Relatively new steakhouse gourmet restaurant on the top floor of the Rio hotel on flamingo west of the strip. This is a new restaurant in an old space but one that has incredible views. The service was very attentive and they definitely need more customers. Everyone was nice and I was greeted very professionally. The French onion soup was spectacular in their homemade bread was one of the best in the city. Bartender was excellent and custom-made some drinks for me. Overall a very positive experience tonight definitely see myself coming back.

First time visiting High Steaks and it was great! We were drawn to the restaurant since the owner chef also owns our favorite Italian restaurant in Al Solito Posto. The food, service and views are great! Our server Jacinto and his assistants were A+++. We had the calamari, lions mane mushroom, ribeye and the jadori chicken and everything was excellent! Both side potatoes were good too. The complimentary bread with mustard butter was great. Don't shy away from that lions mane as it's excellent almost tastes like a steak but not a mushroom, I was impressed. We will definitely be back! Firstly, I must commend Alex for her impeccable service. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and genuinely warm demeanor were remarkable. Alex went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met promptly and courteously, making me feel incredibly valued throughout my time there. Such dedicated and personable service is rare and greatly enhances the overall dining experience. Secondly, the culinary offerings were absolutely superb. I can unequivocally state that the meal I had was among the finest I have ever experienced. The quality of the ingredients, the expert preparation, and the exquisite flavors of each dish were simply outstanding. Every aspect of the food, from presentation to taste, was a testament to the talent of your kitchen staff. This combination of exemplary service from Alex and truly world-class cuisine has left a lasting positive impression. I look forward to returning soon and will definitely recommend your establishment to family, friends and colleagues.

We came in two nights in a row while staying at the Rio. The food & drinks were incredible, views unmatched, and prices were fair for the quality and amount of food provided (unlike the overpriced spot downstairs called Luckley). Rocco & Kenny were awesome at the bar - very helpful and overall great people. Highly recommend the negroni, brussels sprouts, esthers caesar, the bone marrow, bison filet, and denver steak. Really everything I bit into or sipped on was just top notch at this place. Highly highly highly recommend it!

High Steaks Steakhouse at the Rio absolutely exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We started with the crab cakes and pastrami glazed pork belly—each appetizer was perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The chopped wedge salad was crisp, fresh, and generously portioned. For the main course, the ribeye was huge and cooked to perfection, and the Denver cut with the blue cheese crust was rich, tender, and unforgettable. Even though we had no room for dessert, the staff surprised us with cake pops to celebrate a birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch—and they were delicious. Outstanding food, generous portions, and attentive service made this a memorable dining experience. We’ll absolutely be back and highly recommend High Steaks to anyone looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience in Vegas.

Really had a fantastic date night here. Larae, our server, made it such an incredible night. We loved the modern touches on a classic steakhouse and the food did not disappoint. The price was right too! The outside terrace with a view of the strip was wonderful! Can't wait to bring others.

My friend's usually stay at Rio Casino and we usually leave instead of eating here, however my buddy take his wife on a late night drink date and told us to go check it out. I owe him. Not only was the drinks delicious, professionally crafted and balanced, not only was the atmosphere great with retro classic tables, waiters, and music, but the view was amazing. The food out of control. My friend is a picky eater, so I was surprised to hear he recommended the wild game tartare. The best version I've had now. Salty and refreshing and light. It's topped with lemon zest and olive tapenade miced in. The prime rib sliders were also delicious and not heavy despite heavy ingredients. This prompted us to return the next day for dinner. The item that caught my interest on the way to the outdoor open air patio 50 stories above the casino strip was the equally tall prime rib my wife and I split. Best prime rib of my life. I will be back. Often.

