Who Song and Larry's is a must for mexican food in the vancouver/portland area! Food is always great, love the warm chips and salsa they bring out as your arriving. The view of the Colombia River and bridge adds to the ambiance especially if during the warmer months you dine outside. They also have heaters and umbrellas when dining outdoors. The service is good, very nice employees the only issue is sometimes they are extremely busy which adds to less service at the table. The fajitas are perfection and all the food comes in very large portions. Also since its along the waterfront you can have a lovely walk before or after your meal spotting lots of boats and ducks.
Hello and Welcome to the One and Only, Who Song & Larry’s! This place has been here for a long time and will always hold a special place in my heart. Great food, wonderful ambiance and even a second floor you can rent out for wedding receptions, big Birthdays or Company Events! Immediately upon entering you feel transported to little Mexico. They have a large parking lot with free parking, which has room for 50+ cars. (So no worries finding a spot) When visiting a couple of close friends who live in Vancouver, we talked over the lunch ideas and all agreed that Who Song and Larry’s was the ticket to a great meal. We had a nice selection of vegetarian Enchiladas, I got a vegetarian wet burrito and we had margaritas and the table side guacamole to complement the delicious chips and Salsa. It happened to be fall season so we sat inside, but on a warm summer day, the outdoor deck area is amazing! If you are looking for a nice place to have a delicious fulfilling meal, and a great margarita to top things off, I highly recommend Who Song & Larry’s. Have a wonderful time and a fantastic meal! Thank you for taking the time to read my honest review. Happy Dining!!
Nice restaurant and cantina. On the water front in vancouver. Ive ate here a few times over the years and it has always been consistently good. Had lunch today and it was not very crowded. The waiter served us promptly and all the food was good. I had the flautas and fajita duo. Everything was served quickly, hot and fresh. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Id highly recomend who song and Larry's. 5 stars.
My family and I have been curious about this place for a long time. So we were excited to come check it out today. He had no idea what the Mexican restaurant until we walked in. We're really glad we did The food was delicious. The staff was friendly. The restaurant felt welcoming. The music could be a little loud at times but it was fun and festive. The place was kept pretty clean too. We all enjoyed our meals. No complaints about the food or the staff. They have lovely seating area outside that has a really fantastic view of the river. The only thing I would change is giving people more space between the bathroom stalls and the toilet. I had to squeeze to get out of that bathroom door. My legs we're hitting the porcelain behind me so that I could get out of the bathroom stall.
The room has a bed and breakfast feel. Similar to 1890's built home. The service is great. The queso is the best I've had. Quarantine rates with the best I've tasted. I will be back.
As any one else noticed that there is a surcharge here? We’ve been coming here for years. Food was great, service was good, and the ambiance on the patio is perfect. Only thing to mention is a somewhat of a negative light is waited for 30 minutes while there were plenty of tables open, I brought it to the managers attention and she said “ oh sorry we had a shift change” funny after we sat, people were getting seated right and left! Bottomline, don’t go between 2 and 3 pm, and better communication from the manager… who stood with 2 other staff members at the podium for 15 minutes.
The location, right along the Columbia River, is great. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is yummy. We had the Happy Hour specials, and found all the items definitely worth it! The queso was my favorite - it seemed to be made with real cheese (which I could tell by the way it "strung" off the chips) and was very tasty. We also had the margarita flight, which was lots of fun. We'll definitely be back - maybe for Sunday brunch?
Great place! Our usual spot was closed so we decided to try something new. This spot was located right on the waterfront, had a parking lot (so no paying for parking, a bonus in downtown Vancouver), and the staff was really nice. They sat us by the river view, and were very attentive. I ordered the fish tacos, and my husband got the burrito bowl. Very solid food, great flavors, cooked to perfection. I look forward to coming back and trying the enchiladas!
We went here because we saw the cute yellow building with the happy hour sign from the bridge. We ate WAY too much of their delicious salsa and the cocktails were fantastic. Salvador the bartender (I hope I have his name correct) was absolutely fantastic. He was on point the entire time and we were very grateful for him. That was the first time we had had a date in months and we are so happy that it went beautifully. We will definitely be back. The photo is of the view from our table.
Got greeted my Ashely one of the servers that was working the patio. ALL I CAN SAY IS THIS GIRL IS QUICK. I had a 30 min lunch break and she definitely understood the assignment. I got the carne asada fries in happy hour. First time being here but I work right down the street now. Ask for Ashley. She is amazing
The restaurant was immaculate with just a couple other patrons, got seated right away in a quiet booth. I ordered the Macho Combo which was delicious across the plate. Highly recommend!
