Great server. Good food
First timers and I had no expectations once so ever. Been in Texas 6yrs and have never had decent Mexican food. Well until now. We both loved our meals and will for sure be back.
Always delicious. There was a wait, but our party was 9 people. So of course. And on homecoming weekend. So honestly that's not bad at all. Always highly recommend.
Love the food. Queso Blanco is good. Have always enjoyed it so far.
Great service and large portions. Delicious food.
Stopped in for lunch coming from camping on Lake Proctor… queso/salsa very good! Food and service was also great! Would eat here again!
Went in with friends for an early dinner. My first time at this location I had the ground beef enchiladas and they were very good. The location was not overly busy as it was early. The chimichangas were very good as was the steak Azteca. The server was very good, attentive, and prompt. The food was very very good. There is handicap accessibility with wheelchair parking. There is a bar with plenty of alcoholic beverages with Specials. Location appears to be very clean. Very good experience. I will return when in the area. The service, the great tasting food, and the noon time ambience remain very good. Great place to eat.
This place is a favorite of the family's. Nice restaurant with good food. The menus coming back was a good idea. Not going to lie I myself do not enjoy scanning a QR code. The price is medium for the style of restaurant. Food is never bad so far. I don't try a whole lot of new foods but what I eat there is delicious. Worth a try. Clean, fresh tasting food, drink variety is great. Never had a bad experience except that it's always busy. With good reason.
Starting out the chips were fresh and the salsa was just right. I ordered the combo fajitas and they were out within 10 minutes. They hot and had all the fixings. Good taste and the meat was tender. Great meal. Customer service was good.
Good local TexMex place, they have a couple of locations now
Great food and fast service, with good-sized portions. Salsa was excellent. Definitely a place to return to.
Really good food at reasonable prices. My wife and I went there for lunch on a Saturday and the place was very busy. It didn't keep us from being quickly seated though. Our orders were taken and food brought out fairly fast for as busy as they were. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We'll be going back again soon.
The best Mexican food. Great service. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Got there late and still received great service! Enchiladas were great and the beer was cold!
Our waiter,Manny, was very very helpful, and a fantastic waiter! So Very cordial.
Wonderful Tex Mex food experience in Stephenville! Food is fresh and hot! Margaritas and Mojitos are some of the best in North Texas!
Great food Amazing drinks Service a little slow n lost But overall great place
We passed through meeting up with some old friends. The wait for our food was somewhat long. But catching up with old friends eased the wait. We received our food before we had even got our drinks but the food was incredible. Their peach lemonade tasted great. They got pretty busy but we will definitely be coming back next time we come to Stephenville.
Initially, I was disappointed because I had called ahead to reserve a table for me and my family and when we arrived we were told that they don’t take reservations on days like today (i.e., Tarleton graduation) even though I told the receptionist the reservation was for my family post graduation. Nevertheless, when we arrived they were able to seat us immediately. The waitress was great. She got our order correctly, and the food was delicious! I had the shrimp salad. That was the best shrimp salad I’ve ever had. They gave beaucoup shrimp, and I liked that they weren’t fried. I wish they’d open a restaurant in DFW near me. The restaurant came as a recommendation from a classmate, and he was spot on. Delicious!
It was on a Sunday after church. It was very busy with a 25-minute wait. Service was a little slow, but the food was good. It could have been warmer, as my dish was a little on the cooler side like it had been sitting for a while. It still tasted good, and we will continue to eat here.
Service was wonderful and our server was very attentive. She gave great suggestions and made sure she got the details of our order correct. Atmosphere was good. The food was wonderful. Would definitely eat there again.
