Last time I had a Chinese Mandarin & Cantonese food for lunch. My parents give it to me for lunch takeout. It was so delicious & real taste. So satisfying. Although I’ve never been there before. However there is so my Asians,Hispanic & American people visiting to NBC Seafood Restaurant at Monterey Park, Atlantic Blvd around 11:00am gets crowded. There is no doubt we’re going there on Mother’s Day early at 10:30am no wait of which is Su May 12. Waiting for the line is too long after 11:00am on weekends. Can’t wait to go. I’m looking forward to it.

Fresh dimsum! They taste really good and fresh you can tell that they use freshest ingredients. Some dimsum place has salty msg taste but this location doesnt have a such taste. Their cart comes very often so you dont need to wait long for what you want. The staffs also work fast and efficiently. You can get your tea refilled fast, get a check and boxes fast. Expect that you need to wait 15 - 20 min on Saturday and Sunday.

my favorite dim sum place been going here since i was a kid. foods always been good and service too. my family's hosted some parties there too. it's been more expensive lately but o think that's just covid-inflation when a usually $50 meal for two to three people is now $70 3 years later

Very organized waiting system. Reminds me of the DMV system where they give you a number. The next numbers are displayed on a screen next to the entrance fountain. Food is really good! Cart service is frequent and easy to call attention to. Lots of parking at the adjacent free parking lots.

Great stop for dim sum! We miss the cart service they used to have in Seattle. Getting to see all the food makes the experience more authentic. Unfortunately there was no pork only shui mai. Good was great anyway

I love NBC Seafood Restaurant's dim sum. They are nice and have many dishes. You can choose many kinds of dim sums. The price is also not bad. Most of the dim sums are $3.55 to $7.55. We went there by 3 people and paid nearly $70 including tip, and we were soooooo full. It was Chinese new year when I went there, so they served Chinese new year's special sweets such as inspired by a lotus flower. It was so cute and yum. My favorite dishes are shrimp dumpling, egg tart, seafood egg tofu with ham, steamed pork shu mai, BBQ pork bun, and sweet tofu. Try them when you go there! :)

I think this is the best Dim Sum I've ever eaten in my life. 😊😊. The food was amazing. Many different dishes and the carts keep coming with new hot food.

NBC is one of the best Chinese seafood restaurant you can find in the SGV area. I might even say they are the best in the entire southern California. You know because they are one of the few remaining restaurants that have been in business for as long as I can remember it (30+ years). That speaks volume because many other competitors have came and have gone through these decades, changing multiple owners in the process. But NBC has survived, even during the toughest times at the peak of pandemic when they barely had patrons coming in for dinner, and much less couples holding their wedding banquets. This is not to say they are the best in everything. I would say for dim sum, they are great but not the best. However, for banquets, they really are the best in the area. They have also been really good about not raising prices to some ridiculous $ amount like everyone else during this period when inflation is at an all time high since decades ago. If you go for dinner, I highly recommend their french style filet mignon, which I have to say is really the best I've ever had in terms of quality, consistency, and price. Other Chinese restaurants tend to overcook the meat, give you a bad cut or bad quality meat (sometimes I even question some places serving rotten beef), lack of flavor consistency, or just no wok hei which is absolutely essential for any type of Chinese stir fry dishes. Their cold platters also never disappoints, especially the jellyfish if you like them, and the roast pork belly, which is always crispy and not too fat, not too lean.

NBC is the Top 10 dim sum restaurants in all of socal hands down. During covid, they are open and with outdoor dining open again, we can finally enjoy their dishes fresh and steaming hot! Top tip, call in your order in advance and avoid waiting in long lines. UPDATE - Feb 23, the outdoor patio is open!!!

I have not come to this restaurant for a few years 😔 tonight's dinner is great and very reasonable. I will come back 😀 for sure. It should be 4.5 stats, but there's only 4 or 5 I can select 🥺

January 2025: It's been a long time since I came here last. Stopped by for dinner and ordered the pea sprouts, tofu with chicken and salted fish in a clay pot, vermicelli noodles with vegetables in a clay pot, oysters, and squab. All of the food was very tasty. My favorites were the tofu clay pot and the vermicelli noodles and vegetables in the clay pot. Would definitely come back again for more delicious food. 2018: Very good dim sum. Everything is sold!

