10/10 experience! Very spacious cute restaurant. Staff is kind and great! Food is AMAZING!
Had a great omelet and home fries this morning. Excellent friendly service.
Everyone was friendly, and the food was good! They also had the best grits I have ever had. They had so much flavor. And the coffee was good too.
Otto’s was open on New Year’s Day so our group of 6 went in for breakfast before driving home to CT. The staff, food, and decorations were great. The grits were so creamy and cheesy. Loved my burroto, others enjoyed their avocado toast, breakfast sandwich, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. I have this place saved to go back anytime we’re in the area!
After our transmission blew out from the car, we found ourselves walking all across Pittsfield looking for breakfast. We found comfortability and a family feel as we sat at the bar for a few hours for a ride to pick us up. Two separate trips to Otto’s later and it will have very favorable spot in our memories.
Visiting the area and saw in some reviews that they could accommodate gluten free diners so we checked it out. Super busy on a Sunday morning so we waited about 30 minutes. FYI they ask you to wait outside or in your cars. We all got French toast, and one of us was able to get gluten free French toast that she said was delicious! Coffee was hot and yummy! Also we LOVED the home fries! So flavorful! All the food hit the spot and was very reasonably priced. The place has great character! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
whose diner this is we now know - the diner of OTTO and it's a GO! Hungry as ever we quickly sat and gave the menu a good look at. We ordered the soup - Cabbage Potato and Bacon when placed before us we knew they weren't faking. the Reuben appeared and that we shared fries, Reuben and 2 pickles were there. Gobble, Gobble, Yum and we're spoiled we thank the Chef who quickly toiled. The waitress was quick and pretty slick her attention to us was honest - no trick! As we polished our plates and everything was ate we agreed to a return date. Thank you OTTO for the great meal To us you are a REAL BIG DEAL.
Otto's has lovely food, a cozy atmosphere, and great wait staff. I especially suggest their french toast, biscuits and gravy, and their banana bread. The bread is as good as my family's recipe!
What a cool place! Every person who works here has been so kind and attentive. The food is great and the artwork makes for a very fun atmosphere. It’s also close to the hospital, so it’s a great place if you’re looking to eat something outside the waiting room.
*Edit: went back immediately the next day and had Shrimp and Grits with a creole sauce, a mimosa and a Tequila Sunrise for Cinco de Mayo. As a Southern man... that was some of the best shrimp n grits I've ever had; served with rye bread and two eggs on top, man o man I can't wait to go back! ---- Wonderful brunch café run by a wonderful couple! I'm in Pittsfield for the summer on a pharmacy tech contract with BMC and after an exhaustive first week on my feet, it was quite the delight to get to meet Lindsey and Luke and experience their wonderful establishment. Coming to Mass for the first time from Colorado and Carolina, I got a kick out of the specials all being Southern based with grits, and they even had Southwest Ciesta Potatoes. Fantastic Irish Benedict, if a smidge overdone cornbeef hash, an excellent Bloody Maria and black coffee! Can't wait to see them again and experience more of their awesome sauce!
We picked up food from Otto's to take back to our hotel. Getting it take out, could have affected the quality. We ordered the buttermilk chicken tenders with Mac salad, the grilled cheese brisket with fries, and a side of cheesy grits. The buttermilk tenders were incredible. They were crispy and nicely seasoned. The Mac salad was basic but still solid. It was mayo based. I like my Mac salad to be a little tangy but this one was not tangy. The brisket grilled cheese was good. The bread was a bit soggy because of the juices from the brisket. Flavor wise, it was nicely seasoned and tender. It came with pickled red onions which is can be an acquired combination. The fries were incredible. They were crispy and salted nicely. They were the type that had the skin on them in shoestring form. Soooo good! The grits....omg. I couldn't believe how good they were. They had the perfect amount of cheese. It wasn't very grainy. Such a perfect consistency. Mixed with the chicken tenders? Match made in heaven. The service was good. They workers were nice even though they were dealt a less than preferable hand because of the snowstorm. The vibe inside was quirky and fun.
This place is amazing!! Everything was delicious. My kids got buttermilk pancakes and the buttermilk chicken tenders - not a single complaint. I had the Florintine Benny...so amazing. I forgot to take a photo, but this is my plate. Home fries - BEST I've ever had. Those are going home with me! Bacon was perfect. Thank you Otto's for a great brunch!
