I love it here! My and my friend had dinner today and the staff were amazing! The service is sooo good, and I’m wondering about the low reviews. If they are complaining about the price, then eat somewhere outside of citywalk. Even fastfood here is expensive. I enjoyed my food so much and I commend the servers! Keep it up! I will eat here every time I’m in universal.
We ate here twice during our vacation and it was excellent both times! The restaurant is very clean and cozy. The food is fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. The service was always friendly. A special compliment to Dylan, he works very fast and is highly motivated. We really felt welcome here and will definitely come back on our next holiday!
Had an amazing authentic Japanese meal after a busy day at Universal Studios. Nico's service was amazing and we were able to adjust a menu item to accommodate a dietary requirement. Definitely recommend! Thanks for a great experience!
Had an excellent dinner here today. We are here on vacation and decided last minute to take in a movie and wanted somewhere to eat that was close and not park food. Our server Pedro was amazing, made some wonderful recommendations and some great conversation. Highly recommend the Marilyn Monroll. If you like spice it was top notch!
Our server, Yanin was great. So, so professional and remembered every single item on our order without writing it down. That is a server trait that never ceases to impress me. The food was delicious and the beautiful tea cups the owner brought back from Japan really added to the impeccable decor and experience.
We had a lovely dinner at this cute restaurant. Our server Luzby was attentive, kind and very helpful. It was a relaxing experience after a long day at the park :)
Went there for dinner after USH trip. This is very fulling! I have to say that the food is not the best or super authentic but it is delicious and worth the price esp. for the park food. Had delicious t-rex roll with scallop tuna shrimp tempura, tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. Got exceptional service from Luzby, she anticipated your needs. She put chilli oil for ramen on the table without asking and it went really well with ramen. She also gave out fun positive vibes. I agree with the comment that save money for the park food and go with this one. 😁
Excellent service and food was really good! My husband and I came here after spending a full day at Universal studios and we were both craving for something soupy to soothe our throats. We were so happy to have found this restaurant that serves soupy noodles and there wasn’t a long waiting time! The texture of the udon was chewy and the soup broth was really tasty! Not too blend and not too overpowering. I ordered the hot green tea as well and it was refillable! They even pack one to-go cup for me which was really nice. Thank you for the pleasant experience!
We had Luzby as our server and she was so incredible!!! The most thoughtful waitress we’ve ever had!! So fun and so kind and the food was amazing! Couldn’t recommend enough
Located along the City Walk, outside Universal Studios, we came across Wasabi after spending the day at the park. Very good experience, which was elevated by our waitress (Lu...?). She was so attentive and helped steer us to the popular dishes. Definitely worth the visit.
What a wonderful experience I had visiting from Texas. I can see why this city walk allowed this restaurant to come over here. After being in universal all day and coming out, wanting a nice soup this was a great spot. The staff was really happy and friendly. He could really tell they enjoy working here. celeste was awesome and amazing and the food 10 out of 10.
10s all around. The service the ambiance the wait time the food the location all are evenly amazing. I'm so happy we decided to come here before our movie. The flaming star was amazing. The steak seasoned and tender. My only thing is the wasabi isn't spicy, like at all. Not even a kick. But we didn't need it. Thank you 😊 I just found my go to sushi spot down.
We arrived at this restaurant famished after a long day at Universal Studios. They promptly seated us. The restaurant and bathrooms were immaculate and clean. The food was incredible, and Luzby made it even more special by singing while touching the flaming star. We couldn’t resist going back the next night.
Excellent sushi, very tasty. Cucumber salad was refreshing and not too sweet and the garlic edamame was sublime. Very nice place to eat out of the sun and eat something no matter how hot or cold the weather.
Super good food here! We tried the Flaming Star Roll and it was delicious! Highly recommend also to try the beef udon! Wagyu was sooooo good. The staff was very nice as well. Will come back again :)
Nice little place! Unfortunately we came right before closing, so we tried our best to be quick with our orders and get outta there. But though our dinner was short, it was great! Server was extremely helpful and didn't seem at all bothered to serve us right before closing up. We even got extra miso soups on the house =) not sure if that was an accident or intentional but we were happy regardless. To top it all off, after paying insane prices for food in the park, we were totally overjoyed that our small dinner came out to under $50 for the two of us. Great price for this location! I'd love to come back and spend more time here next time we end up in the area. And I definitely recommend saving your money in the amusement park and wait until you leave so you can spend all that money here instead 😀
Solid gold experience. Great ramen and beef udon. Takoyaki and California roll were good too. Both noodles have a good serving of protein. Balanced flavor where you can savor the taste of all the ingredients. Oishi!
I was pleasantly surprised with every dish we ordered here. I was expecting standard tourist fare with higher prices mid food and drinks but this place served it up! Our waiter and sushi chef were awesome even though they were pretty busy and the yuzu margaritas were 🔥
Second time here and we enjoyed it throughly. On my first visit I caught an awesome happy hour (be on the lookout for it). Quality of the fish is top notch. Service has been good. Get the sashimi platter, skip on the tartare!
Two days in Hollywood Studios and two days visiting this great restaurant. Food, flavors, ingredients and all they use was amazing. Well served and at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and our waiter Stephanie was very professional. Same for the manager in turn, who knows what “customer service” is and respected the 20% discount that was offer to us in our first visit, if you visit them again within the next 24 hours. Me, my wife, our 4 and 6 year old kids highly recommend this restaurant.
2/16/2025 - Sushi and sashimi from Wasabi At CityWalk are fresh, tasty with great presentations and ambience. We had an amazing experience and service. We enjoyed a walk before and after lunch. Seeing the Sheriff onsite makes us feel safer during a walk at the Universal City Plaza. Yanin, our waiter, is very friendly and professionally. We had a great conversation and visited the Panda Express at the 3rd floor near the Wasabi to see a photo of the owner, Andrew Cherng, (程正昌), who was born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China in April 1948. He has been contributing to Los Angeles dinning and food industry year over year greatly and is co-founder and co-Chief Executive Officer of Panda Express.