The only negative of my experience was it forced me to go to the Rio, but because of High Steaks... I would go back. 1. Decor - I had never been in the prior place, but this is somewhere the view is all you need. The booths, tables, lighting, etc. all do exactly what they should - get out of the way of the view. With that said, they used a local artist to paint a stunning mural around the center wall of the room. Really well done. Less is more sometimes. 2. Service - they have union labor, but you actually wouldn't know. Everyone we encountered seemed to really be invested in making it a special dining experience from beginning to end... which is often not the case w/ union spots (sad fact). So props to leadership of this restaurant for creating that culture! 3. Food - James Trees has really made a unique steakhouse here. It's not chef-tweezer type food, but thoughtful classics done his way. The steak tartare is with a blend of wild game... delicious and not to be found anywhere else. Crabcakes... another unique take, but I appreciated the differenced because of how great they tasted. Top to bottom of the menu, I enjoyed everything we had. Pastrami bacon, yum. Two different pastas, the bread and butter, salad, lobster bisque, NY Strip, Elk Chop, Mac & Cheese, Scalloped Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and desserts... all were worthy of a re-order, and boxing each and every crumb to take home for later. 4. Just go - I think the pricepoint for this place is what sets it apart from other steakhouses. Young couples needing a special first date without breaking the bank, or friends in town wanting a steakhouse dinner without wasting their gambling money at the table... this is great choice. Locals... free valet & parking! Also, the view makes for a great IG post, which everyone apparently needs these days.

Luxury, elegant, intimacy at its finest! High steaks is truly an elevated experience both figuratively and literally. I love how you were escorted to a private elevator and were sent up to the 50th floor. You entered into a gorgeous velvet drapped room and brought to your table. Every table has a breathtaking view and are well spaced allowing you to feel alone with your party, or interact with others if preferred. The food was exquisite, I had to slow down to savor it more. The dill bread to the table was lovely. Our steaks (I got the bison and my husband got the hanger) came with a side of different seasoned salts and were the PERFECT pairings! The hummingbird cake is a MUST! And the views both inside and out are to die for! 10/10 on everything. This is a MUST on your Vegas trip.

James Trees has done it again! Gorgeous dining room, attentive staff, outstanding food. The Dijon mustard house butter served with the pretzel brioche bread set the tone for a fabulous meal. The Maryland crab cake was the perfect balance of crab and seasoning. Great steaks. I'll definitely be back!

Last night, my beautiful wife and I spent the evening at one of Las Vegas’s better dining establishments: High Steaks—also one of the highest eating spots in the city (pun fully intended). The experience started the moment we walked in. We were warmly greeted by two hostesses who escorted us to the elevator, which took us very, very high above the Las Vegas Strip. The ride itself was an experience, offering incredible views of the city in its entirety. Now, if you know me, you know I’m extremely afraid of heights, but surprisingly, I felt safe the entire time. Even stepping onto the balcony later in the evening, the noticeable buffer between where we stood and the edge immediately put me at ease. Once seated, we were greeted by Larae, who was absolutely phenomenal. She walked us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. Alongside Hernando, they kept us well fed and—just as importantly—well hydrated. Anyone who knows me knows hydration matters. Hashim loves hydration… just not heights. We started the night with drinks. I ordered the Old Fashioned, and my wife had the Penicillin. We were initially unsure if the Penicillin might be too strong since it’s made with scotch, but it turned out to be smooth, slightly sweet, and surprisingly easy to drink—an excellent choice if that’s your vibe. Next came the appetizers. We ordered the crab cakes, which arrived as two generous lumps of crab meat, perfectly crisp on the outside, and the thick-cut bacon slices—about half an inch thick and absolutely delicious. The bread service also deserves a shoutout: baked potato bread paired with a mustard butter that complemented it perfectly. For our main course, we ordered the ribeye, which the kitchen sliced off the bone and prepared beautifully. It was cooked closer to medium—my wife’s preference. While I usually lean toward medium rare, I trusted her call this time, and it paid off. The steak was excellent. We paired it with the mac & cheese and spinach, both of which rounded out the meal perfectly. Somewhere between bites and sips, we caught the Jalen Brunson game-winning three at the buzzer over Indiana. As Knicks fans, that moment alone would’ve made the night special, but experiencing it during an already incredible dinner in the sky made it unforgettable. This trip has truly been a trip all week, and the momentum just keeps building. After we finished eating, we stepped out onto the balcony to take in the view. Full, happy, and still riding the high from that buzzer-beater, we soaked in the Vegas skyline stretched out beneath us. To top it all off, the bill came in just over $200, which felt more than fair for the quality of food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience. This is absolutely a restaurant we would return to and confidently bring family to. Huge thanks to Larae and Hernando for the outstanding service. Five stars all around. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Congratulations to Chef Trees and the staff on the stunning opening of High Steaks at the Rio! We had an incredible experience dining there this opening weekend. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-tier—a truly triumphant debut for this new Las Vegas steakhouse. As locals, we are huge fans of Chef Trees' work and are thrilled to see this success. We highly recommend it and will certainly be back soon!

