We ended up hearing the Broadway series. It was an Intimate tent and absolutely mind blowing vocals and musical notes. They sang me happy birthday and I’ll never forget it!! The service and food were amazing before the show. Vongole better than st ambroeus and other places. The manager, Dara was attentive and full of life. She checked in to make sure all was well and so much was going on - it was so nice. Calissa was hands down the best place we went for dinner for our Hamptons girls trip.
Absolute delight. In town for the weekend celebrating our friend’s birthday and the lovely manager went above and beyond for our special day. She was so hospitable and welcoming! Food and ambiance was an A+ as well. Loved the Broadway series they produce on Thursdays. So entertaining!! Just wonderful. Must go!
We had just returned from Mykonos before coming here, and were drawn in by the reference on their website. We have to say, it’s probably the closest American to Greek cuisine we’ve had, so far! The drinks were very authentic (however the bartender had very little knowledge of typical American drinks, FYI). The food was delectable. The atmosphere had a very authentic vibe. The waiters were very attentive, and even brought over a warm blanket to put around my shoulders when they noticed I was cold. Everyone was dressed beautifully and having a great time. We’ll definitely go back the next time we’re in South Fork!
Great Hampton’s spot for Italian food . It was not busy on the Wednesday night we went but I hear on weekends it’s more lively
My daughters baby shower with 60 people was held there less than a week ago and we are still ecstatic about every aspect of the event! My wife and the the mom to be's sister hosted the shower and found the staff, the owner and his partner, and the chef all to be outstanding. The whole place was ours for the baby shower. They were caring, helpful and very professional. The party was held in the midst of torrential downpour but upon entering and being immediately assisted with your coat, you were enveloped in a warm, chic Mediterranean ambiance. The decor was even more beautiful than the pictures show. My wife and daughters would not hesitate to suggest Calissa for dinner out and/or an event.
Wow. I am so sorry we didn't try this place sooner! We had heard good things about Calissa but we didn't expect this. The decor is brilliantly executed. You feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They really know the menu and made some great recommendations. I had the best branzino I have ever had. It was truly perfection on a plate. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked perfectly to the proper temperature. Truly enjoyed every dish from the saganaki and Greek salad to the dessert. I honestly cannot remember the last time I left a restaurant and said "I can't wait to go back". What a neighborhood gem! Cheers!
Went there for a friends birthday. Food was excellent! The lobster pasta was fantastic. Service was exceptional. Our server Ricky went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. They made a very special night for us. Thank you guys, we can’t wait to dine with you again!
What a fantastic restaurant with the cutest outdoor space! We particularly loved the starters, get the mezze sampler! The greek salad was also delicious and so fresh. And, the sommelier was so helpful, patient and accommodating as we navigated through all the Greek wines that were new to us. She helped us select a few bottles that were just fantastic. Would go back and recommend to friends!
Had dinner with our big family tonight and the manager was so accommodating to us although we were extremely late to our reservation. We’d be happy to come back because the service was so good! We ordered double of the calamari and tuna tartar because it was that good :)
Dinner at Calissa in Water Mill feels like a mini escape to the Aegean, great summer vibes. I think it’s inspired by restaurants in Mykonos, and the vibes live up to that. The zucchini chips with tzatziki are a must. For mains, the branzino is a standout—we ordered two for the table and shared. It was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked. The service is warm, and the Greek wine list is impressive for the Hamptons. It definitely gets busy on weekends, especially Friday and Saturday nights. I also liked that the vibe was elevated but not stuffy. 10/10 will be back. My only complaint was that the bathroom line was a little long. But defiantly one of my new summer favorites.
I went here with a group of friends for a bachelorette party and we had the best time! The food and drinks were amazing, and we had fun dancing afterwards. The music was great and it was fun to dance with other groups of bachelorette parties! Really positive fun vibes all around. The servers were fantastic as well and I especially have to give Esteban a shoutout! I lost an earring while dancing and he said he’d keep an eye out for it, and then texted me when he found it and was super helpful coordinating with me to get it back. I really appreciate him going the extra mile to help out with this!
