Lovely place to dine. Became a quick regular because the service is amazing and the food is amazing. Oreo is such a lively server and works hard to accommodate. Overall amazing experience. Have been here three times this month. Highly recommend.
Our waiter Oreo was great! Loved the cashew stir fry. Good happy hour deals too.
Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Quaint, and away from the crowds. Delicious food, quality cocktails, and exceptional service. Oreo is amazing, my girlfriend and I will absolutely be back
Food was amazing. The Atmosphere was a beautiful ambiance…and the service was second to none. Especially Oreo! He was Superb.
10/10. Unbelievably good! So happy we lucked upon this place. We had the lunch menu so it was a great deal. I had the panang curry with pork and the lychee mojito. Both were 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
Had a great meal here tonight! Loved the happy hour meal and our server Oreo was the greatest!!
Solid Thai restaurant pretty good food. We actually went for the lunch special which was a pretty good deal as well and I like that it goes after 3 PM. They also have happy hour which I would totally come back and try we didn’t drink while we were there, but we ate.the appetizers were also really good. I actually only had appetizer so my nose.
I love this restaurant! We always make it a point to visit and get some of our favorite dishes. Alvin is the best. He always takes care of us and makes sure we are getting the best service and food. Make sure you stop by and say hi!
Amazing food, cocktails, and the most attentive service. I got the soft shell crab khao soi, chive spring rolls, and custard dessert. We also got chicken wings and my partner had pineapple duck. Literally all we could talk about during dinner was how good the food was. Definitely check this place out!!!!
Res curry with mock duck was phenomenal. I love their fried rice with Impossible meat too. Great, fast service.
This is the best Thai food my wife and I have had in our four years living in the city. We stopped by randomly because we were in the neighborhood after visiting an art gallery and we were blown away.
Amazing location. Oreo hooked us up with the red curry and pineapple fried rice recommendations. Highly recommend
We came in here for the lunch special. We got an appetizer and main plate for $15-$17 each. The inside is very cute and well decorated with a lot of color and charm. Service was very friendly and quick! We enjoyed the Pad Rama Tofu (great if you like peanut butter sauce) and the Panama Curry which is a great choice if you like a very mild curry.
I went to dinner to celebrate my birthday with friends. Oreo was so kind, and provided great service!! I got the crab pad Thai, it was amazing. They gave me a free Thai iced tea for my birthday too ☺️
Good portion size, and tasty food. Luckily it doesn’t get too packed here so it isn’t super noisy. What’s also great is happy hour is till 8pm! And drinks are about $7 for cocktails (the margarita is good). The food did take a bit of time, but it wasn’t annoyingly slow. I would recommend the pad Thai and pad see ew. The garlic fries however are very average so, maybe pass on those... There is also no ketchup! 🍅❌
Great Thai restaurant. Food was very tasty, service was fast. Oreo (our waiter) took great care of us.
Amazing a food quality and value. Check out the lunch deals! My server, Oreo was attentive and helped me get the high spice level that I love.
As delicious as it is authentic! We tried the Moo Ping (grilled pork skewers) which is served with a lime/tamarind/chili paste/garlic dipping sauce…yum!!! Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Chelsea.
I love it. In my 7 days visit here this is the best food ive ate yet. Really Recommend the steak the portions and serving is perfect!!
Oreo is the best waiter ever! Super friendly, contagious smile and very diligent. I recommend this place without hesitation.
Oreo was a terrific waiter! He accommodated our every need and the food and drinks were fantastic !! Highly recommend
Absolutely delicious food. Its like an orgasm in your mouth. Authentic flavorful Thai food. The best I have ever had. On top of the delicious food, the customer service and hospitality and kindness from the staff was A+, amazingly kind staff and super comfortable seating and location. Highly recommend this place! Worth every dollar.
UPDATE Dec 2025 Still an incredible Thai restaurant worth your visit; you will visit with an incredible menu that will never disappoint. The food is always delicious, fresh, and the service is friendly and accommodating. PREVIOUS REVIEW Sep 2020 One of a few Thai restaurants still in the area, wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and a nice selection of drinks. Plenty of seating with an accommodating team of employees.
This place has a really lovely atmosphere — it would be a great date spot. Not too loud and the tables have real flowers on them. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty with generous portions.
Really delicious! I love spicy food and am usually disappointed in the options here in NYC. But if you want spicy, they will give it to you here! Of course you can request no spice if you prefer as well The menu is also fun- with the usual dishes but their specials / chefs specials all look amazing. I need to try them all!
