It was like stepping back in time, very warm & cozy. Drink was great, crab cakes, French onion soup was spot on. Totally enjoyed. They have a great salad bar. They kept it very clean & filled.
We stopped at The Log Jam for Lunch. My bride had a French Dip sandwich and I had a burger special. We both were very happy with our meals. All meals, even burgers and sandwiches, include the salad bar. The salad bar is very nice with a decent selection of quality items. I had a Caesar salad, marinated mushrooms and a wild rice salad. Everything was delicious! They make their own salads and dressings. and they were very flavorful without being overly salty which is typically the case. We will definitely stop again when in the area.
Great food and outstanding customer service. I love the rustic ambience of this place. The prices are very reasonable and the salad bar is always so fresh. The Log Jam Restaurant takes pride both in the beauty of the Adirondacks and in providing you with superb food and accommodating hospitality in an authentic log cabin. If it weren’t for the aromas of sizzling steaks, you just might think you walked into an Adirondack logging camp of 100 years ago. A pot-belly stove warmly greets you at the front door, wood plank floors stretch beneath your feet, pine logs cut from the mountains above Lake George surround you, and three massive stone fireplaces provide the perfect romantic setting.
I enjoyed my meal at the Log Jam. The waitress was very friendly. The complimentary salad bar was excellent. The scallops were done to perfection.
Yes, I recommend it, we had an excellent experience at this restaurant, in addition to the interesting place, it was pleasant, the service was excellent, the food was very tasty, the soup was delicious and the salads were incredible, very tasty. I highly recommend this place.
One of the best restaurants in the Lake George area. It has a fantastic salad bar with sliced bread, many fruits, veggies, and the fixings to go with. Great value because the salad bar is free with an entree or can be bought separately or can be added to an appetizer. My wife splurged on the crab legs and said they were the best she had ever had. It was so good we ate there twice during our stay in the area. In peak season you will want to make a reservation. I also wish it was a bit brighter inside. Overall a fantastic place!
Every time we visit Lake George, we eat lunch at the Log Jam. $8 gets you the salad and soup combo..... The salad bar isn't very big, but everything on it is fresh and delicious. It also includes several kinds of fresh baked breads to choose from. The soups change daily. My favorites are the Creamy Tomato and the Stuffed Pepper. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is very friendly.
One of our favorite places to visit when we're in the Lake George area. Make sure you have reservations for dinner on the weekend!! The prime rib is always delicious. I had the grouper this time and it was cooked to perfection!! The salad bar alone makes The Log Jam's a wonderful place to eat! I highly recommend it!
The lobster roll was huge - it was actually a lobster and shrimp roll - but it wasn’t the star of the show. The prime rib 🤤 so good!! Would go back just for that and I’m not even usually a red meat kinda gal. Service was fantastic and the space was huge. I was a little hesitant since the restaurant was very busy when we went (Fri at 7:30pm), but the tables were fairly distanced and they didn’t allow people to go to the salad bar on their own.
My family and I were getting hungry while traveling through the Lake George area returning from a few days in Vermont. We stopped at an outlet mall and noticed the Log Jam restaurant near the mall. We thought we would give the place a try. It was mud afternoon, a bit too early for the dinner menu but Log Jam has a wonderful salad bar available and and great lunch menu. Our group placed our orders, two of us getting salad-bar orders and the others ordering from the grill. The service was great and so was the food. The restaurant is clean and has a great log cabin atmosphere that I found appealing. It made me think of being in camp. Log Jam is on the short list of places that I would make an effort to return to again if ever in the area.
A gorgeous restaurant in lake George ,close to the outlet, with delicious food, perfect BBQ,.They have a rich menu, each meal comes with salad -whatever you choose from the salad bar where you will find a good selection for every taste. They offer sea food too.The kids menu is great.Unique cabin atmosphere, nice big tables.Staff is super friendly.Plenty of parking the soup is delicious too..
This place is amazing! The food was on point! The bartender was on point! His name was Anthony! Best martini I have had in a long time. I did a burger which was cooked perfectly. My husband had poutine, which was over the edge great. Salad bar was incredible! This was my first time there, and can't wait to go back! This is a must experience restaurant!!!
The salad bar is amazing. The food is wholesome and reasonable. Service is friendly and attentive. We will be back. Nothing like a day at the outlets with a finish at The Log Jam.