There was a bit of a wait time, but they were quite busy so it’s understandable. The decor was hilarious, almost exactly my type of humor, and I found it very funny that the staff wore shirts with someone’s bad review of the place on them. I ordered waffles with chocolate chips on top and they were very good. The following sentence is meant 100% as a compliment, but they tasted like Irish soda bread, just a lot less dense, which was great because I like Irish soda bread. I rarely order waffles at restaurants because I usually don’t find them tasty, much less edible, but I have no complaints about these. My own waffles don’t taste this good! The atmosphere was really nice. I liked the lack of TV’s and the color palette. The staff were very nice, and I especially liked the signs everywhere saying that if you were rude to them you had to leave. That’s how it should be. Overall, I would go here again and recommend it to anyone staying in the Berkshires. I think the only thing I disliked was how hot it was outside, and that’s not even relevant to the restaurant. The staff seemed happy to work here, and who knows, maybe I might apply for a job someday.
The service was very good, we had good timing, a line had started soon after we were seated. I liked the atmosphere, the staff's light hearted humility and can do attitude was a neat dynamic. I got the brisket eggs benedict, yuge, couldn't finish.Great succulent brisket, tasted great with hot sauce. Deb's ham and cheese omelet was cooked perfectly and the hash browns were crispy enough and spiced right. Overall, we were happy with our choice.
We came here for a weekday breakfast and had a great experience. It was busy but no wait. Staff is friendly. Our server this morning was super attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable. They are very clearly an LGBTQ+ friendly place! Food was good. The menu is not marked for gluten free options, but the waitress was helpful in navigating options and was aware of gluten contamination. Lastly, the bathrooms are gender neutral and clean! Thanks!
Love how they flip (undeserved) horrible ratings from customers into a meme that works! We had the chopped cheeseburger salad and BLAT on one day with a chicken and waffles on the next. Tasty, great portions and a super friendly staff. While we stood waiting for a table, EVERYONE who walked by smiled and said HI. We were visiting from out of town but can see why it's a good spot for locals. Oh! They also have a bar if you want a bloody Mary to go with your fries (which I tried as a side dish and did NOT regret it!). We'll be back when in the area again!
We ordered delivery for a late breakfast/ lunch combo. The chicken tenders with the hand cut fries were amazingly crispy and flavorful and the honey mustard sauce was delicious 😋 The buttermilk pancakes were super fresh and fluffy with butter and maple syrup. The Texas style French toast was rich and sweet and was awesome with bacon and butter and maple syrup. Would definitely recommend for in house or if you don’t feel like going out get delivery. All good food and packaged well and delivered fairly quickly. Food was delicious across all meals ordered.
Good food, quick service. They just need the open kitchen ventilated better, Other than that small inconvenience it was a good choice for breakfast. The waitress was very pleasant and food portions huge! The homemade biscuit I ordered was bigger than my head and so flaky and delicious! And my husband's omelet was so big he forced himself to finish it. Get there early on Sunday as the line forms quick to get in.
The posters about attitude say it all! One of the posters says they are a family and patrons should not be rude BUT how about they treat customers with the same respect?!?! If you are a party of two, no problem but we were larger (8 with children). The host was not welcoming and had no interest in seating/serving us! Absolutely not child-friendly! The prices were higher than what I would expect for breakfast in this area. The food was fine but my potatoes were burnt and I dare not send them back for fear they would spit in my food. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!
I’m honestly shocked at how we were treated today. It was 29 degrees outside and I arrived with THREE babies. We were told to wait outside in freezing temperatures, with zero empathy or accommodation. Not only was it incredibly inconsate, but the attitude from staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. A simple “we’re sorry, let us see what we can do” would have gone a long way. Instead, we were met with cold responses to match the weather. As a parent, safety and basic human decency matter. There was no reason to handle the situation the way it was handled. I will absolutely not be returning. Do better.
My husband and I were very excited to try breakfast at Otto‘s this morning. When we got there, there were empty seats at the bar and in the bar area and at least two other empty tables In the small main dining room. The hostess, a very rude young woman with dark brown hair pulled back, parted in the middle, black framed glasses and a slight space between her front teeth, which I only point because I hope the owners know who she is, could not have been more rude and unwelcoming. “We’re on a wait, “ she said in a clipped, rude tone, not even making eye contact. “What does that mean?” I asked? She said “people are waiting for these tables.” I asked how long of a wait and she said at least 30 minutes. There were many empty seats Including two empty seats at the bar so I asked about those, which is common place when you go into a restaurant. She rudely said exactly the way she said it when we first came in, “they’re on a wait, too. Do you want to get on the waitlist or not?” My husband asked “ where are all these people that are waiting” and she rudely responded “Maybe out in their cars maybe they’re out walking around— do you want to go on the wait list or not?” I said “no thank you, given your rudeness,” To which she replied to our backs as we were heading out the door, “You wouldn’t fit in here anyways.” I complimented her on her great customer service as we walked out the door. As someone who has worked at a breakfast and lunch small restaurant and has been to I don’t know how many restaurants over the years with good service, bad service, mediocre service, this was the most rude “welcome” we had ever received. I’ll never know how the food is because we will never set foot in Otto’s again. Kitchen Comfort? Not even close.