Wonderful restaurant. The staff is well trained and super friendly. I love the atmosphere and the food was so good!! Oreo was super good as our waiter.
I recently was lucky enough to get to eat at this restaurant. The atmosphere was great and Alvin was an incredible server. He went above and beyond with me and the people in my party. His customer service skills were on another level. I definitely highly recommend dining at this restaurant.
Excellent, fresh and tasty Thai food! Ordered the basil stir fry and ginger stir fry. Both were cooked beautifully with excellent flavor. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Drinks looked good at the nearby table and happy hour runs in March until 8pm. Prices here are also reasonable for the portion sizes.
Oh my god. I’ve been thinking of what to say as I was eating because it was genuinely one of the VERY BEST meal I’ve had in a long time. I’m very picky about Thai food because I lived in Thailand for a summer and until now it’s been a long journey of finding something that brings me back. Oh my god I didn’t want the roti to end. I’ve never been so big on curry but I had to take home every bite of it. I had the best ‘problem’ you could ever have- everything was perfectly hot right off the pan. I meant to take pictures but it looked so kept forgetting and digging in. I’m embarrassed to have lived only a couple blocks away this whole time and only walked in now. Had a wonderful conversation with a server there, Oreo, yesterday and talked through the menu. I didn’t even need a menu when I walked in today. Great lunch special price and portions. No questions, immediately going to be a regular weekly visit.
This is the best Thai food that I have had! And months after coming here, I found out that the Thai embassy ordered from here! The food is flavorful without being too salty. They can also adjust the level of spiciness and heat, just let the friendly staff know. The drinks here are so beautiful. Everytime I see the serving staff walk by with a drink, I start to regret the one I ordered and want to order the drink that passed by me - very tropical and colorful drinks! They also have a great selection of alcoholic, non-alcoholic, and beers! I'm not big on appetizers, but when I do order I prefer the chicken satay that comes with 2 dipping sauces - a delicious peanut sauce and a vinegar sauce. I enjoy their papaya salad which is sliced very thin for easy eating with a tangy dressing which always wakes up my appetite! I've also had their dumplings with a dipping sauce mixture of soy sauce and vinegar which I save and later pour over my entree or rice! I typically order the pad Thai with soft tofu - great balance of noodles, veggies, and tofu and the fresh lime ties the entire dish together. The Salmon Pad Cha which is a generous amount of salmon that is lightly crusted outside but succulent and flaky on the inside with a spicy and very flavorful sauce with lots of veggies, and the yellow curry with chicken which is a mild creamy golden curry sauce and goes incredibly well with their brown rice. The other dish I enjoy very much is the duck with lychee and veggies. The duck is meaty and most of the fat has been cooked off which yields a crunchy skin. The duck is accompanied with a sauce and the lychee gives it fantastic tropical dimension to the whole dish! I've also tried their rib-eye steak which was done just right with a tangy sauce accompanied by fried rice which was not oily. It was all very tasty! I've had their massaman curry with chicken which is a nice comfort food for me - creamy, mildly-flavorful, fantastic over rice. During the winter / cooler weather my go to is the creamy tom yum soup - comforting, filling, satisfying, and can be a meal on its own. For dessert, I ordered time and again, the pumpkin custard with strands of soft pumpkin over a creamy bed of black rice all lightly sweetened - excellent for sharing!
Lively yet cozy Thai place on 8th Ave in Chelsea near the Village. We loved our pad kee mao dishes, heat level was truly as you order it and not generic. Delicious $10 happy hour cocktails and kind and friendly service as well. Next time we are in the area we will be back!
Stumbled across this spot while in the area and ordered the curry puffs, house soup and green curry. All the dishes were amazing and had a lot of veggies. Phenomenal service provided by Oreo. He was super attentive and helpful. Highly recommend checking out this place!
Great neighborhood Thai restaurant. Food is always good for dine in and takeout. Service is kind. I usually like to try something new, but my partner always goes for the volcano chicken dish. We've never been disappointed!
It was our last night in NYC and this was some of the best food we had our entire trip. Although a bummer there was no alcohol being served this night, the food completely made up for that. The Guay Teow Geang was phenomenal. Rich, creamy and layers of complex flavor with just the right amount of heat. Shrimp Pad Thai was also great- it hit all the marks for a delicious and well rounded dish. Honestly it was hard to stop eating, even though we were full. A fully satisfying last night in NYC. We will think about this meal a lot when we travel home!
Delicious food, fantastic staff, they are Polite, Attentive and very friendly…ALWAYS! It gets busy on Fri & Sat night, have sat at the bar and that’s great too! Wide age range makes it comfortable, casual vibe as well. Highly recommend.
