I love this place and eat there often. The food is always great, the service is fast, and staff are very frienly and always in a good mood. I rarely give 5 stars on anything but I cannot find a negative to give only 4 stars.

There's an older guy that works here that is amazing. I was having a sadness quenching dinner to compensate for my horrendous college final grade, and he made me really happy. Chicken was fresher than drakes hair cut. 11/10 definitely would recommend.

Tasty fried chicken with or without spicy coating. Also fried catfish is on the menu. Can't complain about their current special of half-price 8 or 16 piece boxes on Mondays. Wow!
I would give six stars for service if I could. The young woman working the drive thru was truly a joy to speak with. It has stuck with me long after I left the restaurant.
Moe the General manager is the reason my family and I drive to this location specifically. Her work ethic is amazing and she is running the show in the kitchen. She makes sure the customers get their correct order. She’s incredible. Thank you Moe for all you do!
Chicken tender here is good. Take order correctly as usual. The manager or owner, i am not sure. He was really nice to my kid. She got cookies and toys almost every time we met him. These all happened before Covid tho.
I love this new Golden Chick. Food is always good, ice cream machine has worked every time (seriously!), and the managers come around and ask how everything they is. They are very accommodating. I have seen other people have an order mix up in the drive thru, but whenever the happens they seem to make it right.
Placed an online order for pickup. About ten minutes before pick up time, I get a text saying that it was cancelled. I called and the manager, Moe was FANTASTIC. She advised that the stores have no control over that. She offered to take my order over the phone. I arrive to get the food and it was ready! She made sure we had everything we needed and some! The food was fresh, tasty and our large order was correct! Great food and customer service.
I can't brag enough on the lady working the front counter, I didn't get her name but I see her all the time and she's so friendly and full of energy. Always doing the work of 3 people with a smile on her face, she is a model employee and if I owned a business I'd have her running it. If you're reading this miss I just wanna say YOU ROCK! The staff member that took our drive thru order absolutely made our day! I don't do well at drive thrus because I don't hear well. This was the most fun I'd ever had. Mo was her name and she was wonderfull, so kind! So fun and funny! I hope she is there when we go back! The fish was great!

I'm brand new to Texas but must say the food is on point! Fried chicken is crispy and juicy at the same time, fries are perfect texture and bread is real good like a honey flavor. Drive thru people are real friendly too. Definitely a win in my book, I'll be coming back

The cashier was very nice. I ordered a combo, but she wouldn't make my sandwich with the chicken that was already cooked. She said it was too dry. Since I was in a hurry, she offered to make it with chicken strips. Awesome service.

The parking lot has a nice huge area to park after ordering. It was pretty dead the day we went. We were the only ones using the drive thru. The customer service was really nice and helpful. Here are the cons first: I ordered a big and juicy but was served the big and wicked, if I'm understanding correctly. The sweet spicy sauce wasn't pleasant. Reminded me of a spicy pimento cheese/mayo. My fault, I should have said plain. I don't care for the pickles either, so if you don't, give them the deets. The bun on the sandwich was dry and hard on the outside. I was hoping for a better experience. The food was hot and flavorful, however. I enjoy topping my sandwich with fries and a drizzle of cream gravy. At the window, I ordered the gravy last due to forgetfulness and they helped without fret. My kids really enjoyed their meals. They're always excited to eat at Golden Chick. Besides the hard bread and slightly incorrect order, this place has the potential to be 5 stars! Keep up the good work!

The menu is just so bland! Probably good if you prefer not to have a lot of flavor, but the meal I had just didn’t cut it for me.

The chicken strips are always good at this location. Sometimes the sides taste like they are fried in old oil though. Good tea if you are a tea drinker.

Been there twice since opening. Both times I got shorted on my order by one side vegetable even though I was charged for it. Both times they did not include a straw with the drink, or a plastic fork or napkins. Do I really have to ask for a straw with a drink? Do I really have to ask for a fork with my mashed potatoes? Oh wait, I never got the mashed potatoes. Possibly why I never got a fork either.
Roasted Chicken was charred on edges. Meat was dry and hard to chew. They were very busy. Tea was very good.
Pretty good food and friendly staff. Two of the four times that I have been here though I have gotten gravy that has the consistency of chicken broth. I think that this is great food and it can be even better with proper gravy. I am sure that this is probably just a growing pain.