This is by far the best place to eat (that we experienced and others reading reviews) within this region! I’m so sad we stopped here on our last day, I wish it was closer. They had options for my allergy which is so hard to find! And they had a lot of GF options too :) The atmosphere is beautiful. The food is wonderful. The staff are nice! The best for last I guess…. None of our other meals compared.
Service was above expectations. More lobster in the lobster roll than in an entire lobster. Price included salad bar which was extensive and chips. Will return!!! Returned July 2023 to find the same great food and service. Enjoyed a bright room filled with greenery. The prices remain affordable. The lobster roll photo was taken after I had eaten half of it!
I had no expectations but in no time at all I was impressed with the quality of food, the prices, and just after we had our drinks, a storm took out the power and you would have thought nothing happened at all...they were like magicians somehow managing to finish the service industry gesture, while closing for others wanting to come in. We were there enjoying our dinner for at least 30 more minutes. That's professionalism 🔥❤️
Rustic with a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The service was excellent, the wait staff attentive and pleasant. I ordered the Roasted Long Island Duck with rice. I had the lite portion. The duck was tender. The orange sauce, light. For dessert, I ordered the Creme Caramel. The food was excellent and the portions generous.
We stopped in to this fav restaurant for "linner" on 12/31/23. We asked to sit next to the fireplace and were accommodated. We ordered their generously stuffed lobster rolls, which came with soup and salad bar. The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was festive and perfect for a chilly new year's eve day up north. We highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to anyone who just wants to chill. Happy 2024 to the very cool and efficient staff of the Log Jam Restaurant in Lake George, NY.
I loved the salad bar. Too be honest I probably should of just gotten that. The burger I ordered should have been medium, which means some pink but not so much do that it's mushy. My mother ordered medium well and hers was just as pink as mine. But we didn't complain and just ate it. Overall delicious. Friendly people.
I ordered the haddock with carrots, and it was very good. The salad bar totally lives up to the hype. My favorite part, however, is the atmosphere. There is something classic and cozy and nostalgic about the place, which gives it a sort of magical quality.
We were out bird watching but the cold and wind made us abandon our quest. Located the Log Jam and had lunch. I forgot about the never ending salad bar. We had the burger and pastrami sandwich. Burger was cooked to my liking and juicy. Pastrami was lean and flavorful. We will be back.
Our lunches today were delicious. The black angus prime rib was tender. The included salad bar is always freshly stocked with anything you could want. The Log Jamb is always our first stop off the highway when visiting the area.
A group of us four went for lunch. Best salad bar we have ever had. Baby back ribs, perfect. Onion soup, fantastic. Panini sandwich, great. Beautiful Christmas lights and decorations everywhere. Will try to return soon. Service was great.😁
Made reservation for v-day! Amazing food! So fresh! I got halibut with ratatouille. My bf got NY strip steak with THE BEST BAKED POTATO IVE EVER HAD. The drinks are 10/10! Salad bar was highly recommended and didn’t disappoint. Fresh Caesar salad that we ending up coming back for lunch another day. Any sandwiches comes with salad bar as well! What a deal! The SERVICE WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The dessert 😍😍 strawberry shortcake was 10/10! Cant recommend THAT MORE!!!!!! Definitely coming back every Valentine’s Day.
2/1920: Just ate lunch, and everything from my original review 2 years ago is still spot on. Food and service great. They even have gluten free rolls now! Prices are decent too. Great place. 5/2018 We were seated quickly even though it very busy. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The salad bar had lots to choose from, all good. Our food was very good. Bacon wrapped shrimp, should have just got 2 orders! My duck was delicious though, as was wife's steak with mushroom gravy. Could do with out the kids running around, but that's on jerky parents that can't keep them in there seats, or teach them manners. Maybe, a few less plants on the patio. It looked and felt like a humid jungle. Now I have to get a snack because I'm drooling!
We've been coming here when in the area for many years. Too far otherwise, as we live almost 3 hours away. Food is always delicious. We really enjoy the huge well stocked salad bar. Lots of entree ootions. Waiter was friendly and did not hurry us. Highly recommend Log Jam.
An absolutely great place to eat! While expensive, we received the best service, a small but comprehensive and fresh salad bar, and delicious meals. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the dessert was wonderful, and our cups runneth over with beverage. Shout out to our waiter, Jordon, who was kicking butt all night. And boo to the patrons who sat at our table before us for stiffing him.