The best Chinese seafood restaurants around! Had a celebration dinner in a private banquet room, and was beyond impressed. Food was cooked authentically, seafood was fresh, and service amazingly attentive. Looking forward to returning. Thanks Jie and William!

Ever since the empress pavilion in china town closed we have been looking for another really good Dim Sum place. I was referred to this place from a lady at work and unfortunately it took me over a year to give it a try. I can't wait to go back. Great selection on the Dim Sum, and really good food. There are a lot of places out there but only a few really good ones. This is one of them.

One of the more popular dim sum spots for a reason. Clean, bright, and spacious interior and good flavor. Still using the carts, which I love to see for dim sum.

I’ve been here before for weekend dim sum, but I guess I forgot to post my review. AnywAy, the reason for the addition, is that I get why some of the reviews are negative. If I recall, the wait time was long but do recall decent service. Anyway, on this night, a Wednesday two days before Christmas Eve, service was great. We had a party of 12 and wanted a private room, but my sister was told about the minimum spend (not a problem the way my family eats), but also wanted us to pre-order. Ridiculous, so we just asked for the tables. Once I got there and noticed it was slow, I asked if we can have an extra table for gifts (it was our pre family Christmas dinner with my sisters and mom). The manager then came and offered us a private room. I told him that was our original plan and about the issue with pre-order and wished they didn’t have that requirement. Anyway, he apologized and explained how that could be an issue on a busy night and walked us to the private room. From that point, service and food were excellent. All was good and everyone happy. Not sure about all that we ordered, but the family meal which was about $338 was awesome. Manager suggested it and suggested we order two, one for each table, but we decided to order the one family meal and supplement with our favorites. Like clams and pork chops since the meal didn’t have them. I can’t say if a discount is built into the family meal, but for being one of the less expensive options from about 10 ranging from $300 to $800, can see why the manager said it was a favorite. Had a whole lobster, whole duck, whole chicken, steak and a large order of walnut shrimp. About 2-3 other dishes and dessert made up the full meal but the portions made it worth it. Can probably feed up to 10 people alone. We didn’t even finish the lobster and clams!!!! We obviously ordered too much, but that’s my family. Had plenty of left overs and great memories. About $660 including extra orders and a few beers. Some can argue this place is expensive, especially for Chinese food, but I would have paid much more at a steakhouse, Korean (which we are) or sushi restaurant for my family of 12. I certainly could have paid less without the lobster, clams, steak and shrimp but then again, that’s not my point. The quality of food that we ordered is on par with some of the other styles of food at a lower price point per person, service was top notch, parking and wait was awesome (on this occasion) so why not 5 stars? I’m sure I’ll come back when I’m not in the Christmas spirit, wait times are longer, parking sucks and all that and update to 3 stars, but for today’s experience, it was perfect. Love my fam!

As is any dimsum place on a Saturday morning, the place was bustling! The dimsum here is very good and the service is great. We got there a little earlier than the morning rush and got seated right away for a party of 5. Our two pots of tea were there in an instant. The carts came by quick and had all the usual goodies. They do have a lot of variety and everything was very tasty. Parking in the area isn't too bad if you don't mind a short walk. They also have underground parking.

Amazing selection of push cart foods. If you don't see what you want, just point to the menu and they will help guide. Food was so good, tea was great, loved the fried pork balls and the pineapple buns!

Go with a group of friends and have an adventure! Staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. A few tips: 1. Get your menu game plan. This, for us, made the experience not as overwhelming as carts continually come around and ask you if you'd like anything. We figured out what we wanted and then specifically asked for those items as the carts went around. It made for a much more pleasant experience. 2. Get something crazy! For us, we experienced Stripe for the first time (beef stomach, I believe) and was it great, no, would we order it again, no, however it was a fun experience to try all together! 3. Order tea and enjoy it! Read up on dim sum tips and tricks, watch a few YouTube videos and enjoy the experience!

This place is huge! But more importantly, it has high quality dim sum. Our group visited on a weekday during a holiday week, and fortunately, there was no wait. Despite it being a weekday, the place was packed with people enjoying traditional dim sum served from carts. These carts were full with steamers and plates of both sweet and savory delights. Their haw gow was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The skin was thin, clear, and you could see the detail in every fold. They were a marvel to look at and a pleasure to eat. The leftovers tasted just as good later that night. 5 stars!

