Loved the food here, the breakfast biscuits for a cause were so tasty our only comment was that they were a bit salty for them to be served with the jams. The mountain bowl was delectable and the potatoes were so tasty mixed with the stone ground grits. We also got the sweet potato pancake that was served with powdered sugar and candied pecans, definitely recommend. The blue berry cold foam cold brew coffee was also really good. The ambience was really neat, we loved that there was a private dining space, an open dining space, a large bar area to eat when it’s busy, as well as the outdoor seating space. Overall great experience and can’t wait to come back.

Cool Place to Check Out! I had an amazing experience here! The food was delicious with true Southern flavor, and everything came out fresh and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were super friendly and attentive from start to finish. I really enjoyed the whole vibe of the restaurant. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Myrtle Beach—definitely one of the best spots in the area!

A top shelf experience in beautiful Myrtle Beach. The shrimp and grits was creamy, and seasoned just right. The green garnish had a good flavor as well. For dessert we ordered the banana pudding. This is a great place for a date night or family celebration.

wow HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I am rarely surprised by a restaurant but this one did. Just the smell of the place was a great start. I had the mountain morning bowl and it was fantastic. My wife ate chicken and waffles with peaches and it was also outstanding. Our server was Blake and he was great too. Family friendly. Pretty quiet and a delightful place. We are coming back soon!

So glad we found this place! Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is charming and warm. The food was so good! The bee dust fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and perfect flavor. The smothered chicken was original with crispy batter and juicy white meat. The sides were all fresh and full of flavor. Definitely a must visit!

Loved the food, drinks and service at Tupelo. We were a party of six. The menu is fun and interesting. Fabulous bar! Comfortable, stylish, and clean restaurant. Market Common is a great area with shops and restaurants and fabulous scenery. The only negative is that one of my cousins said that they wished that the cheese sauce for the macaroni and cheese was thicker. That's very minor and everyone has different taste. For the rest of us from the salmon to the fried chicken and waffles to the meatloaf to the onion rings and more; everyone was more than satisfied.

Always a treat to come here, the fried green tomatoes, grits, and sandwiches (this time I got the avocado sandwich) are amazing. Amazing service, they are always really sweet and lovely. And lastly, the atmosphere is beautiful; personally, my favorite part is the ceiling fans.

The staff is very kind and professional. They quickly accommodated a very last minute request. The food was excellent. My top faves are the fried green tomatoes, goat cheese grits, and the Brussels sprouts. We sat and talked for a while and didn't feel pressured to vacate our table. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar in Surfside Beach truly exceeded our expectations! The food was absolutely amazing — full of rich, southern flavor and perfectly seasoned from start to finish. Every dish we tried was a hit and left us wanting more. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a relaxed, family-friendly vibe that made us feel right at home. Our waiter was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and spot-on with her recommendations, which made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be returning the next time we’re at the beach. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy quality southern comfort food with top-tier service!

We just had the most wonderful breakfast Here at Tupelo Honey. The food couldn’t have been any better and the prices are better than they’ve ever been. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The first thing you’ll notice is the decor - very nice to look at & adds to the atmosphere. The drinks were fantastic and the chicken & waffles did not disappoint!! Our server was hospitable, attentive & friendly & helped us choose something we would enjoy. I would definitely visit here again!!

Don’t skip the biscuits when you come to Tupelo Honey! They are amazing and delicious! Chicken dishes and salads are good. On our last visit for lunch we had the Cobb salad and Sweet & Spicy chicken sandwich. The outdoor seating is comfortable and pleasant, and the service has always been friendly and attentive. We always eat here when we are in town.

My daughter and I had a wonderful meal when we stopped in for an early dinner. She had her heart set on waffles and blueberry compote, which was not on the dinner menu, but our waiter Blake made it happen. He was great! Thank you so much for a great experience.

Friendly service and dog friendly restaurant. My food was delicious and there is a dog menu so that you can eat all your food because your pup has their own :-). My pup had the Ruff Day Remedy and he seemed as happy with his choice as I was with mine.

