It’s refreshing to find a restaurant that doesn’t think Cajun/Creole consists of just dumping a bunch of cayenne pepper into a dish. The service was fantastic and the food had the perfect balance of flavor with just a hint of kick. The Zydeco playing in the background and Abita beer definitely were the cherries on top of the cake

I got the crawfish po-boy with a cup of gumbo lunch special and my boyfriend got the roast beef po-boy. They were SO GOOD, the gumbo was to die for, the beef was so tender and my po-boy was just amazing. Cheap too! The people were very polite and great. I would definitely reccomend!

This place is amazing. The Chicken and waffles are beyond wonderful. Staff is amazing and have never been disappointed eating here. If you miss traditional Louisiana food, this will remind you of home.

Coming back from Austin to Houston and decided I needed some gumbo during this winter. This didn't disappoint! Boudain balls and gator snaps is what a friend and I decided to order. Of course desert was phenomenal, try the chocolate bourbon pecan... the best pecan pie I've ever eaten in my life. HIGHLY recommend. ALISHA was super sweet. Thank you!

What a nice surprised on my trip home to San Antonio. This place is a true gem. I stopped in and got the poutine which had a fantastic Cajun flavored sauce with actual roast. 😋 The NOLA trio didn’t disappoint with the gumbo being the star of the show. I will be back for sure!

I must admit. For a little city boy like myself, I couldn't believe just how good & fresh this little country seafood restaurant was. I'll 100% for sure be back soon! The Seafood gumbo & stuffed redfish were absolutely amazing.

We got into town about 20 minutes before they closed but they welcomed us in. We tried the sampler with beans and rice, jambalaya, and gumbo; and the catfish po'boy. The catfish was out of this world good. Seasoned so well and fried to perfection. Cannot recommend enough. The bread pudding had a good flavor and the sauce was really good. We took it to go, so it was kind of dense by the time we ate it, but probably because it was an hour later. If we are ever in the area again, we would stop for that catfish!

I visited this place on a family recommendation. I traveled with my family from San Antonio, and the food was truly delicious. It was worth the trip, getting to know the city, and trying the food at this restaurant, which by the way, has incredible service. A 10/10.

Was on my way back to Camp Swift when I pulled in to this little hole in the wall spot. Dynamite definitely comes in small packages. I walked in to find a very cozy and clean atmosphere with some Cajun music playing in the background. Erma greeted me with a smile and made sure my dining experience was everything I hoped for. I started off with Fried Frog Legs. Perfectly breaded, tender meat that just fell off the bone. The seasoned butter that was placed on the Frog legs added a nice flair to the flavor. For my dinner I ordered a Catfish basket with a side of Dirty Rice. They definitely give you your money's worth. Nice big chunks of flaky Catfish wrapped in seasoned cornmeal......But my favorite dish had to be the Dirty Rice. Between the flavor and contrast of textures of rice, pork, green onion....I will definitely go back again at some point...even if it's just for a bowl of Dirty Rice.

Small local buisnines. If you are in the Austin area you must try this restaurant. Clean, friendly, excellent service and excellent food. You will not regret this Small Cajun restaurant. As they say good things comes in a small package.

Definitely going back! Celebrated a birthday here and we ordered plenty! Stuffed Redfish, gumbo, red beans & rice, catfish, chicken fried chicken and more lol. Great food! Go eat!

This was absolutely incredible. Today, I shared the Pouline with my buddy who took me there for my birthday. He had the roast beef po' boy, I had the fried crawfish. I had beans and rice with mine. The waitress handled it great, as she was on her own, really personable, and got everything, right. And the food was excellent as always.

Brunch on the weekends is a must here! Shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. Very good options. The service was great, she is family and was able to tell a little history about the restaurant. If you are thinking about going here just do it because it’s really one of a kind.

Stuffed Red fish with crayfish sauce AMAZING. Get extra sauce it's worth it. Re-heats so well. Always excellent service dine in or take out. The bread pudding is so good and beautiful

Went for lunch and had the special -Cup of Gumbo and the Roast Beef Po Boy. It really hit the spot. Great service by Carrie. Maxine's is a comfort food spot when you need that NOLA fix. #MattGoodEats

Food was bland like cafeteria food and the gumbo was watery luke warm and bland smelled kinda like ammonia sour why is it so light didn't even eat it. Only one waitress slow service. I won't be back.

The customer service was really good. I ordered online and unfortunately had to wait an additional 30 mins after the ready time for my food. I can understand if it was super packed, but it wasn't. The real bummer part for us was we ordered seafood (fish and shrimp) and it was heavily battered, not seasoned, and some pieces were not fully cooked. I didnt go back and complain as every place is allowed to have a not so good day. I hope that future dishes are better as we unfortunately couldn't eat our food.

I have had catfish fillet, strips, and nuggets on many occasions since it is one of my favorite dishes. So my spouse ordered catfish strips, and I'm trying to figure out if these are nuggets or strips. Now, don't get me wrong, slice, dice, and cut the fish however you like, it's your restaurant. But when you say strips, please let customers know that the fillet has been cut into many pieces and not in half. It's not what I expected, and making the smart ass comment to "order a fillet next time" was uncalled for because if we wanted fillet, then my spouse would have ordered fillet. So you lost my business, and of course, I'll spread the word to family, friends, and coworkers!!!!