Everything was on point we had the pineapple duck in curry coconut sauce, and the ribeye steak with fry rice the steak was tender and flavorful and the sauce it came with took it over the top , that curry coconut sauce was so delicious but the duck was the star ⭐️ of the show .its my birthday today and they did not disappoint well done Wan Waan so along with the excellent customer service 10/10
Beautiful dinner, filled me up for cheap. I have high standards but this restaurant blew my top off. I would recommend the wings if you would like a light snack!!!
This is one of my all time favorite spots. The food is incredible and the drinks are great and strong. No detail is skipped. I have had friends from out of town come and meet me here to start their time off in the city because it truly is just that incredible and trustworthy for a good time.
A superb Thai food restaurant, and a perfect spot on Eighth Avenue in Chelsea for lunch! My wife had a delicious Pad Thai w/Veggie Duck and a salad, and I went for a very spicy Pad Kee Mao, and Chicken and Shrimp Dumplings, really delicious. The waiters are attentive and nice, and the atmosphere is quiet and low-key. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and service! Pad Thai and Thai iced tea was one of the best I’ve eaten/drink. Highly recommended! The Valentine’s Day decorations were beautiful.
The food was amazing! I had the curry crab, it was full of different textures and flavors, and it honestly was the best curry crab I’ve had. I also had the Phuket mocktail and it was delicious! My friends enjoyed their dishes as well. My server Oreo was amazing, really quirky, and super attentive. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant!
the greatest thai food in chelsea for sure but maybe in manhattan also. portion sizes are fantastic for them being in the heart of manhattan. service is always friendly, prices are reasonable, and taste of the food is always great. i love their curries, but everything we’ve ever ordered has been fire 🔥👌🏽
Ribeye panang. The coconut milk curry was so rich, with ribeye steak it was even more luscious. The steak was perfectly seared, with a nice char on the outside, and remained tender and juicy on the inside. The fat cap was so delicious melting in your mouth like butter. Pla rui saun. Don’t let bones stop you from savoring a delicious whole fish! Crispy fried fish topped with fresh salad, served with zesty, sweet and spicy sauce, complemented by fresh herbs and crunchy cashews. This is an orchestra of flavors and textures. Sai oua. Tried it for the first time, an iconic dish from northern Thailand. It has distinctive flavors from aromatic herb blends. Pad thai. You can’t go wrong with this classic dish! A blend of sweet, savory, umami flavors. The noodle was chewy, al dente. Crispy tofu salad. Love the peanut dressing, so nutty, savory, tangy and sweet! For drinks we ordered Thai iced tea with whipped cream and mojito. Both were great!
The brunch at Wan Waan was an impressive experience. The menu selections offer great value. The atmosphere is delightful, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. From the appetizer menu, we tried the Crab Randoon, which were delightfully creamy, paired with a sauce that was genuinely tasty, along with the most exquisite Chicken Satays. The Honey Duck Basil and Pineapple Duck Curry special served as the main course was exquisitely prepared, flaky, and perfectly seasoned. They even tailored the spice level specifically for us, and it was a delightful experience. For dessert, the warm chocolate cake was indulgent, smooth, and the perfect sweet ending. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends!
Wan Waan is a real gem if you’re looking for a quiet, cozy spot in Chelsea. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, perfect for an unhurried meal or conversation, which can be hard to find in NYC. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, and they’re happy to adjust the spice level to your liking. Service was excellent: attentive without hovering, and impressively fast. A special shout-out to our server, Oreo, he was knowledgeable, kind, genuinely funny, and excellent at his job. He made the experience feel warm and welcoming from start to finish.
My friends and I came here to celebrate our homegirl’s birthday. It happened to be restaurant week, so we had an amazing feast! The duck pomelo salad, grilled mackerel thepho, and the Thai tea coconut flan were delicious. We had a server named Oreo who made our experience especially unforgettable. I highly recommend.
Great cozy Thai spot in chelsea! We started with Thai iced coffee and lemon Thai iced tea, plus the crispy coconut shrimps and chicken satay. The standout for me was the grilled steak khao soi. The steak was cooked perfectly and paired perfectly with the coconut curry. The crabmeat fried rice was comforting, and you really can’t go wrong with coconut shrimps. Finished with mango sticky rice because it’s always a must. Overall, great food, cozy ambiance, and the staff were super nice and welcoming
The food, service and atmosphere were absolutely great at Wan Waan! Oreo, our server, was very nice and hospitable; he gave us chopsticks and a knife to cut out meat when we least expected. Their Halloween decor was fun and the secret menu cocktail drinks were really fun to try out! Thank you so much for hosting us!