Excellent. Will definitely be a regular stop when we are heading in or out of the Adirondacks from now on. Great atmosphere, great staff, and great food. What more do you want? All the entries include their very good salad bar (sounds boring but it was great) which also has a bunch of fresh loaves of bread to carve into. It was a perfect lunch at the right price, and leftovers to enjoy tomorrow at the office and remind me I'd rather be back at the lake.
The much talked about restaurant in Lake George area. Great value for money. All sandwiches and entrees include the famous bottomless salad bar, choice of potato, rice or vege side. You can also just have the salad bar as your meal for $14. Definitely an amazing value. Food was great. Steak was perfectly done. Cheesecake was also very good.
This was by far one of my favorite stops in Lake George last week. The Adirondack ambiance had me at Hello. So cozy and inviting. We chose to seat at the bar, which also has a charming Adirondack appeal, and fire place. Danielle was more than inviting, her service was excellent and appreciated all her suggestions! I ordered the lobster roll upon her recommendation that surprisingly came with the salad bar. I have not seen a salad bar so plentiful since pre Covid, it was impressive and well attended. The lobster roll is Connecticut style served chilled with mayonnaise, with a heaping amount of lobster on a warmed garlic roll. Excellent, and the salad bar a huge bonus for $29! We initially ordered beers but I decided to try the Watermelon Margarita that was a refreshing summer coctail with a kick! I loved the ambiance in the back dining room with a terrarium appeal! If our visit was earlier in our trip we would have definitely come back for dinner surf and turf and salad bar again! I definitely recommend and we will be returning!
Laurie or Lory(i) the waitress was amazing! My family came from Boston to see Lake George and we got hungry so we decided to try this place out. Service getting to us was a little bit slow. But our waitress Laurie/Lory/Lori was amazing to us. Gave us great service, made us feel very welcomed. The food was fantastic, the salad bar is a must get. The appetizers of steamed clams, escargot, crab stuffed mushrooms are worth your money. The baby back ribs are bang for your buck, the beer battered onion rings were cooked to perfection, french dip was juicy and the fries that came with it were crispy and fluffy, the poutine I couldn't even finish it, is great for sharing. All in all the family and I would love to come back to try out the steaks next time
Wonderful experience all around. The server Matt was personable, pleasant and had a great sense of humor. Atmosphere was cozy warm and comfortable. I setup reservations 2 weeks in advance for the table near the fireplace which was a perfect pick. Food was well cooked to our liking. Exactly how we like our steak and prime rib. Both were very tender and juicy. Onion rings were delish, along with the button mushrooms, Adirondack wedges, salad bar with excellent choices to choose from and cold plates to keep your salad cold while you eat it. Drinks were splendid. Well put together. My fiance birthday dinner even had a special dessert pick. Thank you the the staff and restaurant for making our experience excellent.
What a charming spot! So glad we were able to dine here during our visit to the area. The log cabin atmosphere is cozy and intimate with great attention to detail and festive fall decor. The staff are very friendly and attentive from start to finish. Their salad bar is excellent with lots of options to choose from. Our entrees were delicious and cooked as ordered. Special shout-out to our server, Stacey R, who was excellent and efficient. Highly recommend a stop at the Log Jam Cabin!
My wife Wei and I actually stumbled upon Log Jam Restaurant in Lake George by mistake, as I was driving towards Vermont, and honestly, it was the happiest mistake I’ve ever made! Ever since that first visit years ago, it’s become my go-to spot every time I’m in the area. The wood décor makes you feel like you’re dining inside a cozy Adirondack lodge, and the location couldn’t be more perfect. The service? Always top-notch, friendly, quick, and welcoming. The food? Incredible! My personal favorite is the lobster roll, so good it deserves its own fan club. 🦞 Every bite feels like a little vacation for your taste buds. Amazing salat bar, I also LOVE their coffee. If you’re anywhere near Lake George, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it, actually, you’ll probably end up like me, finding excuses to come back again and again. Highly recommended (and when you try the lobster roll, you can thank me later 😉).
