent it back and decided to just drink water, as for nothing was going right. I want to emphasize that our waitress was kind, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. She repeatedly apologized for the situation, despite the issues being entirely outside of her control. Unfortunately, the manager never offered a single apology and instead consistently escalated the situation through dismissiveness and repeated errors. This experience was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional, and it is regrettable that such poor management overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable evening.

Unfortunately, this place was an utter disappointment. Upon walking in you can tell this place is unkept and lacking in cleanliness. The manager is walking around, so you would think he’s on top of the management of the restaurant , but overall service was bad and place was really dirty. I’ve been to local hibachi restaurants which offer better service and food, plus prices aren’t as steep. I took these pictures because this restaurant needs a deep cleaning. I couldn’t help noticing the dirty walls, which are visible to the public, then imagining how the kitchen looks. Overall, ~$50 a plate I expect some standard, cleanliness and decent service. Kudos to chef, he’s was nice.

We made a reservation at Benihana for 6:15PM on a Sunday. We waited until 6:50PM, and we were told it would still be at least 15 more minutes, and that two parties still needed to be seated ahead of us (so, likely, it would have been much longer than 15 more minutes to be seated). We left and had to find somewhere else to eat. I'm not sure what the point of making a reservation was. Management here needs to do a better job and only allow reservations to be made that can actually be honored.

I was very disappointed with my visit today. On 1-4-2026 I was there with a date that has never been here. I told her that it it amazing. Boy was I wrong. We waited for a long time in the waiting room. There was just a few of us. When we was seated , it took 30 minutes for us to get drinks. I mean water and tea. When we started seeing food on the grill , it was a hour and 20 minutes when I took my first bite. Another thing that Benihanas is known for is the interaction with the customers. We had Rico. If you spoke Spanish to him, he was giving you extra food. I don't speak Spanish. The other couple got a ton extra shrimp. My party and another party of 4 had asked where is the rest of our shrimp. My date said that we would have been better off at Mac Donald's. I will not be going back here again. Also I did say something to the manager. It wasn't enough to win me coming back. I hate that we had a bad experience. There are a lot of people that go here. My one complaint doesn't mean anything to them

We go here every year for my nieces birthday. Server was izxhel and she was horrible. Had to wave her down anytime we needed refills or anything. We did the “6 course” meals and barely got 3 then was told it was only offered when requested. The chef was messy and unsanitary. He was throwing uncooked chicken juice around, rice was everywhere, and there was egg shells and burnt grill pieces all through the food. We told the server it was my nieces birthday and she brought the ice cream out by herself when my niece had went to the restroom, lit the candle and was going to proceed to leave the ice cream at an empty seat and walk away. There were other birthdays and they made sure to actually sing with multiple workers who participated and had tambourines and other items while singing. Even when I asked to talk to a manager the server got mad and proceeded to tell other servers “we were mad because we didn’t get mushrooms”. When the manager came he kept cutting me off and trying to offer to take $5 dollars off the bill for the mushrooms. It was never about the money and always about the experience and the tradition. 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend this location!!!

The food is good. The atmosphere is nice. The staff are friendly and accommodating. However, the HUGE failure of this restaurant is the TOTAL LACK of the reliability in having a confirmed reservation. We’ve had many reservations here. We’ve NEVER been seated within 20 minutes of the confirmed reservation time. Many times, we’ve had to wait much longer. Tonight, we got there promptly at 7pm for a confirmed 7pm reservation, and we were informed it would be over a one hour wait. YES, OVER A ONE HOUR WAIT WITH A CONFIRMED RESERVATION. If you rely on a reservation time, avoid this place like the plague.

My husband and I usually come to this location often. I will have to say they have a really bad bug problem. They sat us at one table and had to move us. We were eating and killing bugs at the same time. It was just so gross. I brought it to the managers attention and he said nothing at all. Came to the table and said he added a discount…. I was like I hope you all get this taken care of…. Ridiculous, the server never came back. We had to get our ticket from the manager

Food is not that great for what it costs. 10/10 do not recommend coming here. It was my birthday my husband planned a special night for me and the waitress completely ruined it by her lack of service. We were the only ones where yiu seat yiyrself so there is no excuse. When I brought it up with the manger he could careless and was far from empathetic. The waitress forgot parts of my husband's meal so aa a result his food was cold by tge time she brought yhe rest of it. She forgot to put in our calufornia roll order. She didn't bring us dishes so we coukd dip the rolls in soy sauce. Thete was a woman behind the counter on her phone also could care less. If I could do it again I apukd never of gone there. I knew it was going to be bad when we waited almost 20 minutes just for menus and when we walked in they had our reservations in the hibachi which we didn't want to do because of the noise. Thank you to our waitress and manger for completely ruining the experience for me. Never ever again will we go back.

Visited last night Saturday 10-11-25. Table is meant for 9, they crowded us with 11. The hibachi chef was not entertaining or engaging. We had 4 kids at our table and they had to ask him questions and try to get him engaged. We will never be back. If you just want overpriced under portioned food with zero entertainment then feel free to go and waste your money. We mentioned to the bar tender and the manager that our visit was not going very well. They did absolutely nothing about it. We paid $300 for a party of 4. Told the manager that our chef was acting like someone had just died. The Manager sucks royally. Thank you for not doing your job!!

I recently visited Benihana for the first time and unfortunately had a less than satisfactory experience. Our reservation was at 8:30 PM, but we arrived at 8:35 PM. Despite being only five minutes late, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our waitress promptly took our drink order, and we were ready to place our meal orders. However, it took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The chef, Pedro, arrived at 9:30 PM, and many of us had ordered the special hibachi. Unfortunately, none of us received our soups or salads. Pedro, visibly embarrassed, apologized, and informed us that our waitress had not checked on us at all. He even went to the kitchen to inquire about the missing items. He offered to wait until we received our soups and salads, but we all agreed that he should begin cooking. Despite these issues, Pedro did a great job and was very efficient. To make matters worse, when we received our bill, we realized we hadn't been served dessert. I approached the host area and asked to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the manager's response was less than professional—he rolled his eyes when I explained the issues we experienced. He only asked who our server was, and after we mentioned our waitress, Vive, he did not offer an apology or attempt to resolve the situation. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the service and the lack of attention to our concerns. I will not be returning to this Benihana and would not recommend it to others.
