Arrived around 1pm on a Thursday and the 5 of us were seated immediately. The place was really busy though! Out server was Katie and she was great! They have a large selection of beer and a good menu (although it's more on the smaller side...but that's not an issue!). The food was all super yummy! The Bavarian pretzels are a MUST.... they were outstanding! I had the special which was chicken and biscuits and wow, was it flavorful! I didn't hear any complaints about anyone's food. Overall we had a great experience. For 5 of us with 5 beers was about $120 which seems reasonable. They also sell growlers, and a variety of cans, tshirts, mugs ...etc. Also, they have a huge parking lot! Great place! Highly recommend!

Great beer selection, great pricing, food is bar food but good. Loved the chicken wings. Plenty of parking and amazing atmosphere inside and outside. Great for kids because it can loud but in a good way!

Super crowded on a Wednesday afternoon with a lot of after-work folks looking to wind down. I was fortunate to find a seat at the bar where I very much enjoyed a Genesee Light. Friendly service and the food looks pretty amazing. Having just come from Tennessee (two n's, two s's, two e's), I'm having real trouble spelling Genesee (one n, one s and then two e's). And even harder after this Genesee Light!

Amazing. Only in town once a year and the menu keeps getting better every time. The beers are legit. The food quick and on point. Staff are out of this world helpful and accommodating. Very kid friendly. Our waitress CINDY was amazing!! She was everything yous ask for in a server.

First time visitor. Loved the beer selection. Great pretzels. Really cool building. Lots of history. If you are lucky enough to have Ava as your waitress, you will have an amazing experience. 🍺

A must visit place if you are in downtown Rochester. They offer good food and are known especially for their in house brewed beers! The staff here were friendly and polite. They also have a lot of their own merchandise you could purchase from.

This place is a must if you’re in the Rochester area! If you can get a seat on the patio upstairs you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the falls while having your meal. The pretzels appetizers are very nice and soft on the inside. I liked the beer cheese dip, but the beer Dijon mustard dip was too powerful of a taste. The burger was really good, and the flight of beer is a great way to test out a few of their brews. The service was excellent. I believe our server’s name was Verta (she went by V) and she was very attentive and kept checking on us. Drop by the brew house and you won’t be disappointed.

Very cool, awesome spot! Food not bad. Nothing great. You have a really good choice of beers on hand. My go-to is the kolsch ruby red. It was fairly crowded on a Saturday late afternoon. Nice view of the falls, outside seating. Really neat place, check it out. It's good to see many people out and about enjoying the riches of a Rochester staple.

Always a fabulous experience! Food was delicious and beer always on point! Was a bit disappointed to see you don't offer the Adult Grilled Cheese.

We tried going on a Saturday evening for dinner but the wait time was an hour and 30 minutes for a table inside and outside. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait if you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night! So instead, we went the next day at 11am when they first opened. I’m so glad we did because we got a seat on the balcony overlooking the falls. Service was very friendly and accommodating! I got the veggie burger on a gluten free bun with a side of chips. My group tried the pretzel appetizer and they said it was amazing. The Mac and cheese was also a huge hit for my friends!

I've stopped here a couple of times in my few visits to Rochester and each time has been great! This place had a fun selection of brews to try and good food. I tried their newly released Black Cherry Vanilla Kellerbier and it was delicious and smooth, with subtle hints of vanilla + cherry that aren't overwhelming. A fantastic new brew! The service here is also very kind and attentive. I will definitely be returning here in my future visits to ROC.

Really chill atmosphere, very friendly staff extremely attentive waitress. Lots of TVs but it was a football day so we enjoyed. It wasn't very busy while we were there. The view of the falls was beautiful, recommend the balcony if the temperature allows.

I want to come here every time I'm in town. Atmosphere is jovial, food was delicious with numerous great options. Had a delicious Cowboy Burger with macaroni salad as a side , both were terrific. Also tried the Genesee Beer , it was also delicious

Excellent brew house. Came on a Saturday and had less than a 15 minute wait for four. If you had an extended wait you could grab a beer from one of the bars and walk around inside and wait for your table. There's a wide selection of merchandise on the first floor. The dining location is on the second floor and features indoor and outdoor seating. The third floor/roof is accessible and provides great views of the waterfall and city. I had a flight and a burger and was very happy with the food and the service. Highly recommended!