OMG, Ibe8sh I had taken pictures. The food was sooooo delicious. We were sat right next to the fireplace, it was perfect. Hubby's prime rib was cooked perfectly. My salmon was so delicious. Friend's lamb was so good he sucked on the bones 😃. Our waiters John and Todd were exceptional. Definitely going to be back
The Log Jam in Queensbury, NY was the perfect spot to host our family gathering as they were incredibly helpful and supportive given our large crowd (huge shout out to Manager, Tony for the support). The atmosphere was Adirondack feel and the multiple fireplaces were the coziest ambiance we could ask for. As for service, the waiters were respectful and patient and provided wonderful recommendations when asked. It truly made for a wonderful experience and we are very thankful we chose this spot for our family gathering. The food was incredible and had everyone commenting on how delicious their plate was. Would 100% recommend!
Absolutely phenomenal experience at The Log Jam Restaurant! From the moment you walk in, the warm rustic atmosphere makes you feel like you’re up at a cozy Adirondack lodge. The wood beams, fireplaces, and overall vibe are perfect for a night out in Lake George. The food? Incredible. The salad bar alone is worth the visit. Every dish that came to the table was hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared. If you’re in Lake George, this is a must-stop. Great for family dinners, date nights, or celebrating something special. We’ll absolutely be back!
My husband and I went here for the first time. We fell in love with this place! The vibe of this place is amazing! We were greeted by some lovely girls who seated us at the bar. Nice fire going in the fire place. The place was impressively decorated for the holidays! The warmth of of this place just draws you in. I have lived in this area for now 2 years. We finally stopped by for a date night. Best decision ever! Best bartender! Best drinks! Best food! My husband and and I can't wait for our next date night! The food is insane good! Oh, the salad bar is insane as well! A must go to place!
The menu in completely different from that shown here. However, the Log Jam has marked the several Gluten Free offerings on their menu. I choose the Chestnut Chicken; a creamy sauce over two chicken breasts dish. The menu states that it comes on rice. Mine didn’t, but I was so taken by the salad bar, included with the entry, that I didn’t notice. Others at the table had the fresh caught fish of the day. Each receiving a sizable portion along with a rather large baked potato (chosen side). Be aware their “3 bean salad” does not conform to the definition any of us have. It is simply cooked green and yellow beans with carrots!..?.. Regardless we had a fine time enjoying the food, generously fill glasses of wine and excellent service.
My husband and I went here for our Anniversary. It came highly recommended by our friends. I ordered the Salmon because I was reluctant to order steak because so many times I've been disappointed. The Salmon was delicious but my husband's Black Angus Steak was amazing!! Very tender and juicy. Next time I will order steak. The service was excellent. Salad bar was filling. A very good experience.
I was in the Lake George area and I was looking for food and it was in the middle of the day and I came across the Log Jam. I checked it out on Google and it was rated at 4.4 stars, but I’m always one to go in and try places even if they’re not highly rated because I know humans can often have varying experience and taste and expectations. Well, I started out with the bacon wrapped shrimp, which I have to say paired really well with a paradox pilsner. I ordered the cranberry chicken breast which came with rice which entitled me to the Salad bar. I have to say I haven’t seen a Salad bar since the 70s. Yes I know I’m old. Let’s hold all the comments. And I was pleasantly surprised by everything on the salad bar. I forgot to take pictures of the chicken, but here is a photograph of the bacon wrap shrimp which I would highly recommend and also a picture of the masterpiece of a salad that I made. I also got the bread pudding, but once again forgot to take a picture. Refer back to the above comment about me being old.
As we pulled into the Log jammer restaurant and parked it instantly felt inviting. The small quaint restaurant with beautiful flowers from the outside opens up into a sprawling dinning area that’s seems to go on forever, definitely deceiving from the outside! Our server John and his other serving partner whom I regret to remember his name were outstanding. They worked in tandem and we never waited or went without anything. I ordered the t-bone and my wife ordered the Prime Rib which sells out quickly and for good reason! Steaks were cooked perfectly and the salad bar offered on all entrees really elevates overall experience and value of this place, fresh ingredients being refilled on demand, I mean what’s not to like there. This place is an absolute must if your looking for quality food at fair affordable prices with a great family atmosphere
We had reservations and got right in. The atmosphere is so cute and cozy. We sat on the outside closed in porch with all the plants. The salad bar was amazing! The food was good too. We also had dessert coffee afterwards. More places need to do the dessert coffee because then I’d actually get dessert lol!
