As a down-to-earth gay bar in the heart of Sacramento, we offer a warm atmosphere where you can unwind with friends and loved ones over handcrafted cocktails, draft brews, and delicious eats. Our patio is the perfect spot to soak up the California sunshine while enjoying live music or events. One of our favorite things about The Depot is our commitment to serving up tasty comfort food, like our famous mac 'n cheese. Come taste the difference for yourself – we can't wait to share a drink (or two) with you!

The bartenders are very experienced and I genuinely had the best spicy bloody mary of my life last night. Whichever bartender made that is phenomenal and they had the best customer service. I genuinely will come back just because of that experience yesterday
The bartender pours with a heavy hand and the atmosphere is chill, everybody's welcome. Gotta love a place that plays music videos all throughout the night. The bartender was awesome we had a drink he never heard of and he was willing to make it for us, that's customer service. Highly recommend for anyone visiting SC, this is what a bar is supposed to be.
Great happy hour prices and a nice spot to chill with friendly people and great bartenders. They have a couple pool tables and an outdoor enclosed patio with heaters. It's a great location and a place to relax without worrying about having a place to sit.
A friendly local spot to chill out and have a nice drink. Patio in the back for extra room, has tvs with music videos on. RuPaul Drag Race airs on those nights. Wednesday is Trivia Night where you can win prizes with your team. Monday has free pool (they have 2 tables). Generally open by 3pm and generous happy hour pricing from 4 or 5pm until 7 or 8pm. Check it out, one of my favorite in Sac.

The Depot is a friendly and welcoming neighbor gay bar. The drinks are good and the service was attentive. We were there after a Sunday Brunch so it was nice and mellow the way I like it. This is a cash only bar so make sure you hit the ATM on your way there. There is street parking and some nearby pay for use lots.
Pretty cool spot. They have pool and guys coming around selling jello shots. Patio is for smoking. Large open windows inside circulates the air so it's not stuffy. Bathrooms on the other hand were stuffy.
Awesome bar! Super friendly bartender and great all day happy hour on Mondays. Good ambiance, great decor, good prices for the area. Definitely plan to come back.

My girlfriend and I are not from the area and we were looking for a place to have a couple drinks, sing karaoke and enjoy our night. This is not the place to spend your $ I got kicked out by the upstairs bartender without her getting any facts. Some dude disrespected my girlfriend in-front of the cultish community and I stood my ground respectfully. As I’m getting back to where we met a nice couple, the bartender rushed out and threatened to call the cops (not sure if it’s bc im hispanic) but she did not go up to the other guy, who was actually disrespectful. A poor judgement on the bartender, she should not be assuming anything. Would have been better if she called the cops as we did absolutely nothing. AVOID this place it’s full of negativity. SHOULD BE CHECKED OUT BY THE COUNTY. Really bad for the community.
The worst, most racist, discriminating bar I’ve EVER experienced. Every single one of the employees we encountered were complete clowns. These types of businesses should not be operating by any means. DO NOT SUPPORT this business, you will be disappointed. At the end of the day, I’m glad I didn’t spend my money here!

