This is a lovely place and their food is delish. It is a smaller location that offers privacy and awesome food options. Their french toast is one of the best!!

Went on a Thuraday evening and had no wait. Had the Slabtown Sling to start the evening and ordered their popular brussel sprouts - im not really a fan of Brussels sprouts but holy hell this is an item not to be overlooked. Outstanding. But after a short discussion with our server, Grace, she helped me decide between the steak and the salmon. Normally - id never pass up a 10oz steak - but I have adjusted my diet and she said I would love the salmon (because I enjoy beets) and Grace wasn't wrong! It was phenomenal and paired well with the pinot she recommended too. Might stop here more often when im in the area

We were staying at the hotel and actually ate all of our meals here. The food is really tasty, particularly the breakfast food! The lemon ricotta pancakes and the French toast were both to die for, and nicely plated. The chicken club was also good. The Southwest Chopped salad was good, but not a great value, it was almost all lettuce. The loganberry cider from Baumans is delicious. Our service was great except for the first visit, it was just adequate. We had breakfast and dinners here for two days.

Stayed at the Silver Cloud and ate half of our meals here, despite Portlands very satisfying food scene. The staff is awesome and super knowledgeable of local events and locations as well!

Small place in the lobby of a recently remodeled hotel. Surprisingly excellent service and excellent food. Small menu but excellent preparation. For example, the hot chocolate was made with baking chocolate and a dollop of creme. The potatoes O'Brien has tricolor bell pepper, perfectly fried potatoes with knife siping to ensure the interior is cooked. The brunch sandwich was filling and crunchy delicious. 28 chairs with five bar stools. They can easily handle a group of six, 8-10 if you call ahead. Perfect place to eat alone. Full bar

The menu is legit! Loved the fresh squeezed juice and whisky bacon. The ambience is chic. Charlie is a great bartender who has a wealth of knowledge and experience! Would dine again!

I ordered the chicken sandwich and I'm telling you, it felt absolutely disrespectful how thin and crispy that chicken was. Turns out, it's some people's flavor... ok. Not going to judge... The burger I ordered to replace my meal was amazing! Highly recommended. The servers responded to my insult of the meal very well actually except for the little eye contact afterwards. I give them 4 stars but they also seemed a bit unfriendly and didn't represent the Oregon kindness that I have felt almost everywhere. My return experience for brunch was the best diner experience I've ever had. I'm very torn about the experience at this place. Horrible first impression. But what a great way to change a negative opinion. The server this afternoon, M., was the best I've met. Final comment: try lunch here first.

This place is awesome! One of the best French toasts I ever had. They have the great beer choices - all the best from local breweries. The bonus is that you can park in the hotel garage for free. We will be definitely back.

Wow, just wow. Ended up here on a whim when I had some extra time for breakfast. First, FREE PARKING in NW is amazing. Second - I ordered the Eggs Benny and I am a particular eater...but the food that came out was UNBELIEVABLE. The potatoes were this fluffy crispy amazingness... I'm not even sure how they cooked them. Bacon that fell apart in my mouth, a sauce that made me want to lick it off my fingers and perfectly cooked eggs. The server Terri was amazing and kind. I can't believe this place didn't have a line out the door. Coming back.. .definitely. I can't wait to try the Lemon ricotta pancakes next!

After a long hour of trying to get breakfast in downtown Portland, as a last resort we drove to Urban Steel Kitchen, hoping it's distance would mean the wait time would be less. We were not disappointed, but don't let the fact that there was no crowd fool you. The food was amazing and the waitstaff was very attentive and welcoming. Will definitely recommend the French toast which felt like eating a cloud dipped in syrup.

SO good! Glad we popped in for a last minute bite. Lemon pancakes were so delicious - I normally go for savory but these were calling me. Brioche french toast with bacon jam was a yummy surprise. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Good food. French toast was too sweet for my taste but they deserve the 5 stars ⭐️ anyway. Free PARKING 🅿️ at the hotel lot.

Executive Chef Troy's passion for the culinary experience shines in his life-changing take on Brioche French Toast. Originally found this place by happenstance when searching for brunch places with mimosas. We saw that it was in a hotel lobby when we arrived and almost noped out of there. Amazingly glad we didn't. We ended up going back twice more during our five-day stay. Gourmet food at non-gourmet pricing with fresh-squeezed mimosas, and quick turnaround times from order to table. What more could you want?

Friendly staff and tasty food. Its small and quaint and clean, I suggest them for brunch for sure

We came here for breakfast mid-morning on a Monday and were seated right away. The bloody Mary was a marvel, horseradish forward and spicy but not spicy-hot. So, so good. I had the hash; the pork belly was tender and crunchy, and the eggs were perfectly poached. Hubby couldn't choose between the brioche French toast and the lemon ricotta pancake. Our server, Ellie, suggested he get a single pancake to go with the French toast. He loved them both and especially loved the bacon jam on the French toast. We'll be back.