Surprisingly good. Everything we had was good… Takoyaki with plenty octopus, miso soup had fresh tofu, spicy tuna roll, Agedashi tofu with big pieces of tofu, and the chef special crab hand roll…all were amazingly good… Do not order any white wine!!! It was awful..

The food and service were amazing, though the experience started off a bit rocky due to a shortage of servers while handling larger parties. Once we were assigned a new server, Luzby, everything turned around. She went above and beyond with excellent food, condiment, and drink recommendations. We ordered the miso soup, karaage, gyoza, Flaming Star roll, and California rolls. My favorites by far were the Flaming Star roll and the karaage. It was my daughter’s birthday, and the staff made it extra special by surprising her with a cake, their signature birthday song, and a green tea with a twist. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely recommend and return to this restaurant in the future.
I recently visited Wasabi at Citywalk a couple of days ago and my family and I had amazing time! the food was delicious but what made the experience even better, was the service provided by Yanin. He was the main reason we went back the next day! Amazing place I definitely recommend this place!
Had dinner at Wasabi with family and really enjoyed the experience. The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, and the cucumber salad was light and refreshing. Garlic edamame was a standout. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable. While we were eating, the restaurant photographer came by, waited until all the dishes were on the table, and took a group photo. Later we received a printed picture, and it turned out great — such a nice touch and a memorable souvenir from the evening.
Stopped by Wasabi with friends and had an excellent meal. The sushi was very tasty, everything felt fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. At one point the photographer passed by, joked with us a bit, and caught a really natural moment at the table. The printed photo they brought us later looked amazing and didn’t feel staged at all. Great food, good vibes, and a fun memory to take home.
Loved the place! I’m from Japan and I brought some Japanese friends who were visiting. We were very impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We had various rolls and tempura udon, takoyaki and Karaage- everything was delicious!! But my favorite was our waitress Luzby. Not only she was friendly and helpful with the menu, she was polite, patient and such a lovely entertainer! We all loved her singing the wasabi song while searing our Wagyu roll (to die for!) with a torch right in front of us. I have a few favorite Japanese restaurants but Wasabi is now one of my top 3! would definitely come back here soon, and ask for Luzby❤️
Stopped into Wasabi while we were walking around CityWalk and it ended up being a great choice. The staff moved things along quickly and the food hit the spot. The photo service was a nice surprise too and the picture came out really clear.
This place was busy in a good way and the energy was fun. We got seated pretty fast and everything came out quickly. The photo service was honestly one of the coolest parts and the photo looked better than I expected.
We came here as part of our CityWalk night and had a really good experience. Friendly staff, solid food, and everything felt smooth. The photo service was great and we left with a really nice photo to keep.

