Surf and turf burrito is massive and always hits the spot. The big rolled tacos are super filling and the best around. . Highly recommend.

Albert's is our favorite taco shop in the La Mesa area. They have healthy choices, their protein bowls with rice, black beans, avocado, etc are flavorful and enough for two"regular sized girl" meals. They have lettuce wraps tacos, they are delicious! The grilled fish tacos are fresh, the veggies are always fresh and I love the flavors of the food, not overwhelming. The salsa bar is small but made in house and always fresh and the restaurant is always very clean when we're there. The staff are friendly and service is fast.

Great food with so many choices of dish combos its unbelievable. The cashiers were super friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Salsa was well balance with flavor and spiciness and the complimentary chips and salsa held us down until our food came out. Try it out!

The big rolled tacos (with potato) come fully loaded and are a great healthy, hearty meal. Staff were awesome, outdoor seating was perfect for an early evening dinner.

Clean, busy place in strip shopping center. Always an order of chips with sit down meal. Multiple sauces for you order. They bring order to table and clean up. TV's inside. Outside eating area if you prefer. Not your typical taco shop as the food is better and presented better.

We have been coming to Albert's in Rancho San Diego for 10 years. We come at least once a week for dinner, and my golf buddy and I come for breakfast after early rounds. The food, the service, and vibe in RSD is great! There are many people that cone every week, and though no one yells "Hey Norm!" when you arrive, they know your name when you get here. Manny is an awesome ambassador of the RSD location and will treat you well. GO TO ALBERT'S AND CHECK IT OUT!

My first time here it was so good! Did not disappoint at all. I got the lettuce wrap polla Asada!! I have never been to a taco shop where they have healthy options like this. Soo good 3 lettuce wrap tacos for 10 bucks can't beat that. We can on a Sunday and the customer service was the best I have ever been to, Bernice & the Cook Juanitoyou guys are the real Mvp's here! This is the best Mexican place. We went there when it first opened and we have been hooked ever since. We even had them cater a party for us and the food was fantastic. Everyone loved it and it's hard to please everyone. They have yet to disappoint with either breakfast or lunch/dinner. If you haven't tried this place, you're in for a treat. All Mexican food is not created equal!! This place rocks.

I live across the street from this place and have been there several times. As one reviewer put it "biggest rolled tacos ever!" and they are correct, and they taste great. This looks like a typical taco shop but don't pass this place by. Their menu has combo burritos not found elsewhere and they do a GREAT job on the standards such as the CA burrito, and anything with carne asada in it, (sorry I haven't tried the chicken plates but my friend says they're great). The staff is friendly and helpful, the shop is open late for La Mesa standards, and the food is damn good. What else do you want?

We loved the food and service! The food was fresh and made with care. I was able to have a gluten free and pork free meal (food sensitivities) that were still very delicious. Restaurant was clean, well lit, and inviting.

First time at this location. Great same experience as the Lakeside one. They messed up my order and as soon as we figured it out they quickly fixed it and gave my money back for charging me twice. They handled it all so quickly and easily, I love that. Will definitely be back for the great service and great food!

On entry it looked like a fancier than regular taco shop, but from the moment I started ordering it was just different. The staff was super friendly and the service was Top Notch! They brought free chips and salsa to the table, which nowadays is in heard of. Their green salsa is bomb! I ordered a combo#6. When it came out I was shocked with all the food. I am a big dude and I couldn’t come close to finishing it. One giant plate was a cheese enchilada and rice and beans with a sour cream garnish. The other plate was a shredded beef burrito. 🌯 it has guacamole in it! The enchilada sauce was excellent. Over all super awesome food, service and experience! If you haven’t tried them yet I highly recommend you stop by for lunch sometime. Oh yeah they have beer too! A++

I started coming here because it was close. Found the food is good. Love the complimentary chips and carrots but only if you dine in. The worker bees are your usual, "wish I was some place else" no smile or greeting types. Tv in the corner is nice. Place is spotless. Outside seating is a plus. Prices are in the normal 8 to 10 range. Taco Tuesday is honored but have to ask for it otherwise they will charge the normal price. Covid 19 has changed everything, especially food places. No longer can I dine in and get the complimentary chips and carrots. I asked for them the other night but was told since the order was to go I would have to pay for them. All I want is a handfull of chips and three carrot slices but no. Ok I understand. But all the orders are to go now. I will go back when I can dine in but for now no carrots equals no customer. Typical penny wise pound foolish mentality.

