Great dog-friendly multi-purpose establishment — we had happy hour drinks and eats but there’s also coffee drinks and pastries. There’s a really cool back bar that we’ll visit next time. Cool outdoor seating both in front for the coffeehouse and then on the side for the back bar. Don’t miss if visiting Leonardtown!
The BLT was superb. I have never had a better one. Our food was delivered quickly and our Server was very attentive. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable but loud which is understandable. I can not wait to return.
An Ode to the Holy Trinity Behind the Bar In the beginning, there was chaos— dry throats, sad souls, a world unshaken. And then Social Cocktail Bar appeared, glowing like a neon cathedral at midnight, and my life? Never the same again. Behind the bar stand the legends— Hanna, with laughter sharp as citrus peel, funny in that effortless way that saves lives without ever asking for credit. She pours joy like it’s muscle memory, like kindness is just something her hands know how to do. Megan, radiant and unbothered, beautiful in the way storms are beautiful— commanding, magnetic, devastating. She could shake a cocktail or a whole room’s emotional stability with one raised eyebrow and a perfectly timed joke. I have seen people fall in love mid-sip. And Erin—oh, Erin— the soft magic, the steady glow, the kind that sees you even when you’re trying not to be seen. Her smile could convince you tomorrow will be better, and somehow, impossibly, it usually is. Together, they are alchemy. Funny. Kind. Beautiful beyond reason. They don’t just make drinks— they resurrect spirits, absolve sins, turn bad nights into stories you’ll tell forever. And Social Cocktail Bar— you didn’t just serve me cocktails, you rewrote my narrative. You taught me that community can live on a barstool, that joy can come garnished, that sometimes survival tastes like lime and salt and laughter echoing off brick walls. I walked in a person. I walked out a believer. Dramatically altered. Emotionally hydrated. Forever changed. Amen. 🍸💔✨
Stopped by a number of times over the past 10 days…all good and satisfied. Highly recommend for those unfamiliar or looking to broaden the Leonardtown Square experience. Regardless of your desire beyond the normal coffeehouse expectation, SOCIAL is more than likely to have your desired fare or offer a new blend to an established dish or drink.
Social Coffeehouse & Cocktail Bar has become my go-to spot in Leonardtown, and for good reason! Whether I’m stopping by in the morning for their expertly crafted coffee or returning in the evening for handcrafted cocktails, this place consistently delivers an exceptional experience. The coffee is outstanding - they roast it in-house, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Every cup is perfectly balanced and fresh. The morning atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for starting the day or catching up with friends. When the sun sets, Social transforms into a vibrant cocktail destination. Their mixologists use fresh, local ingredients to create incredible craft cocktails, and their extensive whiskey selection (including locally distilled spirits) is impressive. The cozy fire pit tables and inviting ambiance make it the perfect spot for an evening out. What really sets Social apart is their commitment to the “Buy Local” philosophy - from their in-house roasted coffee to locally sourced ingredients in their food and drinks. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, making every visit feel special. Social has become more than just a coffee shop or bar - it’s a true community hub where Leonardtown comes together. Whether you’re looking for your morning pick-me-up or a place to unwind with friends over cocktails, this is THE spot. Highly recommend!
So we were stayed in leonardtown for a week. Awesome town! We hit almost all the restaurants and Social we went to more than once and both for dinner, breakfast and just for drinks. Great vibes here. Drinks were solid food was good and staff was great. We got the seasonal drinks, and the steak o a pile of fries what was awesome.
I always have a great time when I come here! Great food, coffee, mixed drinks, and atmosphere. The people who work here love their jobs and are always fun to chat with. I would highly recommend social to anyone who is new in town and wants a go to place for coffee and conversation.
After talking with Kelly, who is basically the customer service equivalent of a guardian angel mixed with a detective, everything made sense. She doesn’t just shrug mix-ups off; she investigates. Full-blown forensic analysis. Calm, professional, genuinely kind, the type of person who actually cares about solving things the right way. And unlike some places, there’s no secret “firepit seating fee.” The firepits are just there doing their warm, flickering thing, asking for nothing but propane and attention. You can sit by them, sip your drink, and feel fancy without owing the flames a dime. The drinks were cold, the bartender was chill, and the vibe was impeccable. Cozy lighting, people laughing, that perfect hum of conversation that makes you forget about time. Social just nails that laid-back yet slightly classy energy where you can show up in jeans or a button-up and still feel like you fit right in. Kelly deserves an entire shout-out paragraph on her own. If something ever seems off, she’ll find out why. She’s got that mix of patience, humor, and “let’s actually fix this” energy that’s rare in customer service nowadays. I’m pretty sure Social is the place it is because of her. If you want great drinks, good people, and a staff that actually gives a damn, go to Social. Order a beer, sit by the fire, and enjoy the warm glow of firepits that are on the house.
