Was Kunden über Woo Can Cook sagen
Woo Can Cook is praised for its flavorful fried rice and generous portions. The kimchi bacon fried rice and orange chicken special are highly recommended. Some customers found dishes too salty or greasy, and wait times can be long, especially during peak hours.

Sublime flavors meets bold flavors. Yes. It's paradoxical, but that's what the fried rice evangelizes. I got the vegetarian kimchi fried rice sans the bacon and I saw Jesus. Rapturous flavors of kimchi and hot spices lassoed all the rice to bring divinity to my tongue. If you visit California, visit Oakland. If you visit Oakland, visit Prescott. And when you're here EAT 👏🏻 AT 👏🏻 WOO CAN COOK! ❤️
The orange chicken special was super tasty and the portions were big even for a glutton like myself!

Damn, this place is really good. Haven't had Chinese food like this before. The Bacon fried rice with some of their chili sauce is straight FIRE! It's really a 2 person dish. Places like this are why Oakland is on the map for food!
The food hits the spot every single time! Love their hot orange chicken-- it's a must everytime we stop by. Have get to try a dish we didn't like. Their new cocktails are tasty, hot toddy was perfect for the colder evenings too.
Woo Can Cook has become my comfort food go to. On tough days, this place is the pick- me-up I can count on. I’ve never had a meal here that didn’t lift my spirits. Thank you ❤️
Dayum. Just tried the fried rice and it’s amazing. Which a simple dish with so much flavor. Can’t wait to try the garlic noodle next time.
Came here on a busy night and was so pleasantly surprised that we weren't getting food out of a big plastic container - it's all extremely fresh and you get the food hot! The specials - kimchi noodles and orange chicken were great — spicy without being dumbed down, and everything tasted fresh. The chili oil they make is amazing!!! Can't wait to see what other new items they bring. Glad to see a place stay authentic and constantly bring in new dishes and experiment.
Fried rice with kimchi and bacon is my go to choice there, it’s amazing. Generous portion and full of flavor. The specials are great, have been very impressed every time I’ve eaten there.
This place is great! I started eating their food at the West Oakland Farmer's Market. So glad they are now at the Prescott Market. The food is great and so is the atmosphere. The crispy bacon is my go to.
This fried rice exceeded my expectations. I was honestly surprised at the amount off flavor they pack in. A simple offering, yes but excellent execution. Woo can indeed cook.

Good rec for the kimchi bacon fried rice. I was skeptical, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks y'all!

A week ago, I ordered spicy garlic noodles with chicken. It’s literally noodles & chicken (wish it had some veggies). They accommodated my no chili sauce request. I have to come back and try out the other items on the menu.
Ordered the weekly special Livin Linguia Loca and it had a kick. Food came hot though it took a while- probably due to it being the grand opening so I didn’t lower my rating for the benefit of the doubt.. howeverrrrr. It was very saturated. Maybe it’s chili oil at the bottom?? But there was a pool. I’m not accustomed to fried rice served like this. I had some & I shared with my husband. I fully expected to devour it all by myself but it’s not for me.

The food is pretty darn good. I had the spicy kimchi noodles and I have to say they were darn spicy, but they tasted great. Next time I'm definitely going to get them maybe a little bit less spicy if that's possible. My friend had the orange chicken and he seemed to love it. The ambiance is fantastic, the public market setting. Service was a little bit nonchalant and not quite as professional as it could have been.
Insanely salty for no reason. I don't have high blood pressure and don't care about sodium content - but I do care about a $20 bowl of rice tasting good. Salt overshadows all other wonderful (assuming) flavors. This was my second bowl of Thai Basil Chicken - thought the first one (soon after opening) was salty due to shaking hands stemming from new space excitement, but no: second bowl of Thai Basil Chicken is even saltier. What a shame really. Update: told the guy at the register “I left you a not-so-great review, because the rice is insanely salty. If you reduce salt content in recipe, just leave a comment under my review, I’ll try it again, and update review.” He was pissed - said “no thank you” and shook his head. Update - December 28, 2025: They fixed the salt content, much better now! Updating to 4 stars.

While I understand that it's a Sunday so the farmer's market is happening and Prescott Market just opened but I waited a full hour for my food. The fried rice was exceptionally greasy. I'm not sure I'd recommend it or return to try something else.
Nice staff, but food was really too spicy, luke warm and the spice overtook any flavour.

Skip this spot. I'm Asian... Asian food is my go-to. Will support good Asian food left and right. Ordered Popcorn Chicken rice bowl. So much glaze my rice was soup. Clearly I'm not opposed to some sugar, since that's what glaze is --- but this was disgusting. I had to order a side of rice to even get down some of the food... so altogether spending $26 for sugar rice porridge --- nah dawg.
I live in the neighborhood and come to Prescott Market frequently. I want all of the businesses to make it, so I give them my money. But Woo Can Cook has been pretty disappointing. I’ve tried several dishes here and they all taste basically the same, like the sauce they use on everything. It’s all you can taste. No umami. (I like spicy food, so maybe it’s this particular sauce that just doesn’t do it for me.) Also, the quality is hit or miss. I’ve had dishes that definitely taste fresh, but other times it’s like they cooked it yesterday and then tossed it in the wok to reheat it when my order came in. On my most recent visit, I had the orange chicken, which consisted of dried-out rock-hard pieces of chicken (in the same hot sauce that’s on everything) over some stale, dry leftover rice. With a Topo Chico and a 20% tip it was around $24. Not worth it. I gave them a chance. I’m going to skip this place when I come to Prescott Market from now on.

I really wanted to enjoy this, but it was easily the worst General Tso’s chicken I’ve ever had. It felt like a bucket of soy sauce and an extra cup of salt were poured over dry, overcooked chicken, the sodium level was honestly through the roof. While the fried rice was thankfully less salty, the meal overall was a waste of money and a disappointing addition to Prescott Market.

Food is heavy and mediocre. My husband has ordered from here a couple times and never been that excited. I’m celiac and can’t go because they won’t clean out the wok on a busy night, and aren’t particularly nice about it. The specials look more interesting than the regular menu for what it’s worth. To be fair, I’m sure it’s not easy being a vendor at Prescott Market, especially on a busy Friday night.