What a wonderful restaurant! Food, staff and atmosphere are marvelous! Quaint, charming and very southern. Gluten free options and not too pricey. Fried green tomatoes - 8/10 Brussel Sprouts - 7/10 - cooked with a little too much oil. The sauce has a little kick. Nice, but everyone should know. BLT - so so so good. 9/10 Cobb Salad - 8/10: green, fresh and ripe in all the right ways. Right down to the avacado. Aperol Spritz - 7/10: The sparkling wine or persecco is very dry. Pineapple mimosa- 8/10: again, very dry sparkling. **Don't forget to tap that ❤️ at the bottom here 😀

We love our regular visits to Tupelo Honey. The Mountain Morning Bowl is the perfect combination of all things yummy. We add the biscuits with blueberry compote and they are so good. On this visit we met Julia, a server who has been there about 10 years. Almost since they opened. How we have never met her I don’t know but I can say she was the best server we have ever had. She was so nice and personable and she proactively asked us questions and made suggestions for our meal. We will certainly be asking for her by name in the future!

Has a reservation for 9:30 AM on a Saturday for 2 guests. Restaurant was pretty empty upon arrival - seated immediately and paid/left within 40 minutes. Service was friendly and fast - food came out quickly. Spicy Bloody Mary (Okay) Fried Green Tomatoes (Delicious) Country Chicken & Waffles (Delicious) Mac & Cheese Ashville Hot Chicken & Waffles (Good) Would recommend for a cute, casual meal. Nice surrounding shopping area & atmosphere.

Our party of six ate here June 2022. Great atmosphere and dishes are presented in very appealing manner. We started with fried green tomatoes and their signature biscuits for appetizers. The smothered chicken was truly amazing. It's not easy to make something as common as fried chicken amazing but Tupelo Honey succeeds. Their sides of collared greens with bacon, baked mac and cheese, and rosemary potato cracklins were delicious. The serving sizes were generous and we were full after our entrees but could not resist the "mini dessert duo" just for a bite of sweetness after our meal. Definitely need to make reservations ahead of time. Overall great southern dishes in a classy atmosphere.

Just the right spice. It’s been open for more than 5 years, but we finally made our first visit. A few of us had chicken and waffles with mac and cheese and were pleasantly surprised by the unique combo. There were a few other items on the menu I’d try as well, so we may add this place to our summer beach vacation must visits. Anne-Marie was our server and she did a wonderful job. Drink were always filled (important when serving some spicy food), and the food came out accurate and on-time.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar is a must-visit if you're in Myrtle Beach. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this gem offers a delightful taste of Southern cuisine that is amazing. I can't wait to return!

The staff was hands down amazing. I wish I could remember our servers name but she was awesomely sassy. This was the first time I’ve tried fried green tomatoes and honestly I can’t wait to have them again. They were so delicious. I tried their lemonade and lavender, it was surprisingly good. My friend had the blood Mary and she enjoyed it. We also had these amazing potatoes things which the name completely escapes my brain. The Brussels sprouts were delicious as well as the huge salad we had.

An unexpected totally-enjoyable dining experience. Going for brunch, we enjoyed the biscuits and the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Loved the chicken and waffles, the salmon and eggs, and the Smashed Hamburger. The ginger turmeric tonic was refreshing, then the magic lemonade was fantasmic. Parking can be hectic, but The Commons can make any walk less cumbersome. Wait staff knows the menu well; Jeanne was attentive and gave us great service! We're going to work a return visit into this trip.

Was able to make reservations for Easter Sunday, very grateful for that. Seated promptly on arrival. Waiter was attentive and checked in throughout meal. Home brewed ginger beer was good according to husband. I had peach and pineapples sangria. Very yummy. Started with pimento dip and chips. Delicious. I had smoked salmon, grit cake and eggs. Very good. Salmon only lightly cooked. I'm okay with that, if you're not a sushi person, probably too raw for you. My husband got the fried chicken and bisquits. Very yummy. Left full and happy.

Great time had, by all. We made reservations, and what was seated within a reasonable time. Our server was nice and knew her stuff. She gave us options and choices and was very patient. The food was really good and will definitely return.