Love it! A group of 10+ ordered smoothies, coffee and cold drinks and flatbread bacon ranch...Delicious!!!! Excellent customer service! Love it! Only one thing, I am allergic to dogs and there were dogs all over the place, maybe an are should be reserve for just customer with dogs, and I am not talking about service dogs.
We went for mid-morning breakfast. The food was good. It was fresh and you could tell it hadn't been sitting under a lamp waiting for someone to order it. I tried two different coffees. Both were hot, full of flavor, and well balanced. Not too sweet or not sweet enough: spot on. More importantly, the service was GREAT. The young lady at the register taking our order was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable of the products, and carried a very positive attitude. Although it was a longer wait than, say Starbucks, it was well worth it for the freshly made meals and coffee (coffee arrived first.) Visiting from out of state, this was by far our best experience in the area in both customer service, coffee in general, and breakfast foods. If you're in the area, stop by and grab a drink. I doubt you'll regret it.
Quaint and well planned coffee shop with food. I didn’t have any food, but I did have the coffee which was very smooth and mellow. No bitterness like you can find in some coffees. Now you may be asking why would a sleep guy be having coffee loaded with caffeine? The answer is because it’s morning time and there’s nothing wrong with having a nice cup of coffee to start your day. Remember my rule, though “when the day is half, it’s time for decaf.” See a video of this business and learn more about your own sleep health by visiting me on YouTube @sleepsciencetoday
In our opinion the best spot in Leonardtown. From sun up to sun down this place has a TON to offer. Fantastic coffee / morning caffeine selection. A hefty breakfast / brunch menu and many many awesome options for lunch and dinner. This place is a must visit when in town or even being near by. We were with a large group and all ordered different menu items to share and everything was fantastic
The food was absolutely incredible—I haven’t had seafood this good since my time in Europe. Truly impressive! My daughter loved it so much she finished all of hers and then most of mine too. Our waiter was also exceptionally patient and sweet, which made the experience even better. On top of that, the relaxing ambiance really made for a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend!
We were in Leonardtown visiting our cousins and they took us to this place. What a great atmosphere and great breakfast food and coffee drinks. The only thing we didn’t care for were there hash browns, there was not much to them. Service was quick at the bar and our waitress was very friendly. We all enjoyed our meals. There was a long line when we arrived but we went to the bar area and found seats and got service right away. There wasn’t very many seats at the bar and I think we got lucky. We found this area relaxing. The back room look so inviting that we would love to come back to enjoy some drinks at the bar when it is open. It was a great breakfast experience for all of us!
Very cute and trendy spot. It seems like the local go-to for coffee in the morning and cocktails before 10 p.m. (I believe they close around midnight). Leonardtown tends to shut down early, so this place definitely fills a needed niche. I ordered the Everything Bagel & Lox, and my friend had the Social Classic. He got a smoothie, and I went with an Irish Coffee - very on brand for me to try a cocktail at any time of day lol. The service was great, and they even handled my English friend pronouncing "Chagachino" with patience and humor. Big win there lol. This place is worth a visit if you're in town.
The Good Girlfriends of Charles County descended with prior arrangements on The Social on Fenwick Sat 5/4. We had a blast! Thank you Kelly for your coordination AND Blake for his hospitality. Seated in the back (their party room was already reserved). Our tables were reserved with markers and the clientele honored them.. One recommendation is they might consider opening the back bar earlier than 3pm on weekends. The food selection was savory for brunch. I had the MVP that was lovely. A couple people in our group enjoyed the casserole and their harvest cookies . The Mimosas Tower is a great deal. Chill atmosphere and great staff. The ordering at the front counter does move relatively fast - the menu is visible while in line - helps everybody if you know what you want when it's your turn. Whether a couple, family or group- a great spot. THANK YOU for having us,,!
The place was very busy and the building itself is beautiful, but unfortunately the food was underwhelming and overpriced. I ordered the “build your own,” which states that it comes toasted unless otherwise specified. The bread was barely toasted—if it went into the toaster at all. I did pay an extra dollar for sourdough, which was good quality, though still not toasted. I also paid an extra dollar for an egg that was so thin it was practically see-through, another dollar for bacon, and two dollars for avocado. I expected actual avocado slices, but instead received a very light green smear on just one piece of bread. I’ve attached a photo of the sandwich after removing the plain slice and combining what little was there. In total, I paid $11 for this sandwich. It leaves me wondering what the $6 “build your own” price actually covers, since basics like egg and bacon appear to be extra. Overall, not a good value for the price.
