My partner and I came for dinner after a long day of working and our server Tony was amazing and definitely a reason we will be returning! Also the food was amazing
Brix Tavern has been the spot for many of my boozy Sundays, their bottomless mimosas hit the spot and you definitely get what you pay for! Their food is delicious, I’ve never had any issues with the food and always try new thing because it’s all so good. The brunch comes with these complimentary fruit and cream covered donuts that are amazing, I wish I could buy some to take home. Their dinner is just as good as their brunch, I recommend the pot pie!
This place is so great!! One of the best spots for brunch. Not only do they have great bottomless mimosas, delicious food, but, service was great as well. Lori was our waitress. She was funny, kind, enthusiastic and even put up with our crazy bunch. Definitely appreciate the good level of service. We will be back and highly recommend!!
The Brix Tavern is an amazing place. I've been there for brunch, dinner and I've also ordered takeout before. I love the food, I always get their salt and pepper calamari regardless of what I'm actually trying to get for my meal. Happy hour is really nice too when you meet it and it's for food (not all meals though) and drinks. It is quite pricey but I love their food so I keep going back. Ordering online for takeout was super easy too. Ambience is great inside but you can sit outside and people-watch. Service is nice and the people there are cool. Seating doesn't take long as long as there are open seats but it's a hotspot so it can get crowded.
We ran in real quick before the Blazers game. Service was great. I had the Polenta & Mushrooms and really enjoyed it. My husband had the Tuna. He didn’t offer to share, so I’m assuming it was delicious ;) We then also had the Grill Cheese with Tomato Soup and that was also yummy. Our two boys also had the kids pizza and cheeseburger, and my husband and I both had two drinks and we got out of there for under $100, which seems rare these days for the amount of food and drinks we had. It was also happy hour, and a pretty good one for what’s around town :) Also seems like a great place for a larger party or event.
Great place to go for Easter brunch... buffet style so you served yourself; family oriented. Variety of food choices and it all tasted amazing. Will come back for sure and try a non brunch meal.
Absolutely fantastic service from Jennifer. The patio seating was amazing and shaded and the food was delicious!! Celebrated a birthday here and the birthday dessert was made extra special with homemade toppings. Would definitely recommend coming here for brunch (make a reservation!!!)!
I love this place!! One of the best places in Portland to get bottomless mimosa brunch. The pictures below are from their Happy Hour. It was wonderful as well. The tachos are tota with jalapeños and sour cream 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 so good!! The fries calamari was the perfect texture and the tomato bacon soup and grilled cheese tasted like home 💓 Do not pass this place at any hour!
Had my main man Marlon as the bartender for happy hour and was damn good service. Had the Thai wings they were bomb calamari was coo and creme Brule was delicious. Not to mention ghe cocktails. I had 3 drinks and 3 eats came out to about 70 bucks so highly recommended inside and out of happy hour
We had our anniversary brunch here. Lovely outdoor seating. My husband had the steak skillet and I had the southern Benedict. I really loved the way they cooked the hashbrowns. We also had Mimosas and they were delightful.
I’ll start this out by saying that you can really tell that the management team really cares about cleanliness. From the air vent covers, the table bases, the chair legs to the kitchen area visible from the dining room. Immaculate. My server Jackie was lovely, she was present and knowledgeable of the food, wine and liquor menu and gave polite and friendly service. Cocktails arrived at the table in less than five minutes and when plates were finished she was at the table with a quiet and respectful demeanor within moments to see how we were. The restaurant being clean was nice (and shockingly rare in Portland) but the service was excellent. I will definitely return.
Fun place for brunch! Food was tasty, the staff was friendly, and it's a fun enjoyable atmosphere. They aren't lying about "bubbles with every bite" they kept my glass full the whole time (including after we got our check)! We had a great experience!
Wasn’t planning in going inside, but the name kinda sounded rustic and inviting, and I don’t regret going in. It was more upscale than i was expecting it to be, and there were a wide variety of food as well. Happy hour was going on when I visited, and some good grub was on offer for really reasonable prices, for example a lot was available under 5 bucks. As for the drinks, happy hour cocktails were some of the best I have seen in most Portland taverns. I chose the pumpkin spice daiquiri, and it packed a punch, totally did not disappoint. Theres a mystery brown bag beer for 3 bucks during happy hour, you don’t know what you ll get, which is quite exciting. Overall, an amazing experience, well-dressed people patronizing it, and the servers were very friendly.