Tasty burger for lunch while staying at hotel. Cooked perfect per my request-medium. Great flavor and fresh toasted bun. Ordered mine with the side salad which complimented burger perfectly. Was not busy when I went. Friendly and great service.

Fantastic brunch, you can park in the lot for guests so no issue with street parking. Dinner menu looks great and we will definitely be back. Get there before you have to wait in a line because this place is not going to be hidden much longer.

Food was good. Tried the slabtown hash brown. It was pretty good and drinks were delicious as well.

Restaurant inside of a hotel, which I almost let fool me. Don't make my same mistake! Food was incredible, and staff was incredibly accomodating and intuitive to our needs. I recommend the french toast and brussel sprouts, but nothing disappointed.

We came here after a kid’s birthday party in the neighborhood. The food was delicious and made to order, and the kitchen was really accommodating with our 3 5 year olds, making modifications to the menu to make things kid friendly. I’m gluten free and they also very easily accommodated me. We didn’t have any drinks but the bar menu looked awesome. This is a great little gem!!!

Ended up here because the wait was so long at Besaws, and honestly I’m so happy. I’m shocked that it was empty because the food and service are so good. She made us a custom coffee drink and was a total delight. We got a Benedict, salmon sandwich, and French toast. All so yummy! Really great flavors, and the potatoes are possible the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had, and I’m a huge potato lover. As a snobby Portland brunch eater, I was quite happy. Would definitely come back!

Brought my fiancé, her mom and her sister(as well as our 11 month old daughter) here for mothers day (May 12 2024) and it was great. The restaurant is located below a hotel, but it didn't feel like it was part of a hotel. It felt like it's own little place which is nice. The menu was simple and although small, gave a nice range of choices or choose from. I chose the hamburger and fries, my fiancé ordered a salmon sandwich which was like a lobster roll but with salmon and really delicious. My fiancé mother ordered the lobster sandwich, and that was cooked perfectly too. I asked for my burger to be well done, but I think that's was a mistake as it was a bit on the burnt tasting side. Everything comes with a choice of fries or salad as a side. Be warned, the appetizers and sharables were small compared to most other restaurants. We ordered a thing of garlic fries and there wasn't enough for us, as we finished the fries well before the food came. Like I said we came here on mothers day at 3:30pm and despite that, there was only 1 other person in the restaurant. The food was decently priced although I wouldn't recommend the hamburger for $18. The salmon roll and lobster sandwich were alot better and only a few dollars more. The total for 4 people was $110 including a tip. All in all I would definitely recommend this place

I tried both the bar and the restaurant. The drinks at the bar were creative and flavorful. I had the blackberry lemonade and really liked it. When she asked how I liked it, my only dislike was the amount of crushed ice, as I prefer my drinks neat. This drink is served cold, and her solution was to use an extra large cube in my next one. It was a brilliant idea, keeping the ice out, but the drink cold! The next morning, their eggs Benedict was glorious! The hollandaise was smooth as silk, and graced perfectly basted eggs atop fresh English muffins. The service was fantastic! Both the bartender and waiter were fun and friendly, making the experience more enjoyable.

Excellent food, they really go the extra mile and it shows. I had the hash and my partner had the brioche french toast, both were simple and very well made and plated. I have three complaints: the waitress tried to memorize our order but got it wrong, the drip coffee was pretty awful, and the only specifically vegetarian option on the menu was the granola, though they readily adjusted the french toast to be vegetarian. Honestly, my expectations going in were low, but the food really blew me away. No pics because we just dug in and I don't normally leave reviews

Their home made spam and sausage are the best! I also like their toasts. Neat and clean tasting food with awesome services plus parking lot!

Awesome experience! We came in with a party of seven hesitant that we could be seen as the matador had just told us they didn’t allow minors. We were celebrating my mom’s birthday. I have to say this was a way better choice. We were warmly greeted and made to feel so welcome. Hands down best service I’ve ever received. Food was great, drinks were tasty! I didn’t catch the servers name but she was absolutely amazing!! Would come again!!

The steak was well worth it! I've had New York steak before in hotels and it's never worked out. I only tried it because the server was so sweet about it and suggested I try it medium rare and I'm so glad I did!

Though in a hotel, this place did not disappoint at all. We enjoyed 3 convenient and delicious meals here, even accommodated out special requests from the kitchen to keep our meals keto and healthy. The brussel sprouts were delicious, loved the wedge salad, burger and steak. Service on all 3 occasions was spot on, friendly and efficient. Don't forget to tip as generously as you can afford when experiencing exceptional service. Btw, the hotel was a step above and a good location within walking distance of great shops and dining and free covered parking and great service.

Walked in like, "Oh, It's IN the hotel." Lovely little nook with a relaxed ambiance. Prompt, kind, and thoughtful service. Every food item we ordered was delicious. Great date spot or even just a quick ish bite. Get at it if you haven't.

I brought my family for a visit and I guess it was my turn to pick where to eat for breakfast. I have to tell you the food was amazing and I know it's a little restaurant inside a hotel but it was just nice and cozy. We ordered 4 dishes to share and the waitress offered to have it separated onto our own plates but we decided to forego that option. It was nice to have someone be attentative rather than our last experience of having dinner where there was no service. Thank you for the amazing food and the experience.