Ordered bagel and lox. Very good My wife ordered a cocoa. Had no flavor, asked the barista to replace it. She did but seemed annoyed. Gave it to my wife. Nope. Swiss miss is way better. Anyhoo explain ed the issue, same barista. Response "well I'm just going to make it the same way" I mean wt*. Unfortunately my wife was so pissed, all the rest of the positive went out the window. Mgr on duty when I called, Emma, was very sweet. Waiting for a GM call. Also, very very loud, but, not their fault. Felt like I was in a club. Had to scream to hear.
This place looks great. It has really good atmosphere and concept. You can have breakfast or brunch and they they open up a full bar later in the day. With that said, I think maybe I came on a off day for the staff because the service was terrible. I came with a party of five and every one in my group ate and drank and was done without me ever seeing my order. When I go to inquire as to why I'd been waiting over thirty minutes the cashier who took the order said the wifi went down and she had to verbalize the order to the person making a drink but she forgot to speak with the kitchen. Okay cool so that is understandable. Everybody makes mistakes. Nobody no problem. They said they're going to make the order right away I said. Okay cool. I'm going to go back to my seat and wait another 10 minutes goes by the order. Still not here and then a waitress brings the order to my table wrapped up in a bag to go which is not what I wanted because I was still at the table with my group. So I opened the food to eat and the order isn't correct. I go back to the counter and ask them if the order could be corrected and they say right away. Then they come back and they are unable to complete the order correctly because they were missing ingredients. At that point now it's strike 3 and I'm frustrated. I understand that things don't always work out the way you want them to, but I feel like what frustrated me the most is that the cashier and the server could not bring themselves to say "my apologies". Not even once. Now I'm not sure if the manager picked up on my frustration but she walked over and she fixed everything. Gave me a refund and said she was sorry. I was glad that somebody actually cared about the customer. I ended up not eating the sandwich so I'm not really sure how it was but the coffee was decent.
Ohhh, I see a message on your website to you and no reply. So I guess I will go the route of everyone can see now. I went there and waited in a long line(which is perfectly okay it was busy) but when we got to the counter the cashier was absolutely out of pocket and rude. She was smacking on gum while me and my sister tried to order I ordered my drink and she cut me off so I had to say “my sister still needs to order”. My sister ordered her drink and immediately got interrupted and I got asked my name while my sister was saying her food order (the cashier interrupted her instead of ringing it in) so I said my sister still needs to order. So the cashier put in our drinks and food(BUT said NOTHING about the wait of 2 HOURS ON FOOD.) But we get our drinks in 15-20 minutes which is okay i get your busy. But at 40 minutes my sister went up to the blonde women behind the counter (who was the rudest and meanest barista I have EVER met) and said “hey I was wondering if you could check in on my bagel I have been waiting 40 minutes” in to which the rude blonde lady replied by laughing in my sister’s face and said “ha 40 minute’s, people have been waiting 2 hours for their food” so the customer service is as absolutely absurd from this place. What business allows the workers to laugh in someone’s face when they asked a question politely. I am furious I tipped these rude people: I want a refund for the tip and bagel AT RHW VERY LEAST. DO NOT EVER COME HERE. If your wanting good service would never recommend here. I have never received worse service and I have never met worse and more rude people than here. I expected a call or text when I PRIVATELY sent them a message to be polite but now everyone gets to read this:) Also, after the barista laughed in my sister’s face and told us it was a 2 HOUR WAIT for a SINGLE bagel, my sister said “hey I am gonna go but could you please hold my bagel behind the counter when it is ready and I will be back in 1 hour when you said it would be ready.” When we came back it was on a shelf(that was for merchandise and it was just moved over to fit the orders) right where u walk in wit 15-20 other orders and it was Cold and soggy. It was definitely ready 5-10 minutes after we left and if the lady had checked on it we would have waited but instead we got laughed at and got talked to so rudely that we never want to come back and do not want to recommend this place to any one.
I used to love coming here, but the quality has really gone downhill. My “sandwich” looked like it lost a fight with the panini press — a smashed croissant that tasted as sad as it looked. The small latte (even with an extra shot) somehow managed to be weak and watery. With tip, it came to about $17, which is a lot for disappointment on a plate. The wait is always long, and unfortunately, the food no longer makes it worth it. This place used to have charm, but now it just feels like it’s coasting on nostalgia and burnt espresso.