Food and drink are fantastic. Service was quick and the elevator ride has an open glass looking out towards Allegiant stadium. After dinner out onto the balcony to see the strip

This is my new favorite steakhouse in Las Vegas and I’ve tried almost all of them. Efficient, friendly staff , awesome view of the city, and the food was perfect, outstanding. To begin, the bread was warm and fresh with a unique seasoning and a delicious house butter. The onion soup was rich and thick with plenty of onions, and not too much bread. The cheese baked on top was golden and gooey as it should be. I had the 8 ounce Neiman Ranch filet mignon, cooked perfectly with a tiny bit of char on the sides . No tendon or gristle at all , I ate every bit of it. I got the Bernaise sauce and I believe it was made fresh in the restaurant because it was absolutely perfect. The baked garlic bulb on the side was a nice touch. The mushrooms were also very good. The desserts looked unique and wonderful, but unfortunately, I was stuffed and had to pass this time. When you go there , make sure you walk out on the balcony after dinner for a view you will never forget.

We had the pleasure of eating here on Halloween and it did not disappoint, yes we came in costume. I love the way you are greeted downstairs to board the elevator with a view to the restaurant. Once you arrive the hostess addresses by name, very nice touch, and then she escorts to your table through this gorgeous dining room. Once we were seated you have the best view I have ever seen in Las Vegas! Paco came by and made sure we were taken care of, he did not miss a beat. Paco had mentioned that we must go out on the patio to see the view..OMG!!! Do not pass this up. Our server James was fantastic and Caelan was outstanding. We are not drinkers, but it looked like they had a big selection of wines and cocktails. The hamburger and salsbury steak were really good and I am looking forward to our next trip in January to try the steaks.

Amazing view and food. I had the "lion" which is a meatless steak made from the Lion's mane mushroom. The Mexican Firing Squad was good but a bit spirit forward 😁 Everything was delish, the portions were generous, the service was great. 👍