What a great place to do lunch! Our waitress was excellent in serving us. Thanks Megan, you are awesome! The lemon and rosemary chicken tacos were excellent! I’ll be back when I come back into town!!!
Going to this place is always a treat. Their food and servers and exceptional and the vibes of everybody having a great time is unmatched. Shoutout to Henry and Jorge.
Our server Sarah was excellent and the good was very good with generous portions. The sunset is the perfect setting too!
The table-side mashed guacamole is a storm of flavor, and the secret queso cheese sauce is layered with spice! The steak taco is juicy, the freshly made tortillas are malty, and the shrimp is as tender as freshly caught. Opened nearly 30 years ago, the sunset view from the window and the scent of tequila make for a unique ritual. The margaritas are a bit reserved, but at $40 per person, you can enjoy a seafood taco platter and beachside flavor, so it's a good idea to lock in a patio seat for a class reunion. The back alley hides an egg of salty sea breeze and wine aroma, so remember to check it out before you leave!
First time there. I made reservations online. And when I got there I was a couple minutes late but they had my table set up and ready for me. The food was great the service was amazing. This will be one of my new favorite places.
We had Christmas brunch here! Great food, friendly staff.
This has been a fun family Mexican restaurant in Vancouver for us since the 1980s. The food is great. The home made Guacamole is amazing! Also, the Classic Combo, the Chicken Enchiladas, the Chicken Tamales, and the Taco Salad are all great choices. Still a fun place for a big party or just a family outing!
I had a better place to be on the back deck overlooking the water eating the family fajita deal that feeds four for only 75 bucks with unlimited sides! The corn cake tho!
The food is really good without a doubt, but what makes the experience more enjoyable is the back patio at the edge of the Columbia River, you see the boats, jet skis and the drawing bridge while you enjoy the outdoor dining. One of my favorite local places to eat!!
Food is great and the location on Columbia River is magnificent. The seating on the porch has a great view on the river and today it was a full moon. The food served here is amazing and authentic. I came to this restaurant about 35 years ago and still visit this location whenever I get a chance.
Great service! Fair prices. Large portions 5⭐'s for my partner's birthday evening well spent. Flan was amazing and big enough for two. Everyone was very kind. The birthday song was loud and everyone around sang. Fun! Will return and definitely recommend this establishment 🎩 My hat's off to the cook!
Who Song & Larry's probably has the nicest atmosphere of a Mexican restaurant that I've been into. Clean interior, and an amazing waterfront view. Even better were the food and service. I received the chip appetizer almost as soon as I sat down, and everything else I wanted came very quickly from the waiter with a friendly smile. I ordered the chicken fajitas, which were the best I've had, spiced well with fresh ingredients. Finally, I fell in love with the Mexican bread pudding, which had some awesome ice cream on top of it. Their dessert menu looked great and I'd like to come back to try their other selections.
I was welcomed by Jordan the manager when I walked in. he sat me on the best table on the deck. JR provided knowledgeable and friendly service. The Carnitas with chili Verde sauce were tender juicy and delightful. I was really excited to try the Petrone skinny margarita as I am controlling my diabetes with diet and exercise. The beautiful Columbia river views made the dining experience extraordinary. I recommend this Mexican dining experience.
This place has been around for years and it never disappoints! The food is always great! Our server Henry always takes care of us when we come! He’s the best!
Our server Reagan made my week. We come here often, every out of town guest I bring here. The food and service is always great. I came tonight because I wanted their skirt steak with the chimichuri they had on Christmas. They didn’t have any but Reagan went above and beyond to help me get it. Tip, ask for their bean dip with the chips and salsa, it’s so good, and their skinny margarita is one of my favorite margaritas around. This is why we will be back on the regular.
We had our Christmas party there upstairs. We had Dulce, Ashley and Chelle. We had a large party with lots of kids and they were patient with them and on top of the drinks and food. Thank you so much!!!!! I wish they're was better plug in options upstairs. We wanted to have more Christmas lights. But we managed.
Ok, this is a throwback from the past. The only one left in the chain. First clean bathrooms, very nice service , friendly on time helpful and happy The food was prepared very well, my chicken enchilada was a tad dry, but every other item were excellent. Guacamole was just right with fresh crisp and delicious. Thank you to the Staff and Management for a great lunch 5 people with 5 drinks $139
Came in for a quick bite inbetween meetings. Adela and Audelia were amazing. Timely service and good vibes all around! The sizzling chicken enchiladas were very good as well. Would highly recommend sitting in their section!
We had a large group, there was a mix up in the number written down for how many there were. They were respectful, helpful, and got us seated quickly. The good was great. Our service was great too, for how busy they were.