The shopping center, taco shop experience. Clean and fairly quick food prep. I restrict my orders to burritos as they are pretty decent. I have ordered enchiladas and their famous taquitos - I found both of those items way too salty. Their tostada has a thick layer of beans/ way too much for my enjoyment. That's why I gave them 2 stars for food. Also noted October 2022- menu prices are easily $5 more for each combo plate and burritos than the online menu prices. 2 combo plates is easily $30. Too much for this salty, tired food.

The food was pretty bland. Got a Carne asada burrito, and my husband got the carne asada fries. There's just not much flavor to it. Don't know why it has such high reviews.

There was a parking lot, it is a convenient location surrounded by different restaurant! The inside sitting area is not big but there was outside seating too! We spent 10-20$ for each person but I won’t recommend this place at all, drive 5 more minutes to the other Albert’s for way better food and service! We have been to the other Albert’s Fresh Mexican Food and we loved it so much so we decided to give this one a shot! Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with this Albert’s Fresh Mexican Food in La Mesa… The beef tacos and burritos were really good! The burrito was about the size of my arm! That’s all the good things I can say about this place! The layout of the fountain drinks was very awkward and inconvenient, we ordered 3 big rolled tacos but the staff told us that we could only pick one meat which did not happen in the other Albert’s so I was shocked. I asked for a chicken soup and the staff said that she will have to ask the kitchen to see if they have any chicken soup left, she came back with a positive answer, so I ordered it. However, when I received my chicken soup, there was only one small piece of chicken in my soup😨 And the carrots were so hard, it tasted like they just throw some carrots right into my bowl. If you don’t have anything left, just tell me so I can order something else, don’t try to fool your customers and give them the bottom of the bowl.

DECEMBER 2023 AFRICAN AMERICANS BEWARE! My 67 year old husband was... I guess you could say "illegally detained". He went to Alberts La Mesa to pick up our order and the girl behind the counter went to the back to get the male "manager" and locked the door. The manager asked him how could he help him. They completed the transaction and unlocked the door to let him out. The current rash of armed robberies are being committed by GROUPS of TEENAGERS NOT SENIOR CITIZENS!! Yes its scary but doesn't give you a reason to lock in every black man that comes into your establishment. At least let them fit the description. My husband hasn't been a teenager in 50 years....just ridiculous 🙄

I was pretty excited to try this food based on reviews, location and pictures. I thought I had found a gem near my new place, unfortunately, my experience was horrible. Not only was my food cold and had a weird smell it seemed as thought the cooks were in a hurry and did not heated my food. The carne asada meat had fajita seasoning to disguise how old it was. It that was the only problem I would just left it at that, and not go back. However, today i woke up with severe stomach ache, due to food poisoning. It's a shame but that was my experience at this place.

Overpriced and underwhelming. The people ahead of me in line had ordered a burrito, and were complaining the wrapper ripped and made a mess. I ordered a breakfast burrito that had a lot of potatoes and beans, but very little meat or eggs. And the wrapper was thin and ripped. I won't be back.

This place is lazy I ordered a simple bean and cheese burrito and it was horrible. The cheese was all on one side of the burrito melted block sheer laziness. If you cant make a simple bean and cheese burrito u cant make mexican food. Its a disgrace I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat these clowns nasty food. Dont waiste your money here. This lazy establishment will never see a penny from me I rather drive further.

Today I ordered, 2 Chicken Enchiladas, combo plate with Green sauce, after getting home I found the food cold, and my Chicken Enchiladas had turned into Cheese Enchiladas, called up, went back and picked up my Chicken Enchiladas, which are normally great, the food was cold, the chicken so tough it couldn't be eaten. Sorry kids after all these years were breaking up.

I had to repeat myself 3 times because it wasn’t added to the ticket and he didn’t tell the cook. Of course my taco was not well done, I asked politely for it to be made well done due to health concerns. The cashier was immediately hostile and angry that I asked and proceeded to just dump the taco on the grill. I watched as it sat there not being turned once. They then scooped it into the tortillas that they also put back on the grill. I received a burned taco. This is the same place that added guacamole to my taco and scraped it off when they realized the mistake… I’m allergic to avocados. This place is unfortunately overrated.