What a cool place! Great nostalgia from when my Dad drank this in the 70's. (The only reason we came) I'm glad we did! Found out we like some of the beers when we bought flights. Except three of the ones we do like, aren't sold nationally. (Ruby Red, Shandy, Mango Peach, the cream hoppy one) All kinds of great merch and history of the beer. We didn't try the food, but it looked good. The flights were only $10. The first level was merch and brewing kettles, 2nd level dining area also with an outside dining area, 3rd level is rooftop with seating area and beautiful view of falls. The staff was all friendly!! What a great time. Definitely check this gem of a place out and throw back a few Jennis! Cheers🍺🍺 Added some pics of Genesse HQ's and Brewery.

One of the best place in Rochester! They have Amazing drinks and food is also really great! Their spinach artichoke dip with naan..is one of the best. Quesidilla and pizza is great too!

We've been coming here sporadically for seven years and it's been consistently tasty and friendly. The beer is great: Cream Ale is a classic, but the rotating options are also worth a try. My only complaint is that they need to bring back the Salted Caramel Chocolate Porter. This time I had the elk burger and it was good, not a wow. Also stole a bite of the chicken pesto naan and that was delicious. The building is very cool, love the outdoor patio and the keg Christmas tree.

Visited Genesee Brew House with friends on a Saturday afternoon. Very surprised by the whole experience. Having grown up in NY and visiting MANY breweries, we never considered Genesee until friends insisted. AWESOME experience. The beers were delicious, and the food was quite good. The building was impressive and had a cool vibe to hang out in. No idea about all the history behind this overlooked brand. Family friendly and comfortable to spend an afternoon at, this is highly recommended if in the area.

One of the best outdoor views of Rochester! We arrived shortly after they opened and were able to get an outdoor table without any wait. The tapenade flatbread was delicious! The Nashville chicken hoagie was good too.

Bruh, I wasn’t hungover or anything, but let me tell ya, pal! It would definitely be worth getting plastered out me mind, waking up not knowing what da heck happened with a pounding headache and crawling to Genesse just ta get a trash plate (red and white dog Genny plate) and enjoy da heck outtah ‘er der bahd!! Bucket list for the trashier than trash plate 🍽️ , try it drunk or hung bud! I did sober but the day Canadians are welcomed back into the US and A, I’ll be there eh!

Great location on the water with lots of space. Their local beers are a staple of Upstate NY and their options are really quite better than what you see canned in local convenience stores. Good views and always a fun time, prepared to wait though if trying to get dinner

Visit for the beer tasting. Stay for the food and enjoy the view of the Genesee River high fall view. The employees could not be more helpful and interested in sharing the many things to see and do in the Rochester area.

Genesee Brew House in Rochester is awesome! The beer is top-notch. Always fresh and full of flavor… and the food is just as amazing. Perfect spot to grab a pint, enjoy a great meal, and take in the view of the falls. Definitely one of the best brewery experiences in the area. Don’t forget to plan a trip to see the keg tree as well.

I only had a beer here. I came because it had a good ratio no AND a great view of the High Falls on the Genesee river. It helps when the weather is amazing. Excellent staff.

The atmosphere is fantastic! We sat down as a group of 5. We ordered the pretzels, pierogis, and wings for appetizers. The beer cheese was the best I’ve ever had. Super savory and not heavy on the weird beer flavor that beer cheese typically has. I ordered the Mac and cheese. It was saucy and tasty. My co-workers got the grilled chicken salad, grilled chicken wrap, buffalo chicken soup, and more wings (they swear they were amazing). We got a wonderful view as well of the waterfall. There is also a cute shop downstairs full of shirts and other items that were great! The service was awesome and the staff downstairs super helpful too. It was a wonderful dinner and I’d definitely go back :)

Every time I visit Rochester, this is a must stop. They have incredible food and incredible drinks with lots of local beers to choose from. The staff are incredibly friendly and they got amazing recommendations so don't be afraid to ask. I recommend visiting the top floor, if there is a short wait and sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful views of high Falls and the iconic Kodak building.