Currently Chef James Trees’ sixth Las Vegas venture, and the first proper Restaurant in a Casino following quick-casual concepts at The Strat and Resorts World, High Steaks Vegas opened in early October replacing VooDoo Steak & VooDoo Lounge atop the Rio’s Masquerade Tower. At one time a premier Off-Strip destination for locals and tourists alike, High Steaks and other new eateries see casino brass attempting to resurrect a derelict property with free parking, affordable Cocktails and the sort of Food worth getting excited about. Visited very early, service and expediting predictably green across an immense dining room, a few month’s practice now sees High Steaks humming while panoramic views of Las Vegas come at a fraction of the cost of Top of The World, Foundation Room or whatever replaces Vetri at The Palms. No doubt a space willing to take chances to capture locals, a $16 Sidecar or Penicillin roughly half-off compared to three recently-opened Steakhouses at The Venetian, housemade Bread offers a stretchy surface complimented by Mustard Butter while several sizes of Seafood Tower deliver Prawns and Crudo plus the usual Lobster, Oysters and Crab. Taking on several common themes for Starters, Bar Boheme’s French Onion Soup ported over perfectly to the Rio, “Prime Rib Sliders” deliver immense impact while Crab Cakes and Bacon are enjoyable if not “wowing” in comparison to Wild Game Tartare and “Fried Artichokes” that riff on classic Spinach and Artichoke Dip with impressive results. Not an “Italian Steakhouse,” though Trees and team smartly flex their muscles with a couple of Pastas including a “Mac & Cheese” dish that rethinks mom’s advice to “eat your veggies,” diners tired of the same ol’ Steak & Salmon will love “The Hunt” with Boar, Elk, Venison and “Lion” in the form of a Vegan-friendly Mushroom treated to a multi-step process that will impress Carnivores, as well. Offering 18oz of Tasmanian Wagyu Ribeye for less than $90, unheard of in this city post-Pandemic, Trees elevates Midwestern stable Salisbury Steak to new heights with rich Mushroom Gravy while Fried Chicken is first brined and smoked for great depth of flavor. Soon planning a few changes, the Salisbury set to become a “Meatball” Appetizer, current sides range from Creamed Spinach to Asparagus with King Crab and Spuds baked, mashed, fried or dressed up as Chef Joe's Scalloped Potatoes on a bed of Caramelized Onions. Trusting Chef Jake Yergensen for Desserts, a smart choice after his work at Esther’s and Bar Boheme, suffice it to say High Steaks’ “Piecaken” poses nicely for the #gram while straddling a fine line between French Silk and Black Forest while the Souffle and Donuts with impeccable Coconut Ice Cream are enjoyable, but not quite on the level of Hummingbird Cake made exactly as it aught to be.

Absolutely a meal to remember. Partly due to the wonderful attention and service from the staff, partly due to the ambience, and largely due to the interesting items on the menu that we tried. The cocktails were strong and very tasty. Wide selection of meats.

Celebrated my birthday here. Jennifer took great care of us. Made some fantastic recommendations with the denver cut, truffle stuffed mushrooms, and French onion soup. Spectacular views from the deck as well as from the table. Would come back again! Parking is free at the Rio.

I recently tried this place out and it is exceptional. The views are breathtaking and you can see the entire strip skyline just a few steps from your table. The service is phenomenal, it is evident that every employee truly values their jobs. Our server consistently checked in throughout the night, gave a detailed description of the menu, and promptly brought our food to the table. We started with the game tartare, French onion soup, Caesar salad, and the stuffed mushrooms. Each appetizer was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup, one of the best I’ve had, was flavorful, filling, and the perfect amount of cheese/bread/onion ratio. Esther’s Caesar salad was fresh, crunchy, and light. The stuffed mushrooms were creamy and delightful. And the game tartare was out of this world, definitely a must try. For the main, I ordered the filet mignon which was tender and literally melted in your mouth. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese, an unconventional side to steak but I loved it! Chef Trees doesn’t know how to put out a bad dish. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a couple of his restaurants and they never fail in their exceptional service and food. Definitely must try if in Vegas. Did I mention their complimentary home-made bread and mustard butter? That was delectable. I ended the night with the piecaken and could not have picked a better desert, sooooo good. I left high stakes enamored with the food, view, and service.

Chef James and team has executed a high end steak house wonderfully. The best steak I’ve had from a restaurant easily in at least a year if not more. It did take a minute to get seated but the service from our waiter and the rest of the floor staff more than made up for that. The side dishes were amazing and wonderfully flavorful. And the desserts were fantastic. Can’t wait to comeback again and bring all my friends and family.

Enjoyed a great meal with 3 of my cohorts while in town for some golf and a hockey game. Our server LaRae was very attentive and provided great menu and beverage suggestions. They even offered a free (candied bacon) appetizer because the smoked prime rib was closer to medium than the medium rare 2 of us ordered. The food was excellent and view of the Vegas Strip was breathtaking. The only issue we had was finding the correct elevator to get up to the 50th floor. Overall, a great dining experience.