Ok , we did have to wait for a waitress for our drinks and after that everything was spot on! Every dish at our table was wonderful! I am picky and I expect home cooking and that’s what we got. The guacamole is the best I ever have had and I had them put everything in it. It’s made at your table Chile Rellenos were amazing and I finally went to a restaurant where it tasted better than mine. I highly recommend this dish. ! Swirl frozen margarita was exceptional. Go it is worth the little wait and prices are very reasonable and fair!! Get the Guacamole guys ; it’s a 10! Will be back for sure
Authentic Tex-Mex flavors. Big booths to sit in. Friendly staff. Great margaritas. It's sometimes crowded depending on the time of day. So far, from my experience, it's the best Mexican restaurant in Stephenville.
Really good food, got the enchiladas, staff was great and the place had the usual atmosphere you want at a restaurant such as this
We had take-out, so my observations may be lacking. We ordered Queso Loco, cheese and beef enchiladas. All was delicious.
We had the opportunity to do some work on their booths. And had to try some of their food before heading back to Ftw. The food was awesome and the service was top notch. We thank you for the business and the food. Thank you
I want to give a huge shout out to Manny, he’s probably the best waiter I’ve ever had, super nice and took care of me and my girlfriend… wish him the best
We rolled into Azteca a bit late on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised by the Absolute Best Mexican Food we have had Texas. There was so much quality food, that I lived on it for the next 2 days of our RV trip. Everything was delicious! Service was great! We will be back Azteca! Thank you!!
Pleasantly surprised here. They're salsa is nice and spicy. Chicken fajitas awesome. Beer is huge. We will be back.
My only complaint, I ate too fast and didn’t have leftovers. The food here is SO GOOD. I ordered the enchilada plate with chicken and the chicken was juicy, and seasoned. The meal was hot and beautifully prepared. My husband ordered the Steak Ranchero and that was probably one of the juiciest, perfectly rare steaks i’ve ever tried. We ordered our meal as takeout over the phone and even after our commute across town, the food was as if it was pulled straight off the grille. we will definitely be returning. the staff were also welcoming and the restaurant was very clean and well put together.
Amazing food, taste great! Great service, bring you anything you need. Love that they are always welcoming and friendly. Best of all, priced right!!!
My wife ate there once and stated the prices were too high. We tried it again. Prices were reasonable and we got enough food for another meal in leftovers. Fajitas were tasty but a cheaper cut of meat. Chicken and shrimp were awesome. Overall a good meal. Salsa was excellent as was the sweet tea. Two requirements slot a Mexican restaurant in Texas.
Our first visit. Been on my list of places to check out since we moved here a year ago. WOW! They nailed it!! Everything was spot on. The service, the food, and the service. It looked crowded but we were shown to a table right away. We ordered drinks (GREAT!) food (also GREAT!) and we had very good service. It was a Thursday for dinner so I don't know if this was typical but if it was, well done!!!
The chicken fajitas are amazing! The hotsauce hits the spot. The cheese enchiladas are not good at all. The service is always slow. We always have to wave down the waiter/ waitress for refills, etc. If we even see them at all.
Food was good , but ive bought better tortillas at the convenient store. Yuck!
Excellent service. We were seated right away. Drinks with chips and salsa were delivered quickly. The entire staff kept coming by to refill our drinks, chips and to make sure everything was okay. I definitely recommend going. The food was good. A little under seasoned on the rice and beans. But you do get alot of food for the price. Prices are between $8-$16 for a full meal including rice and beans. The salsa has a very little kick to it so if you're into spicy salsa this is not it. (Which my husband and I are huge on spicy) . The alcohol drinks a pretty reasonably priced and the do use top shelf liquor although they do have a full bar!
Enjoyed Brunch. Food was Excellent and a good price. Would have liked a refill on my drink or at least to be checked on once, but not horrible. Hostess was nice. Would definitely go back.
It was chaos in there. Just don't go on a Sunday from 11-3 we (2people) got there at noon and was told a 14-16 min wait, it was an hour and 10 min before we got to sit down. Then our waiter had no clue what he was doing. Our tea was hot and our cups had about 1/2" of ice in them. I was very disappointed that the service has gone downhill. Food was ok. I got Fajitas and it was so dry and tough due to being overcooked. Just disappointed
The food was good. The guacamole was amazing!! The only thing I didn't care for was the lay out and seating. It seemed too crowded and it just felt like people were seated on top of each other.