Positive Customer service here at Genesee brewery! I came back for dinner by myself, and asked the guy at bar outside if I could order food inside and bring it out. He said yes… but then after a bit more talking and it being a bit slow at the time, he just said he would go get it and bring it out, “customers first” he said. above and beyond! And then he brought it out !!!

We had a great time at the genesee brewery. The beer was good, and if you like the german style food that is the place to go. The Sausages platter was very good. I recommend it. There is a nice roof top where you can have a drink while waiting for you table and a gift shop downstair where you can buy Genesee beer glass but also read about the interesting story of the brewery. Overall, a good stop in Rochester NY.

I'm not close but the drive is worth it. The employees are nice. The food is always good. I always peruse through the store for the perfect items to buy. And of course the beer. Last time I got a flight and then a glass of the kolsch mango peach. My new favorite. My boyfriend and I are huge fans of the brewery and will continue to come back.

A

Awesome experience overall. Great food, really good beer. It'll be totally great when the city finishes the river crosswalk, and the views will be unobstructed. Anyway we really enjoyed the Schnitzel, Cowboy burger, Reuben sandwich, Cheeseburger plate (kind of a Rochester garbage plate). And we had 2 flights of 4 different ales, and enjoyed them all. The interior is really cool, filled with history. Lots of space, and really nice outdoor seating with the waterfall view. You can also buy canned beer, or draft in 2 sizes of growlers.

I had this on my bucket list for quite sometime! I finally did it on Father’s Day weekend!!! The place is amazing and the beer is good!!! The menu is ok and prices are modest compared to other restaurants. The choices are a bit limited on the food but plenty choices for the house beer! I enjoyed my chicken wings and one pint of the Genesee Beer Blonde!!

We have to go every so often to Rochester and this is the place we have come to trust and love. We actually crave it as we are driving over there. The Genny Plate is a favorite and of course the beers are fantastic. I love the Genesee Cream and to eat Inlike the Reuben . Don’t forget to get merch at the store and beers to go!

Went by twice during my stay in Rochester. First time was for drinks, and was really pleased with the drink selection. Staff were really friendly and a few off work were great to chit chat with a drink. Second time for food was also pleasant. The garbage plate here is a so much better than nick tahou’s. Soup and salad starters were great. The hot dog was really good with the jalapenos. Again, beers were fantastic. Would definitely recommend to come by if you’re in town.

Just ran up on this place commig back from the strong museum. Parked by some loafts at the high falls and there it was beer heven at the end of the bridge, nice gift shop for beer and memorable, drink beer straight form the production line at the bar. Had crackers pretzels cheese and many dips while tasting the samples of beer. Thanks for the visit. Hope to come back one day. Keep up the good work!!!

Needed somewhere to go while my wife had a scheduled 2 1/2 hour hairdresser appointment (ended up being 4 hours) in Rochester. What a great place! Parking is easy with a large parking lot on property. Sat in outside middle shaded section facing waterfalls view and had a wonderful (wood oven?) ricotta cheese and meatball pizza for one and of course saved some for my wife which she also loved. Had a few peach beers 🍺. Pizza was reasonably priced as was the beer. Went to the roof for another excellent (non shaded) view before I left. Service was excellent, food was great and view was absolutely amazing. Give my highest recommendation.

Clicking around Google Maps late one night, I stumbled upon the Genesee Brew House -- 5 hours and 20 minutes -or- 333 miles away from me. I knew immediately that I had to go. But when? Well, last week, I found myself in upstate New York, just an hour away, and made the detour. And, wow, am I glad I did. This place is awesome. Situated in Rochester, New York, along the Genesee River and overlooking the gorgeous High Falls, this cozy spot beautifully combines all things Genesee from the bar, restaurant, and gift shop to the pilot small batch test brewery, historical displays, rooftop terrace, and outdoor patio. Whether it’s your first or thousandth time having Genesee, this place will make you appreciate the brand more than you expected. I only had a chance to have a quick Genesee Cream Ale, one of their classics, but I would love to spend a full night (or ten) here soaking up the unique environment and exploring the food and beer selection in full.