Alex made my birthday dinner special, from one local capricorn to another. She knows the menu like the back of her hand, and her sales skills are incredible. I already need to come back and try the french onion soup, the ceasar was a hint fishy for me. My filet was incredible and cooked to perfection the additional bernaise I added was so creamy and tasty. My lobster was a bit overcooked, for a 45 dollar add on I was a bit sad.The stuffed mushrooms were amazing. Wine selection is incredible, I had a delicious red blend. Even though I was a party of one I was given the attention I craved, thanks to Alex and the attentive staff. Venue is lively and would probably suit a party better than a single person -- although I enjoyed myself. The ride up on the elevator scared me a bit, but just like most things in Vegas the best things are at hidden at the very TOP!

We had such a great experience at High Steaks. Love the deep moody green, the music they played was amazing. The service was terrific. All of that is icing on the phenomenal cake of a beautiful steak dinner. The artichoke appetizer was clever and the bread with mustard dipping sauce—so unique. I was also impressed with the prices. We went all out and spent much less than at other restaurants in Las Vegas. Let’s not forget the incredible views. James Trees does it again.

From the non-alcoholic beer, to the mustard butter for the bread, to the broccolini, the meal was delicious! Our server, John, made this birthday dinner exceptional. John was both charming and patient. John took the time to explain the leanness and flavor of a Denver cut. It arrived exactly as described. The prime rib was perfect. The venison was devoured and the lamb shank was flavorable. Order the key lime donuts & Black Forest piecaken for dessert. Big thumbs up for the lighting! Many steakhouses are so dimly lit that I feel frustrated that I can't see my food or the person seated across from me. At High Steaks, I enjoyed the ambiance because the room and table had sufficient lighting. FREE PARKING!!! We'll be back. Thanks John.

My husband and I dined at High Steaks on Sunday evening. The ambience is old school chic, with a stunning view of the strip. Took some breathtaking photos after diner out in the patio . First of all. Ashley and her team were top notch, attentive and knowledgeable. Cocktails: Woodford old fashioned and Flaming Mexican Firing Squad ( refreshing) Bread Service came with a mustard and plain butter. Calamari was a life changer. Crispy, slight heat with delicious lemon aoli. Bison filet (kitchen carved, since we were sharing) was a perfect medium rare with a great char. Our side was the white cheddar Mac and cheese with broccoli. No room for dessert, just 2 coffees. We are looking forward to our next visit.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, especially if you are looking for a nice restaurant with a view. The dinner tables and the patio have great scenery, which makes it a perfect place to bring guests. 1. The prices for this menu are coparable to every other steakhouse in LV, give or take the 'high-endedness' of the casino. 2. The food preparation was better than any we have experienced, which includes Andiamos, Golden Steer, Heritage Steak, Charcoal Room, Whatever-that-place is called in Ceasars, and more. 2a. Becuase each dish we had was prepared differently than the norm steak-houses do. The bread was baked with herbs and had a mustard butter to accompany. The Louie Salad was out of the box by being more like an oppulant 'salad' (think egg or tuna). The broccolini was sauced with a chilie oil (among other things). The only thing that did not have an original twist was the NY strip, which was cooked to perfect temp, was not overseasoned, and not over 'fatted'. They brought out 2 unique salts to try with it, but they were not needed. They offer a variety of steak sauces to go with your steak, but frankly, if you need a sauce you will miss the taste of the high quality of the beef. 3. All food is cooked/created in-house, and this includes the desserts. No standard lava cake or cheesecake with fruit here. The humminbird cake we had was fabulous, and we will likely go back there for coffee and cake at the bar. 4. Was it 6-stars? There were the smallest of misses, but not one single thing that would prevent us from going back in a heartbeat. And we will.

Outstanding Steakhouse at the Rio! Had an amazing experience at High Steaks while hosting clients. The food was delicious—classic menu items with creative takes that really stood out. We loved the seafood tower and the perfectly cooked rib eye. Great selection of wines and cocktails, and the service was exceptional the entire evening. The city views from both our table and the rooftop deck were stunning and added to the overall experience. For such high-quality food, service, and atmosphere, the pricing felt very reasonable. High Steaks is absolutely worth a visit!