Best breakfast in Portland. I'll update later when I find out the name of the artist of the fabulous vibrant glass mural spanning one entire wall with stylized collage(ish) views of the city. Service is fast--the most genuinely friendly staff in the city. The serving sizes are humongous, enough to last you for hours, in fact until the last meal of your day. (Note to vegans--probably not going to meet your needs.) I tried to not invade the privacy of diners or staff, so you won't see people in my photos.

A hidden gem in the heart of Portland. Brunch here felt like more than a meal — it was an experience. The shrimp and grits sang with flavor, and every dish carried the kind of care you can taste. They went above and beyond to honor our dietary needs without making it feel like a compromise. Our server, Sage, was a bright light — gracious, kind, and attentive in a way that made us feel not just served, but welcomed. Supporting Black-owned businesses is always meaningful, and here it felt especially beautiful because the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality all came together with such love. This isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a place to savor, to celebrate, and to return to.

Nice place. Interesting menu. It was hard to choose. Thankfully my husband ordered different things and we shared. Ginger beer - spiced rum drink was delicious. Thanks

All in all, every dish I tried as part of our group was very tasty. Each ingredient is obviously carefully sourced and this clearly shows on the plate. Steak, chicken and garlic fries were particularly good. The house salad was also fresh and garnished appetizingly. Prices for the served quality were very reasonable. Service was also great and speedy. This is one of the few places in the area where I cannot think of any areas of improvement (I am tempted to say "bigger portions" but that would be unfair because I am greedy when it comes to good food 🙂) All I can say is PLEASE maintain this bar until I revisit!

Cute little spot inside of a hotel. For the prices, I would not go out of my way to eat here again. However, if you’re staying in the hotel, it’s worth a stop. We had the mac, a burger, brussels sprouts and the parmesan fries. The Brussels were the highlight followed by the mac.

B
Beth Frost

Good quality food, drinks are OK. Very friendly service. The short rib and brick chicken were both really great. This is in the Silver Cloud Hotel, easy walking from other nearby shops.

We stopped by and had brunch here. We had the Slabtown hash, and some cocktails. The service, cocktails, and dining experience was all excellent. The pork was dry, and the hash browns weren’t that great, but all together it was very good.

G

Small menu but the kind where anything on it is going to be delicious. Great seasonal coffee flavors and baked goods.

N

Great food but The price point is nuts. Three entrees, no appetizers and one beer ran us 100 bucks. Like it’s a hotel lobby restaurant guys. A steak should be 24 not 38.

Had dinner with my kids here. Good space to talk. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was cooked good and tasty. Mocktail of bar keeps choice was fun.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel restaurant, which I usually avoid. A customer wanted to meet there, and that's how I ended up there. First of all, NW Portland is by far favorite part of the city, and one of the only parts that's still worth visiting. Second, the staff here was very friendly. Third, and probably most importantly, the food was quite good. The menu was smallish but interesting, I had a burger that was a little dry until I added some ketchup, but cooked really well. The fries were also good.

J
Jessica Jones

The potatoes that were served with the mustard chicken were cooked to perfection. They were amazing. The chicken itself was tasty, despite the flavor of the mustard being a little strong (that's probably just my personal preference).

This is a hidden gem. Service was great. Enthusiastic and welcoming. Drinks were served swiftly and competently. Menu is conservative but still fun to explore. My club and French fries were satisfying. Was thrilled to see actual chicken meat in my sandwich and not sliced deli meat. Lots of real avocado, bacon and grilled thickly sliced sour dough made it a meal. Beet salad to start was dressed a bit heavily but delicious nonetheless. This is a small space with only me and my 4 comrades and another party about the same size sat directly next to us. Why? Would be nervous to see this place filled as I'd worry about hearing conversation. My friends told me that both servings of garlic fries weren't hot. And my other friend did not get his requested avocado on his burger. Also, we were celebrating a birthday and don't think they serve dessert as none was offered. Also, I assume you can park in motel lot for dining. If so, that's a bonus in NW!

Small portions and high prices. Shakshuka $17 - 2 overcooked eggs in tomato 'gravy' w/toast. Slabtown Hash $20 (online menu says $18) 8 - 1/2" to 3/4" cubes of pork belly, 2 poached eggs, hashbrown potatoes and toast. Cup of "Fresh Brewed Drip Coffee" $5 each. Breakfast for 2 - $47. I'm not sure about my friend but I left hungry... Shakshuka is a very light Breakfast. Service was fantastic, thank you Becca! I don’t recommend Urban Steel.

C
Cesar Lopez

20$ burger was good but it doesn’t come with onion, pickles or tomatoes but it does come with fries.

A
Arshia S

About the Brick chicken: I’m not sure if I had raw bits of chicken or was eating blocks of salt. The overcooked couscous did not help either. The chicken sandwich was at least edible, though the bread was soaked in oil. Positives: The service was on time and the server was friendly