Had lunch at Thai Wan Waan and it was such a great experience. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, always with a smile, and the service was spot on. The place has a calm, cozy vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy. The Grilled Steak Fried Rice was packed with flavor, the Coconut Shrimp perfectly crispy, and the Massaman Curry rich and comforting. The Crab Rangoon was delicious, and the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect ending. Cocktails were also really well made and refreshing. We’ll definitely be back!🌺
This restaurant offers a very comfortable dining atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly, and I could easily ask them about the dishes—they gave me great recommendations. The food I ordered was absolutely delicious, bringing me the taste of Thailand right here in New York. The portions were quite generous, so I couldn’t finish everything, but I really enjoyed the experience. 😊
Wonderful experience today for dinner. We were greeted immediately with a smile and quickly sat at our table. The waitress was so friendly and nice, took our order properly when we were ready. Food came out quickly, and appetizers were separated from the main courses. Everything was beautifully displayed and absolutely delicious. We tried the spring rolls, roti massaman curry, House soup, green curry with tofu, pad see yu with beef. Flavors were absolute delicious, a little too salty for our taste, but really good. Overall great experience for Thai food and we are very picky. Would highly recommend.
Dining here felt like stepping into a story — told through bold spices, rich textures, and flavors that stay with you. 😍 I went all in on the flavors: 🦀 Crispy Soft Shell Crab – pure umami crunch. 🦐 Coconut Shrimp – golden and addictive. 🍛 Pineapple Duck Curry – aromatic and soul-warming. 🥩 Rib Eye Steak – flame-kissed with a Thai twist. 🌱 Impossible Basil Stir-Fry – so real, you won’t miss the meat. 🍹 Craft cocktails – refreshing, balanced, and perfect with every bite. If you love Thai food (or just crave something unforgettable), this is the spot. 🌶️✨ Follow me @foodie.elite on IG & TikTok for more!
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in New York. I tried the steak, fried rice, wings, chicken dumplings, and pad see ew—every single dish was spot-on and full of flavor. Nothing disappointed. Our server, Oreo, was an absolute pleasure—warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. The food, service, and atmosphere here are all outstanding. Highly recommend!
Wan Waan is a beautiful Thai restaurant right by Chelsea. The space inside feels cozy but still stylish with those gorgeous high ceilings that make it feel open and airy. Just the perfect place for a good meal. Order their perfectly made cocktails or mocktails and you can tell they put a lot of care into each and every one. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, bold and just plain delicious how authentic Thai cuisine should be. Staffs here are amazing, super friendly and always make you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit.
Food: I came here for dinner with a friend and ordered the Shrimp Basil Thai Stir Fry with White Rice. I liked that I was also able to customize my order so that it was not spicy. Overall, the dish was flavorful, savory, and fresh. The speed of the service was fast, we were sat quickly, and our waiter was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant if you’re craving Thai food!
after a long day of walking, we decided we couldn’t go wrong with thai for dinner & our closest bet was wan waan. we walked in & were seated immediately. we ordered thai tea (fresh), papaya salad (spicy & delicious), tofu pad see ew & shrimp pad kee mao, they were super kind and removed the tails from the shrimp also! the food hit spot & our tastebuds just right. the service was attentive without hovering, overall a solid & not overcrowded/loud dining experience for a random wednesday night.
Food is great as always but I think I’m going to stick to delivery in the future. Service was absolutely horrible. I was with 2 friends for dinner last night. The waiter was making such a huge deal as we were going back and forth between 2 apps - said he already sent it to the kitchen. Like who the heck sends partial orders to the kitchen?! And what sort of military camp is this where you can’t have an ongoing discussion and decide what you want before some dude hits send on a machine? Ridiculous! My friend also waited almost an hour for her cocktail. We had to remind them twice and the second time the waiter acted as if we were the crazy ones for asking giving us a very snippy reply. Lastly, the wait staff repeatedly bumped into our table AND kept bringing us someone else’s food lol. 3 times we had to tell them we were done ordering. Chaotic and unwelcoming environment. Food is typical Thai cuisine you can get at many other restaurants so like I said, def no rush to come back. Extremely off putting service.
The flavors were way too heavy. I ordered Pad Thai and Duck Noodle Soup — both dishes had an odd, overly sweet taste. I asked for no spice in the Pad Thai but it still came with chili. Ended up feeling nauseous later that night. I will not come back.