Awesome view. When you are here make sure your step out to the deck and look at the strip that is awesome. I had the fillet and it was extremely good. The service was awesome they were very attentive without being overly attentive if you know what I mean. The restaurant was pretty full when we went there I would definitely suggest reservations. This restaurant is at the top of the Rio hotel and probably the best part of the Rio. I was there for my birthday and I was too full to order dessert but they gave me a couple of lollipops cakes, I am a huge chocolate and this was not chocolate cake but it tasted great

First and foremost, cancel any reservation you have to a steakhouse in LV, and redirect you and yours to High Stakes. This is truly the hidden emerald gem, where you feel completely detached from all of the woes and worries you may have. The food is incredible, the service impeccable and the view…breath taking. I want to extend a personal thank you to Billy, who went above and beyond for my fiancée and I and had incredible menu recommendations (get the frickin key lime donuts and stop messing around). I plan on returning to High Stakes in the near future and recommend that anyone who is looking to celebrate a special evening, save yourself time and up your stakes at High Stakes. Thank you to the team at High Stakes and I look forward to returning soon.

As per usual James Trees food is excellent. The server was very friendly, if anything perhaps a little too over eager to please. His energy level did not match our groups initially but he settled through the dining experience. The General Manager/Sommelier was outstanding. Incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. Not one of those snooty, stuck up kinds you can run into in this city. Stand outs are of course the Caesar Salad, Pastrami Bacon and Sea Bass. Will most certainly be back.

What a lovely experience! The service was fantastic, food delicious, and the view and vibes were on point! All of our steaks were perfectly cooked and the sides were just scrumptious. The French onion soup? Oh my… so delish! We were having a little celebration and the dinner ended with some super cute cake pops. Our entire table was impressed. Would love to come back. ✨

I took my husband for his birthday to High Steaks Steakhouse . This is the newest restaurant at the Rio by acclaimed chef James Trees. The ambience, service and food is excellent. Our server James R. did an outstanding job and was very attentive. The owner and chef James Trees visited our table several times to see if we had any questions to the menu and what we ordered which I considered to be exceptional. The service and interaction of all the employees resulted in a wonderful birthday dinner experience. We are looking to forward to returning to try other menu items many of which differ from your typical steakhouse. According to James Trees there will be additional special and seasonal items added to the menu throughout the year.

Congratulations to Chef Trees on another fabulous restaurant. Service was top notch from start to finish. Private elevator to the 50th floor with expansive panoramic views of the city. The elevator travels up the side of the building. Even has an outdoor area. Food was perfection. Started off with candied bacon and truffle mushrooms. We had salisbury steak and hangar steak. Cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth. Sides were delicious. Mac and cheese to die for. Extensive wine and drink menu. Even have vegan and wild game options. Our server Ashley was very knowledgeable and attentive. A perfect evening of fine dining for our anniversary!

Read about this being a new place to be Vegas steakhouse, so I thought I would give it a try. I felt the menu definitely aligned with my likes. The food did not disappoint, but little was exceptional. As for atmosphere, the view is of course cool; but it is noisy and has too many people hustling about and commotion. The better restaurants somehow pull off doing behind the scenes type stuff to where you somehow don't notice. Not here. Again, the food was great; the dish I was most impressed with was the scalloped potatoes.

