Food and the atmosphere is amazing here! This is the place I’ve been looking for ever since my Germany trip. Staff were super! Would definitely be coming back.
I have been coming to Jorg's for many years now and they have never disappointed. They are the only restaurant that cooks their potato salad just like my Opa did. No matter what you order you cannot go wrong. The server there Stacy is such a blessing to the restaurant, she makes everyone feel very welcome.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Stopped in on a rainy day to find a lovely, cozy German spot. We were sold on the warm atmosphere, but the food and service were perfect as well. Best German cuisine I've had in Texas. We live an hour away but will be sure to visit again. Reservations recommended, and the kitchen closes between lunch and early dinner service. I'd call this a hidden gem but judging by the crowd of regulars it appears that this is just a gem!
Not just a top restaurant in Plano, a must-visit in Dallas. Every dish is excellent, try them all with a German beer. The liptauer teller is perfection. The weinerschnitzel is the best outside of grandma's haus in Germany. End the night with a coffee and dessert, all are phenomenal. I bring my family every time, we even ate here on my wedding night.
This place has the best ham & cheese in Dallas. We also tried their fried cheese that was excellent, I definitely recommend it to try something different. They of course have a spread of delicious beers to try, I got the Halles and loved it. On top of that, they’ve got super kind servers who take their job very seriously. We had a tiny issue with the meal, and Jorg’s responded generously and did their best to fix it. If you’re walking through Plano or searching Dallas for a good Austrian spot, make it Jorg’s! Ask for Stacey, she’s awesome.
Jorg's has to be (and is) the most spectacular place to eat in Plano period. I've been going here for nearly 20 years and I have yet found another restaurant that matches the charisma, energy and great authentic food that this place serves. Jorg himself tends to each person as if they were part of his family and when you leave, you leave with a fulfillment that generally doesn't come from any other restaurant. I've never been displeased by any aspect of the business and im sure their are many more years to come. My family's favorite meals are the Budapest sausage meals and for me the self made vodka/jalapeño is the best drink a person has ever had the pleasure of experiencing. This place is just WOW through and through.
Here’s a NED-style review for Jorg’s Cafe Vienna: --- ✅ What Works Well - Authentic Austrian and European-style cafe with traditional dishes and pastries. - Cozy, charming atmosphere with European café vibes. - Delicious schnitzel, sausages, and hearty soups. - Freshly baked pastries and excellent coffee. - Friendly, welcoming service. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Limited menu focusing mainly on Austrian specialties. - Small space, so can feel cramped during busy hours. - Prices are moderate to slightly high for a cafe. - Not ideal for large groups or big meals. --- 🎯 Verdict Jorg’s Cafe Vienna is a delightful spot for authentic Austrian flavors and European café charm—perfect for a cozy breakfast or casual lunch. Rating: 4.2 / 5 --- Want pastry or dish recommendations?
Made a reservation for 2 in advance so we didn't have any issues getting seated. The place is quite 'cozy' with a bit of squished togetherness BUT the people, food, and atmosphere made up for that. The schnitzel and brats were soooo good. We'll be back soon for more!
Wonderful atmosphere with authentic Austrian energy. Quirky and cool. I enjoy the bar top in the evening. Looking forward to the new patio area coming soon. It will really add to the great vibes. Must try the sausage sampler.
Stopped in for dinner/lunch because my boyfriend has been telling me about this place since i moved to Texas. The atmosphere is absolutely awesome, I adored the Bavarian and Austrian decor. It really does feel like you're stepping into a bar in München. And the food is awesome, absolutely worth stopping in. Stacy was a treat. We'll be back for sure.
Been wanting to try this place for a while, and it did not disappoint! Tried the wurst sampler.. so good! So many different flavored sausage samples, and it gives me an idea of what I might order next time. I’ve had many breaded schnitzels elsewhere before, but was intrigued by a sautéed version on the menu. Got the Jagerschnitzel.. so so good! Spaetzle noodles were great, perfect for taking in every drop of the sauce. Also enjoyed sides of potato salad and red cabbage. My favorite was the Apple Streudel! Loved it! Service was really great, very attentive. Fun place!