Stopped for some chicken tenders tonight. Went through the drive thru. The employee was friendly and promptly had my order. Downside: when I got home, looking forward to some yummy okra, I was very disappointed. Everything else was wonderful but the okra was super crunchy like it had been over cooked then set under warming lights for hours. Too crunchy for me to eat. Hopefully next trip will be better.
Food quality is variable. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes less so. Sometimes gravy is okay, sometime really watered down. The staff is generally pretty good - helpful and courteous.

Literally spent 10 minutes at the drive through window waiting on my food after they tried to pass of someone elses order to me. Then on top of that, when i got home, i discovered that they still goffed my order up.

Ordered at 9:23 in the drive through, got my food at 9:52 with two cars in front of me. The cars that pulled in at 9:40 were told to go home even though the place closes at 10. Got my food, drove home, order was wrong. My fault for not checking on the spot, but I enjoyed this spot much more when it was a Chicken Express.
Unfortunately due to no one wanting to work according to employee they are struggling to service customers. The other guy that was there still could have acknowledged my presence but totally ignored me🥺. Food has gone way down as well as service. Pray they get dependable employees because I really love their food... .when it's hot and good!
We went to this Golen Chick location 2 days ago and it was very disappointing. The sweet and unsweet tea was sour. We told the people working there and they did nothing, our comments were ignored, they didn't even off to get us some tea from the drive thru. The gravy was slightly thicker than milk and one of the wings tasted like fish. This location needs a lot more customer training.
Update: the store has refunded the money so I have updated the rating. Thank you for doing the right thing. My husband and I ordered food through the online portal. When we arrived to pick it up, they had given our food to someone else. THEN THEY REFUSED TO REFUND OR REPLACE THE FOOD! The order was $76!! Awful service. I’m holding out hope that the owner will make this right, but such a bad way to celebrate Mothers Day! Shame on you.
The chicken was abysmal, half of it looked nearly raw and the other half was extremely dry. The Mac & cheese was… not mac & cheese, I can’t believe I paid $30 for this. You might as well go to Walmart and buy a bucket of fried chicken and you’d get better quality. You can definitely tell that the chicken just sits out all day. The place looks poorly maintained. On the bright side, we had the whole place to ourselves but I can see why. The final deal breaker… the ice cream machine was out.

Either the wrong type of sweet tea, wrong number of tenders, or even today I ordered the 9pc thighs and legs with the mashed potatoes and they didn’t add in the mashed potatoes for me. (Ultimately charging me for an item I never got) Also, service takes quite a while. Will be avoiding this particular Golden Chick.
Extremely slow service. Waited 23 mins in drive through for a dozen chicken tenders and 4 rolls.
Waited in line 10 min on a Monday and ordered Spicy Chicken Strips. Manager had taken my order but said it would 12 more minutes before any were ready. This was 6 pm. No way I was going to wait almost 25 minutes for small of Strips. I left.
My order was incomplete. I ordered 2 separate meals and they combined all the tenders together. Left out sauces altogether. Ordering was a little confusing. I was initially told there were items they couldn't sell. I overheard 2 cars behind me trying to place order and told they couldn't. Both drivers sped away and apparent anger.

Had to repeat order at drive thru 3 times they asked if I wanted my sides yes then they did not give me ware to eat my mashed potatoes and napk8ns I had to drive back through very incompetent and lazy
The service was terrible! The girl put very little ice in my drink and it wasn’t sweet so I asked for another and she slammed the old drinks in the trash. Her attitude stunk!!! The wicked wings tasted like the chicken spoiled a little!! Bad attitude and terrible service!
Chicken was not cooked fresh. Looks like I got the cold and rubbery pieces.The crust was so old it had pulled away from the chicken and the chicken was so dry. I'd like to give you a second chance and have you replace this order.