Be ready to wait in line because this place is really popular - so plan to come earlier. The dim sum is really good and they have variety of options. The staff will come with cart full of dim sum and you can just tell them what you want from the cart. Everything we ordered are delicious! The place is really spacious and they have a lot of big tables too. There were ten of us and we fit comfortably in the big round table.

I was taken here as a surprise so I didn’t know what to expect. As soon as we sat down our table was flooded with options and I was in awe. AMAZING food and service. I wish I got pictures but I couldn’t stop eating long enough to grab my phone. Every bite was perfection. I can’t wait to go back 😊

Normally popular for dim sum but we actually had an excellent dinner here too. Delicious tea served here with a huge range of entrees. We went with the peking duck, mongolian beef, beef chow fun, braised eggplant, string beans, with rice and finished strong with mango pudding. Everything was excellent, and duck was the standout. Will be back!

NBC is for sure one of the best dim sum restaurants in the SGV. Prices are reasonable, service is pretty good (for dim sum), and the food is delicious. Just make sure to come early. If you come on a weekend before like 1030 there's usually no wait, but any time after 11 You're going to be in a looooong line.

There was a bit of "issue" after we were served our food. We had restrictions with mushrooms and pork. We mentioned our restrictions before we placed our order. But I have to admit that we didn't emphasize on pork meat as much as we did so with mushrooms. We found pork meat in two of our items and refused to accept it. We could see the waiter's face changing colors... But he went back and talked to the manager while the rest of the crews were looking at us. But he came back with our complete orders and was very polite and exceptionally nice about the whole issue. We were embarrassed but his positive attitude completely changed our mood and we had a wonderful time at NBC Seafood. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every single item we ordered. It was a great customer service and I would give them a 10 star!!! As far as the food goes, the best part was that there was hardly any touch of soy sauce in their food, so we could actually enjoy what we were eating without the taste।of soy sauce. We loved the Diced French steak, Lamb chops, sole fish and the shrimps. To end it all the best way possible, they offered us deserts at no charge. I am not sure what we did to deserve that but we couldn't thank them enough for the great hospitality, friendly service and the out of the world food. I would definitely go back there again and be extra careful when I place my order so I don't waste their food. I wish them all the best.

I have been here for a wedding. Today, I went for dim sum. Excellent! Loved it! Food was delicious! Qell worth the drive! Next door, they also have the dim sum available to go. If you have time to sit or you are in a rush, you can still enjoy the delicious dim sum selections.

Great foods, dim sum, the ambiance, and gathering spot for family, friends, etc. It is peak traffic to arrive during peak hours, so add extra time to find parking and the long lines ...off hours are good!

We came on a Sunday for lunch and I got distracted by so many carts and food to choose from, and that is a good problem to have hehehe. I love it here. It's a good thing they are nowhere near my house because I think I'd be here every weekend, but it's also bad because I can't get food to satisfy my craving. Service was fast and efficient. They gave us 2 pots of delicious jasmine tea and everyone was very attentive to their customers needs. The carts come around frequently enough that you can get more food if you want. They have a pick up area separate from the dining area and that's awesome if you want to pick up something for lunch or dinner.

Very busy place, very popular for dim sum. Parking can be difficult, especially on holidays when this restaurant gets super busy. The food quality is good, and enough variety to keep even vegetarians happy. Service is pretty prompt, and the place flows very nicely.

The dim sum at NBC Seafood are very good. You can also get the dim sum for takeout too so it's convenient if you don't feel safe eating at the restaurant. I think it's better to eat it there because it is fresh. I was also able to talk to the manager Kenny because I'm interested in having my wedding rehearsal dinner here. They have their own private room in the back for private event. Kenny was able to answer all my questions and the prices for a family menu is very reasonable. The parking situation here is not bad because it's in a big plaza.

We went to our favorite dim sum spot, NBC Seafood, and it did not disappoint. The food is consistently excellent, as always. We really appreciated that they were open on Christmas and opened early at 8 AM, which made dim sum for breakfast even better. Always great food and a reliable favorite.