Great meal. The lobster roll was large and very reasonable priced. The salad bar came with the meal to my surprise, and that was fresh and filled with a lot of great topping options. The crab cake and scallop appetizers were fantastic as well. We finished with the apple crisp and it was delicious. I will definitely come here again.
Fantastic salad bar! Soooo many choices! Paired with the soup of the day, or the French onion, this is a great meal! Three of our party chose the chicken wings and add-on salad bar. Two of us had to bring wings home as they were monstrous! Perfectly cooked, the hot were pleasantly spicy with a great flavor, while the BBQ were solid and a hit with the teen members of the group. Great ambiance and a fantastic server made for a perfect lunch for our group.
Best filet mignon I’ve ever eaten! Basically melted in my mouth! Salad bar was delicious and fresh, as well as the bread. I wish they had more sides. I’m not a big fan of baked potatoes or rice pilaf so I got some beer battered onion rings. Our server was Alyssa and I don’t think I’ve ever had a server who was so excellent! We sat in the garden room and it was so cute! Next time we are in Lake George we will definitely be back.
The best Steak Diane I have had in a long time. So very tender, nice flavor and good portions. My husband had the prime rib and it was fabulous as well. Salad bar was all homemade bread and salads so yummy. Staff was attentive and super sweet. Every server works with each other. Very nice to see!! First time I have ordered dessert in a while too” Adirondack Log was so good. I will be back again soon.
We love our weekly salad bar, appetizers the fillet kabobs are the fav with a couple drinks. Please keep them on menu.

The food was good, but the lobster tail was over cooked as well as the baked potatoes. The salad bar was great! They have an extensive dessert menu which is great. Our waitress was very attentive even though it was super busy. It was a great experience overall, but I would try other foods next time.
Food was good, salad bar is always my favorite. I was disappointed in the AppleCrisp it was bland & the apples were cut weird, to many uncooked oats in it also. My Fiancée Prime Rib was cooked perfectly, my Sirloin Mushroom meal was good with intrestesting flavor. Of course the Chocolate Mousse was the BEST
We came for lunch shortly after opening. The salad bar had alot of options. It was nice that the salad bar comes with your meal as well as kid meals. We sat in the salad bar room which was nice. Our waitress was nice and attentive.
The service was good. Everyone was friendly and professional. We ate appetizers (crab cakes, bubbly shrimp, mashed potatoes) and salad and were very full. Highly recommended.
We went to Log Jam for the first time yesterday. The atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is log cabin themed. The hosts were very kind. The first table we sat at was in a room with high ceilings and little sound proofing. It was so loud. When we asked to move to a new table, they were very accommodating and the hosts found us a new table in a quieter section within a few minutes. The wait staff were efficient but not very personable unfortunately. The food was actually very good. My husband and I both got a steak. It's so rare that we can go out and have a steak cooked correctly, but they cooked ours both perfectly. I enjoyed the food at the salad bar but the setup feels a little backwards. You have to walk into a cramped area to get your plate and navigate around people. I felt like the plates should be on the other side. The bread was very good! They have a good kids menu with a lot of variety and an option for kids salad bar. Overall, it was a good experience. I would try it again.
Ordered the Filet Mignon, Prime Rib and NY Sirloin. I will rank the tastiness of the meats in that order. The Filet almost melted in my mouth. Was cooked to perfection. Nothing wrong with the Prime Rib just didn’t measure up to the Filet. NY was OK but didn’t expect any more. As always the Salad Bar Buffet was excellent and service was attentive without being overwhelming.
Awesome experience at this nice local restaurant. Restaurant is located near the Outlets in the Lake George area. Our server Matt was very informative and attentive. Ordered the bubbly shrimp, log jam prime rib, and Alaskan king crab legs, and grilled garlic bread. The bubbly shrimp was delectable, shrimp in a butter sauce with melted cheese on top, goes very well with the garlic bread. Alaskan King Crab legs were super fresh and sweet and delicious. The prime rib is so juicy and tender the Log Jam portion was 12 oz which is plenty of beef to satisfy any meat eater. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Lake George area.
We stopped by for lunch. The interior design of the space is very lovely cabin-like. The salad bar is very good. The waiter was very nice and attentive. I order crab cake and it was okay, dry, flat and very salty. The sandwich my husband got was very good. The kid's food was okay. The ice cream was good. Overall it was a good experience.
