Several hours were spent here during the island-wide power outage...I was so grateful they were able to remain open! We ate & drank at the bar, cracked jokes with the bartenders, & were treated very well. There were no hidden fees, nor was the tip included in our final bill as other reviews have mentioned. This is a great place to have dinner & drinks as we did, or spend the day, as is it situated directly on the beach 🏖😎
We came here looking for coconuts but stayed for the food since they didn’t have coconuts that day. My kids had french toast and their portions were huge! They also came with fresh fruit which was great on a hot morning. I think what i had were called molletes and they were amazing, I cleaned my plate and I wasn’t even hungry. Server checked on us often but he went above and beyond when they didn’t have chocolate milk on the menu but somehow he managed to deliver some really tasty and refreshing chocolate milks for the girls. you also can’t beat sitting there overlooking at the beach. Totally loved this place. The one thing that was very different from other places is that they bring a basket of toast before your meal to much on while you wait.
We spent the day on an excursion to Isla Mujeres. We had about three hours of free time and we stopped at Coco Snack Beach Bar restaurant. We seated immediately and brought out chips and dip and Alfonso. Our waiter took our order. Alfonso was very friendly and helpful and we had The octopus and a whole grouper fried. Delicious and an amazing view!
Great location, good service and some of the freshest shrimp ceviche I’ve ever had. Less then the main tourist area restaurants but still fair. Update: On my second visit I was going to tip 15% as it was a buffet that evening for Super Bowl. Server said to re-read the portion of the bill where tip percentage was: good service, excellent service ect. suggesting I was NOT tipping enough. I found this rude. I think tipping is getting out of control in Isla what them suggesting 20% and higher. Won't be back here.
Solid place right on the beach. We got fried octopus ceviche which was really good. A whole fried fish which was also good, and a mixed seafood platter. Like most places on the island it is all cooked to order so expect it to take a long time. Not complaining here just ensuring people are aware. Prices are high as well like most places are now around this area.
We were getting a little tired of the food at our resort in Cancun and while spending the day on the island decided to try and find some authentic Mexican food. We found this place and were not disappointed. Aside from the amazing view, the staff was very friendly and, despite what I’ve read in some other reviews, we didn’t have any problems paying with a card nor did they automatically add a tip. We kept our order simple: beef and chicken tacos and guac. I’ve been to Mexico a few times before and these were probably the best tacos I’ve had. If we’re ever on the island again we’ll definitely go back.
The food was good. Each plate is 12 -20 dollars. Breakfast empanadas beef and cheese were delicious. Depending on which waiter, you can ask to have your order personalized. Jaime was so nice he served my toddler her fruit plate just how she likes it. We did not need papaya or pineapple etc, just watermelon please. Coffee was included with breakfast. They open at 8am. Dinner was ok.
The restaurant may be a bit pricey, but it offers the finest cuisine on the island. The shrimp was exceptionally flavorful, served alongside crisp, fresh vegetables that complemented the dish perfectly. We chose the redfish from the menu, as sea bass was unavailable—each day, they offer just one type of fish. While the quality is outstanding, expanding the seafood selection would enhance the dining experience for guests. Our lunch totaled $117, including a 10% tip. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and plan to return.
Went on a date night had the best coconut shrimp and martinis ever it was basically only one other I mightve seen, came back for a reservation, the place was full service was horrible iy was a surprise Bday party and nothing was ready, took an hour to get drink and 2 hrs for food after we ordered, they also forgot some orders , I had shrimp fajitas easy on the shrimp it looked like, we were very disappointed we denied tip and got into an argument with the waiter over it, i ended going to get street tacos after, it is beach front and drinks are good other than appetizers I wasn't impressed
Service was good. it's a 2 story beach bar with tables also on the beach, which is nice (no umbrellas though). We has the surf and turf with lobster and it was perfect. Flavorful ans fresh, chicken fajitas were also very good. The club sandwich and Cuban style pork bites (masas de puerco) we're on point. Could have used a little more seasoning, but were juicy and tender. The fried rice on the other hand, we had to send back. The shrimp and chicken were seasoned in loads of lime juice and just didn't go well with a fried rice. It was strange tasting. They were very kind and took it off the bill. Watch out because they add the tip to your bill regardless, no option for the amount (20%) or If you want to pay it separate and not on your credit/debit card. I asked about it and the response was that is how it is. We were a party of 5 and this is not customary in the area. Might think twice about returning and If I did would make sure not to get tacked with an additional amount on a bill.
If you are going to charge high prices for drinks, you should at least put some alcohol in them. You can drink yourself sober here. Stick to beer at this place. This used to be our go to place to enjoy the day on Isla. Our service was excellent and the food we ordered was yummy. Note to owners: A bottle of liquor is not that expensive, you make more than your money back on the prices you charge for drinks, and you would make even more money if you actually poured the contents of that bottle into your drinks. You don't need to rob people to make money. Makes great drinks and give the people what they pay for and they will return.
We were not impressed with the food. I got the shrimp & chicken fried rice which had a really strange mix of tastes- I only ate a few bites and tossed the rest. My hisnsbf got the chicken wings which were blah. Our drinks were great (I got the Blue Hawaiian and he got the spritzer). Our main reason for picking this place was it had live music. As soon as we placed our order, the live music ended. H they wouldn’t start back up until the USA football game stopped - aren’t we in Mexico? Why halt the music for a sports game? It was SOO maddening as we wouldn’t have given this place a second glance without the music. We would not recommend this place. There’s plenty of better places on the island. This was one of our most expensive meals our whole 2 week trip - and considering the quality of the food, that’s horrible.