NBC Seafood Restaurant is a popular Cantonese-style dim sum restaurant located off S. Atlantic Boulevard near the intersection of Garvey Avenue in Monterey Park. The establishment is open on Christmas Day which was when we visited. There is always a wait on weekends and expect a longer wait on holidays (we waited almost an hour). There is also a shortage of parking during peak hours so plan accordingly. I recommend going early to grab a number and because they do sometimes run out of popular dishes. I appreciate that NBC still employs dim sum carts to display and serve their menu items. Service is as good as you can expect from a busy restaurant. The quality of the dim-sum is much higher than any comparables I've tried in Orange County, so it's worth the drive. I invite you to check out the photos I took of popular dim-sum items, and I'm a firm believer that Cantonese restaurants make the best chow meins. Due to its popularity, it's no wonder that NBC Seafood Restaurant appears on many list of top dim sum spots in Los Angeles!

One of the best dim sum restaurants I’ve been too! Lots of great selections, fast service, and delicious food. Bring your appetite to NBC! Vibrant restaurant with great service and delicious dim sum 😋 I loved the pork shu mai, and Shrimp rolls the most. The veggies like the broccoli were so crisp and tasty with the oyster sauce and chilli sauce. Recommend getting hot tea with your meal. It gets packed so parking can be difficult at times especially with a gym being in the same plaza. Would go again any time.

I had a wonderful time dining here. The dim sum was truly delightful, with so many choices that it was easy to find new favorites. The staff rolled out a cart filled with fresh dishes, and I could simply pick whatever looked appealing. Every item I tried was rich in flavor and perfectly prepared. I left feeling happy and satisfied, eager to return for more.

Best dim sum I've had outside of China and Taiwan! There is a wait, and they don't take reservations, but the food is fresh and delicious. You do have to be somewhat proactive to get the dishes you want, but you never wait long for the carts to pass by. Prices were very reasonable. I'd definitely come back!

Good numbering system for waiting for a table. Food was very good; even has the steamed rice cake desert which is pretty hard to find. Very traditional with the propane carts, but the gas smell was less noticeable than other dim sum places. Mustard and chili paste is provided upon request would be my only complaint. Take out is next door, which is great for on the go.

I used to live in Alhambra when I worked for a clinic and I loved to go to this seafood restaurant. This was my go to Dim Sum place in the first few years after I came to this city. The owner is a Chaozhounese (also known as Teochew) family who owns another Chinese restaurant in the city of El Monte named Ocean Bo which is my favorite. The owner is nice and the staff is friendly. The Dim Sums are usually fresh and delicious! All my favorite Cantonese style. My favorites include ha gow, siu mai, pan friend shrimp and spinach dumpling, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves, rice noodle wrap with bbq pork etc. The price has increased in comparison to that before the pandemic but it's still considered great.

When most dimsum places only open up to 3pm, they go to 5pm which is truly exciting .’still one of the best d dimsum to go to, variety of which can confuse you what to order but equally tasty & quality at its best . This place is packed understandably so.’

Busy, authentic dim sum spot with cart service. Came here in a group of five at 11am on a Sunday and waited about 30 min to get a table. There’s a nifty system that shows the number that’s being called (which you first get from the hostess) so you can gauge your spot in line. Parking is hard immediately in front of the restaurant, so I suggest going to the additional parking space in the underground garage. It’s not that far of a walk but you’ll still get a chance to burn off a little bit of what you’ll eat. Once seated, you order off the carts. They all speak English, and they also use the menu to point to what they’re offering. The har gao is a bit more bland than what I’m used to, but the hot sauce they give perks it up. The siu mai is good, and I also like the honey BBQ pork buns and this dessert bread that has coconut on top with a custardy filling. My sister really liked the Peking duck, and the spring rolls were also good. It’s pretty reasonably priced and you can feast on a variety of dim sum. Bathrooms are available in the back. This is good for large groups and they do take credit card. They do offer to-go boxes if you don’t finish your food and there’s no WiFi available. It’s good for families and there’s a honey boba in the same complex should you have a hankering for dessert. Overall it’s a good dim sum spot.

Haven't been here in a long time. We're surprised to only have 5 minutes wait time. We're seated towards the back part of the restaurant. The smelt fish were a bit too salty to eat by itself. I think it's a good add on with either rice or plain porridge. My daughter ordered her usual shrimp rice noodle. We tried salted fried egg tofu and the whole family liked it.

I grew up eating at this dim sum restaurant almost every other weekend. Came back for a visit and the food is just as good as I remembered. Service is quick, and if the carts don’t have something you want, you can always ask.

Great spot for dim sum with push carts. Some of the dim sum were cold/room temp however, so we waited for hotter plates to come out. Service was better than most dim sum spots with helpful servers. If they didnt have what you wanted on their specific carts, they'd find the cart you wanted and direct it to your table.