Super yummy dinner. First time at a Tupelo Honey and definitely pleasantly surprised with how good the food was! 👍🏼👍🏼 The service was fantastic as well and we loved the decor and the general atmosphere of the place. We would definitely return. We had: Southern Hospitality Mimosa (Peach Pineapple) Brussels Fried pickles Spicy Chicken Sandwich with mashed potatoes Chicken BLT with potato crisp skins

This is a great southern restaurant. The service is spectacular. Special thanks to our waitress Anastasia. :) The food is fresh and very enjoyable. Highly recommend the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich. The shrimp is so fresh that it tastes like a grilled chicken breast. I've never had better shrimp in my life. It didn't have that sea salt and fishy smell like other restaurants. The seasoning was also perfectly balanced and all the parts of the sandwich blended together in a delicious harmony of flavour! I had a wonderful evening and will be returning; hungry for more!

This place is a must go to if you want some very tasty and creative breakfast or lunch. If I am even close to this location I will go out of my way to eat here they never disappoint. I had the mega mimosa which was good with Honey Sriracha chicken and waffles a side of bacon and eggs. This meal is spicy FYI but I love the heat, sweet and crunch it bring to the plate. Also The blueberry waffles with a side of goat cheese grits will not disappoint as well. Service was quick. I would Recommend on the weekend to make reservations as it typically gets quite busy.

I was taken here for Mother’s Day. At first I was told that they were booked until 4 that afternoon. We left and I immediately pulled up the reservations online and got lucky they had a slot available in the next 15 minutes. When we went back inside I thought it was weird to see a few empty tables so I don’t know why it said they were full , even as we ate our meal there was just quite a few tables that no one was sitting at. Fast forward to the staff and food. Our waiter was really nice it was an older gentleman. He went and got us some kids menus for our boys and he was just really attentive the whole time. The food came out in a decent time and it was really good. The whole family enjoyed their meals like it was just a really nice experience. There were quite a few things that we wanted to try but we’ll have to come back. I don’t think this place could disappoint . My husband doesn’t like a lot of places but he liked this place.

Came here with my friends, while in Myrtle Beach, on a Girls Trip. Looking to have my first ever “Shrimp & Grits” experience, I found Tupelo Honey when I searched for Shrimp & Grits in Myrtle Beach. I was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant, tucked away in a beautiful community, complete with shops, other dining options and beautiful town homes. The experience deserves 5 stars! The food was delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was happy and chic. I ordered the Brussels sprouts to start with the Shrimp & Grits as my entree. The Brussels sprouts were good! They were crispy yet not overcooked. The Shrimp & Grits were outstanding!! The secret ingredient was the goat cheese mixed in with the grits. I cleaned my bowl! The drinks were delicious and unique. The honey used in my “Bees Knees” cocktail was fresh and gave the drink a special quality. I’m already looking forward to visiting Tupelo Honey on my next trip. There were many items on the menu that intrigued me.

This place is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely the best I've ever tasted! I got the chicken and waffles with the peach compote, spiced pecans and whipped cream. Everything is made from scratch and it shows in the taste. Our server Nickels was super friendly and very welcoming. Amazing experience all around!

I am a very picky eater meaning the flavor, texture, and temperature of food all have to be working in harmony if not I'm not eating it!! This spots lunch options are delicious and their collard greens melt in your mouth!! I will be going back very soon!

We reserved the private room for a bridal shower and everything was wonderful. This was a destination wedding so we had never been here before, but they did not disappoint! Cassie, the event coordinator, was so patient, gracious and accommodating. The room was set up and we were allowed to add our own special touches. The wait staff and hostesses were AWESOME and the food was simply Delicious. Hats off to the kitchen! Sorry I don't have any pictures of all the food, but we had meatballs, shrimp skewers and deviled eggs for appetizers. The main course was honey-dusted chicken, chicken and waffles, "smack-a-roni" and cheese, "kick-butt" collard greens and a garden salad. We will definitely return to Tupelo Honey when visiting Myrtle Beach in the future!