Walked in on a weekday for some outlet shopping next door. Service was great, decors are cutely Christmas themed already in November. The salad bar is available with the meal, it is okay. But i did really enjoy the lobster roll, it was fresh, delicious, juicy. The crab cake is well seasoned and very rich as well.
The salad bar is great, but a few cold sandwiches paired with potato chips are included among the "dinner" options--more hot sandwiches should be included. The "Rituals" chamomile tea is delicious! The employees were pleasant and professional, both on the phone (important!) and in person. Making a reservation was easy. Note that this place is big and has a section that resembles a greenhouse: walk around and explore!
We waited over 20 minutes and decided to go get our salads from the salad bar. I had to go find a waitress to get water and menus. But after that they were very attentive to us and everything was timely after that. The meal was delicious. The waitress was cordial and polite. What started out as poor service ended in wonderful service. We will be back!

The waiters are always positive, and they have many categories of food from seafood to beef. The one complaint I have is that the sauces that are used on certain dishes are too strong.

Salad bar had moldy bread. Not a huge selection of entrees. My chicken Monteray: the chicken tasted burnt (it was seared and didn't look burnt but def had the taste), broccoli came as one huge almost raw stalk on each chicken filet - very difficult to cut. I ate less than half my plate. Thankfully they did take my entree off the bill. I expected much better quality food for the high prices. Service was a bit slow but came with a smile. Won't be returning.
Servers are short with customers from the moment you walk in. I felt like the host kept screaming at of the customers trying to scare them off. Salad bar has nothing labeled and I got a salad with dressing that I didn’t even like. Atmosphere was okay, just a cabin vibe to the place, but really low lighting so you can’t see anything. All the food was overpriced. Would not come back.
This is not worth the trip. There are a lot of much better other places locally. The salad bar had a few fresh salad fixings on it but it was mostly old-timey salads with sour cream, mayonnaise, or whipped topping; popular items from the '70s. The baby carrots looked like they'd been sitting there days and were dry and cracked open. The prime rib had no outer rub to season the interior- bland. The horseradish has so much fat added to it, that it was clogging my arteries just looking at it. The Aussie tomatoes...well it turns out that they have blue vein cheese on them, but it doesn't say that on the menu. So that comes as quite a surprise when you're expecting roasted tomatoes. They're good, but you have to like blue veined cheese. The scallops that can be added on to the prime rib are breaded. It doesn't say anywhere on the menu that they would be breaded but they're covered with greasy bread crumbs and sitting in a pond of fat. Don't ask about the wine menu because nobody knows what the wines are or anything about them. The bread pudding wasn't made with enough egg batter. It was missing egg batter throughout the pieces of bread so it was dry in places and then like bread pudding (custard-y) in other places. It happened to be pumpkin flavored which we liked, but that was another surprise not written on the menu. Some sort of a glaze would make it a little bit more palatable. Service was ok, but everyone was pleasant. It's weird having a crew of people doing random things for each table; there's overlap and things also get overlooked. The lighting is overly bright in some areas and needs a dimmer, and the other areas has half warm yellow or horrible blue-white which casts shadows on faces and makes everyone look ghostly. Hiring an interior designer would be an idea. If you're ready for surprise menu night, complete with loads of extra fat, average service, meh atmosphere, then head right over and enjoy.
Ok place, like the ambience, but it is a bit dark in some locations. My experience this time could have been better, I'll blame this on the waiter we had. To not at least make eye contact as you go…

While in Lake George, my wife and I had dinner at the Log Jam. The Log Jam is a very casual restaurant serving lunch and dinner with a full bar and log cabin atmosphere. The menu is large and eac…

Very darkly lit, too dark for an eating establishment. The food, at best, was only fair. Clam chowder seems like it came from a can. Super thick, few fillings. I went light and had crab cakes. Tasted more of seasonings, not at all like crabs. My friends split a roast beef sandwich and were not impressed.
Been coming year for 15 years.. and live over 2 hours away south .. come at least 1x a year… 2x in the past month .. kinda getting disappointed. Primb rim had no flavor two weeks ago … this past week again .. food had no flavor. Had reservations for 5 pm called at 411 pm and asked to move my reservation sooner was told they weren’t opening until 415 and that they were full. I arrived at 445 and was taking right in no wait, salad bar was empty, and what was there looked like it had been out since lunch, ladies room was disgusting, wait staff didn’t realize the menus had changed. Service was very slow .. waited 40 mins for our app.. and meal came out 10 mins later ..and wasn’t even hot.. had repeated asked for beverage refills. Not returning for a while.