Service was great and personable but most importantly punctual. I wasn't waiting for 30 minutes for my beer like other places. The food was hot and fresh. The honey sting chicken was amazing, especially with both the honey sauce and homemade blue cheese. Fries could have been done better, to be honest, but the chicken made up for that partly. The mach and cheese was excellent, perfect mix of creamy, stringy, and delicious, not the kraft mac and cheese you get from chain restaurants. The cowboy burger was absolutely one of the best burgers I've had, and I can say I've eaten more than a thousand different burgers. Paired with the blue cheese, it was a knockout combo! My only gripe was the chips that came with it seemed very underwhelming and just missed the mark entirely. Between the fries and chips, they lose a point for food. The craft beer was also very good. Not so much different from your modelos and yuengling beers, but in my personal opinion, good enough that I'd rather buy these from the liquor store than the big brand names. Of the majority of restaurants, this place deserves full marks, but I'll be honest and say that this place, although not completely perfect, is a great time with unique drinks and delicious food.

What an impressive brewery! There's a large gift shop on the main level with a tasting area. The rooftop offers beautiful views of the city and the waterfall. The staff is really friendly here and provided great service. There is a good beer selection and I was a big fan of the Mango Peach Kolsch. The food menu is extensive. The pretzels were soft and came with honey mustard and nacho cheese sauces. Their version of the hamburger garbage plate was really good. I wanted to try a local dish and this did not disappoint. Crispy fries with a delicious macaroni salad with a hamburger patty and a spicy meat sauce. This was a really filling dish and this brewery does it well. The meat sauce does have a kick to it.

Got a flight of the golden ales and an appetizer at the brew house. I have to say that the atmosphere was so memorable: the view of Rochester's 96 foot waterfall (brightly lit with the colored lights) was stunning. Highly recommend getting a seat on the upper outdoor porch (weather permitting). The buffalo chicken stuffed perigees are absolutely worth pairing with one of the great beer selections. But what made this a worthwhile experience was the picturesque views of Rochester’ skyline and the magnificent waterfall.

J

Such a cool stop. I didn’t eat here. Just a quick stop to check out the gift shop and have a drink on the rooftop. Great view of the waterfall in the city. Staff were very friendly and showed me around! There’s a large free parking lot right In front.

This is a Rochester gem! Absolutely LOVED the experience and wanted more! The venue itself is absolutely fantastic. Historic building in the heart of downtown WITH PLENTY OF ADJACENT PARKING!!! What a way to live!!?? I really wish we'd come much earlier so we could have toured the facility. I'm sure it's a great tour. So many impressive historical displays around the facility and the place is clearly still a working brewery. So cool! Then the flight showed up! The 12 Horse Ale, Scotch Ale, and Vanilla Porter were such pleasant surprises! I mean, I came in knowing what Genny, Genny Light, and Cream Ale are. They're solid regional beers. No one's going searching for them, but they're good. I've grown accustomed to anticipating the Ruby Red releases in the warm months, but I had no idea that Genny had this kind of depth. And finally, the wings! I'm no Buffalo Wing expert, but I've had my share and I know what's good. These wings absolutely meet the standard for Western NY. The sauce (mild with a side of hot) was brilliant and absolutely reminiscent of the old school Anchor Bar and Duff's sauce. The real deal. Bar service and greetings by staff in the gift shop were so welcoming! We loved our experience and I'm pretty sure we'll be back! Thanks for making a good night even better!

Genesee Brew House is a staple. The roots of it's many beers grow deep in the City of Rochester and represents so much of this regions characterand community. Their beer is always top notch, the food is never disappointing, the staff is always knowledgeable about everythingon the menu, and the lower level store is a destinationof its own. The many events hosted here are always fun, and the views of the Genesee River are spectacular. Boy, could I go for a Genny....

