Was Kunden über Wine Down sagen
Wine Down is a gem praised for its delicious sandwiches, salads, and generous portions. Customers rave about the fresh ingredients, friendly owner (Chef Michael), and the cozy, French-inspired atmosphere. A minor complaint is occasionally too much dressing on the Salade Niçoise.

Incredible little spot for lunch. The owner is caring and attentive, the food is amazing, the portions are big!! Highly rated for a reason
A bite of Paris in the heart of Downtown SF. Breads are fresh, meats are plenty, and the love in the preparation of the food is felt at each table. The menu was as joy to browse over to see what I will come back to get next. Thank you Chef Michael for the wonderful meal!
During my trip to San Fran for a developer conference, I got recommended this restaurant by a friend. Though initially doubtful, I decided to give it a go. This place was by far the culinary highlight of my entire trip. I would *highly* recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for a filling, delicious lunch. This is the kind of place that you go out of your way to make a visit to.
Cafe du Soleil is an amazing little café. The food is outstanding and the smoothies should not be ignored. If you are near the Moscone in San Fran and need a bite.. you should make a point to seek out Cafe du Soleil.
If you are looking for lunch the proper French way, this place is it - cozy cafe with a small menu, everything cooked to order and served by the chef, and dining without looking at your watch. Had the Tarragon Chicken Sandwich as recommended by the chef and was blow away. The bread was just too good. Not a place for a quick meal if you come in during lunch rush, but we'll worth the wait.
Bright Shiny sandwich place to look forward to between tall buildings. The owner is very welcoming and the food is wonderful. Fresh ingredients put together on a warm crunch bread. I can't wait to go back!
Would rate more than 5 stars if possible. Stopped at this unassuming place for a quick brunch and were blown away by the staff's friendliness and care in preparation of our brunch. Food was phenomenal, bread was superb, avocados were perfect, fruit salad was delicious, and mango smoothie was exacting in fruit and spinach ratio. When asked for salt and pepper with our to-go order the staff hand ground some black pepper and pink sea salt into tiny takeout containers for us! Perfect!
This place is absolutely amazing. So cute and comforting, food is all so good. Big portions for a great price. We had a big group and tried the chicken tarragon sandwich, the Caesar salad, and the poki bowl. I highly recommend all of it! We’ll be back :)
Had a brunch there today. A friendly owner and delicious food! Fresh ingredients, sweet watermelon, and the combination of baguette, salmon, cream cheese, and onion was tasty! I like the ambience, eventhough it was small, I still felt comfortable and relax while munching my food.
I must say my pictures don’t do justice to this place. I am a petit person of 5’2 but this place def serves big portions. The owner is such an amazing pop with culinary career in France and Italy, so the sandwiches are the European ciabatta sandwich which I haven’t seen much in SF. I got the Brie prosciutto sandwich and my friend got the mango salad—first day of serving the salad according to the owner. The portion is HUGE with chicken tossed in herb/aioli(?) sauce, super flavorful. I am def coming back to try the rest of the menu. The food does take a bit of time to come out since it’s run by two lovely people but its def worth the wait.
Very unassuming place but impressed a diner like me. This place is underrated in my opinion. Owner is warm and friendly from France. Popped by while waiting for my car rental nearby. I ordered Mushroom sandwich (add chicken) which I thought was perfect. One of the best breakfast around the corner. Latte was no ordinary latte, very good!
So many vegetarian options and the food is incredible!
Reminds me of a sandwich shop you'd find in France. Very good quality meats and cheeses on both visits. Highly recommend.
A gem in an unexpected corner of the city. You can't go wrong, every item is delicious. I order ahead of time and take a walk from my office to pick it up for a welcome respite from fluorescent lights.
Just incredible! I was the only one present and walked right in and ordered the Turkey Avocado, OJ, and an Espresso so I could do some work. Everything was made to perfection. Bravo!

Great little place. The owner suggested a menu item that was delicious. Pastrami with an apple butter(at least I think that’s what it was). So good.

This is one of the best cafes for lunch I’ve ever been too. Everything was super fresh and made to order. The gentlemen running the place is incredibly nice as well. Highly recommend
My friends live across the street and suggested we meet here for lunch today. Absolutely magnificent little spot. I had the salad Niçoise and my husband had a soup and sandwich. Such huge and high quality portions. Although I live on the West side of the city, I would 💯 come this way for lunch again anytime. And street parking was easy across the street! 10 out of 10!
Fantastic meal and experience. I ordered takeout for three people around lunch. Two salad/sandwich combos and a full sandwich. Servings were SO generous, the ingredients were very flavorful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I would definitely order from here again.

This is a great spot for a cozy lunch with fantastic food. Their salads are fantastic as well as everything else on their menu. I suggest the prosciutto and brie cheese sandwich.
Large portions, fresh food. We enjoyed the Soup of the Day which was a mushroom bisque, the Salade Niçoise with smoked salmon, and the Omelette Paris (omelette with mushrooms and ham). My only small complaint is that there was a bit too much dressing on the Salade Niçoise. I liked the fact that we could order a large bottle of Pellegrino for the table. The service was fine. I thought the atmosphere could have been nicer. The table that we sat at was sticky, and the restaurant was a bit cold since they left the door open.

I was really perplexed when I received the food. I didn't say "to go," and I mentioned that I would be eating here, but they served the food in disposable containers. I asked the owner again if they might have misunderstood "to go" and given me the food in disposable containers by mistake, but he said that this is how it is done in this country. This country's way? I've been to San Francisco many times and visited other restaurants, but this has never happened before. I can only think it's racist. I'm very disappointed and shocked with the service.