Awesome as always! We had tried the Tupelo Honey in Raleigh and Virginia Beach, so we just had to come check out the one in Myrtle Beach. I ordered the same spicy chicken with the crispy brussel sprouts again. The service was perfect food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. We will be back for sure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Dining Experience! Nov 2024 while visiting the area, we had an outstanding experience thanks to Julia who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. She was exceptionally attentive, polite, and courteous throughout the morning. She anticipated our needs without being intrusive and offered thoughtful food recommendations perfectly suited to our appetite. We were so impressed by her genuine hospitality that we returned just a week ago with the entire family—including my in-laws—and the service with Anastassia was just as impeccable. It’s rare to find such consistency and care. Julia and Anastasia truly elevate the dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

My wife Tara is still raving about the Tomato Soup. We requested a booth and got it. We were served by the wonderful Nichols, who checked on us often without being overbearing. My Cobb Salad was phenomenal. Nichols made Tara an Appletini without the alcohol, I had a Tupelo Honey Craft Beer. Outstanding! The food, drinks and ambience was beyond great. If the only thing that goes wrong is your pen doesn't work when you are cashing out, you know you have found the best of the best Restaurants at Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. Thank you all for making our dining experience so excellent. Ivan and Tara

The food was excellent! I had southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The chicken was crispy and moist and the mashed were some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The honey dust on the chicken was amazing! My husband had a chicken salad sandwich that was huge. He said it was delicious. The.fries had the same honey dust as the chicken and were so good (I had to try some)! The wait staff was very nice and engaging, but it seemed to take a long time for our food to come. Overall it was very good, prices were reasonable and I'd definitely visit again. Parking can be further away on a nice day at Market Commons. We parked about 2 blocks away.

Amazing service from the front of the house to our server! So pleasant and efficient. Just a really cool place to grab a meal. Every dish was well prepared and tasty. The grits are damn near perfection. Make sure to grab reservations !

This place is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS 🤤 The best brunch I have EVER had. All the food my husband and I had was ssssooooooo good! Can’t go wrong with their fried green tomatoes over their goat cheese grits…to die for! I had the Morning mountain bowl—best skillet type of dish ever! Can’t go wrong and husband had the sweet potato pancakes with candied pecans and real maple syrup…mm.mm.mm😋😋

Our party made reservations but there was no wait because we ate early. We ordered salmon, meatloaf, sweet & spicy chicken and waffles and chicken tenders. My salmon was cooked to perfection and I loved the grits, but the rosemary parmesan potatoes were a little too seasoned, I ate them but they were not my favorite. We also ordered the biscuits for a cause and while they were so-so, their peach and blueberry jams were amazing. Overall, the prices are very reasonable and I would love to try their breakfast.

Let me say that the staff could not have been more wonderful and accommodating! I would dine here again because of that. Food was just ok. The group loved the fried green tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, and fried okra. Fried pickles were a bit too salty and meatloaf was just ok. Grilled cheese was not very good at all unfortunately. Banana pudding and chocolate cake were average. We loved the doggie menu though! Atmosphere is lovely. Its worth a try! Some dishes just better than others.

M

First timer here, small menu. Brussel sprouts appetizer was overly salty! Omg I think my blood pressure went up after first bite. The spicy/sweet chicken sandwich was wonderful! So yummy. Onion rings were better than the fries. Fries were soggy vs crispy. Service was great though.

We ate dinner here while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. We got the smothered chicken (milk gravy) with Mac & cheese and crispy potatoes. It is a large portion of chicken. They could have put a little more gravy on the chicken but that’s probably just my preference. We didn’t get a picture of the crispy potatoes because they were really good! Sorry not sorry. The only negative was the service. When we ordered our sweet tea, we asked if it was super sweet tea and the waitress thought we were trying to hit her with a trick question. FYI it wasn’t super sweet lol. She was also very slow getting back to us, that may be because she was worried we had more questions lol.

This place has a beautiful inside, and as for as the food. I’ll give it all a total of 8, I would somewhat recommend this place. I’ve had better shrimp and grits and better fried chicken, but nothing really struck out to me yk? Still was good and I would mm maybe come back, and as far as the staff. Our waitress was quick and fast. We didn’t even finish our appetizers before we got our food.

My husband and I went here on a date night while visiting Myrtle Beach. Our server was fine. She wasn't the most warm and friendly, but she did her job sufficiently. The biscuits were yummy. The famous fried green tomatoes and goat cheese grits were just okay. There wasn't much flavor. The grilled salmon with creamy quinoa was really good! My husband enjoyed his shrimp po' boy.