This restaurant was highly recommended to us by folks who were in and around town as a nice spot for a great dinner on our weekend getaway. The service of our waiter was attentive and cordial, although the food leaves a lot to be desired. The quality of dishes here is subpar to Applebees or other chain restaurants. Food was unseasoned and came out cold. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, this unfortunately is not it.
I give 3 stars. I wanted to give more as our 1st waiter was a man n he was great but than a lady waitress came to our table n what a nasty ding bat the way she spoke to me as if I was a dummy with her words to me "DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING & SHE SAID THAT TO ME WITH A NASTY ATTITUDE... I understood her perfectly fine. I truly wanted to get up n leave the restaurant, but my friends didn't want to go. They were hungry. I ordered med rare steak n it come out well done, also the lady waitress never brought the steak sauce to my table until i was done with the steak slamming the bottle on the table stating she forgot to bring it... my friends order came out wrong as well. It was truly a disappointment. The salad bar food was spoiled n wilted, the station was filthy, and the decor was outdated that I wasn't sure if I was at a restaurant or the fake floral department of Michael's craft store. I do not recommend this place unless you want to have lousy service n poorly executed food.
I will start by saying we were seated quickly for a Sunday afternoon. The waitress had to many tables to take care of which isn’t the waitress fault. The food wasn’t appetizing. I had the crab cakes they lacked flavor and the rice had no flavor. My wife had the clam chowder which was also bland. However the stuffed mushroom that my wife was the only good thing and my son’s Mac and cheese which he really enjoyed. Next will wait and go to the Silo which is always good.
We came for dinner on 10/5 to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. Wait staff was polite but it took quite a while to get waited on as well as receive our order as well as order more beverages. We all ordered no problem. About 10 minutes later we were told sorry the prime rib had run out. Ok we ordered a different steak. We received our dinners and everyone received a baked potato the problem was 3 of us ordered the mashed potato special. Nothing was ever said to us about an issue. We had to question it before we were told oh sorry ran out of that too. This was a Sunday Eve at 6pm. Fairly early to be sold out of multiple things. I was also disappointed to see that they no longer had a macaroni salad on the salad bar. We do usually enjoy dinner at the log jam but this night was not especially enjoyable. I hope this was a one time issue.
I have contemplated on sending this as I've been in the Foodservice Industry for over 45 years. So here it is -Traveling back from the CIA in Hyde Park with my son enrolling in the CIA following his dads career path. On December 10th at about 5:15 pm we decided in a snow event to eat at the Log Jam.. the salad bar was very good and drinks were good. That is where it ends-I had a chicken dish with a Craisin/Cranberry white cream sauce with mash potato. The chicken looked to be grilled- it was so tuff that you had to chew it several times to get it down. I had my son try it and he decided to take his food to go. He had a sliced steak with what seemed to be chimichurri. Rubber chicken-I now know why the term originated. The mash potato was a little watery seemed like the mix that comes cooked in a bag.... Sadly , I will not stop at this venue again-just thought you should know. A sad dining experience -that would have been sent back if I was not wiped out from traveling all day and the College tour.

had to send back 2 end cuts of prime rib 2X as were too rare for us to eat, just ate what we could after their 2nd try....definitely not worth the premium price for the cuts of beef
I've been to the LogJam many times over the years. I always enjoyed the prime rib. I last visited the LG region was a few years ago. I was very disappointed with the meal this time. I will say our server was conscious but didn't follow through with any corrective action on my meal. I ordered the 12oz prime rib. The 2nd picture is what i received. I also included a picture of a complete prime rib from the internet. Can you see what's missing. They removed the ribeye cap portion before they served it. UNBELIEVABLE!! That is the best and most flavorful piece of that cut of beef. I mentioned it to the waitress. She didn't understand what I was talking about but said she would check with the kitchen. I waited a few minutes, hoping she would take it back and serve me an appropriate cut, but that didn't happen. My wife ordered the steak teriyaki and had to return it. Shoe leather! They removed that from the check but charged us $14 for her salad. What sports they are. Wish i took a pic of that Salad and the messy salad bar. Dont know what the problem was, but that was my last visit to the LogJam. That place was legendary back in the day. No more. Caveat Emptor!