Absolutely loved it here. We came in with a big group and they were able to accommodate us. Service was great and food cane in pretty quickly as well. Talking about food, it was great. It was very flavorful 10/10. I had the Brix Fried Chicken. It is crispy fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and seasonal roasted veggies (that concisted of red bell peppers, yellow squash and zuchinni). They also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from. They had great service. I will definitely be coming back again!
Fun brunch. Patio seating with fresh air was great. I wanted to try their bottomless mimosas but was unable to. Their coffee and flavored lemonade was quite good though. Waiter was nice and gave us some complimentary donuts for our wait
Came to Portland for a vacation and we stopped by Brix for a casual dinner after some sight seeing. From the start we loved the atmosphere and our dining experience. Service was great throughout and the management stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our meal which is always a plus. The food was great. I got the pot pie which wasn't too heavy on dough and loaded with fillings. Nice modern takes on dishes.
Had brunch at Brix and it was really good! I enjoyed the Benedict on a corn bread (never had that before). The staff was really friendly and the food/drinks weee delicious. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast!
We made reservations here for girls day. We had to park a couple of blocks away. It wasn't hard to find. The staff was nice. The food was decent. They gave us free donuts with our meal. It was very packed. The decor was interesting.
Stopped by today for a quick bite after running errands. We had the wings and halibut tacos. Wings - overall really good, just wish they were a little crispier. Tacos- 10/10 +the capers are a fun touch.
So I just happened on this amazing place! The cocktails are unique and varied.. Prices are GREAT VALUE. The food is to die for.. The Brix Nachos were the Best!! Loads of variety.. Nice atmosphere and the waitress was very attentive and we'll informed on the menu. To top it off INDOOR DINING!!! Take that wildfire smoke
Came here for a gal brunch, because well MIMOSA'S!!! the food was amazing and loved the extra touch of the donuts brought out when you sit down. I'd maybe suggest sharing the plates if you aren't that hungry!
We came here for Portland dining month. They have a large group room in the back which is great for more private parties. Even though we had a large party, the service was great and the food was prompt. I started with the spicy, sweet cocktail. I can’t remember the name, but I’d highly recommend. For dinner, I had the caprese salad (so so so good) and the truffle mac and cheese (also delicious, probably some of the best I’ve had). I had the brownie too. It was good, but I could have skipped it had it not been included in the meal.
Good friends gathered in the bar and truly enjoyed our evening, server was so efficient and charming, food was delicious and value was spot on.
Our server handled our large group like a pro, visiting the table as often as needed, even splitting all the tabs and making adjustments for who wanted to pay for what items. Be aware to review your bill for an automatic gratuity though; I rushed into my habitual 20% tip and later realized it was on top of the large group 18% already on there! I'm not mad because a great server deserves extra every so often.
Wonderful Thanksgiving spread with not only the traditional roast turkey, but also salmon, prime rib, and even a vegetarian option. The side dishes are delicious and the dessert bar includes pies, bread pudding, and chocolate cake and brownies. This is our second year in a row. And we don't have to clean up after a lovely holiday meal. Btw, they have a few big screen TVs playing the Thanksgiving football games, or you can sit far enough away if you aren't into that kind of thing.
Always great food! Nice environment, not too loud. Seating took a bit longer than expected but service was great.
Brix tavern was rustic themed and had a good vibe to it. Bruch was busy but the customer service didn’t fail. My company did bottomless mimosas, and THEY ARE BOTTOMLESS. The server kept coming around and filing up their glasses. I ordered the chicken and waffles. My biggest gripe was the portion size. For $16 bucks I figured I would’ve gotten more chicken or at least the WHOLE waffle. I got one chicken tender, half a waffle, and scrambled eggs. I’ve had better but it wasn’t terrible. I didn’t get to try the other dishes. Parking wasn’t hard to find, but had to pay for it. I just used parking kitty.
Chicken pot pie was pretty good, but I think it would’ve been better with a standard pie crust top instead of the puff pastry. Set at the bar, service was excellent.
Nice vibe and surroundings . Daily specials like the happy hour all night on Mondays. Took advantage of the happy hour and had the tomato bacon basil soup, chicken wings with ancho chili sauce, turkey sliders with mashed potatoes and cranberry and a Margarita pizza. All of the dishes were very tasty. Oh, almost forgot the pumpkin cheesecake bread pudding with ice cream. Very, very good. Won't be disappointed with anything here.
