Texas Chuckwagon was fun. Food was very good as was service. We attended a meet and greet for Gov Abbott and Chris Spencer.
Had daily special. Catfish with pinto beans and potato salad. As good as I've ever had. Husband had grilled chicken sandwich and gave high praise as well.
The best chicken fried steak and “real” mashed potatoes!! The rolls are so delicious, I could have eaten an entire basket of them!! Can’t wait to go again!!
First time today at Texas Chuck Wagon and it was a pleasant experience. We traveled from Little Rock to meet family traveling from Dallas for lunch and a visit. After looking for a good place to meet where we could have a meal everyone in our party would enjoy, I found Texas Chuck Wagon. I called them the day before our visit to ask if they accepted reservations. I spoke with Kenzie who was very nice and helpful. She said they don’t take reservations but when I explained our situation, she said that we could sit in their banquet room as it wouldn’t be needed at that time. Today, our party of seven was seated in the banquet room as promised. Our server, Allie, was great! She made sure we were taken care of and checked on us frequently. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating—we will definitely return! The food was great also. The Texas Size Chicken Fried Steak is NO JOKE!! It’s huge! I took half of it home! In addition to all of this—prices are so reasonable! Thank you for helping our family make memories!
First time dining in, and it was worth it! The fried green tomatoes were so delicious! The chicken fried steak was huge so I had leftovers and our waitress was super sweet!
Oh my goodness we found this place randomly one day looking for a good breakfast place and it did not disappoint. The prices were very reasonable.
Absolutely everything there was a wonderful And I did not walk away stuffed like it was packed full of gluten! Loved the atmosphere! Will go back when I'm there to visit again from Oklahoma!
We were a party of 8 Jill, is a great server, and great since of humor. The food was delicious. The portions were large. The prices are reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.
Good food , was what is noisy, but we had a great time, was very busy. But well worth it , but we went on a Sunday. Definitely go if you want great food and service.

We had an absolutely pleasant date night!! April the waitress was absolutely wonderful and kind. The owner actually came out from behind the stove to check on every single table to make sure that everything was made to satisfaction! Very down to earth hometown feel as soon as you walk in the door! And did I mention that the food is amazing!! Grilled shrimp on a bed of rice with mashed potatoes and a side salad was my meal. Chicken fried steak (regular size) with mashed potatoes and gravy and pinto beans for my husband's meal. ****THESE PINTO BEANS ARE THE BEST I'VE EVER TASTED!!!!!**** And we cannot forget the wonderful fried pickles for our starter!! (The picture of the fried pickles was actually taken after we had already eaten half of the basket. What can I say? We were hungry and there were very, very, very good!!!!) This is a definite must go to restaurant!!!!!!!
Adorable little mom and pop restaurant with waitresses straight out of central casting. With thick southern accents they brightly pepper their conversations with “sweetie” and “my dear” so naturally that you’d think you were in a Fannie Flag novel. But more importantly, the breakfast is delicious. Fluffy eggs, thick crispy bacon, Texas shaped waffles and hearty white gravy all are standouts. When the iced tea comes served in a giant mason jar, you know you are in a down home restaurant. Plus the place is dirt cheap! Breakfast for 6 with tip came to just over $60 and we all left stuffed. Will definitely be stopping again next time we are in town.
This was our second Sunday lunch here. My wife loves ❤️ this one for our Sundays in Texarkana. The table service is wonderful. The food is good. No problems moving around with her walker.
We stopped by this place as we were passing through the city. To be honest, I didn't enjoy the food much, except for the sweet tea, which was quite good. The fried pickles weren't to my taste, and my breakfast was just okay. Since I'm from the north, it's unlikely I'll pass through this city again, but overall, I'd say the food was decent.
This was our first time ever coming here. My husband got the chicken fried steak he said it was good not all grisle. My father in law got the breakfast sandwhich and said his was good and the chicken strips for the kids meal was good. The pancakes was cold and tatstes burnt and the eggs was scorched the mash potatos hard hard potato pieces in it and was cold but tasted okay, just watch if you are feeding to a baby. Server was not so friendly kinda felt like we inconvenienced her she was worried about getting us out the door more it felt like.
I have eaten there about 3 times in the past couple of months. The food is average. The service is great. The atmosphere is cozy. The parking is abundant. It's a nice family. Get together location for your standard comfort food. I was surprised that ordering just a house. Salad that has no meat in it. A side of onion rings and a drink came to over $22 and that's without adding the tip. The onion rings I requested to be extra, extra, extra well done, and once again arrived at the average quality you would receive most anywhere. If I was invited to meet friends to have a meal at this restaurant.I would gladly go but not for the food just for the camaraderie.
This is our 3rd experience here, the last two times we came here were awful, both times we had the same waitress. She was inattentive to our table, people who arrived after we did got their food before us, my appetizer came out WITH the meal which was awful in itself. The breakfast items my family ordered were cold, and soggy from sitting around before getting to the table. My hamburger was incorrect, and by the time it was brought back to me my family had already eaten and children were starting to grow restless. My hamburger was burnt and dry from being overcooked. All around bad experience, the last time we came we experienced the same inattentive waitress who seemed to want to rush us out the door. At this point, we've decided to not return.