Lady in the drive through was nice. But there was a sludge running near the menu lane. Then I get home and my 3 piece was disgusting: overcooked, stale and shriveled, it went straight into the garbage and I had a turkey sandwich. This seems like the type of place on “bar rescue”. Does the owner even go check to see what kind of food is being put out of his/her restaurant?!
Went there for just rolls went to the drive thru and they said they were only taking online orders im like ok thats fine so I pull over and make an online order and when its time I go through the drive thru there's one car in front of me and I hear them tell them there out of rolls so I'm thinking wow I ordered the last of the rolls I pull up when it's my turn tell them my name and they have me pull up when I got to the window they confirmed my name and handed me a box it only had 2 rolls and the rest was chicken they could of told me they were out and not just acted like that was what I ordered cause they knew they were out. That's just plain lazy.
Some girl turned me away because I said they didn't have anything after she clearly said, "we don't have mac and cheese, we don't have tenders, we only have roasted chicken" like come on now. For no reason at all. She must have had a rough day to be so uptight. I will be calling better business bu. ✌️
The person who took or order was very abrupt and constantly interrupting. We were not given choices for gravy or a sauce so when I asked for a sauce they told me no I'd have to play extra. We ordered three four finger meals and a junior meal. Only three of them came with french fries even though we asked for all of them and one came without a roll. Again all should have come with one. And the French fries were so cold we couldn't eat then anyway. There are three Golden Chicks in our area, this one is the closest though, and I will never go to this one again.
Placed an online order and when I arrived to pick up they said they had already sent the order with someone else. I expected them to remake the order since they had obviously messed up. They made me wait 20 minutes to come back and tell me that they would not remake the order because it had been sent already and they would not issue me a refund for the order there, but that I had to request a refund from where I ordered it which was golden chick’s website. Horrible service, horrible staff. Never once said they were sorry or admitted they screwed up.
Staffs are a bunch of liars. When I place my orders at 5:43, at 6:04 they said 20 minutes wait. When I asked for my orders they said 5 more minutes. 5 minutes later the manager came out and said 4 more minutes. By the time he done reasoning with me why they couldn't filled my orders it was 40 minutes passed and his reasoned was that he had to filled a drive thru order that waited 20 plus minutes at the drive thru. Which was a complete lie. I don't mind the wait but I do not being taken advantage of and lied to my face.
I came in with my boyfriend during a very slow period. The manager rang us up at the register, and it was very clear he did not want to be there, with no customer service skills. When they brought my food out, they gave me spicy instead of original. I politely brought it to the counter to switch it out and they were very rude about it. The manager also accused me of trying to get an extra roll because there were rolls on my boyfriends plate, when he had ordered too extra. I wish this was still a chicken express. The management was much nicer.
This place used to be a chicken Express. The service now that it is a Golden Chick has plummeted. I had repeated my order 3 times from scratch. I don’t know if they were having technical issues or what. When I got to the window I repeated it again. After getting my meal I got the smallest thigh I have ever seen. It wasn’t big enough to be a chicken… maybe a sparrow. Sides have been ok. Lastly the person on the speaker kept calling me “Sir”. Even after coming to the window. Check your gendered honorifics at the door dude! I’m no “Sir”
I have went to this restaurant over 5 times in the last two weeks and EACH time they are out of the Golden roast chicken in white meat. Why offer a product if you literally never have it cooked or willing to cook it ? I waited in line 20 minutes Saturday ordered and waited another 10 to get to the window only for them to tell me at the window they are in fact out of what I ordered at the window and offered nothing but fried chicken as an option . I come for the roasted and it’s never available. Do better. They could have atleast offered me some form of coupon or something doe my return cost but it looks like they won’t be getting a return visit if they won’t offer something I actually eat. All of your customers do not eat fried food or legs or things, please accomadate those of us who don’t who are TRYING to spend our money with you.
Asked for a few sauces with chicken meal and got charged for 40 cent for each sauce, dang. Not trying be a cheap person but charging for small sauce that much is a lot, rather take my business somewhere else.
Don’t recommend at all there absolutely no one in front of us or behind us and had to wait the drive thru person to take our order. When she finally did she rushed us and wasn’t even able to complete our order. Even when we kept saying we weren’t done with ordering . So we pulled up to the window she NEVER CAME or turned around, even though she was standing at the window!! What the hell!? We drove off and went to the golden chick in Wylie. Definitely recommend this one over the place
Ordered a 10 pc roasted chicken only through the drive thru. Was told it would be a 10 minute wait and to pull to the side. Knocking on 30 minutes later I drive back around because at this point I just want my money back. The girl tried to walk it out then when they already saw me at the window. She comes to the window to bring it to me and I hand her my receipt and asked for my money back because its been 30 minutes. She proceeded to say "I told you it was going to be a wait" -no ma'am not no damn 30 minutes. She didn't take the receipt but asked for my card. I gave it to her then she asked for the receipt. SMH I'm not sure who this crew is but all I know is it wasn't busy at all and I've never heard of chicken taken 30 minutes!
I've had great experiences with the Murphy location, but this one just keeps falling short, and I can no longer give it a pass. I've previously had wings and fish burnt to a crisp. Today, I left to spend my money at ChickfilA because the girl working the drive through had such a poor attitude. I'll gladly feed my family of 6 food delivered with a smile and JOY. Even my 3 year old said she was rude. Just goes to show how the wrong employees can kill a business...and the right ones can grow it.
Stood there for 20 minutes before anyone came to ask for my order which was a mobile order and all ready set. They made eye contact but did not talk to me when I was the only one in the store. They didn't even give me my full order so I had to ask again and they didn't include the sauces I asked for during the order. Not coming back to this place which has terrible customer service. Garbage punk rude employees. I was told to download app to cancel web order!! Rude employee, he hung up on me when I tried to cancel order, he told me I had to download the ap in order to cancel!!! 2 days later, I see a charge for food I never got, called store again, spoke with supposed manager, she hung up on me also. Do NOT go to or order from this location!!!
All I ordered was large sweet tea and 4 rolls. No large cups and rolls were hard hard . With 5 golden chick's within 5 minutes of each other I will definitely not stop at this one again.