D

This is really a fun place to go for either lunch or dinner. You must make time to spend in the store/museum. So much to see. We had a fun waitress and the food was pretty darn good. I had a very dark porter beer and my friend had a hard cider. Yeah I know a cider at the brewery, what can you do? Unfortunately the weather was lousy so we couldn't spend much time out on the bridge but did walk out to take a few pictures.

Came to the Brew House for the first time after going to the Strong Museum for the first time in years. The place was packed, and we were given a 60-90min wait but were sat within 20 minutes. Had a delicious reuben and the girlfriend enjoyed her dish. Wish they had a full bar for those who don't like beer, but at least they had some nice ciders. Would absolutely go back

My brother and I visited the Genesee Brew House recently. It was a pilgrimage of sorts in honor of our father, who was a big fan of Genesee Cream Ale. The food and service were excellent. We both had the Dog Plate and it was extremely tasty. From our flight of beers we raised a glass of Cream Ale to the old man and tried the 12 Horse, Citrus, and Vanilla Porter which were all very good. This place also offers tours and had one of the largest gift shops I've ever been in. It offered souvenirs of all kinds at reasonable prices. On top of everything else it has a rooftop terrace with unobstructed views of High Falls. Highly recommend!

Great view from this cute pub. Large space but divided into smaller rooms so it feels more cozy. We sat in the heated patio and it was lovely. Attentive service and good food too. And of course, a variety of Genesee beers.

Oldest Brewery in New York State. Amazing experience love going here for the 4 dollar pints and a pretzel. Huge bar and many tables for dinning, decent food options. The shop downstairs is awesome with great options for everyone. Sweet place to bring people who are from out of town. Good spot to meet friends and family.

We decided to take a day trip to the brewery from Buffalo. It's really easy getting to the brew house and there was plenty of parking. The location is great, right on top of the gorge above the river. We went in right away and got a table for two, ordered a few brew house only drafts (helles for me, grape pilsner for my fiancee). Both were fresh and delicious. Our appetizer came out quickly. Very tasty flatbread with pears, goat cheese, balsamic. We enjoyed that for a bit and then ordered our late lunch. I had a garbage plate that was massive. Our server informed me that I could combine the burger/dog option so I went with that. Fiancee had a sausage hoagie, also good. We then took the tour and that was fun. Took about an hour and we got a 15% off card for the merch store. There's so much to choose from there! After all that, we had another beer on the rooftop, then went down to the bar for a flight. We wrapped up our 4 hour day by getting crowlers to go. Wonderful day indeed!

Wow, we really, really liked this place a lot. Didn't even realize it was there until we pulled in the parking lot for the High Falls terrace. I would have liked a tour, but they said they didn't have any ar that time. There is basically a museum with all kinds of history on the lower level with the gift shop. And, the gift shop has everything and anything you can think of, and good prices. Had to have a beer with my meal since it's a brewery. The flatbreads we got were good as we went out of our comfort zones to try something different.

Great Experience & Atmosphere. Special Thanks to Jose (Security) for the hospitality. He really made us feel right at home. Nice rooftop fireworks 🎇 🎆 show was an added bonus.

Ryan and his team do a phenomenal job at what is an absolute staple, MUST stop in Rochester, NY. Massive gift shop, brewery right in the building, huge bar and balcony dining as well as a rooftop overlooking the falls and ample parking which is rare for any downtown city location. Food and beer served with a smile. These guys have it all figured out. Can't wait to be back there again!

Even for a Friday night we got seated pretty fast for 3 people. The place was definitely very busy. The downstairs offers a “gift” shop and you can order drinks at the bar area. Our waitress was so sweet. I said surprise with my wine cooler as I liked both flavors. Food was served pretty fast even with the amount of people there. Myself and daughter had the “grown” up grilled cheese and husband had a “brew house” plate. All the food was so good.

Good food, great vibe, and terrific atmosphere. Sausage plate was pretty good and the Jagerschnitzel was really good. The heated outdoor seating and rooftop views, along with the rest of the exterior and interior, make this a worthwhile place to check out.