Absolutely delicious from start to finish! We had a fantastic experience at Jörg’s Café Vienna in Downtown Plano. The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We started with the pretzel cones and a savory cheese spread—warm, soft, and perfectly salty. The main dishes were just as memorable: crispy schnitzel with tangy potato salad and a bratwurst plate that came with rich sauerkraut. The drinks were a highlight too—a jalapeño martini and a decadent chocolate espresso cocktail that was almost dessert in itself. Speaking of dessert, the apple strudel was heavenly—flaky, warm, and topped with whipped cream and a side of rum sauce that brought it all together. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We never felt rushed, and every course came out just right. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great German and Austrian cuisine in a charming and cozy setting!
Our experience at Jorg’s Cafe Vienna was 10/10. The staff was so kind, especially Stacy our waitress. Stacy added so much to our experience as she was attentive, funny, down to earth, and made things fun with dressing up!! She also recommended us some of the best dishes we’ve ever had, which we will be going back for such as the goulash, the Brat Burger and the apfel strudel. Every aspect of Jorgs is a 10/10, the ambience, the food, the staff. This is a great place to go out with friends or family. The story behind Jorgs Cafe is very sweet as well, but you’ll have to go to find out what it is! I highly recommend this place, and thanks again so much to Stacy for making our experience even more special!!
I recently had dinner in Cafe Vienna, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Despite a slight delay in receiving our food, the ambiance of the restaurant added to the enjoyment of the evening. However, it's worth noting that the vegetarian options were somewhat limited. That being said, I opted for the veggie sandwich, and I was pleasantly surprised by its delicious flavor, especially when paired with the tasty sauce it came with. Another highlight of the meal was the potato salad, which had a unique and flavorful twist. My partner, who enjoys meat dishes occasionally, found the bratwurst thoroughly satisfying. In terms of beverages, we sampled a variety of beers, and one that particularly stood out was the Hellas, which was incredibly refreshing. As for the sides, the onion and chive dish was decent, though not exceptional. On the other hand, the fries were quite satisfying and served as a great accompaniment to our meal. The service throughout our dining experience was friendly and attentive, which definitely enhanced our overall satisfaction with the visit. Additionally, for those driving to the restaurant, it's worth noting that street parking is available, but there's also a nearby parking garage with a three-hour limit. In summary, while there were minor hiccups such as the delay in food and limited vegetarian options, the delicious food, inviting ambiance, and attentive service made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.
First time visit for us and it exceeded all expectations. We live in downtown plano and after trying to walk-in a few times, we finally wised up and made a reservation. We had the pretzel with cheese to start. For our entrees, my husband had the Oktoberfest bratwurst. So flavorful. I had the schweine (pork) wienerschnitzel with spatzle noodles. I also added a side of the Jäger sauce and highly recommend! It was absolutely delicious. We were too full for dessert but cannot wait to go back very soon. Adam was our server and he was very knowledgeable and kind. Thank you for a great date night Jorgs!
So many amazing appetizer options! Very cozy and cute interior. Felt like I was back in Munich again. :o) Huge portion sizes; really enjoyed the gravy on my Jager Schnitzel! Even though the waitstaff and kitchen were short-staffed, I felt like we got our food super quickly considering how many diners there were! Our waitress Stacy (I believe her name was) was an absolute rockstar!
Man, I had such high hopes for this place. The atmosphere was so fun with Austrian polka music, flags and decorations everywhere. The meal started strong with the pretzels and Liptauer, tasting just like I remember. However, it went down hill after that. The Jäger Schnitzel had almost no flavor, the Wiener Schnitzel tasted like it has been cooked in over used oil, the Scheiter Haufen was dull, and the Knackwurst was just okay. All in all, I was pretty let down and probably will not be back.
