I felt right at home here. My fam and I came for breakfast and we loved it! Great service, the food was good, and the portions were HEALTHY. Will definitely be back on my next trip through Kerhonkson.

If you’re driving down 209 through Kerhonkson then you need to stop in the Kerhonkson Diner. Great service, clean and bright restaurant with all the classic food you’d find in a diner. We had the BLT and the BBQ chicken wrap and they were great. Glad we popped in.

I eat here often. My mom and "aunt" eat here a lot. I haven't had anything that I don't like yet! The "Staff" are wonderful. I miss Barbara!!! Awesome friendly "back-home" like diner!

Looking for a classic diner? This is it. Even my vegetarian self finds the veggie omelet, rye toast, and fried potatoes just perfect. The grilled cheese for my grandbebe delighted her(and excellent fries).

WOW , talk about feeling at home. This place is one of the best family restaurants I’ve been to . The food and staff were great , The place was spotless everybody was friendly and atmosphere was perfect. My wife and I were visiting a family member and she recommended this place and We’ve been there almost everyday. Don’t pass this place up . Take it from a restaurant owner , I give this place 5 stars all around.

We always get the same waitress each time we go and she is just the sweetest. The food was great and served quickly. Customer service is nice, and the atmosphere is always relaxing here. I recommend if you're ever in Kerhonkson.

This gets five stars for what it is...a great mom & pop dinner in NYS. Not the chromed, glitzy NY or NJ diner, but a location for an honest, fine, treat of a meal. I had one if their Senior meals...the open faced roast beef dinner which came with a soda or iced tea and even a small tapioca pudding. Just perfect. Stop in if you're in town. Watch their hours; they are open 6a-8p Mon thru Wed they close early on Thur thru Sun. Enjoy!

Massive menu. Consistent, clean, well prepared delicious food, no matter what you order, you know what to expect. Friendly service staff. Fast, clean, professional kitchen staff. Family friendly, classic hometown diner. The only drawback is the business hours. Not enough of a drawback to lose points, however. I just find myself planning either to eat earlier or to pick up early and reheat it later.

This quickly became one of our favorite diners! The coffee is great, every dish we've tried has been good and the service is also great. All the staff is friendly.

This small diner offers amazing food at the best prices. I have tried different things off their menu, and I always leave happy. The staff is courteous and fast (even when the diner is packed). Don't forget to ask for tub of coleslaw to go - they make the best in the area!

Tried this after a night of drinking because we wanted pancakes. The staff was all friendly and it was busy but not much of a wait. I got the sausage gravy and biscuits meal with eggs cooked medium and home fries, an order of extra crispy bacon, and the apple cinnamon short stack. Most of the time when I order medium eggs they either come out way too runny or the yolks are hard. I HATE when the whites are runny, but the cooks here made what I can only consider an absolutely perfect medium egg. The yolk was super gooey without any sign of runny white. The home fries were cooked perfectly also, with onions and peppers that weren’t overpowering and a nice crispy crust on most of the potatoes. Crispy bacon is also usually a disappointment when I order it places, either bordering on burnt or still too bendy, but the bacon here was perfectly hard without any burnt bits on it. The sausage gravy had a ton of sausage bits but no large chunks (which I don’t like), and the gravy flavor was perfect. My favorite part was the apple cinnamon pancakes though. I was expecting pancakes with like a topping of apple cinnamon, but they had managed to make a perfect pancake with the apples cooked right in. And the apples weren’t that canned apple pie filling either, it looked like it was fresh chopped apple mixed with cinnamon and a little bit of sauciness but not enough to make the pancakes soggy. For the price (which was more than reasonable), it was a ton of amazing food. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good breakfast/brunch spot!

Great town diner. We left Kingston from the Catskills train ride. Heading toward casino found this diner. What a great place. Waitress very friendly. We where seated quickly. Beverages ordered immediately. They have a large menu so many choices. Can order breakfast all day too. Place wasn't packed but plenty of customers. I noticed the tables where bused just as someone left. While there staff went checked on bathroom fill paper and tidy up.

This is my favorite diner. Every waitress is so nice and patient. Actually the waitresses friendliness and welcoming personalities is what makes me keep coming back. The food is always perfect . Thank you kerhonkson diner.

Literally just ate here. Got in last night and couldn't wait to just sit and have a wonderful breakfast at a very familiar place. This is one of my favorite places when visiting back home. We usually meet with family and friends but today, we had breakfast with just the two of us. Belinda as always was so welcoming and friendly. Always loved this place. Great food, wonderful staff. The food here is great. The portions are huge but the food is so good you want to keep eating even after you're full. The staff is always friendly and every time I've dined here it's been a pleasure, consistently a pleasure. Seriously the best diner in Ulster County. I've eaten here at least 100 times and I've never been disappointed. Their fried chicken is the best around. Servers are super friendly and always check to see if everything is ok.