Alright, let's start with the good. Atmosphere and service was excellent. Our hostess and server were super nice. Had a great experience service-wise. Now, the bad. Let me preface this with me being a fried chicken connoisseur. It is my favorite food and I've had it in 49 states. I was excited to try this place. First red flag for me is, I ordered the bone-in dark but I couldn't add extra pieces of chicken. It comes with a 3 piece, but I wanted a few extra. My wife ordered the Asheville hot fried chicken with the mac and cheese waffles. Kids had chicken tenders kids meal. As my wife takes her first bite, she asked me to try it because she couldn't taste any flavor. I tried and I couldn't either. I tried my bone in dark chicken and same thing. Chicken was way under seasoned and very bland. Skin was chewy, not crunchy. The kids did not like their chicken tenders and ended up eating the fries. I was a bit disappointed being a fried chicken fan.

Ok, so im not bashing, but I did wait sometime to go here, and I just feel like it's very overrated. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The food, however, is small in portion and not really seasoned, in my opinion. The chicken and waffles I was so ready for... but was so disappointed it was so Danity 🤣🤣🤣I just expected a little more for the price. But like I always say, I'm only one person. But it is a cute little spot I think I was more disappointed bc I wasn't giving the full experience. My food didn't look like what I see in commercials and tik tok. And that's what I came for. If you look at my pictures and then others, it's like they just set it on the plate

J
Just Wanna Travel

Maybe this is a tourist thing. The fried green tomatoes were crunchy and greasy. No flavor. The fried pickles and fried okra were also greasy. The chicken poblano soup was more like a clumpy chowder. And my salad came with some sort of weird spicy dressing that was supposed to be a honey dressing, but all I tasted was horseradish. The fried chicken sandwich was also greasy and over fried and didn’t have a lot of flavor. It’s seriously overrated and we will not return.

This was the weirdest (not “good weird”) dining experience I’ve ever had. While scrolling through some Myrtle Beach tourism posts, I saw a recommendation for Tupelo Honey’s Happy Hour. We had a rest day built into our MB trip and thought happy hour sounded like a fun early dinner option. We arrived a few minutes after 4pm (HH starts at 4pm), were seated promptly in a pretty empty restaurant. We were given the regular menus and a drink menu — no happy hour menu. When our waiter arrived at the table I asked about the advertised happy hour menu. He gave me the weirdest look and said “happy hour?” (definitely as a question, not a statement). Just as he said this, a different server walked past him and slipped him a menu. Our waiter reluctantly gave us the menu. When our waiter returned to take our order he acted even more disinterested than before. We ordered a kid’s HH sweet potato pancake…for our KID, to which he rudely replied “from the kid’s menu?”. Then my husband ordered the HH chicken and waffles (only original are part of the HH menu) and the waiter kept asking him “which type”…I’m assuming he (waiter) was trying to get us to order from the regular menu? We also ordered the pork main dish, the fried green tomatoes and some sides. The second we ordered, the waiter snatched the HH menu and left. As we waited for our food we watched as other customers started coming in — nobody else was told about the HH menu (or provided one) either. It was such a strange vibe and it honestly felt like the waiter was both annoyed and even mad that we asked about/ordered from the HH menu. It was uncomfortable and awkward. I’d never go back based on that alone. Worst part? Our food was mediocre at best. NOTHING had flavor! The fried green tomatoes were fried very well (not greasy) but they tasted like nothing? No seasoning in the panko breading, no salt. The grits and coulis that came with them were a weird texture and also flavorless. My kiddo liked the sweet potato pancake and my husband said the chicken and waffles were standard. My pork was super dry (all of the sauce was caramelized/evaporated to nothing) on one side and pure fat on the other side. I didn’t even eat it. The mac and cheese was ok, flavorless and nothing special. My kiddo ordered a side of potatoes but the waiter brought her mac and cheese and because the atmosphere was already so strange we didn’t ask for it to be corrected. Finally, we received the bill and the kid’s HH item and all of the sides were charged at the regular menu price — NOT the HH price. We spent over $70 for two adults and a kid on happy hour with NO ALCOHOL or desserts! At this point we were so irritated by the entire experience we paid and left. It felt so shady and dishonest and made us very uncomfortable…to the point where we snapped a photo of our credit card bill in case of any fraudulent charges/ behavior by the waiter. I’d definitely skip Tupelo Honey in MB…there are so many better options!