S

Food was tasty. Service was good, too. We were there after peak dinner hours and there was plenty of parking. Lots of servers, too. Went there for dumplings (recommended by friends) but that menu is only available until about 2pm. Our dinner was at 730pm& there was only regular food menu. Call to verify dim-sum hours.

Top dim sum place in LA. This is the only few places in LA that is still using traditional pushing cart to serve dim sums. They are open for outdoor dining again where you can enjoy hot and steaming dim sums. The dim sums offered here are comprehensive to include every dim sum you can think of. But during the pandemic, some of the dim sums are not in the carts. We came on the second day of the Chinese New Year for lunch dim sum. You can imagine the line would be extra long. So we came early and got a table with very little waiting time. We totally enjoyed the new year dim sum with friends and family. We ordered a lot and had a feast. I particularly enjoyed their BBQ pork bun. Buns were soft and fluffy and the BBQ pork fillings were so tasty. The gluttonous rice wrapped in lotus leaves was too bad either. Unlike other dim dim places, the rice was cooked perfectly so there was no mushiness in this dim sum. The har gao and shui mai were ok, but portion was perfect as we had 5 people for dim sum and those orders came in with five pieces each. Despite been packed, the service was impeccable. They constantly come to fill out our tea pot and clean out the empty plates. We enjoyed our good food and the service.

From coast to coast, the dim sum are very similar. I always wish restaurants would be more creative. I was very pleased with the dim sum here. There are so many different selections in addition to the traditional ones. Everything was delicious. The service was great. The waiter always checking my teapot. Empty dishes were removed promptly. This is one of the best dim sum restaurant I have ever been to. I wished I had a bigger stomach so I can try more things. Thumbs up!

Classic dim sum vibes from the decor to the service to the food. Everything tasted great except the dan tat crust could have had more buttery flavor but it was alright. Some carts take forever to get to you or are missing the stuff you want (couldn’t get our hands on any green vegetables the whole time…) The other mediocre thing was the seaweed rolls. Just like drinking oil honestly. Quite satisfied with my experience.

What was ordered; Pork Shui Mai, Shrimp Hargow, BBQ Pork Bun, Haim Sui Gok, Fried Shrimp Gok, Steamed Fun Guor, Fried Taro Gok, BBQ Rice Roll, Baked Egg Tart, and Jasmine Tea to wash it down. Seating available outside restaurant in designated area, mostly under tent/canopy and a few tables on their sidewalk practicing social distancing. We usually go to our local Chinese restaurant in Lomita for Dim Sum, however wanted to try NBC. They have a lot more items on their menu and tasted a bit better than our usual spot. Tables and dining area were clean, service was pleasant and expedient, prices were reasonable. They just lagged on our check, refill on our tea and take out boxes, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. We will return here to give it another shot.

Went here on a Thursday morning and it was a bit busy, but the service was great the dimsum carts keep on coming. Some Of their dimsum was cold though. But the others like the shrimp dumplings and siomai were warm and pretty tasty.

Nice service. They take reservations for groups 8 or more and its really easy to make one, whether online or in person, or over the phone. I love the décor and ambiance they have here! The food is equally just as good, with the chicken they have paired with garlic sause! The house fried rice was really good that was surprisingly sweet! The XO Sause scallops were just enough to be called spicy and hot so dont eat too many of those at once or in succession! Next time I could have ordered the lettuce wraps they have or duck with buns and veggies, since it was also a popular item to order when I visited!

I took my elderly dad for our first dine-in experience since the pandemic, and it was an excellent experience! Their dim sum dishes were delicious and service was great! When they didn’t have something we wanted in the carts, the manager went and got them for us. We would definitely be back. Baked BBQ pork buns and the baked egg tarts were our favorites!

This place has been around for years and it’s a comfort spot for dim sum. The food is good, although a little pricey. Overall, a good experience.

Great dim sum but pricy. I’m not sure how the prices compare to others in the area but the small starts at $6.35. Food wise everything was delicious. We came on a busy Sunday afternoon and waited 20 mins for two. Typical dim sum cart service. We got har gow, chicken feet, siu mai, har cheung fun, spare ribs, and fried glutinous pork dumplings (not sure the name) and tea, about ~$50 for two people. The har gow, siu mai, and pork dumplings were standouts.