I have yet to find a Genesee brew that I like, but it was worth the price of admission to go up on the rooftop deck to see the sun set. Thanks to the mess of (yet another) half-done construction project in Rochester, this is probably the only way you can see the falls now! The pub itself is in a really cool historic building and has lots of history and displays. Huge souvenir shop. Friendly staff.

My first visit to the brew house was great. The prices vary depending on what you want. However, I loved that when I said I’m looking for a Genesee Beer in the middle not to dark not to light . They knew exactly what I was talking about and in fact had two suggestions. I was able sample both before making my final decision. The set up was really nice too! My food came out in great timing as well as my friends. The waiter was very knowledgeable of not just the Beer, but the food as well. The only thing was it was a little on the pricier side for the two of us to eat,but worth the expense because you can tell it was freshly made not premixed food.

That place is one of the top locations in Rochester. With a gorgeous overlook on the High Falls of the Genesee River it's a perfect Spot to enjoy a pint a get a bite. The beer price is a dream! $4 per pint rocks. Also food is pretty reasonable priced and very delicious. Also Vegetarians / Pescetarians find decent options. Not every brew-pub caters meatless!!

The bun on the beef on wick was poor. Almost cake like and no sign of salt on bun. Fries good as well as the roast beef but the au jus was light on flavor.

Amazing atmosphere. Right near the falls. (You can walk over or see it from the roof) Great beer, solid food. Great outdoor areas in all senses of the word. Many TVs. Great vibe. Very easy free parking in a parking lot right near by. I'd definitely go back. Not that kid friendly. Any kid age beyond a kids menu would probably be fine though for lunch.

1 February 2024 We always have a good time coming here, although this time I wasn't pleased with some of the food. The salad I got was slimy, the lettuce was so bad. What happened to offering another side to replace my salad or don't they do that anymore. The burgers were good, but I was missing a third of my bottom bun. So I was holding the burger meat with my hands. It was awfully messy. The good part was that atmosphere with a beautiful view of the Genesee River and the Upper Falls. It's absolutely amazing. I'll be back, but I definitely won't order salad again.

This place is amazing due to its location and views of the city! The food here is ordinary, the portions are standard size and the taste is simple. The place will be interesting for fans of Genesee beer, many types of fresh and different beers. The calling card of this place is its gorgeous panorama!

Very nice brewpub serving good beer and good food. We enjoyed the Scotch ale and the experiment IPA, both were great to drink alone or with food. The menu has many traditional brewpub foods, like brats and burgers. Simple menu, but everything was done right. The service was great. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable, allowing us to taste the beers before buying the whole pint. Good beer, good food, and a great view of the fall. This combination is very difficult to top.

Love going there. Always a good vibe. But….they’ve got to get better help in the kitchen. When I go, it’s usually middle of the week, and recently the burgers are always well done, despite asking for medium rare. I don’t send it back, but man, find someone that can at least cook a burger.

While visiting the falls and walking the path to the bridge we passed by this cute brew house. It was early in the day so not yet open but it looks like a great spot to enjoy some local brew, food and take in the views. There is a patio with string lights.

Our waiter gave us our drinks then gave us time to look at the menu. Then a large family gets seated and gives them their drinks. I always put my menu down so the waiter doesn't think I'm still trying to decide. 13 minutes go by and he goes over to the large family table and takes their orders. I was in disbelief, we've been waiting to place our orders before they got seated. So he finally walks towards us and I'm thinking he's going to take our orders now. Nope. He just gets to our table looks at my husband and makes a hard right turn to the outside tables. Now, I'm pissed. I go up to the hostess and tell her what happened. She was surprised but said she'd come take our orders. Our waiter sees her at our table starting to take our order and he comes right over. He didn't say anything. Our orders were placed and came out shortly after. The food was amazing. We got the Poutine which was seasoned just right. Other places make it too salty. We each ordered a plate. The fries were really good and the mac salad was probably the best I've had at any other place. It actually had some flavor to it! We'll definitely be back.