Food was good, gave you enough food for two! It was too busy and waiter couldn't keep up.
When it comes to Mexican food I always prefer tiny hole in the wall places over big restaurants. I will make an exception this time with Azteca Bar and Grill. I didn't know what to expect with a place like this. Usually larger Mexican food restaurants tend to tone down the food for gringos like myself. I didn't get that sense here. My wife and I started the evening off with a couple if tequila shots followed by some Modelo Negras and then onto the margaritas. They were all very tasty. I do not however, remember their names. I wonder why. :-). As far as the food goes. I ordered the carnitas and my wife had the Talipia. This is actually the second time I had their carnitas. I obviously enjoyed them to have ot twice. However, I feel they are a little bland. I had to add some hot sauce to them. Otheee than that they were good . My wife enjoyed her fish but commented that it was a little on the small side. All in all, thus is a great place with a lovely bar. If you are looking for a date night restaurant, thus would be a good choice. Prices are great!
Good Mexican restaurant in Stephenville. Although they are a dime a dozen Casa Azteca brings a new menu to the usual fare of Tex-Mex. The food is good although a bit over seasoned. The Chori Queso we ordered was definitely over salty even the table next to us mentioned this and I love salt but it was a bit too much. I ordered al pastor tacos. The tortillas were soft and very good but the pork like the queso was a bit over done with seasoning. I think a little balance and let the natural flavors of the food work for you instead of hitting it so hard with spices. We also ordered fajitas and they were very good for the tenderness and very juicy and were not over seasoned. The drinks were great. Had a double margarita and they must make their own mixer because it was perfect. Not too sweet or sour very well balanced marg with a good tequila. Definitely enjoyed the drinks here. Service was great but understandably got slower as it got busier after 7pm. The staff were all very friendly and quick. The menu is broad and gives you plenty of choices. Overall, a good new addition to restaurants in Stephenville and is nice to see this building finally have a working business again after being shuttered for so long. The interior has been extremely well renovated and looks great. If they make the food experience more consistent and balanced in flavor then they will have a great place.
First time here, on my last night in town and the place was packed! I had been told that they had good drinks and my coworker didn't lie. My only reason for giving this 4 stars was how long it took to get my meal considering it was just me. The people next to me who arrived at the same time got a burrito and two drinks at the bar before I got my taptio plate. All said though, if you're patient its worth the wait!
Very busy spot in town. Food was good and price wasn't outrageous. I didn't see horchata on the menu but when i asked for it they did have it.
Great food and excellent service. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The only downside was the atmosphere—it was pretty loud, which made conversation a bit difficult. Overall, a very good experience and definitely worth visiting.
we went out to try a new place, it felt comforting and they sited us fast. they did get my order wrong but they apologized and quickly fixed it. Also my friend specifically asked for no picadillo and they still added it to her plate. I got the tacos of carne asada and they were pretty big, nothing bad yet again nothing too special about it. The tacos were kinda cold and the salsa wasn't spicy but still good. I would come back and maybe get something different next time.
The food had good flavor, and the portions were big. Service was good as well, but the drinks we ordered were not. Presentation was deceiving, to say the least. I don't know what was in it, but it tasted like lemon peel and too much of it. It overpowered the sweetness and made it undrinkable.
The food is outstanding!!! The bar staff are less than attentive, they let people’s dishes pile up on the bar until there is barely room to set your drink down, it’s super frustrating, you wait for a long time between refills, and the bar tenders don’t seem to care at all about the cleanliness of the bar it’s self. The food is amazing and the wait staff on the floor is top notch. The bar is the only major disappointment. This is my experience on multiple occasions.
Server came to the table way too much. Order was wrong and server questioned me when I told him it was wrong. Wife's food was cold. My correct order took forever to come out. They are charging 2.99% for using a credit card. Sorry, but that is the price of doing business.