I love dropping in to buy dim sum and beef chow mein take out. There's a take out shop to the right of the actual restaurant. I love the pork belly. Crispy skin. Great flavor. They have a large display of the items and an order sheet. Some items' names on the displays don't match the order sheet. Sometimes they run out of items in the afternoon.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed but they kept the line moving and we were seated within 30 minutes. The restaurant is huge with a side area which is where we were seated (I'll come back to that later). This is the traditional dim sum restaurant where they go around in carts and you order off it. We ordered about six different dishes which came out to about 50$, a little on the expensive. All of the dishes we ordered were really good especially the shu mai and ha gao. We ordered a fried eggplant dish which we never had before and liked it a lot. The one issue we had was that for about 30 minutes, no carts came into the side area where we were seated while the main area had a ton of carts going around. We realized that the restaurant was setting up a private event in this area and probably stopped having carts coming here to get everyone seated in the side area to leave. A couple parties noticed and complained but we decided to leave as we didn't want to wait any longer. I understand that they needed the space but they could've informed us and done a last call. Overall food was great and service was great until the end so I'd recommend anyone going to try and get seated in the main area and/or do takeout as they have a separate storefront for that.

This dim sum place is a great spot in the area. It's located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking available. Despite it being Wednesday noon, the place is packed with many customers. The food and service are excellent. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was super pretty to look at. We ordered several dishes, all of which were very tasty. Only complaint was it was hard to determine the prices of the items being carted around. The crispy pork dish we got ended up being $17, just for that single dish, which was a lot more than I would’ve paid had I known how much it was. Everything else was good and service was decent.

Great place. Now it seem dimsum is a luxury food due to its price. 2 person with 6 dimsum dish can cost over $100. Like three pieces noodle wrap beef or pork cost $8 ea. This is like 900% profit margins. For some dish like this should have cost $4 or $5 which already give 300% profits margins. Anyway that's my thought. Make sure to bring $200 for dinning for two people.

If you want good, authentic Dim Sum, this is the spot. Wait times are a given, so be prepared. Service is extremely quick! Don't get overwhelmed and say yes to everything. It's perfectly OK to go slow and try one dish at a time. The highlights for me were the fresh char siu bao, the rice paper beef, the chicken and pork sticky rice, BBQ ribs and congee. Definitely should be on any foodies list! If you liked my review please give me a thumbs up 👍🏾 to let me know! Follow me for more fun reviews. 🙏🏾

Time flies.. first came here when I was a college student. I arranged a get together with my professors and classmates for an authentic dim sum experience from ucla.. haven’t been here for dim sum for many years and finally back.. and it does not disappoint.. authentic… should we say classic!!!

We have not visited NBC since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We received information from a colleague regarding their weekday all-day specials and recently had the opportunity to experience them firsthand. The menu features dishes priced at $12.88, $14.88, and $16.88; however, it is worth noting that white rice is not included, which deviates from the standard practice. Consequently, the overall pricing aligns with that of comparable establishments. The portion sizes are reasonable. A complimentary sweet dessert soup is provided post-meal, which is a favorable addition. We are considering a return visit to explore additional menu offerings.

Solid dim sum with reasonable prices. They have the carts where you can order from, which is rarer nowadays. They had all the classic dim sum dishes — the shrimp dumplings and rice rolls were good. Service was okay. It wasn’t busy when we went late afternoon and we were seated immediately.

Dim Sum is good, and the service is okay. It’s not as busy as it used to be on Friday early before lunch time if you want to order some food you have to be there after 11 because the kitchen opens at 11 o'clock.

I remember coming here in the 80s as a kid and enjoying this. I haven't been here since then given the dim sum choices thats evolved in SGV and found new favorites. The draw of coming recently was the boasts of hot carts, especially since Covid, all dim sum places have switched out from this model and you have to order in advance. So Sunday parking was madness, but found eventually. I was surprised that by 1030, we didn't have to wait and was walked in to a table of 4 and wow is that place huge! Got sat to the back room and got excited for cart pushing commotion. We found the food taste to be ok, actually bland and that even the accompanying hot sauces were watered down. Our initial waiter had an attitude problem and I was happy staff is well rotated and quick to respond. The ladies pushing carts are very sweet and explain with patience all of their choices in their cart and regularly kept it moving and coming by. My two beefs about hot cart experience was the lack thereof for the daikon cake and Chinese broccoli options...they had it already cooked and sitting in cart. It sounds old timey, but i enjoyed seeing them cook it tableside back in the day. I couldn't order fried rice or chow mein until after 11 and the mango pudding seemed like a box special make. Despite all this, I would consider coming back to show friends who want to try and experience nostalgia of hot dim sum carts.