Appetizer was good (calamari and halibut tacos). Main dinner was ok, I got the July dinner special ribs and chicken, the coleslaw that was included was not good at all the fries was really good. Bf ordered their whiskey burger with tots, it was ok... needed more sauce kinda dry but the tots came out perfect. The cocktails were meh I got the huckleberry daisy and my bf got the oregon mule. Order their seasonal bread pudding (blueberry lemon) to go that was also just ok.
Let me start off with we had a large party. There is a lot going on for the servers. The happy hour menu was reasonable in the price. The food was delicious. My only complaint-when the server took our order the food came to the table randomly. The person bringing the food did not take the order and he was very confused. It was difficult when several ordered the same food. This lead to a missed order, there is nothing more irritating watching others eat. Besides this, everything was great. I recommend going here for happy hour.
My whiskey burger was pretty good, just would have preferred a bigger meatier patty I think. The beat salad was bomb, the toasted hazelnuts were delicious. Finally the Heath brownie, a respectable 7 out of 10. Will definitely go back, seems like a great atmosphere for cocktails. Awesome service.
The food was good, the presentation and service excellent. Our favorite parts of our meal were the grits and salmon Benedict eggs. The gravy was nothing to write home about. They do have bottomless(to a point) mimosas that are well worth the price. They also give out complementary cinnamon doughnuts as an appetizer that were Amazing!
Solid spot for brunch. Very fairly priced with lots inclusive options for customizations (veggie substitutes, half portions, extra bacon etc). They offer FREE DONUTS. Yes, free doughnuts with jam and lemon curd as “table side bread” before your meal. That alone, sold me. They are generous with bottomless mimosas (almost too much if that’s such a thing!). Great spot for girls brunch or group parties. I wouldn’t recommend it for a date night. It gets very crowded and noisy in the dining room. Street parking is available but be expected to pay and walk a few minutes.
They were short staffed and we were a bit forgotten. Our server who ended up jumping in was awesome and gave us free dessert to make up for it. However, the manager bypassed us without a word many times in the evening and definitely saw we were not getting served. The food was also fantastic but again took a long time coming out.
Great NW Portland space. Had our staff xmas party here this year. We got the smaller private dining area. We were about 12 people and our server was insanely efficient! All staff seemed courteous and professional. Just outside was a very large xmas party and the front had regular diners. I came here when this 1st opened and am honestly impressed that it's still here. I've been to the Tualatin location as well. This is my only issue: the food is not remarkable in either quality or quantity.
We enjoyed brunch and football here with a couple of friends. Good burger, everything about it was solid. Yummy tater tots, crispy crust and a pillowy interior. My partner and I both liked the McKenzie Mexican lager.
Part of a chain of restaurants, very easy going service. Food was not too fabulous, very ordinary. However the chocolate Lava cake was really great. Space was clean and of good standard. Very pricy for the quality…
Great happy hour vibes! Drinks hit the spot 🍹🍺. Food’s alright — not bad, not amazing, but good enough to snack on while hanging ou
Free donuts was a nice touch!! No coffee machine or speciality coffee drinks, just drip coffee. Pretty large menu with a lot of options. Seems like a place that’s perfect for a boozy brunch with a big group. Interior up front is nothing special, the back seems cuter and cozier. Nice you are able to get a reservation for brunch and dinner!
I’ve been to Brix a couple times. It’s got a big menu with some really great options. The burger is delicious, and I highly recommend going during a less busy time. Service was subpar since they were understaffed and the restaurant was packed, which is understandable. I would definitely come again during dinner to try the more extensive menu! The chicken sandwich was a 2/5 in terms of the Portland competition but everything else was solid. I’m glad I went but I wouldn’t go again.