First timer! Went for the history and the beer and to watch the game. It was a Buffalo Bills game night on Thursday. They close at 10p. Don't stay open even for the Bills! Asked why, bartender replied, nobody wants to be in the area after 10p. Ok? I ordered a flight plus a couple additional beers. Ordered their Beef on Weck, a western NY staple. Not great. The salt and caraway seed all feel on to plate. It wasn't a Kaiser Roll IMO. They appear to use their hamburger roll and top it with caraway & salt without an egg wash & 4 min oven bake to make it stick. The beef was not exciting, more average.. Disappointed.

I was visiting on a business trip from Texas. The venue is great. Get a reservation to sit on the balcony and see the waterfall. We tried a few different beers and they were all good. Food was okay but rather typical. Beer was the focus. Enjoy

The food has never impressed me, and it is definitely expensive for what it is. The staff is not the most attentive either. My prime rib sandwich was marbled with fat that I couldn't chew through. We sat on the outside deck on the 2nd floor. The table was really rickety and seemed like it was about to break if I leaned on it. They don't serve any mixed drinks/cocktails. I personally don't like beer. The view of the waterfall was amazing, and the service was good. The spinach artichoke appetizer was also really good.

Went here with some coworkers on their recommendations and it was just ok. The Bavarian pretzels were good. My meal was a spicy Munster burger. Even with the "spicy" cheese and a drizzle of Sriracha, it lacked flavor. The patty was cooked right on point. Side note the foot bridge next to the brewery was cool.

A friend recommended Genesee Brew House after I mentioned wanting to check out downtown Rochester. We ordered the mushroom burger and the Spaetzle Mac & Cheese. Maybe my expectations were a bit high because it came so highly recommended, but overall, I was disappointed. The burger was overcooked, and for $17 I was surprised it came with chips instead of fries. You can substitute fresh fries, but it costs an extra $3, which feels a bit much. The mac & cheese had good cheese flavor, but it was so heavy and rich that it was hard to finish — it tasted more like something reheated in a microwave than freshly made. The service was also just average — not terrible, but not particularly friendly or attentive either. The view from the place is nice, but for the food quality, service, and price, I don’t think it’s worth it. If I go back, I’ll probably try something else on the menu.

Been here multiple times but today bit a bad taste in my mouth. We called earlier in the day and were told they don’t do reservations, then the girl on the phone proceeded to say “I can guarantee you a table at 6:30pm”. We show up early and the wait time is an hour. I would rather the people just be honest and say the wait would be a long time then lie to us.

P
Patricia Di Iulio (Patti Di Iulio)

I have eaten here before and have had great food and service. I called 12/6/25 for a reservation for 7 people for 12/12/25. The lady took my reservation information including my phone number, date and time for reservation etc. at the end of the call she said a manager would be calling me by Tuesday to confirm the reservation. There was no call, I even checked my voice mail and missed calls. Nothing. Wednesday 12/10 I followed up to make sure everything was set for my reservation on Friday. The lady I spoke with said that “sometimes managers just don’t call or let you know.” They in fact HAD NOT approved our reservation but no one communicated that with me. The manager on staff on Wednesday is “responsive” I was told and would see if they could fit me in. Lauren was responsive. I appreciated that. However, the time offered for dinner was an hour later which threw off plans for an activity that took place after dinner (of 6:30). Now we have to scramble to find another place to make reservations and I only have 2 days instead of 6. This left me not wanting to go back ever if I can’t even trust when I call ahead and be responsible, it isn’t reciprocated with communication.

J
Jeff Schamberger

We had friends in from out of town and figured we would see the keg tree. It was a large group of us so we called ahead to make a reservation. They said that with our size group a manager would call us back if there was a problem with the reservation. No one ever called us back so our whole group showed up. We were told our reservation wasn't in the system and that to seat us it would be a 2+ hour wait. One of the members of our group was a toddler so we went somewhere else. Food is great, but i wouldn't plan on trying to go there for a special occasion with their unreliable communication and no accountability.