Classic SGV Dim Sum Institution from the 80s. Been 22yrs since I last came here. Not the best Dim Sum taste. But for sure one of the last remaining cart dim sum experience. Which is what makes it worth it. And for that alone it’s worth the trip. Mostly all good - Porridge / Cha Shu Bao / Chinese Broccoli / Har Gao we’re decent. But would not recommend the mango and sesame pudding. A but artificial. Sesame balls were only OK.

Came here with my work family for lunch and we got one of their many FAMILY LUNCH set menus. They have 8 different ones on their website. They told us we did have to add more $$ bc it wouldn’t be enough food. So we did add a couple of dishes too and it was way too much food for 12 people. The pricing initially was pretty good for 10 items too. They will add service fee already for a large party. But good came pretty quick during weekday lunch hour. $338.00 僅限午餐 Lunch Only 點心: Dim Sum Platter 蝦餃 蟹皇燒賣 三絲春卷 百花蔗蝦 Har Gow ,Sui Mai, Egg Roll and Shrimp Paste on sugar Cane 雞絲魚肚羹 Chicken with Fish Maw Soup 京都片皮鴨 Roasted Whole Peking Duck 碧綠魚柳 Pan Fried Fish Fillet with Vegetable ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FREE Parking is a large shared lot with other businesses in the area but if you don’t mind walking 30 seconds, you’ll find parking everywhere that is not 5 steps from the entrance. Restrooms were pretty bright and clean. Service overall was decent too. We did have to keep asking for hot tea to be refilled and for waters bc they were not as attentive once we started eating. Overall - still a pretty good meal even if you’re not just eating dimsum. The interior is very large with lots of tables of various sizes.

Looking for a restaurant that served dimsum and came across NBC, and after reading the reviews and seeing some customer photos, we decided to try it as well. Very glad we did! The food was amazing! The whole experience with the service carts was a little confusing and overwhelming at first since there was no intro or waiter present but we figured it out in the end. Once we figured it out, everything else flowed perfect. Definitely going back to experience their menu further😊

This place is good, just like any other dim sum restaurant. I wish the soy sauce were a bit less salty and a bit sweeter because it’s too salty for my family. Customer service is pretty good, like any other dim sum restaurant as well. Overall, it’s alright, so I wouldn’t say I recommend it, but I also wouldn’t say I don’t recommend it, lol.

NBC Seafood continues to be a mainstay and shining example for Cantonese Banquet Style Cuisine in the San Gabriel Valley. There are patrons, old and young. NBC is also one of the most popular available spots for banquet events in the community, including weddings and other celebrations. On a given weekend evening, the dining room may be either completely booked for a private event or partitioned off. Be aware that this will affect parking and dining space availability. Their food continues to be consistently good and a service level to match. Morning hours are devoted to Dim Sum with traditional carts and a time to enjoy tea. Evenings, of course, will serve your usual dining affair of Cantonese style dishes from fresh seafoods, to beef, chicken, duck, and other meats. The menu is large and inclusive, and if you know what you are ordering, special request are often available to. The greatest area of concern in most recent dining experiences is their prices. Comparably, NBC is on the high side for its entire menu. Dim Sum pricing can expect to run as much as $50 per person, tittering on sushi pricing for dishes. Dinner entree items may equate to nearly the same expense if no fresh seafood items are chosen. Seasonal seafood items may bump your tab well into $120 per person for a dinner party at the very least.

The dumplings are very delicious. Good prices. Kind of loud. Long wait on New Year’s Day. I wish they would offer all the variety they have in the menu. Majority of dumplings are pork and shrimp.

This is one of the oldest dim sum restaurants around in Monterey Park. They still have the carts being pushed around. But there were some items I used to order not show up on the carts. You can always ask them if there are any of the specific items in the back. They do have the normal fare: Egg tarts, shu mai, meat ball, Ma Lai goh, rice rolls, shrimp har gao, and more. They have some round tables with lazy Susans for larger groups. Prices had gone up as 5 people ate with a bill of about $120. You can choose your type of tea. Some options are jasmine tea, chrysanthemum. If you like to share as most items come in 4’s; ask them to cut it in half for you.

