Five stars for being a locals dive bar on the ocean every day when there's not bingo. No stars for bingo day (Saturday). Bingo is not fun nor funny. Bingo is a game without strategy. Bingo sucks. But the riptide mostly rules.

If White Cap is a little too posh for you, head across the street to the Rip Tide for classic beach dive bar vibes. Excellent atmosphere, live music on Sunday nights and stumbling distance from beautiful sunsets on the beach! Pretty average prices for the city, and it features a nice parklet to sit in— bring a coat! I don't think they're doing any indoor seating these days.

Glad to see it rebuilt after the fire! A cozy spot by the beach with helpful friendly staff. It has live music sometimes . The U shaped layout of the bar creates a narrow bottle neck path from one side to the bathroom on the other. Moving around is hard when crowded but that's true in most bars. Pizza is next door And there is pizza next door. Parking on the side streets wasn't a problem getting to this SF landmark. Go have beer !

Love this spot!!! Riptide has a small town bar feel & the bartenders and other staff are awesome. Bingo on Saturdays is super fun & if you get a chance to catch The Honky Tonk burlesque show I highly recommend it!!! Drinks are cheap for SF prices too!

Karaoke Tuesdays!!!! There is so much happening here at The Riptide! They have lots of live music, parties and other fun events here all week long! I'm super excited about Karaoke! I love singing for a bunch of drunk people. Not only do I look better when you're drunk, but I sound exactly the same when I sing. The bartenders here are all really nice and they are quick to get you a drink. It is cash only like so many other places, but they have an ATM machine inside and there is another one at the liquor store nearby. It is a dive bar but it's fun and clean...well as clean as a dive bar can get.

Ecv clampers had a special event. Bartenders were extremely good & friendly. Got a pizza from "!Brother's " which was one of the best pizzas I've ever had.Check them both out!

Amazing outersunset bar, pleasant crew, decent poor for the price. Local live music. All hardwood interior, has almost a cosy cabin like feel. Defines the quite culture of the San Francisco beach community. A would recommend for any local, and a relaxing evening for any tourist.

Come spend some quality time and this OUTSTANDING dive bar at the end of the western world. The staff and patrons are friendly, the drinks and stiff and the dogs are welcome. I haven't been here in years but am so glad they've recovered from the fire. Their fireplace is still wonderful and of course one must get their t-shirt showing how you've been " on the edge of western civilization.," I have plans to visit again real soon :)

cash only. check the calendar for nightly activities and performances. they recently celebrated their 14th anniversary, after being closed for a few months rebuilding after a fire damaged several business and residential units. while I miss the gnarled Cypress tables, the new interior is crisp and clean. come help as some character to this locals' favorite.

If you every find yourself way the heck out in the outer sunset, like i mean, 3 blocks from the ocean, look this place up. Every night they have some sort of happy hour munchies out for people to eat. It's either make your own nachos, or DIY grilled cheese or hot dogs. It's pretty awesome. Think of the inside of an Elk lodge and you have the interior decor of Riptide. They show sporting events on the big screen, A's, Giant's who ever is playing that night. I go there after work sometimes with coworkers and it's such a cool neighborhood bar.

Took my hubby here for his 29th bday. He LOVED it. Both our 1st time here with a friend. Great venue STILL after the fire. Have yet to do karaoke or attend burlesque here. We cannot wait to return!

It happened to be open mic night, and the audience was enthusiastic and engaged. I to met one of the owners and the bar manager, who were very friendly and hospitable. Overall, this place is a great neighborhood bar, with an equally great staff and customer base

Cute bar. Not the crowd I'm used to in sf, but it wasnt a bad thing. I think it would be fun to take a small group out if you still want to be able to talk but also you can go dance if you choose. Also note they are cash only. There is an ATM but prepare for atm fees!

This is a hidden spot on taravel. it's great place to go for a few quick ones to start off your night. People were friendly there was a doorman which is a good thing in my opinion. Toilets were so so. Music was good and loud and there was a good DJ spinning with plenty of peeps up boogying. I'd go back in a flash 😎

A huge bonus: you can also bring food in from outside (check out Brother's Pizza right next door!). ​Parking was surprisingly easy to find on the street nearby.

too crowded- the venue feels intimate- but the noise level actually requires yelling to carry on a conversation with the person right next to you.

The Riptide is a good local bar for a not-so-fancy drink. I tend to stick to beer here as the mixed drinks aren't anything to write home about. They have some great live music and the bar does get pretty hoppin' on those nights. Get there early to snag a table.

As a dive bar, the RIP tide is fun. But dont go there on Tuesday karaoke night. The KJ starts out fair, but one she gets drunk and her friends come in, you won't get a song in. And they are all tone def knuckleheads that scream into the microphone. The kj will announce who is next, and continually skip that person in favor of her friends. Pathetic management that is aware and allows this to happen.

Bad customer experience. Walked in with my bro and no one attended us for at least 15 minutes. Go to the bar across the street, it's way better and friendlier.

Lord it's aweful. Measure my review knowing I'm in from out of town. I'm positive Tuesday night karaoke is much better than what I saw (no one ainging). However the biggest problem was Tara who is clearly popular with locals...but not new faces. She cleared my drink when she came on shift and I didn't see her again untill I begged for water over a half hour later..mshe had poured at least 2 dozen drinks in between btw. Place is very nice though-clean bathrooms and a bar top/ambianve that speaks touch nicer things than a dive. However due to poor service I had to walk back across the street to riptide. Significantly better service, and premium cocktails-even if at a higher, more worthwhile prive. Visitors beware