Came in for light dinner before a show. Have been to all of the other Chef’s restaurants and always was impressed by the outstanding food and service. Was looking forward to entertaining my out-of-town visitor and started with the lobster chowder ($24) , Although the presentation was stunning, it was a tepid bowl of brown watery broth that had absolutely no more than 2 teaspoons of small diced lobster and potato at the bottom that I had to fish out. I had seen pictures posted online by others that had actual lobster chunks and was a completely different color. Maybe someone else was in the kitchen. My guest ordered the French onion soup and I realized I made a mistake because her soup was wonderful. Full of wonderful, thick Gruyere cheese with a beautiful broth. The bread service was beautifully presented, and the bread has a wonderful rosemary flavor. The accompanying butter had a mustard accent which was very good, but would rather of seen that with a plain bread and had a plain butter with the rosemary bread so that the flavor of the bread itself could shine, and then the flavor of the butter could shine. Chopped salad was nicely presented with a heavy dill presence. I love dill, but maybe a little much. The shaved avocado was beautiful, and the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Beautiful views, room is nicely appointed, however we were sitting near a door where people kept coming and going out to the patio delivering a frosty breeze with cigarette smoke every time. Overall OK experience… I hope they fine-tune a little bit. Bonus for locals is free parking and no strip traffic.

We recently hosted a large group dinner at High Steaks, and overall, it was a great experience. The food quality was outstanding, and our guests truly loved both the meal and the venue. The seafood tower was a huge wow-factor moment - beautifully presented and more than enough for our entire group. That said, a few service missteps kept this from being a perfect experience. We did not receive the bread service despite pre-ordering, the wrong appetizers were initially delivered, one guest’s entrée arrived late, and the sauces and sides came well after the main dishes were served. For a large group, timing and coordination are especially important, and these issues were noticeable. That said, the staff was kind, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food itself was exceptional. We will absolutely be back and look forward to seeing the service continue to improve for large parties.

I really liked the view. It truly was one of the best views I've seen anywhere. As for the food... hmmmm... where do I begin? Both filets we got were pretty undercooked. The lobster tail was a good size but really lacked much flavor. The butter sauce they include just tasted weird, almost like cheese. I wasn't really a fan. The potatoes augrauten were ok but nothing spectacular. I felt like the flavor combos the chef used were just not really pairing well. When we got the $330 bill, we both decided that, unfortunately, the dinner was just not worth it. Service was great as was the view. I would maybe come back and try something else.

Made a reservation via open table and they never got it. They however found a very nice seat for us. When you enter its very dark. The presentation of the food is great. I understand that you get a 10-15 percent price bump because of the view. That being said everything was over salted. The pastrami bacon tastes great. The wild game tartare was heavily salted. The brussel sprouts and fries were very good. The smoked prime rib was ok. Our server was amazing. Will try it again in a couple months when they find their feet.

I took my husband for his birthday even after reading some 1 star reviews because I was going by the reputation of chef/owner James Trees. It was a disappointment. There were no clear directions on how to get there, elevator to the 50th floor was behind closed doors next to the tattoo shop. The food was mediocre compared to his other restaurants. The view was great and they did seat us by the window as requested. We ordered a Cosmo, a pasta dish, French onion soup, seafood Louis. There was "bread service" with mustard and regular butter. Our server Ashley was personable and attentive. However, this was not a great experience. Prices are high, not matching the quality of food. Also, it was supposed to bring the old Vegas vibe of dressing up for dinner, what we saw were a lot of people dressed like they're going to do yard work, jeans, t shirts and very casual attire (not business casual). The birthday cake pop tasted like box cake mix. Never going back.