While the food was good, our server was extremely rude to my elderly Chinese mother! He was rude to me as well! My mom was very surprised at his tone, especially to an almost 80 year old senior citizen! She was just asking about the beverages since we had a big group and he was annoyed with her! Suffice to say, we probably will never dine in this establishment. We came from another state and it really put a bad taste in our mouths with the treatment of their patrons.

Food is good but a bit pricey. 3 stars is because the server chase after us to outside and ask for 18% tip for party of 2 adults and 1 little kid. Dont think we will come back again. Tip is earned, not demanded.

Dim Sum is average, and the service is okay. It’s not as busy as it used to be. However, it’s getting pricey. The bill suggests tips of 18%, 20%, and 25% of the total after tax, which is ridiculous. Everyone should carefully review the bill.

Went for early dinner on a Sunday at 5. We were put at a table which had somewhat dirty/stained linen. Took a while for our order to be taken. And we had to hail waiters over for that. Food did not come out all at once. We went for dim sum and dumplings which they said they stopped serving those at 3 pm. Food was basically a pricier version of Panda express. It was good but not great.

Tiaranad Gerjarusak

Decent Chinese food with dim sums that come on the push cart just like good old days in Hong Kong. The food is reasonably priced, generous portion, and tastes quite good. The service is sufficient. There isn’t much of an ambiance but just one large room filled with tables. We had the basic dishes like Ha Gau, Siu Mai, Chicken feet, veggies, and Fried Noodles with Beef.

J
Jacqueline Lee

All the reviews are pretty accurate. I wanted to give a higher rating but the cold food and lack of carts coming over were the main detractors for me. I noticed most tables in the room asking for specific dishes or at least more carts than the same three types rotating around the room. The only time I saw a table get food delivered were an old couple who the workers somehow couldn't say no to. The wait is what you expect for a typical Dim Sum on Sunday morning. I liked the number system but would've preferred if they handed out the menu for people to pre-fill. I know that removes the idea of push carts but it was obvious the restaurant picked the 10-15 plus bigger parties to cater the cart varieties to. Multiple times all the tables in my room kept asking for the carts with tastier food like peking duck and sticky rice to stop by but not once did a cart ever come stop by.

Don’t waste your time or money. My parents drove 45 mins from the valley to come here and we also waited about 45 minutes for a table because it was so busy, only to eat bland, lukewarm, less than mediocre dim sum. I am so disappointed and cannot believe I wasted a meal with my family here. I think they used to be good pre-pandemic but the quality of this place has definitely gone downhill.

We ordered bok choy and they gave us some other green veggie. I cant tell the difference by looking at it, so I tried and tasted. It was not bok choi. We had dinner here on Sunday night for a family reunion and it was a frustrating experience. We waited an hour and a half for our dishes to come out. No updates, no real explanation, and no sense of urgency from the staff. When you’re out for dinner, especially on a weekend, you expect it to be busy. But waiting 90 minutes for food without communication is unacceptable. It completely ruined the evening. Very disappointed. I wouldn’t come back.

F
Ferdelle Lauren

Too many miscommunications and incredibly rude, unkind and demanding managerial service. It was immediately stressful upon arrival and I was the celebrant and I almost cried when they told me it was $450 minimum PER TABLE and not $450 minimum for the private room and I had called 4 times to organize my party and i’m not one to miss that detail. They let it slide but not without getting 3 employees to shout at me in front of two of my guests. The only positive was that the one waitstaff who was diligent and helpful which salvaged some of the experience. The food was ok but arrived cold. We also didn’t get several items that we ordered and we were not told beforehand they weren’t available, leaving my vegetarian guests mostly without. One of my guests reported food poisoning several hours later. When items arrived at the table they came without explanation which was unfortunate for my guests who were experiencing dim sum for the first time. Truly a bad first impression. Would not recommend this place for a large group.

There was a piece of plastic paper inside the taro cake. Fortunately, my mom didn’t swallow it, which could have caused serious harm. The manager came over and just canceled the order like nothing happened.

Third time eating at NBC — authentic Cantonese dim sum. Every time we pay, it somehow feels more expensive than what we actually ate. After today’s meal, I did the math and realized the auntie wasn’t honest — one of them quietly stamped extra plates! It’s hard to follow up or dispute it afterward. Make sure the number of plates aligning with stamps!