Food was pretty good, once we actually got everything. Atmosphere was horrible. Cold outside, and they have the A/C blasting. Waitress said the manager keeps it on and locked, so they can't do anything. Waitress was in too big of a rush to get our order, that she kept trying to leave while we were still ordering. Then brought out part of our food, without any of the extras. Waited ten minutes to get the rest, while they were chatting in the kitchen (clearly visible). She never came back to our table till we were finished, so I guess they don't do coffee refills (even though when asked she said they do). Might come back... Just definitely don't want that waitress (Miriam) again.
This is a nice place, but i always feel sick after eating here. Not sure why, the food tastes good, but something just doesn't agree with me.
I want to enjoy this place, but the music is just too loud. Every time I visit, the volume makes it really hard to have a conversation, especially in the dining room. I always have to ask not to be seated under a speaker because otherwise, I can’t even hear myself or the people at my table. The restrooms are even worse my ears are ringing by the time I leave the restaurant. It’s such a shame because everything else about the place is great, but the music really needs to be turned down to make the experience more comfortable.
The food was okay. Presentation is really nice. The charro beans were really good, the crab cakes were okay. The mangonada margarita was not good, we returned it. The carne asada was really tough, the knife they gave me wouldn't even cut it. We were sat in a booth with a speaker right above us and the music was really loud. Overall it was okay. This isn't a place that will be at the top of my list to return to.
This was our first time to eat here. The queso was really delicious with the chips. I got the steak fajitas and they tasted like that cheap plank steak at HEB with no flavor so I told the waiter I didn’t like it and it didn’t taste good and then he was acting really awkward towards me after that for the remainder of the time there. My mom got the enchiladas she liked them and my daughter got chicken fingers, she ate them so I guess they were alright. I definitely would never order the steak fajitas again, the manager never even came by to see what happened but took it off bill.
Took some friends to dinner. My husband and I ordered fajitas for 2. I guess she thought I ordered a fajita dinner for one person. Same for our friends. No plates. No cheese. I ate from a 3 inch plate. She wouldn't bring us more chips or salsa without repeatedly being asked. I had to get up and get some more tea. I asked for cooked jalapeños not 3 raw ones. Basically she set the dinner down in front of my husband and I fended for myself. 3 margaritas were ordered. The 3rd arrived 10 minutes or so later. This girl did not know how to take down food orders. Didn't offer more tea and water. Argued with me about the jalapeños. The food was very good I can say that
Not as good as it used to be. Employees standing there watching you waiting to be seated (over 75% empty tables) 4 employees standing together talking, never even said hello 16 minutes after being seated (while one employee stood in front of kitchen watching us sit there) we asked someone that walked past us approximately 7 times already if we could have water and chips, afterwards food came fast but not much flavor at all. Disappointed but still cost me $75 , ughhh
Food was pretty good. Service was not. Our server was missing most of our meal and one of the meals arrived so long after the rest all the meals were cold.
Food was great waiter never checked on us i ran out of tea had to ask for check after 15 min. The staff was very unfriendly. Food very good
Used to go couple times a week…service continues to get worse and worse….waited 30 mins before even seeing a waitress today…now that we found El Corral we will not be back.
Great food, Terrible tasting water (chlorine). The air conditioner never feels like it's working so it gets hot in the restaurant. The reason I gave it one star is because of the terrible tasting water that makes your soft drinks taste terrible as well and the restaurant gets so dang hot. Don't get me wrong The food is excellent. But I do not like eating in a sauna.
Came in from out of town and went here as my family wanted to go. I ordered the milenesa de rez and was given what is basically equivalent to a breaded piece of beef jerky. It was so burnt and over cooked it was inedible. There is no way that whoever put it on that plate didn’t know what they were doing and they should frankly be embarrassed they served it. I’ve eaten this before at other restaurants and know what it’s supposed to look like. The waitress was nice and did a good job but I won’t be going back.