Love this place! It's our local favorite. We have gone on various days and times and always very happy with it. My son loves to order the chicken fingers appetizer and either french toast or waffles, to make chicken and waffles. Their french toast is delicious. The Diner is the real deal. While staying in the area for a few weeks, repeated meals were consistently well-prepared, served hot, and really good eating. There is a 0630 to 1100 breakfast menu with a good selection and prices that include coffee. The coffee is hearty and your cup is never empty. Service is nothing short of excellent and pleasant - never saw a frown. If you are in eastern New York, go to the Diner.

It is everyone you want from a diner but want takes it up a level is the food. Absolutely loved our breakfast meal the eggs were great, the bacon was crispy, and for the price the amount of potatoes you get is surprisingly large. It was hit the spot so good we went back the next day and ordered the exact same thing. The service was fast and pleasant whether it was the waitress or the cashier everyone was so friendly and joyful. Next time I am in the area I will 100 percent come back for breakfast or sandwich.

Have gone there for many years and it changed hands. The owner now October 15, 2020 has created an amazing place to eat. First the place is very clean and well kept. Bathroom was really clean (not that I would eat off the floor because they have tables). The food was exceptional. I had an open turkey sandwich. It was real turkey from a turkey breast and the gravy was really good. French Fries were really crisp and delicious. The onion rings were so cripsy and delicious. The Ice Tea unsweetened, was really fresh and tasty. Waitress was so helpful as we came with toddlers and a party of 7. All the other dishes were of equal quality. We had a really good time and I highly recommend this to everyone. Kerhonkson is a very small village in upstate so you don't expect to find such a place with such good food. Thank you so much for making us so happy. It has been a long journey during this time of national epidemic. It was a very special moment being there. (prices were very point on)

The food is good. I went there a few times. The first time everything was great but the second time the service was terrible. Waitress spilled drinks, touched/stuck her fingers in plates and cups that we weren't done with. Disappointing. It's a great breakfast spot if you get the right waitress.

this is the experience you're looking for when going to a diner for breakfast. (i can't comment on anything lunch or dinner as I'm only in the area early) my go-to is two over easy with sausage links, crispy home fries and rye toast which is cooked to perfection each and every time. (a nice touch that isn't offered at many other spots is your home fries can be done crispier than usual and with or without onions and/or peppers) earlier is better on weekends as it can get quite busy by 8:30

We love going here for breakfast the food is great and the staff are great there is one waitress we love she is awesome always comes talks to us asks if we need more tea or coffee only thing I would say negative is when I have a different waitress they are not as attentive as some

This is a small establishment which seemed to have mostly locals. We ordered our food which was good along with courteous service. My wife had made a special request for her eggs to be cooked a little longer and our waitress asked if it was to her liking.

My cousin and I stopped here while traveling through the area. It's a great diner! The food was delicious, especially the fries. Some of the best I've ever tasted. So was the French onion soup. The staff was very welcoming, and the waitress was great. Definitely recommend it.

Spotlessly clean, with very good food. Toast would have been a little better if not over buttered but the omelet was great. Would ask for dry toast next time. Server was excellent refilling coffee, and was very pleasant.

Good food, typical diner menu... a little short which is sometimes good, great prices, family atmosphere, lots of locals some in pajamas lol. Plenty of parking, food came out quickly and nice and hot. Waitress was just awful which is why only 4 stars.... almost made it 3 stars she was so bad but maybe we were just unlucky with that one employee... we came during a rush which wasn't terrible but she seemed overwhelmed and flustered. Two sets of dirty cutlery under the table, never checked on us after ordering, never refreshed coffee, screwed up my wife's order and couldn't catch her to correct it.... had to get up and literally chase her down, then she didn't go in and correct it immediately but continued bussing the four.... only four tables she was having a hard time serving.... by the time the 2 hot sausages came from the kitchen we had finished our meals and gotten another cup of coffee by going to the counter.... it was bad but maybe she was just having a bad morning or trying to do too much rather than paying attention to diners needs. Whatever, still a good meal, good prices at a good place and we would return.

Stopped by Kerhonkson Diner for breakfast. I ordered a vegetable omelet with toast and potatoes. Everything was cooked well, and the portion was generous. The atmosphere was calm, and the service was polite and efficient.

A local diner with local people all around that is how you know they have good food. Prices are reasonable, menu is pretty extensive. Good diner food is not always easy to find, this place has good food and good service.

Inexpensive classic diner. Service was a little...gruff. Felt like I was in the way or something, even though they weren't particularly busy. Food was good, prices were good, the coffee was a little strange...once it got cold (service didn't stop by to top me off, by the way, which I was bummed about) it tasted vaguely of weed. Weird, I know, but my friends agreed with me. I'll be the last person to complain about THC in my coffee, but still. A little strange.

Just a good, dependable, affordable, basic place to eat. Not extraordinary, not beautiful, not cute. We ate under the doleful, judging eye of good old George Washington, off a table that is as nondescript now as it was 20 years ago, before the shine of the formica was dulled by the abrasion of decades. This is a classic unpretentious diner, that prioritizes feeding people quickly and adequately at a moderate price.