I'm a little late on this review, okay a lot late. I'm giving this place five stars solely based on the server the night I was there, Megan or it may have been Charlie IDK?? She knows her name I'm sure. She made the kinda mediocre place and food into an outstanding night out. Spot on service with a smile and a laugh or two. We even stayed for another drink because she was so much fun. Excellent job and they should be proud to have you working there. Thanks Megan
Delia is the best server in the world—she makes the most amazing cocktails. Thanks to her, we have an exceptional experience every single time. The food and drinks are phenomenal. One of the best parts is being greeted with chips and salsa after a long day, oh and while taking in the beautiful Columbia River views. Delia is truly the heart and soul of the place. Thank you! Oh and P.S. that corn cake stuff is awesome!
Love this place always enjoy the atmosphere and the view of the river and taking a little walk along the riverfront. The food is amazing. Chips and salsa are nice and warm with a wonderful flavor and the happy hour flautas with their most delicious sauce is mouth watering. Yummy carne asada fries pair great with one of their awesome Margaritas or other fine drinks . The staff is also very attentive and great . One of our faves in the area !
We go to Who Song and Larry's for lunch a couple times a month. They have well priced meals that are delicious and the service it amazing. The manager Yanina is pleasant and very personal. If you are in the area you must try lunch there.
Great service! Drinks, food/dessert was great for good prices and delicious. The whole staff is so kind and lovely. Also love the decor. Can't wait to come back, we all had a great time, cheers :)
Great view of the water of Columbia. We did not eat. We just stopped for drinks, but this is very busy during lunch hour on a Wednesday. We will definitely be back to try the food, but the service is awesome and the people are friendly and you cannot beat the view
As a Texan, I’m a little bit of a snob when it comes to my Mexican food. But this place was GREAT! Their happy hour options for food and drink were fantastic! I got the salmon tacos and queso and was extremely pleased!! And the view from the patio is excellent!
Late lunch one day when passing through the area. It was great food. We felt that we were lucky to have come during a lull because the menu could have been challenging to navigate without the attentive server who helped us find food just for us. I was able to order corn, no wheat, to help me in my regimen that keeps me healthy. I ate with confidence that the best possible care had been taken to prepare my food. If the place had been busy, I don't know if I would have felt so confident. Yummy food and excellent presentation. Five star on the food. Fun time we both had. Mexican canteen-a atmosphere with a squishy feel to the carpet that whispered of lots of spilled drinks over the years. Heavy furniture and easily cramped spaces spoke to those who frequent places for alcohol with good food to go along with. Situated extremely close to I 5 in Washington, the parking lot is interesting as it is shared with other places. Trains roll by here and rumble the area. It's definitely worth a visit. I will recommend the food. We are not in that area often and the over the bridge traffic isn't inviting to put this on a frequent visiting list. Hubby groused about the price, but I didn't think it much out of the average price range for this quality of food. No one had to cook... and no one had to do the dishes... hey... what a deal. A year later...trying it again. Not so sure in gluten free this time but tried to stick with corn. Cross contamination will be issue. Floors still squishy and decor same as before. Prices are more than I remember but service is still most excellent. Views are excellent and explains the extra money. Too hot today to sit outside but our window view was fun, too. Cheers!
I wanted to give this place 5 stars... growing up a rock throw from Mexico has my expectations high for mexican food. I've wanted to try this place since I moved here, finally got time to stop by. Walking in, the atmosphere is awesome, cozy and decorated awesomely. Was quick to be seated. We chose to sit inside by window. Waiter came to get our drink order shortly after being seated, ordered the micheladas ( not many places have them here and if they do they ain't that good) they're a staple back home. They weren't the best I've had but they're a for sure go to. On to the food. The reason I wanted to give 5 stars is most any mexican restaurant you go to and get fresh good chips before meal, you know you're fixing to have a amazing meal. It came out fairly quick after ordered. My fiance for a taco plate, kiddo got corn dogs and beans and I got a combo plate. Fiance enjoyed her tacos down to rice n beans. My plate the chili relleno was very tasty! Had a perfect spice level, beef taco was good on flavor and crunchy, tamale was good with the green sauce smothered on it, enchilada was ok. The biggest reason a star dropped off wax my food wasn't hot. Was barely warm. Not sure why. Came out fast enough to not have to sit a while and cool off. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to wait to eat since my plate was larger than fiance and they'd have to sit n wait for me to get done longer. So I bucked up n ate it. The taste and all was good and we will totally be coming back for another visit.
I hadn’t been to Who Song and Larry’s for a long time. I remembered that their guacamole was very good. I picked up some items for a Super Bowl party. The server was very attentive and kind.
Food is consistently good, but not mind blowing. I do think their table salsa is unusually delicious! And I am a fan of the complimentary tortilla chips - right amount of salt and they’re not too thick. Depending on the time of day, the outdoor seating is can be noisy. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are pretty good.