One of the best restaurants I have been to. All of the food was amazing the lobster pasta was the best. Our waiter (Niko) was awesome and made my bachelorette party one of the best nights ive had! The other waiters were awesome and super attentive with water etc. We didn’t feel rushed at all and were able to hangout at our table all night. The music was great and the atmosphere was super fun. We will definitely be back
An absolute and unmissable experience when in the Hamptons. The food, the drinks, the people, the atmosphere - it’s all excellent! There are simply not enough stars to give Calissa!
We recently got married at Calissa and we had the best day ever. First, Calissa is a beautiful venue without any outside decor. And, the food has always been on point, traditional Greek food. Our favorite! But Calissa made it so easy to plan a wedding. From the planning to the preparations, the food and service, everything was excellent. The admin staff were accommodating and the staff on-site treated us like family. Our ceremony outside was beautiful and the cocktails and apps and food kept coming! Several family told us later that we had the best wedding ever and we couldn’t agree more! We thank Calissa for an amazing day!
Had a wonderful dinner here this summer, for the second year in a row. The backyard and even the side outdoor tables are in a beautiful setting, and the inside is very pretty as well. The food is great and the staff is accommodating and warm. Look forward to going back next summer.
Season after season this place gets it right every time, and honestly, I’ve never had an evening here that didn’t feel absolutely awesome! It’s literally the best place in the Hamptons––gorgeous food, drinks, ambience, people, and staff. The space has flow down to an art form. You pull in off Montauk highway, drop your keys with a valet, walk in to hear great music pumping (often curated/DJ-ed by owner James), are greeted by the awesome host staff (perhaps awesome co-partner Tonya), grab a life-changing drink from the perfectly designed circular bar with the friendliest bartender around, walk through a beautifully designed dining room, and make your way out the back door to a classic Hamptons patio and open sky garden. It can get busy in the summer high season of July and August, but with so much space they somehow manage to avoid the stuffy, cramped experience you have at so many other local places. By contrast, here it feels like the more the merrier–this is a high energy place, and people are there to live the good life. I’m often impressed at the fact that they seem to draw a crowd that’s seventeen to seventies, and everybody seems to be having fun. In addition to the regular lunches and family dinners I’ve had here, this place attracts incredible talent, and I’ve heard the Gipsy Kings play here, and on August 1 they’ve got Wyclef Jean! I was lucky enough to get invited to their Summer Soiree which was a super elegant evening. I got to meet the partners James and Tonya, some of the staff Micah(sp) and Jordan, the high energy chef, and the bartender. It’s always a good sign when the people who work at restaurants love spending time at the place….and it turns out James (a partner) is also a superb DJ!!! As for the food, I’ve had nearly everything on the menu, and it’s all delicious….I could literally throw a dart at the menu and love what shows up at the table. That said, their oysters are sublime, the watermelon salad is always perfection, and the Saganaki is like crack in cheese form…I’m addicted! Calissa isn’t inexpensive, but to my mind in the Hamptons where everything is pricey, it’s a great value for the money. Their attention to food, drinks, service, ambience, and attitude make it well worth the sticker price. I recently found out that these partners also own Amali and Juniper in the city, so after summer season closes, I’m looking forward to exploring those places.
Had dinner with a friend last Friday. We loved the atmosphere and look of the restaurant. We had drinks at the bar my friend had the Napoleons secret, very good and I had a glass of red, also good. We ate dinner in the dining room and had a great waiter named Israel. He made some suggestions and we got the Arugula salad, the calamari (very crispy) and the Lemon chicken soup. Loved them all! We then had the Salmon, grilled and the Lamb shank, falling off the bone... We were too full for dessert but he brought over complimentary shots. When we were leaving they had a DJ starting, we were too tired to stay but he said there is music every weekend, we will definitely be back!