Is it really a gay bar if it's full of straight people? Just a straight bar with a rainbow flag outside. It's about as authentically "gay" as a tiki bar is authentically Polynesian. I shouldn't see several gangs of 5-10 frat guys rolling up, picking up chicks. That's when you know you no longer have a gay bar, it's just a bar that is themed "gay"
Every single time we try to come here there is an issue: they kick people out @ 12:30 and are completely closed by 1:30. Even gettin IN before closing is a struggle as the security spend a lot of time searching your bags/person like you’re strapped. Seems invasive like they enjoy it. WOULDNT LET US IN WITH A VAPE. & cigarettes. 🥱 Every single time we’ve come here it’s a competition to get in weather or not the bar is closing: worst case scenario go here. Worst experience for a gay bar I’ve ever had & were from MODESTO!!!
I have never been kicked out of a bar until today, me and my friend were getting our day started at 5pm. Pulled up to the depot, we order an adios and the bartender (Diane or Diana) starts telling me that she knows when someone is drunk because they order that drink, and she starts arguing with me about my ability to handle the drink at first I thought she was playing with me but she was serious. I asked her if she was serious and she said she was which I was so confused because i had just arrived. I told her that i had been drinking those since i was 21 and she said she knew i was drunk as an adios to her meant like kicked out. I said i was not drunk and i was just getting my day started and maybe i should get another bar tender, which she replied with you can leave , so she asked the security guard to take us out. I looked at the security guard to let him know that we literary just order a drink and we are not drunk. So we are asked to leave. Anyways to anyone reading this review come to the merc they are way nicer and won’t turn you away from ordering a certain drink. This whole experience was wild I love the depot and I have never seen these person bartender before. losing business over someone who has an issue with the type of drink I order is crazy.
As soon as we stepped inside it was very dark so we didn’t see the person at the door. So that person had a bad attitude and did not greet us whatsoever. They were white…not sure what they identified as but they had piercings with a short buzz cut. Like this isn’t even luxury to be acting like that. Very bad for business.
Night manager is horrible, as a manager downtown who comes in with other managers/bartenders trying to have good time but he consistently blocks us off at the door saying their not accepting new patrons on a Friday night, at 12:42pm. At this point we're sure it's personal. It's degrading to the business and hope it changes soon
Literally the worst experience of my life. Some friends and I got buzzed last night and we went into the same stall because we’re women and two of us were on our period. Male Securities LOOKED UNDERNEATH THE STALL and tried to force us out in the middle of me peeing. After my roommate kept saying we would get out after I was done using the restroom and to please stop looking under, they continued arguing and got in her face. We’re barely 21, they were older and taller and laughing in our face. They disrespected her by cursing at her and calling her names when all she was trying to do was explain why we were in the same stall. They hadn’t wanted to let us grab the rest of our friends and kicked us out.
Um, ive been out for 24 years, never kicked out of a bar before. I've been a bartender, a go-go dancer decades ago, guess things have gottenso sanitezed you can't even be buzzed. I used to kick people out for narcotics- thanks weird straight boys that made me stand in the rain for 30 minutes to get a lyft. Gentrification strikes again- another dead space.
Posted this same review on yelp to make more people aware..... Went to the Depot Saturday night with two of my friends...everything went horrible very quickly.. The guy checking our ID greeted us and was really nice. Then we waited in line to get checked by security. The security lady check my purse first and gave us a story about how someone pulled a knife on a staff member and that they were implementing a new search policy. She asked for consent to pat us and I said yes. Not thinking anything of it. She patted me first but only did the chest area, which I felt was very inappropriate. We all felt very violated. Even the girl behind us yelled wooooh that's to much! WE WERE ALL IN SHOCK. We walked inside and came right back out. The guy that checked our ID was right behind us and even appoligized, saying "that was to much". We were still in shocked, trying to figure out what just happened to us. We went back after a few minutes to speak to a manager. On our way back, we watched how they were patting down the women at the bar next door because it was the same security company, MIB, but it was nothing similar to what we got as a pat down. We went back and we watched the depot let people in with no searches or pat downs, so we asked security for a manager. We spoke to the manager because we wanted him to be aware of what was happening, and we didn't want it happening to other people, but it was clear he didn't care to hear what we had to say. We also asked about where they got training from, and he responded with an attitude, Sacramento shireff department. He also stated that they will be having another training next month. I didn't want to continue the conversation with him beacuse the way he was responding was rude and obvious that he didn't care, so we said thank you and walked off.
Worst experience of my life. I went in ordered drinks with two of my girl friends we get them and then as I proceed to pay with my card I am then informed that it is cash only. There was not a single sign anywhere that stated as such or we wouldn't have any ordered anything becasue we don't carry cash. Then a guy was sitting next to us chatting up one of my friends while another friend went to go get cash to pay for our drinks the bartender then proceeds to tell us how much it would be but it sounded really high for what we all got come to find out the bartender had added the guy next to us drinks with our tab without making sure if he was with us or not. Then once we proceed to inform her that we didn't know that man and that we were not paying for his drink she tell us "it's okay I got you" and then proceeds to still not give me the correct change back. I would not step foot in this place if you want decent service and someone that doesn't just assume all black people know each other becasue that is far from the truth.