My partner and I had dinner here before a concert, and were pretty disappointed. The service was extremely slow. It took about 15 minutes before we could even order our drinks, and at least 15 minutes to get our drink. I understand being busy and things taking time, but it was not busy. Usually if we get dinner, we get 2 drinks and our meal. Because of how long everything took, we barely had time for one. Now the food was good. My partner got a wagyu beef burger, and he said it was phenomenal. He did ask for extra sauce, which he said he didnt get. But the fact his burger was that good, he was able to look past it. I ordered the Brix fried chicken breast, which came with country gravy and seasonal veggies. The chicken was amazing and juicy and perfectly fried. The veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I devoured them so quickly. But the gravy...I was expecting country gravy, but I got a brown gravy. Not that brown gravy isn't good, but I was expecting country gravy, so that was very disappointing. The food was so good, but it was so hard to get past the brown gravy. All in all, I dont think we will return. The food was amazing, but not worth the long wait and super slow service. And definitely not worth getting the wrong kind of gravy with my chicken and mashed potatoes
I can’t see why people are drawn to Brix, but other than the bottomless mimosas ($10), the food is not the top of my list. Most of the entree range from $17+ if you’re getting some sort of protein. Followed the recommendations and got the fried chicken and gravy. It was very teeny and dry. I love my hash crispy and they were so soggy. No wait typically on Saturday or Sunday for brunch since this place is huge
Great brunch and very good espresso martini. Friends enjoyed their Egg Benedicts but do not order the wedge salad. So disappointed in such a simple dish to prepare. It was ten minutes late with a hot over cooked hard boiled egg and a Tbsp of overcooked bacon and another Tbsp of blue cheese dressing. Looking at it was disappointing and each of 3 bites was just sad. Waiter was sympathetic but didn’t offer a remedy and didn’t comp it. Take it off the menu Brix.
Went in for lunch and waited almost an hour to get our food. I ordered beets salad $13.95 with smoked salmon $8.95, and it was less than appetizing. I counted 2 beets total in my salad and a qtr of really tough, old looking salmon. Seriously.... on top of that, I saw my salad sitting on the counter for at least 12 minutes until I had to ask for it. Our waitress did not check on us once to ask how we're doing or offered to top off our iced tea as if she already knew she wasn't getting a nice tip and just gave up. Sad, because Brix used to be great.
I came here for a Portland Burger Week burger. It was fine, patty felt over worked and/or low quality, not nice meat to be cooking to medium temp. Do not recommend brix at all. The servers made a big stink about us potentially having more than 8 people at once without making a reservation, even though the place is huge and was mostly empty on a Friday night--during portland burger week 🚩. Before hardly anyone showed up, and with some of my quietest co-workers, they actually told us to NOT BE LOUD. Service was insanely slow even though 5-6 servers were working. It would take 10-20 minutes to receive a beer in a can (One IPA on tap $8)! We waited another 30 minutes for a burger that had been forgotten near closing when it was even more slow. The servers were kind and really did their best, I think there's something wrong with how this place is being run. It shouldn't take that long for a drink at a "Tavern."
Overcooked burger to the point of rock hard dry char on stale bread served with a badly broken sauce. Not even the wet shredded lettuce was enough to rehydrate the roll. Not worth the effort to try.
Service was great, food was very mid. I had the mahi, and it was mahi, just sitting in soy sauce. My husband had a fried chicken dish… his words, worst fried chicken he’s had. We had some sort of cheese and pulled meat dip appi that was pretty good, though.
We came in for breakfast and mimosas, and my friend wasn’t able to get served due to forgetting his ID which we completely understood and told our server multiple times was fine. I was still planning on ordering mimosas while we both ordered food. However, our original server , the Latino man made the situation uncomfortable by repeatedly warning us not to “share drinks” before we had even ordered. It came across as accusatory and rude, especially since we were clear and respectful about the policy from the start. It felt like we were being assumed guilty of something we hadn’t even done. We ended up asking for a different server, and she completely turned our experience around she was upbeat, polite and had excellent customer service. I really appreciate how she handled us after that uncomfortable interaction. Management should be aware of the difference in service between the two servers one made us feel judged the other made us feel welcomed
I made reservations for the loft which is not what is shown on the website. Our baby shower did not go well because the space separated 2 people at a time and we thought we were going to be sitting together but that was not the case. Also we ordered our food at 6:50 pm. Two dinners arrived every 15-20 minutes apart. I ordered a Coca Cola at 6:50 and had to remind the waiter 4 time still not receiving it until 7:48. Two items we charged to us and we never received it. Our food was cold when it arrived. I could see if the establishment was packed on a Saturday night but it was quite empty before 8:00. The waitress’ were standing around while we were continuing asking for our food and drinks. When I asked why the loft was not like the picture , I was told well it changed a few weeks ago. Why was I not told this? I could have makes other arrangements. This was a baby shower and for two families to get to know each other. Being cramped and separated ruined this for my daughter and the rest of the family. This was a horrible experience and we will never return nor recommend.