Went to this venue/restaurant for a Gorgon City concert. Great atmosphere very intimate small crowd, the venue was in tents outside, but it was not grungy in any way and the atmosphere was very tropical. Crowd was great. Drinks were incredible, they serve pitchers of certain drinks, including margaritas, which is what we got, and it was very good. Didn’t get the food so I can’t read it but we did snack on some french fries and they were great lol
Calissa is an amazing restaurant - the food is exceptional and the ambience is gorgeous. We love eating at Calissa in the fall and winter when the dishes are rustic and hearty. In the spring and summer there is often great entertainment too! I love being able to eat out and savor the food while staying on my Mediterranean diet. I try to eat gluten-free and Calissa is very accommodating with special diets. There aren't a lot of super restaurants in Hamptons, so I keep going back to Calissa where I am always surprised and delighted by the experience.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Calissa for an early dinner with my sister and 2-year-old daughter. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, took all COVID precautions to make our dining experience feel as safe and enjoyable as possible. And that was all before the food. We shared a few mezzes (tzatziki and kafteri) as well as avgolemono for starters, and moved onto the souvlaki chicken and spanikopita (both of which my daughter and I shared), as well as the salmon, greens and Greek fries for my sister. Our waiter was even helpful enough to suggest a glass of Greek wine for my sister, who had never tried it. Everything was wonderful. It was as if I was sitting at my own Yiayia’s table, eating her food. We finished off the meal with a piece of delicious baklava to share (the portion was more than enough for the three of us to split!), and plans to come back again!
I had the best new year celebration I’ve ever had! Great food and after eating, we went to the front for a dance party and it was awesome! Great New Year’s atmosphere!
Beautiful venue with an abundance of Mediterranean style dishes made with light simple flavors and fresh ingredients. Very lively atmosphere and a superb staff. Extensive cocktail list and a great opportunity for group prefix food and drinks. Executive Chef Dominic assures a memorable Hampton dining experience
Arrived pretty late so they just had appetizers. Got: Zucchini chips, Grilled octupus (fav), Crispy calamary (fav), Red shrimp saganaki, Saganaki cheese (fav), Keftedes, Kafteri. Baklava for dessert (not life changing but good). Vibes were good with some all american music, and super nice place. People were very nice
Calissa has such a cozy yet upscale vibe and the staff is always so welcoming and attentive. The Greek salad was incredibly fresh and flavorful and the steak was cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully prepared. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner or a night out with friends!
Calissa is an excellent option and well-priced for the Water Mill area for superb Greek cuisine. The Winter Short Rib entree is delicious, perfectly prepared, and worth the trip if not local. The Saganaki, Calamari, Mezze Platters, sides, and all items tried were delicious and served fresh. The bartender made perfect drinks for all, and timing of the meal was perfect. Israel is a gentlemen as well. Reading some of the reviews, many seem to complain in the high season of some delays in food preparation. Sometimes you should enjoy the ambiance and know your food is prepared fresh, and we look forward to dining at Calissa year round.
Soooo thrilled to have discovered Calissa in Water Mill. It’s honestly one of the best spots out east. The vibe is beautiful with a chic, breezy Hamptons-meets-Mykonos aesthetic that’s cozy yet upscale. When I visited the Chalet this winter, the après-ski lounge vibe completely elevated the night. The mulled wine, fondue by candlelight, and a warm, inviting glow that made it feel like a winter escape. The food was great (love the fresh seafood and mezze), the drinks well curated, and the staff friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for relaxed luxury, seasonal charm, and consistently good food and service — Calissa is worth checking out.
Calissa Chalet offers a truly memorable winter dining experience in the Hamptons. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfectly suited to the season, while the menu features expertly prepared dishes and carefully crafted drinks. Attentive service ensures every visit is seamless, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a cozy, elevated meal during the winter season.
I went to Calissa’s after hearing my friends rave about how amazing it is. The service was fabulous, we literally were on a first name basis with our waiters and bartenders (shout out to Evan, you were phenomenal! I thought the food was above average, and would go back again. Plus, it was my friends birthday and they gave us cake to celebrate. Thanks for the experience!
The food and service at Calissa are unparalleled. Love their wine list, zucchini fritters, langoustine and chicken! Their Select Spritz is a favourite and Tanya made sure we had the best time and were well taken care of along with the rest of the staff at Calissa who are a delight. The warmth, hospitality, vibes, consistently great food and drinks is something we return for year after year! If you go to one restaurant in the Hamptons make sure you stop by Calissa.