Placed an order online for 2 combos when my son got home with our order it was missing both fries. I called the store spoke to Lynette the manager she didn’t care she actually got upset with me like if it was my fault they missed up our fries. She offered to come get our missing fries, but I had told her we didn’t have a car due to my son had taken it to work. She responded so what do you want me to do? Our sandwiches were super dry no sauce. Poor management.
If I could give zero star I would. Ordered drive through. And we waited 40 minutes for a few pairs of chicken wing!!! I still don’t understand how a fast food store would take that long to have our order ready. The worst part is they have no apologies! The store manager don’t care. Horrible customer service. If you’re going to hire people who only know Spanish put them to do things they can ACTUALLY do. They are incompetent in the drive thru. Even me knowing Spanish it was hard for her to understand what I was saying. She didn’t even know what a damn bread roll was… and she kept having to repeat my order for no reason.
I am blown away at the (complete lack of) customer service at this location since the new manager took over (I knew the old manager/GM from years of dealing with them). I called to inquire about an item. Due to supply chain issues (understandably) they didn’t have it. I inquired about another item and was told it was no problem (dark meat fried chicken). 10 minutes later, I order at the drive thru and am told it would be 10-14 minutes….no problem. 25+ minutes in the “you wait in spot 1” waiting area, I called and asked where my order was. This new manager says “it will be another 30 seconds, they are boxing it”. I said “I was told 10-14 minutes, it has been a lot more than that. Are you going to offer something extra?” This guy says “No, you were told there would be a wait.” Unreal. I miss the old manager (John) and the original Chicken Express. I will drive farther next time not to deal with this level of incompetence. Good customer service is completely lacking here and can always make up for mediocre food. Sad. Update - I sent in my email as they requested below and NEVER heard from them. So don't believe their fake customer service reply.
Max!! I went through drive-through to purchase some food and Max. The manager was there. I had mentioned to him that I should've been in a book because my okra was left behind before he went to go look at a book and said he didn't see it in the book, but the entire time I felt that he was a little bit an ease, or as if I was not telling the truth, I'd give him the name of one of the other team members that was there so that he could search you asked me to write my name and number on a piece of paper and that he would pass it along to the other team member which she did give me my okra, but I ordered almost $43 worth of food and got halfway home and realized that he didn't give me my mashed potatoes and gravy I went back to the store where I tried to hand him back all the bag so he can check himself so he can see that the potatoes and gravy were not in there. He was very rude and disrespectful and then when he went to get the food. I noticed that he was saying something in foul language, but I couldn't hear him . Just his gestures ,so then when he went to get the food, he handed me the potatoes and gravy, and then he slammed the window very hard through the drive-through, which made me an easy so I blew my horn and I asked what his name was and he said that his name is Max are you the manager the district manager? What are you? He said just a manager so I want it to be known that if we're getting this type of customer service for the amount of money that we pay something should be done. I don't feel that we should be treated this way. I felt that it was more racist . Than anything I felt because of the color of my skin as to why he decided to treat me as such. I've been to this location before and they were not changing gloves while changing trash, and use the same gloves to change the trash to cook the food. I didn't make a report and those workers are not there anymore but still this treatment in the way they handle things should not be a such. I'm very disappointed in this location and I need this to be taking care of! If he or certain staff can't deal with various cultures then they should not be working in this industry! And to add injury to the insult, I even asked if he could make the food fresh because I had a little ways to go when I arrived at home the food was not fresh and majority of the food was not even in part for me to eat. This is very sad. I was just at the point to where I left it alone but I'm posting this review for others to know this is not something that anyone should have to endure especially when you're being disrespected it doesn't matter if you pay one dollar or $43 customer service is customer service. We literally purchase food out for good customer service in the convenience not to be disrespected. Please talk to Max and help him understand that all people are just people please don't see color !
Now I see why they at 3.7 review score. Fries literally burnt and so is the chicken. Food had a funny odor to it. Employees there now are so bitter and with an attitude. Never coming back here again.As I continued to finish the food i purchased, wow!! The food was over powering with that nasty taste and odor.
Corn nuggets tasted like warm plastic. Gravy everywhere in the bag because they can't be bothered to use the great packaging they used to have. Waited a year to give them another chance and it's worse than when they would mess up the order. Gravy is just watery too.
I live close so Ive stopped by a couple times, even after having a horrible experience first two times. I told manager both meals I ordered were cold and wanted to see if they could do anything, he responded with “our food is always fresh and never cold” lol…. He wanted to give me one free meal lol, just don’t understand the logic. I stopped by today and asked for fresh food to get the same cold service as always. Also I got a nice blue piece of whatever in the food. Don’t go here unless your actually starving.
Having seen the commercials for their chicken sandwiches, I thought I would give them a try. Big Mistake, what I received was horrendous. The first few bites seemed ok, but then I hit what seemed like a shoe sole or hard leather. I opened up the sandwich and the crust just came off and you can see how dried out the chicken is from the picture. It wasn’t edible. Probably was cooked long ago and I was the lucky customer to get it. Having taken it home to eat, not worth the time to go back. Not going to try Golden Chick again, no quality control. Buyer beware and note all the one stars at this location, I wish I had before going there.
The wait time for the drive-thru is horrible! I bought a kids meal at 08:01 pm and was told to pull up and wait for my order. They said they would bring it out. There were no other cars behind me. I waited until I saw another car pull up, and get their order and leave. I then pulled back and asked for a refund at 08:19. It was ridiculous to wait this long for JUST a kids meal, and for me to not even get it! They could have at least apologized which they didn't. This is the worst place ever, and no wonder they rarely have customers here. I'd rather drive further up now for better quality and customer care.
First time visit, and first time in Texas, just here for 1 day to rest during a long road trip. This.. is just so darn unsanitary, it's literally an insect smashed inside the sandwich. i wish I could get a refund but i didnt get the receipt.. Am I super unlucky or is this place actually not good? lol.