The bread was stale and tasted days old. We tried bringing it to the worker's attention but no one followed up with us after, and we didn't get it removed from our table or offered to be replaced. Felt like we were being more ignored than anything else, we were not checked on very often despite empty drinks - and this was after only one drink! The price of the food felt too high for the low service that we got, honestly I know its like a bar restaurant but it just felt like we could have picked a better place to go to. I asked the hostess if I should call and talk to the owner, she said his name was Chris and he will not care. .
Find another restaurant. Food just wasn't good. Potato chips looked like the crumbs in the bottom of the bag. Biggest one the size of a nickel. Chicken salad sandwich wasn't fresh or good.
We were disappointed with my recent visit. The bread from the salad bar was moldy, and although my fiancée brought it to a staff member’s attention, no one followed up to resolve the issue. The sea bass was advertised with roasted corn salsa, but what was served was chewy corn with halved cherry tomatoes. I also ordered a baked potato, which arrived uncut and crispy — most restaurants typically cut it open and offer toppings, but that didn’t happen here. Service was underwhelming. Our table was largely ignored, possibly because most of us chose the salad bar. Our server checked on us only once in 45 minutes, spending more time chatting with staff nearby than attending to guests. When our waitress finally came to take drink orders, it took another 15 minutes before they arrived. For the price of the food, the level of service and attention we received felt far below expectations. On the positive side, the restaurant itself is beautiful, the hostess staff was welcoming, and my sea bass was cooked well with a nice crispy sear. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short, and I left feeling overlooked
Literally sitting here now. Waiting waiting waiting just for a refill on a drink so I can finish my dinner. Waited long enough that my husband finished his dinner. ... forget it. Just get a box. She cleared the table and took our plate of bread and butter without asking if we were done with it. At the start of our visit, we asked a question about a menu item and the response was rude. Felt looked down upon. A bit invisible. Another employee popped into our table a bit. She was nice. Been here lots of times. I think im over it. Thank you nice other waitstaff lady!!
Party of 8. 5 children, 3 adults. For the kids- cheeseburger well done, 2 orders of mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and an order of "log jam fries". Adults- dozen wings, 2 soup and salad bar. Here we go.. started with drinks 4 sodas. They came out carbonated with no flavor. Asked for replacement and received the same drinks as described above after being told they changed the empty soda. Whatever it's a drink.. food time- child's burger was raw, Adirondack fries were charred and disgusting. The soup never made it to the table after the other food arrived. Was told they needed to heat it up. I don't do reviews, normally I'll take the good with the bad but this was horrible. 8 of us drove 3 hours to enjoy the area and find a hole in the wall place to eat a good meal. We struck out on this trip. Paid my bill and had to resort to fast food at that time.
Total tourist trap! I'd say maybe get salad bar ( decent but lot left to ne desired) tongs extremely hard to use. Bread stale and cold plates are odd to pile stuff on. Maple lemonade was literally the best thing we tasted. Was actually quite excellent. As was, believe it or not the escargot! Mains were disappointing at best. Beautiful haddock special was killed and broiled to death, steak and burger were way overcooked asked for rare was med/ well... Server never came by to see how meal was so was nothing we could do. So 5 salad bars, bowl of clam chowder, escargot, one steak tip ( over pasta, gross brown sauce not an actual marsala , one haddock special, a turkey club and burger w bacon ( totally charred burnt and two tiny peices).... waste of $187( prior to gratitutity) . Gross... don't get caught in the "TRAP" too bad super cute inside and out. Service left a lot to be desired also.. older woman w blondish hair.. Live and LEARN through this review. Way better restaurants to hit up in a tourist town!

What people say about The Log Jam Restaurant
The Log Jam: Where Lake George Locals Gather
It’s no secret that Lake George has its fair share of spots to grab a bite, but if you’re asking me where locals truly settle in for a consistently satisfying meal, my thoughts immediately drift to The Log Jam Restaurant. Nestled right here in our neck of the woods, it’s earned its stripes as a go-to steakhouse, but honestly, it offers so much more than just a great cut of meat. What really seals the deal for so many, myself included, is their legendary salad bar. And I don’t use "legendary" l...
