CAMARONES A LA DIABLA was delicious! Every dish that I saw come out of the kitchen I wanted to try or take a photo of it. Their service was superb 👌🏾 and the beverages are something to taste for sure. Roberto is amazing.
Casa Martin in Santa Monica hits that sweet spot where the food feels homemade and the vibe feels like a warm welcome. The moment you sit down, the staff treats you like they are genuinely glad you came in. Service stays quick, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. The menu is familiar in the best way. The guacamole tastes fresh, the tortillas come warm, and the salsas have real flavor instead of heat for heat’s sake. The enchiladas are tender, the fajitas arrive sizzling, and the margaritas land with the perfect balance of citrus and bite. Portions are generous, and everything tastes like it was made with care. The space has an easy energy. Lively enough to feel fun, calm enough that you can actually enjoy your meal. It works for a casual dinner, a laid back date night, or a group that wants good food without a fuss. If you want authentic Mexican comfort in the heart of Santa Monica, Casa Martin delivers every time.
Casa Martin in Santa Monica is a hidden gem that delivers amazing food, great prices, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Their cold beers are perfectly refreshing, especially on a sunny day by the beach. The homemade guacamole is a must-try—fresh, flavorful, and the perfect balance of creamy and zesty. What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. The owner is incredibly kind and attentive, making sure every guest feels right at home. If you’re looking for delicious food, great drinks, and a friendly vibe, Casa Martin is the place to be!
My wife and I were visiting from the Central Valley and we chose this fine dining establishment. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious, well prepared, presented and an overall pleasant dining experience. Great menu. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fantastic Mexican cuisine.🙏🙏👍
Clean and convenient place to get high taste Mexican food at a reasonable price in Santa Monica. Mari took exceptional care of us and even treated us to their homemade flan which was delicious. We shared a platter of their chicken and beef fajitas and the taste was awesome. Highly recommended.
This was an excellent Mexican Food restaurant. I loved everything from the service to the delicious food. We tried the nachos with chicken. They were tasty and the chicken was tender and savory. The guacamole was good as well. We had beef enchiladas. They weren't our favorite because the meat was shredded beef instead of ground beef. They prices were pretty high. Overall the service was excellent and the food was great.
Are you kidding me? This place is hands down the best Jalisco style food in the state. The drinks, the food, the service and the vibe. The brothers know how to deliver and present great food. We had the queso fundido, suprema and pineapple margaritas to start, then had the Mar Cielo, Tiera Molcajeta for our main. Just wow on that dish, on point. For desert we had the flan and it didn't disappoint at all. Will be back when I lose the 10 lbs I gained. We ate the Promenade location amd they have tons of outdoor seating. No reservations unless you have a group of 5 or more. Mariachi band on the weekends from 5 to ?
When you want to taste of Santa Monica and your Mexican food and traditional drinks made as close to perfection as possible this is your destination! Whether you're a local or a tourist , on a date or out with the family /friends friends, this place will be just what the doctor ordered. Large amounts of positive energy run rampid throughout this location and seems to emerse itself into the food as well completing the experience in a great fashion. You might even run into a celebrity while you're there, but this is the type of place where everyone's family so no pretentious Hollywood types in this place. Only the kind they see themselves as regular people just like you who came to the right place to get a great meal!
I went at lunch time on a Friday. Food was good (Carnitas burrito). Enjoyable salad and guac came with it. Service was attentive. The music was a bit on the loud side but I enjoyed the 80's vibe. They must have just changed their menu today because the one that pulled up for me had the burrito $2 less than what they charged me. I discussed it with them and they insisted on the higher price. I'm not going to lose sleep over $2 but was a bit surprised they didn't honor the price on the menu that was clearly pulling up on my phone when scanning the QR menu code.
I was in SoCal for a business trip and decided to clear my head by taking a day trip to Santa Monica. As a huge foodie, I wanted to get a taste of the best therefore, I asked a few locals and world travelers for restaurant recommendations within the vicinity. Almost every person I asked suggested Casa Martin on Ocean Ave. First off, they don't take reservations. Not a big deal. You will have no troubles getting a table, as the restaurant was pretty vacant at prime dining hours (6:30pm). We got a table outside, adjacent to a heat lamp in the midst of November, so we were able to enjoy the views comfortably. The area was very posh and picturesque with color Christmas lights beaming. Additionally, it's only a 3 minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier. The atmosphere and ambiance were definitely the highlight of the night. The food, drinks and customer service, on the other hand, were questionable. First off, I already came in with high expectations, but even without expectations, I wouldn't be impressed. For starters, I ordered the watermelon/pineapple margarita on the rocks. I personally wasn't a fan, mainly because I prefer alcoholic beverages on the sugary side. The men I was dining with, however, went for seconds. I can tell you that they definitely don't cheat you on the liquor, but then again, they come with a hefty price. I recommend to go during happy hour for drinks to prevent putting a dent in your wallet. HH is from 3-6pm, with $4 off all house margs. Drinks aside, there was nothing my taste buds were buzzing about. For apps, we ordered the Queso Fundido that came with mixed Mexican Cheeses/Chorizo, with your choice of tortillas. OMG this was the hardest thing to eat, both literally and figuratively! The app came on a flat, hot plate to keep the cheese warm, but it was literally gooey and hard to scoop due to the viscosity. It only took 3 pairs of hands and 3 forks to scrap a bite of this cheese onto the tortilla. I almost lost a tooth trying to bite into this. For my main course, I ordered the highly recommended Cheese Enchiladas from the vegetarian menu however, I ended up getting Cheese Quesadillas. Everyone at my table heard my order right, except for the waitress. My coworkers were too considerate and waited for me to get my correct order until they dug in. By the time I got my Cheese Enchiladas, their food was cold. They came filled with mixed shredded cheeses, green sauce, and sour cream drizzle, with a side of black beans and white Mexican rice. One of the two enchiladas was left untouched, and I probably ate 1/3 of the other enchilada. I didn't even bother to take the leftovers home. The enchiladas are those compared to a fast food joint, such as Taco Bueno, but with a premium price tag of $22/plate. There goes my per diem! These were more Tex-Mex in taste as opposed to authentic. Mexican food is known for their spice, but the red sauce topped over the enchiladas was sweet. I, along with everyone else at my table, asked for hot sauce, which was made of habanero peppers. Everyone got their hot sauce but me! It's evident that the waitress had something against me - first by getting my order wrong, then by not bringing out my hot sauce. Overall, not a satisfied customer. I most certainly will not be making another trip to this restaurant ever again.