I recently visited Who Song & Larry’s, and it was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt lively, warm, and welcoming. The restaurant has that perfect mix of fun, energy, and comfort — a place where you can relax, enjoy good food, and spend time with friends without feeling rushed. The staff deserves special recognition. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, attentive, and patient. Our server checked in on us frequently, made great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. It’s clear that customer service is a real priority here. Now the food — absolutely fantastic. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, and the margaritas were spot-on: strong, refreshing, and delicious. We ordered several dishes, and everything came out hot, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The fajitas were juicy and full of flavor, the tacos were perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. You could really tell that the ingredients were fresh and prepared with care. The location is another highlight. Being right by the water adds an amazing vibe, especially if you get a table with a view. It’s the kind of place where you can sit for a while, enjoy the scenery, and just unwind. Whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a casual drink, the atmosphere hits the mark every time. Overall, Who Song & Larry’s is a fantastic spot — great food, outstanding service, and a fun, laid-back environment that makes you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family. Highly recommended!
The food was delicious. The table we were seated at was very old and a bit sticky. My napkin shredded when I lifted it off the table. The service was great, though maybe a little slower than I would have preferred. There were several empty tables around us, so I'm not sure why it was slow service, but that could be their style. It took a bit over an hour for two people to get lunch and no appetizers, but a dessert was ordered to go.
Great location. Lovely patio! Food left much to be desired.
Pricey, food was cold, slow service... Enjoyed the view and the drinks, fresh guac, and chips. Ordered the fiesta platter (chips were stale, boneless wings were okay), bacon wrapped shrimp (messy but okay to taste), chicken and sour cream enchiladas (tasted good but order was wrong - asked for no beans), buffalo wings (too saucy but good). Long Island was decent, good Mimosa. 2 entrees, 3 starters, and two spec drinks for $140.
It's been a good many years since we've dined at Who Song & Larry's, possibly decades ago on sunny March Tuesday we made our way to the waterfront for dinner. It was okay. Not bad, the food and service were fine, but not 4 or 5 start worthy. The menu is interesting and diverse, but there's just not enough "experience" in the experience relative to the other options on the waterfront.
I had a great first time experience here a while ago and came back today for the second time. The staff and service have been great both times but I felt like this time around the food was lacking. I ordered the grande fiesta platter again. It's a great mix of a variety of appetizers but the flavor was just not there for me. It was busy today since apparently there was some kind of boating event I wasn't aware of which made for a much livelier atmosphere.
Washington state law requires restaurants to disclose any mandatory service charges on receipts and menus, clearly stating the portion that goes to employees versus the employer. Who song does not. They also charged more than listed price on the menu which i had to wait 10 minutes for them to figure that out. No compensation for their errors. I went here 2 days in a row and we had nearly the same things. The difference between these two days was significant. The food and drinks were noticeably different. Won't be going back. Not worth the chance of getting lower quality food and service, illegal surcharges, and getting charged more than menu price.
Super disappointed. We came in and the worker asked us if we wanted inside or outside. We said “Outside”. She never came back and a line started to form. We waited 15 minutes until someone different came and took us outside I don’t where that worker went but this was OUR first and LAST time coming here.. very disappointed how they handle their customers. Other than that the waiter we had was very nice and caring. Food was amazing definitely filling.
This place is so wildly disappointing to me. They have the world at their fingertips and they just waste the entire opportunity. They need to give up the gig and sell to a local company / restaurant that will do something with the place. They're becoming a community shame. Who Song and Larry's is apparently a "staple" of Vancouver. They have it all, truly. Location - OMG AMAZING! They are literally feet off the I-5 bridge ON THE COLUMBIA RIVER! How could it get any better than that? Well, they certainly know how to waste the advantage. Time for them to move on... First, the place is filthy. That's just simply it. It's gross dirty. Tables are sticky and filmy. Food on the floor. It smells badly inside. They always have a significant wait but 1/2 their tables are empty. The staff is just terrible. Honestly, they turn staff over constantly. Once in a while you get a newbie that is friendly for a tip but it's just sad. The food isn't even mediocre. It's gross. HORRIBLY OVERPRICED. HORRIBLY. The portions are poor. Chips & salsa is disappointing. Drinks are all ice and filler. Just junk. The place is run down, gross, HORRIBLE lighting. One fan could have a LED light and a 100wt spot light all in one. It's jarring and uncomfortable killing any hope of ambiance. The roof is unsanitary, leaking and being caught by towls on the floor and buckets. Someone should honestly call the health department. There is no way this place passes code. It isn't safe to eat here, we won't be back.