The place was clean and the wait staff were very nice and attentive. However, if you have ever eaten at any other Mexican restaurant (yes even a taco bell) you have had better food then this place. The enchiladas were cold in the center, and the mole sauce tasted like it came from a can. The rice and beans were the only part of the meal that tasted like it had any seasoning. The margaritas were weak and over priced. DO NOT get the al à cart tacos. I ordered an avocado taco because it sounded interesting. It was literally a slightly warmed tortilla with 3 pieces of barely ripe avocado on it all for the LOW LOW price of $2.99. I'm just glad I didn't waste anymore money on dessert.
Came in when they opened to get a table for 9 and they would not seat us saying the whole party had to be there. Then sat 2 other parties that came in after us without their whole parties being there. Screw this place.
The food was cold and awful My husband got his meal and mine came later. It was cold. I took one bite and when I said take this off ny bill they said you ate some. I said I took a bite. How the heck did I know it was yuck. I have bite to my husband. He agreed with me. I had to get upset. I told the guy don’t look at me like I am lying. He said you ate some. Omg Never ever will I go back never
Walked in and we said “table for two” then 4 people stood around and talked to each other while we waited. No eye contact/ no smile. Never said “we will be right with you or anything”. Seated at BAD booth with torn and broken seats. Waiters walked back and forth in front of our table half a dozen times. No eye contact- no “ someone will be here soon”. Like we were invisible. Waited 8 minutes and was never attended. Got up and left. Poor training and poor customer service. Unfortunate because I’ve eaten there before and the food was good. They need some grownups working there.
We went here based on the reviews and was very disappointed. We were seated at a dirty table. No one came to our table for at least 15 minutes. The silverware was not clean. The temperature inside was extremely hot. I was sweating the entire time. Service was extremely lacking. The server was nice but it took entirely too long to get anything done. The food was okay, nothing different than you can get anywhere else, with better service. Also ordered drinks which I was not impressed with, I don't even think they mixed them. I honestly hate leaving a negative review, but this place left such an impact, I felt I needed to. We will not be going back.
Their food and drinks are okay. But what made me upset was we went here last night and we have a 10 year old daughter. So we order our food and they end up bringing out all adults food before the kids food (mistake #1). So we are sitting there for like 10 minutes and our daughter still haven't gotten her food (mistake #2). Well finally my husband gets a managers attention and basically tells him that this isn't right the kid should get her food first always. So anyway they gave us the kids meal for free which was good because she said the chicken tasted bad and she maybe took 2 bites of a piece and was done. I posted a picture of it. Because ya the chicken looks really bad and dried out and the fries were bad too (mistake #3) I tasted them too. So pretty much they aren't very kid friendly here.
Me and 3 of my friends just had to leave the restaurant because we waited around an hour to get our order taken. Our waitress got us our drinks, our chips and salsa, and even took our order for our one appetizer which was guacamole. The guacamole was very good, but the fact that after getting served that she never came back was what ruined it fast. She never came back to take our orders, to check on us or anything for a whole hour. I am assuming she forgot about us, she glanced over at our table multiple times, and was even serving a table right next to us. One of my friends got up and went to the front desk and requested a ticket for the drinks and guacamole, and our waitress that never came back was the one who gave us our ticket. She did not say anything at all, she just tossed the ticket on the table and then walked away. It was rude and was a horrible first experience to a restaurant I have heard nothing but great things about.
I was disappointed. First, their restrooms were only down to 2 stalls because 1 stall was clogged up. There was a long line. Our waitress took everyone's drink order, skipped me and took off so fast we couldn't get her attention. We asked for tea with lemon..she forgot the lemon. Then my elder mom asked for coffee. She stated there is no coffee because it's hot outside! So what! Make my mom a cup of coffee! No dice she had to settle for soda. The order came the guy asked, "who has the crab plate?" My sis said, " me" and he handed her a hot plate across the table that was too hot for her hands! That was pretty much the whole evening. Disappointed. Hope it gets better for other customers cause we ain't coming back.