Visted this place after after completing universal rides. Tried something called Ramen for the 1st time. I really liked it more like soupy noodles. Also tried Japanese dessert Mochi. We were here during happy hours, but the waitress did nt mention that, and we came to know only at the time of payment. That was a little disappointment otherwise could have tried some more Japanese dishes.
I tried this japanese place along universal walk and turns out they have great food. There was no long wait and the place was just perfect. They also had outdoor seating but chose an indoor. We were seated by a lady host as we walked up the podium but she wasnt very pleasant when she came up. And this guy in a black suit took orders. It didnt really took that long to get our food. We had great time. 👍
Fine Japanese restaurant with good sushi selection. They are open after the park is closed. So highly recommend for late snack after the fun is over at the Universal Studio. The place is nice with limited table. We had sushi platter and udon, and chicken. A la carte menu portions are big. Sushi is ok. But you are not looking for culinary experience here.

I want to be straightforward: this restaurant is masquerading as a Japanese restaurant. Let’s start with the menu—it’s shocking to see they’ve simply written 'Kanji' for sake. For those unaware, 'Kanji' refers to Chinese characters, not sake, and this glaring mistake is obvious even to someone who isn’t Japanese. It’s clear there’s no authentic Japanese influence here. Now onto the food. The Yuzu Margarita was a disappointment—a salty and unsavory drink that tasted neither of yuzu nor anything resembling a proper margarita. It was the shame of the day. The shrimp tempura was another letdown. The shrimp were curly, a common mistake by those unfamiliar with proper tempura preparation. To make tempura correctly, you need to make small cuts along the shrimp’s belly to prevent it from curling. Even Costco manages to get their bulk tempura right, but this restaurant cannot. The tonkotsu ramen was equally disappointing. We waited almost 30 minutes for our ramen, which is shockingly long for a dish that’s usually quick to prepare. Worse, during this time, we were completely ignored by the restaurant staff—no updates, no apologies, just a rude lack of care. When it finally arrived, the broth was watery, lacking the richness and creaminess that defines a good tonkotsu. The noodles were overcooked, and the bamboo shoots tasted like they came straight from a can. It felt like eating a bowl of rinse water with noodles. To make matters worse, the staff placed the chopsticks vertically, pointing directly at other people. This is extremely disrespectful and rude in Japanese culture, as it violates basic chopstick etiquette. It’s another clear indication of their lack of understanding of Japanese dining traditions. And finally, selling miso soup as a side dish feels like an insult to Japanese cuisine. I’d strongly recommend the restaurant owner take a trip to Japan to experience authentic Japanese food, learn the techniques, and understand the culture before labeling this establishment as Japanese.

Service was very slow; we waited for our sushi rolls for more than half an hour, and they served a table that arrived after us before us. The food was okay, nothing special, but the overall experience was disappointing.
Probably the worst sushi I’ve had in my life. The fried rice was super bland. Our bill had a ~16% “service charge” for being a party larger than 6. And that wasn’t considered gratuity.