Calissa offers a delightful dining experience with its cozy ambiance and friendly, attentive service.. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between casual and refined, making it ideal for a relaxed yet elevated meal. Both the salmon and grilled pork chop stood out--cooked to perfection at the right temperature. The salmon came exact medium rare with crispy skin, and the grilled pork chop was juicy. Both dishes were simple in their preparation but packed with flavor, showcasing the restaurant's skill in letting quality ingredients shine. Overall, a lovely spot that delivers on both taste and service, making it a must-try for those craving a cozy and flavorful Greek dining experience.
Calissa Hamptons is a true find. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by the friendly staff, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between casual and elegant—just right for a night out. The food at Calissa really shines. The Lobster Pasta was a standout, rich, flavorful and satisfying, while the Tuna Crudo was incredibly fresh and delicate. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the Zucchini Chips? Crispy, light, and impossible to stop eating. Pair those with their dip spreads and warm pita, and you’ve got a winning combination. It’s rare to find a place where every dish hits the mark, but Calissa managed to do just that. Whether you're a regular or it's your first visit, you’re in for something special here.
The ambiance was great and so was the service. We were disappointed that both steaks came out more cooked than we would have preferred, we ordered MR. For $48 each, were thought they were pretty bland and forgettable. Not to the point of complaining because we were hungry but it could have been better. By contrast, the apps were fantastic, specifically the octopus and the yellowfin crudo, I thought both were amazing and I don't typically like seafood. The avocado tzatziki was also memorable. I love an espresso martini but I thought this version was a little too bitter or coffee forward, it needed better balance.
My sister and I had an amazing time at Calissa this weekend. They were able to accommodate my two-year-old niece and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure she had a nice night. We sat in the inside dining area which was beautiful with lots of colorful decorations to play "I Spy" with! We started out with tzatziki and kafteri dips. Both were insane and we had enough to bring home to snack on later! We split the avgolemono soup and it had a lot more sustenance than I'm used to, but it was perfect and is now a new favorite style. My niece had the spanakopita and Greek fries for dinner and ate both up which is quite the compliment. My sister opted for the chicken souvlaki platter and said she loved it. I had the perfectly cooked salmon with a side of sautéed Horta greens and I'm still thinking about it. We finished our meal off with some baklava (which I've been craving for months) and it met every expectation I had. Overall Calissa is a lovely place to have a meal with family and friends, no matter their age!
Went 8/4. Food was AMAZING(other than prawns). That said female bartender closest to restaurant front entrance did not advise gratuity was included and clearly purposely did not provide me with the itemized receipt. Completely unethical and a shame for the reputation of the restaurant. Happened with all my friends separately when they went to her at bar
It was my first time going and the meal hit the spot. My brother and I had a bunch of appetizers and shared the chicken entree. The fluke crudo was unique and tasty. The watermelon salad was so fresh. Our chicken was classic, and extremely flavorful. We went on a Monday when only a few other people were dining so service was excellent and fast. Definitely would go back!
I visited Calissa Hamptons during the Suffolk Restaurant week and had their 3 course Fixed Menu for $44 / person. My appetizer (baked clams) and main course (Hanger Steak) were very good, but the dessert (baklava) failed my test... They have several Greek beers, but I find them to be pricey. I probably had the most expensive beer of my life for $16.
Loved my dinner! Such a great treat. Hidden gem. First time eating there after all these years in the Hamptons. 🤣 Beet hummus is delicious, the Burrata Pasta is a must! The carrot quinoa side is so good with the Branzino! However i made a joke about the stripped bass crudo...because i couldnt really see any bass. Lol. They also have an 18% Admin fee. I loved the atmosphere and they accepted Apollo. 💘 Will be back again!
The food was wonderful! But it was so loud and the service was subpar. They forgot several things and for the price that shouldn't happen. The acoustics in the restaurant need some work. We couldn't hear the person next to us at the table and it just made it a bit difficult. But the food was wonderful!!
