My family have visited multiple times and loved the food every time. Service is great and food is out quickly.
I always seem to go here when the wait staff are busy in the bar half. I don't drink, so I am always in the Garcia's half. The food is great. I am a fan of the Garcia's in Eagle River, so having a location in Palmer where I live is fantastic. I go there at least 2 times a month and highly recommend it as one of the top 5 places to eat in Palmer.
The food was fantastic and the lady doing the service was excellent. Definitely a typical stop for me now!
My wife and I usually pair up with our friends quite often and come here for weekend bar nights. The staff is super friendly and really bring a truly good experience to the bar. Live music on Fridays is Always super fun and gets all of us dancing. 10/10 get the dry rub bone in wings and thank me later! We always have such a good time at Klondikes
Clean fast friendly service! Very good food. Wasn't a fan of the rice but that's okay everything else was scrumptious! We had tacos mini chimis chips and salsa guacamole(was good big chunks) and pollo fundito for the three of us came home with plenty for lunch the next day!
Went today while two ladies were running basically the entire place (plus the awesome guy in the kitchen) and they absolutely killed it! The food was fantastic, the gals were super busy and did an awesome job taking care of everyone! I will recommend this place to everyone I know, it was awesome! So glad I stopped by!
Visiting from Fairbanks and this was a gem. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! Enjoyed the banter with our server and the jalapeno margaritas were delicious! The cook was great! Appreciated this at the end of a long day from being outside. If I am back in town from Fairbanks will be stopping here again!
Absolutely loved the atmosphere and bartenders on a Thursday night! The kj was wonderful and she did an amazing job with voice stabilizing! I just missed the food cutoff to try anything but I'll be honest, what came out the kitchen looked scrumptiously delicious (i was tempted to steal someone's tacos!)
Went here late on Sunday and it was a very classic bar and it had a dancefloor, darts, board games, basically WAY more than I expected a bar to have which was nice! We ordered the quesadillas with steak and it was surprisingly BOMB! I don’t know why but I just didn’t expect an American style bar to serve an amazing quesadilla! Highly recommend! The service was also awesome! The waitress stated they have trivia night every Sunday and Wednesday so that’s a bonus in my book.
I had the shrimp tacos. I guess I was expecting more of a fresh taste to them and I should have looked at the description better. They were basically a fajita taco. It was good flavor but a little oily. I like green salsa and they only had red but green chalula worked out. So overall it was a good meal. Great service
⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (3.5 Stars) Klondike Mike’s & Garcia’s Grill has potential, but based on our experience at the bar, the service left a lot to be desired. Joe and I stopped in for pre-dinner drinks a few times, and while they poured great drinks, the overall experience was pretty lackluster... One night, we were lucky to have a fantastic bartender named Meadow—attentive, friendly, and actually focused on serving customers. But the other times? Not so much. Despite the bar not being busy at all, the bartenders seemed more interested in chatting with their friends behind the bar, drinking on the job, and prioritizing the regulars over new customers. It gave the place a pretty unwelcoming vibe. It wasn’t even prime tourist season yet, so there’s really no excuse for inattentive service. Both Joe and I have worked in the service industry, and we know that a good bar experience isn’t just about pouring strong drinks—it’s about making sure everyone feels welcome and taken care of. A little more professionalism and attention to all guests would go a long way in improving the experience. Would we go back? Maybe—but only if we knew we’d get someone like Meadow. Until then, it’s a decent spot for a good drink, but don’t expect top-tier service unless you’re a regular.
Pros: Location nearby, never gotten sick from the food, mostly friendly, some entertainment from the tvs; watching the crowd at Klondike Mike's can be amusing But come on guys, it's Palmer, Alaska... You don't come here for the Mexican food! I ONLY eat here when I'm bored, starving, and I feel like flushing money down the toilet.
*I'd drink there, but i wouldn't eat there. * Met some friends here for dinner. Hostess and bartender were great. Very good service. Nice atmosphere as well. But the food..... ummm no. Little to no sauce, very dry, very tasteless. Do not recommend.
It was very cold inside and the restaurant/bar has a weird setup. We ordered nachos and watched them sit at the window while our waitress was in the bar area talking with someone. Nachos were cold and not very good anyway.
It’s a bar, with a condensed menu from a Mexican restaurant. The waitresses were super busy; the place was understaffed. Management needs to better manage that. The kitchen forgot to make an entire meal for our table. They forgot to make an appetizer and a meal from the table next to us. No fault of the waitresses because they were short staffed, but we waited an incredibly long time between them coming to the table. We had been done eating for 30 minutes before she came back to check on us. Multiple people from our group had to go to the bar to ask her for whatever it was we needed (drinks, food that was ordered, the check, to-go boxes). The waitresses were phenomenal, the food was so-so, the place is a dirty bar. Overall, I would NOT go back for food. It used to be wonderful for food and we would bring the whole family. Not sure what happened but it has gone way downhill.
Our server initially greeted us and sat us with menus and drinks, then proceeded to leave us sitting for over 30 minutes taking orders of two tables that came in after us. Mind you, we were sitting at the long bar height table in the middle of the room. My husband finally went to the counter to tell him we were ready to order, and he asked my husband for here or to go, then seemed surprised that we were sitting there when my husband pointed at us. He took our order, and the table next to ours, and probably 15 minutes later went back to the table next to us to take their order again. He had accidentally thrown away their order slip. Their food took at least an hour to get to them after every other table had gotten their food. The only saving grace of the whole experience was the poor woman helping out from the bar side, who we tipped separately to make sure she didn’t get shafted if she had to share tips with the guy supposed to be doing the job. The cooks were doing their jobs, we had no issues except with the server.
Did this burger patty even ever touch the grill? It’s so raw you can still hear the cow mooing in your ear. I gagged after biting into it and getting that putrid raw meat taste. I’m disgusted. It’s like they cooked just the tippy top layer so it looks cooked and called it a day. They’re saying that it’s not their to go box, which is funny because I guess that means the mini chimichangas and pulled pork sandwich we also ordered from there isn’t theirs either
Spent $60 on an online order I got some cheesecake such a crazy expensive but they are good even though they're very small, and an order of the mini chimichangas which come with one cup of jalapeno cream cheese, I called them and asked if they could throw one more in there because there's no option to order it online and they told me no because it cost $3 and there's no option to add it in, I mean for $60 you think they could throw a side of cheese in there, most likely will not be ordering from here again.
I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was probably the worst burrito I’ve ever eaten, but what can you say it’s Mexican food in Palmer… funny thing is that they confirmed the meat in my burrito was “carne asada” I’m not sure they actually know what type of steak they need to use or how to marinate the meat…. Omg