Sigh I had such high expectations for this new restaurant. Visited on Sunday [email protected] to celebrate my birthday. First let me say that the service was awesome. The atmosphere was amazing it was such a gorgeous view from up there over the city, it's on the 50th floor of the Rio. I don't know why they don't have the patio set up for serving dinner, but they didn't. The downside of the atmosphere was that it clearly said business casual on the website for dress code and they let in some people that looked they just strolled up there from their hotel rooms. Shorts and tshirts with flip flops kinda stuff. I ordered a filet mignon, $76, and a baked potato, $16. I ordered my filet medium, while the inside was a beautiful medium in my opinion, the outside was burnt, to a crisp, not all over, but over enough of it I had to filet my filet to cut off the burnt parts. It was also somehow dry. I'm not sure how you can cook a filet dry, but they managed to do just that. The baked potato came with small sides of broccoli, white cheddar cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream. All on the side. They said they put butter on it, but it sure wasn't much. Here's the weird part, the broccoli was refrigerator cold, when I asked the server she took it back to the kitchen and they said that's the way it's served. I guess to go along with the luke warm potato. The bacon chunks, not bits, were also luke warm. Not what I expected for a $16 baked potato! My dining partner ordered the Classic cut smoked prime rib, $69, and Chef Joe's scalloped potatoes, $17. The meat was ok, but the only part that tasted smoked was the thick as can be au jus. The meat itself didn't taste smoked to either of us. The scalloped potatoes on the other hand weren't even cooked all the way through. Some of the potatoes were still cold in the very center. We both had drinks, one Cosmo and one Coors banquet beer so that added to the price. It also took long enough to get our food that after we got our drinks we went outside on the patio, had a cigarette, took pictures, and then went back in and our food still wasn't ready. Enter sever coming over to apologize for the delay, TWICE! I don't have a specific amount of time cause it never occured to me it would take that long and that I should be watching it for an exact time. The server was so kind as to bring out the free, as far as I know, little happy birthday dessert at the end. That was very tasty, I have no idea what it was. Now the thing that really bothered me was that when we got done eating we went back out on the patio and I assume it was the head Chef James Trees was sitting at a table with two other people chatting. We were out there for at least 20 minutes and he was there before and after us. Perhaps if had been IN the kitchen our food would have come out properly. Now I know it's a new place and hasn't been opened long, but come on these are rookie mistakes. Not a $300 for 2 restaurant. Yes we probably should have said something about the food, but a) by the time we got it we were starving, and b)the snip we got when we asked about the broccoli being cold made it clear they didn't care.

Locals beware. My dear friends and groomsmen take me on what started out as a nice dinner to celebrate my upcoming wedding. We ate good and the food was good but the service was lacking at times, forgetting to bring a salad and mixing up a few mains when they came out. Minor mistakes sure, but clearly shouldn't have happened especially when charging some hefty prices on their menu. One of my friends didn't get his salad until we were all about done, because the waitstaff/server all but disappeared and considering they didn't sell everything to us at once we thought it was coming. That was the most egregious example, if you don't count the fact they tried to bring the groom the check when everyone else made it clear I wasn't paying for a thing. There were other, smaller mistakes that are just not acceptable when charging those kind of premium pricing for a restaurant in the Rio of all places, renovations or not. There are no table captains, they were not sweeping crumbs or changing linens in between courses, it isn't white gloved service and the restaurant by all accounts wasn't packed so maybe it's a slow night, but that doesn't excuse the fact that when tipping based upon performance (because tips aren't to be EXPECTED, they're extra for EXCEPTIONAL performance), we are met with a scene straight out of the Sopranos. We're a hardworking, civilized bunch, so instead of acting out like Paulie and Chrissy over a tip that was well beyond $16, my best man, who footed the whole bill pulled out an additional 10%, and told this dude to take it and get lost. He magnanimously refused at first, but ultimately took it. I regret that it came to such a head, ultimately being shook down for an additional gratuity that's given out based on performance and trying to embarrass the table in front of the dozen other people dining there when we didn't agree the service was up to snuff, the money isn't the issue, but it's the principle. I will certainly never return, and I will tell anyone who's willing to listen that High Steaks Vegas just is not the place to come and spend your hard earned money on. There are not many places that can cook exotic and game meats well, which makes this a real shame, but it's certainly not worth being extorted, akin to charity shaming because that's exactly what it was, charity, can't even write it off either. Tips are earned. I'm a young man who has worked in service all through college and I've never had the gall to pull a stunt like that. I've done far more for far less, both in terms of a payout and for genuinely rude people. It's the first time we've sat down for a meal in over 7 years and this ugly memory is unfortunately associated with what was supposed to be a good experience. Check posted for proof. Date was 10/23/25. I ain't coming back no matter what you offer me, so don't bother.