This was the worst experience I’ve had at a Golden Chick. I went through the drive thru for dinner at 5pm on a weeknight, so I assumed the food would be fresh…. I was wrong. The fried okra tasted like it was all stems that had been fried and was super dried out, the roll seemed liked it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day and was dry, the “spicy” chicken had been barley dusted with seasoning. The woman in the window was rude. When I asked her if I could get an additional ranch dressing dip, she told me how much it would cost and then shut the window and walked away, apparently assuming I didn’t want it, since she didn’t return. I will absolutely never return to this location. Total waste of money.

But I ordered from the menu, and only 2 people were working but they seemed to not really want to make chicken. Walked in and they were slow moving and pur orders were simple. Why are there only 2 people working? Where are the grown ups that work there? We left!!!
I never leave bad Reviews. This time I have no choice. We ordered 4 meals, spicy tenders, they gave us Regular Tenders, Bread was hard, food was cold, We also ordered Roasted Chicken we requested no wings (they gave us a wing) Chicken was burnt, seems like is had been sitting there for hours it was black and hard. Worst service & food I’ve ever experienced. It seems like no one knew what they were doing. Also No straws, forks, napkins etc.. We will never go there again anytime soon.. This is my nicest translation.

We ordered spicy tenders but got regular ones instead. When we called to let them know, the lady who answered was very rude. Horrible customer service — I’ll be taking my business elsewhere next time.

CALLED UP THERE TO ASK THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND THE LADY UP THERE BASICALLY TOLD ME TO BRING THE FOOD BACK... I HAVE TO GO OUT OF MY WAY AGAIN TO BRING IT UP THERE WHEN YOU COULDNT GET THE ODER STRAIGHT AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME..... WAIT TILL SEND THE RECODED CALL TO COORPERATE TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY! YOU OPENED A BOOK YOU SHOULDNT HAVE!!!!!
Come here a lot. Service and quality has only dropped off. Tonight I had to wait 15 minutes to get my food. I can only imagine it was so they could over cook all the food. Paid extra for 2 of the lotta zang sauce, and if i would have recieved them, it would have helped choke this dry chicken down. The biggest mistake is when golden chicken bought this from chicken express. It was so much better! Wylie is so much better!

Slowest place I've ever been! It was my first and last visit. We waited about 15 minutes before I went in and got our money back.