Food is what you would typically expect from a diner. There is plenty of parking and easily accessible for the disabled as there is a ramp. The place is tiny but very clean. We stopped in for lunch after our visit to the farm pumpkin picking and feeding the animals. The diner wasn't busy but our service wasn't great. The server was nice just very slow. I waited a long time for a simple Greek salad with chicken while everyone else at my table had their food and I'm a show eater to boot. I couldn't even get a refill on my coffee so I paid for another to go. The coffee is excellent or I would not have bothered. The prices are about average so nothing to complain about in that department.

The food is average at best. The wait staff is cold and impersonal. Oh if ya don't have cash they will rudely tell you about the minimum charge for a card is $5 dollars. I Was charged $5 dollars for a grilled cheese to go just to meet the minimum., I was told "I should of known". I was very disappointed and will not be going back and will not be suggesting it to anyone else that I know.

I have been visiting the Kerhonkson diner for over a decade. Much has changed and I think it has everything to do with the staff. Granted, I came during the lunch rush but that isn't a reason to lower your standards. The hostess was rude immediately upon entry but at least we were seated as soon as she could get to us as usual. All the food looked pretty good, but my eggs has a very obvious coarse, curly black hair cooked in it. I was disgusted. I immediately brought it up an our waitress got the hostess. She tried to play it off as "grill marks" so I pulled the hair out and showed her so rudely she asked "so what, you want another one" offering to replace the eggs. I said yes, so she got more. I asked my waitress if it's still going to he on the ticket, and the hostess butts in and says "well since you got new eggs, yeah it's gonna be on the ticket". Just a really bad experience overall.

The staff did not greet me when I walked in, but greeted the two other guests behind me that showed up a few minutes later. They also did not provide any napkins in our order to go, and gave only one serving of butter for two servings of waffles we ordered. This customer service needs to be addressed for future reference if you want people to come back.

Service was good, food was nothing special. Burger was not high quality and mashed potatoes had no flavor at all (nor did the gravy). Recommend the owner reassess food quality if you want this place to stand out at all.

I called in an order for Cobb Salad with no bacon (I have allergies to pork). When I got home with the salad of course it had bacon all over it. It comes with season grilled chicken breast. Most diners with a large menu give you pretty fresh food, especially salads. This obviously came right out of the refrigerator. The chicken was old and dried out. I'm sure some things must be ok here. I've had eggs before but don't order the salad unless it's a lunch special.

I came in for breakfast. Reviews said it was best breakfast around. It was good. But the issue was that the service and attitudes were not so good. I am on vacation and I always find a place to call my own while in town. It won't be here, however. At one point the waitress picked up my check. Didn't know why. Later without a word she slipped it back on the table. I guess I drank too much coffee, because I found a charge for $5.50 and asked. Yep, it was for extra coffee. Weird, nothing written or said, and a curt yes when I asked the manager. I tipped 20% for food. Nothing for the extra charge!

Food was great, came out fast as well. Service, meh, mostly regulars, so I understand. But sticking all the visitors literally in the very back of the back room seemed a little excessive. Free tables up front or in the main room, but that wasn't to be. Something in my coffee cup, it happens, but just dumping the coffee and pouring more in? Would have been nice to get a new cup...and first place where I've been, other than fast food, where they don't offer a refill, oh wait you can get refills at Burger King...other tables got refills...I might recommend if you're a regular, but not if you're just passing through. Not sure how you become a regular though...

I wouldn't even give them one star but I had to to leave a review. My daughter and I went there this past Sunday. They were busy but we were seated right away. Our waitress was very sweet came and took our order promptly. We were told by the waitress that it was going to take about 15-20 minutes to get our order as they were busy. My daughter and I was okay with that. 45 minutes later I asked the waitress if our food was going to be out soon she went and checked and they hadn't even started it yet. It wasn't much just scrambled eggs and home fries. So my daughter and I had somewhere to be do I went over to the register where the owner was and asked to pay for my drink as we weren't going to wait any longer for our eggs and home fries. This is where my problem lies. The owner was so rude to me and I am a local not someone passing through. Instead of apologizing to me she very rudely said to me " what do you expect, we are busy, you can't expect your food to come right out" I explained to her that we waited very patiently for 45 minutes. I paid her for my drink and I will never go back. What a rude arrogant woman.

We sit down, waitress takes our drink order hands us menus. We look over hubby decides on the senior meal that comes with a drink the waitress takes the order, then returns to the table and proceeds to grab his drink and goes and dumps it out after he has already drank from it and states it’s a smaller drink with that meal. I ordered a meal that came with coleslaw and wanted to substitute it with mac salad she states no substitutions allowed ok well I will pay the difference she then states so we will leave the coleslaw off nope I will take it I’m paying for it.Food was average . We get our bill at the end and she tries to charge us 2.95 for the first ice tea she took and dumped. Waitress was not very pleasant and took a long long time to get our meal. We won’t be back and do not recommend if you’re not a local .

My family and I were passing through this town from out of the state and decided to stop at this diner. What a mistake I'm a Vet. I have a severe medical condition affecting my lower extremities and that spasm randomly. I had to stretch my leg out and the callous, rude Karen (she might be the manager or owner as she was not out waitress, but she was an older woman in a pink shirt and blonde hair with grey roots showing ) degraded me in front of my family. Like have some respect for people with disabilities. Would never recommend someone to here as long as that woman is there