Calissa is a Greek style restaurant located in the heart of the Hamptons. Featuring an array of seafood dishes, Calissa’s menu focuses on seafood and Greek dishes such as baked fish, steak, seafood pasta and cold mezze. From the appetizers to the main course, all dishes were well prepared and had excellent flavor/texture. I will note that I personally enjoyed the mezze and appetizers more than the main courses. The wine selection was extraordinary featuring a wide range of options for every palate. Overall the atmosphere was great and the service was as expected. If you are in the area, Calissa is worth checking out.
Good place to check out, but not great. Although the potential is there. Really like the atmosphere and decor, along with the outdoor seating. Branzino was good. And the horta with roasted garlic was great! Traditionally topped with lemon, salt, and olive oil. So the garlic was a pleasant surprise. Saganaki was disappointing, came out ice cold. Didn’t care for the sesame seeds, although the fig jam was a nice touch. Wine is overpriced, as is most of the menu. Didn’t care for the 18% “Admin Fee” either. Didn’t notice it at the bar where we were forced to order a food item to get a drink. So the bartender made out well. But did make sure to check at the end of the meal, and sure enough it was on there as well. Would really give 3.5 stars if I could, but that “admin fee” left a bad taste in my mouth.
This restaurant is only okay. The food is very Americanized and pretty pricey for what it is. For that price I've eaten at 5 star restaurants with famous chefs. You are more paying for the exclusivity of being in the Hamptons rather than quality that you would hope big money can grant you. Another aspect to consider is that I went in summer and inside the restaurant was very hot. I would say almost 80 degrees indoors. For 300 dollars I expect better.
Good appetizers, greek salad was sub par, with a feta block paper thin, otherwise delicious starters. However, that “chocolate cake” was straight out of Stop and Shop down the street. They can do better and they should.
Limited choices. Food in a very empty restaurant arrives cold. Small portions. Spicy Kafteri was not spicy and soggy. 4 glasses of wine vs the bottle of wine did not make sense. $68 vs $77? Service was exceptional but not knowledgeable. They really tried. Hope they can get together before the season starts.
It’s purely a scene, don’t come here for the food. The greek salad is obviously the best. Zucchini chips are good too but overly salty. This place turns into a club and only has two bathrooms so you have to wait like 15 min to go to the bathroom. The service also leaves much to be desired. A waiter came over, asked us if we were done, we said no we are still working, and he proceeded to clear our plates. We had only been eating for less than an hour at that point and it was only about 8:30 so I’m not sure why they were trying to usher us out so fast. They continued to be pushy and rushy the entire time we were there. At one point I had to swat the server’s hand away from my plate as I was still holding my silverware. Long story short, their staff needs training. The spicy mezcal drink was good but don’t get the pitcher it’s watered down.
Considering all the positive reviews of this place- our group was really excited for our meals here. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed by the atmosphere and the staff. From the moment we checked in the host/hostess was in complete disarray as if they’ve never seated a party of people before. They initially sat us at too small of a table and then proceeded to not fix their mistake for about 20 minutes while they discussed what to do with our group. It really put a damper on the mood and the sour attitude from the host staff really continued through the evening. I’d also like to note that the tables they use for their outdoor seating are folding tables that rock and have literally not support whatsoever. Honestly the food was just okay- it’s nothing to rave home about which is super disappointing considering the amount of money you spend here. At the time we went as well- there were literally only three bathroom stalls available for the entire restaurant to use which created long lines. I would suggest passing on this restaurant and spending your money somewhere else. The money is not worth it and you can a better experience with better food elsewhere.
Been here several times before and really enjoyed the previous staff I had met and the food. Came in the winter and enjoyed it a lot less-food was not fresh, which I get working in the restaurant business especially during cold weather. As someone who has bartended for years I always make sure to tip 20% or more always, but this time a 17% gratuity was added to my check? When I dined alone? I found it weird when I hadn’t had that happen to me before and it felt off when the server had also asked me if I had been there before. The bar top was also especially sticky considering the restaurant was basically empty. Hopefully it was a one off tn, I always enjoyed stopping by here w my dog!
Calissa has decent food, but nothing extraordinary. The ambiance felt a bit awkward, and the service could definitely be more attentive. We went during an early hour, so the place was pretty quiet. Overall, the food is fine and worth another try, but I’m hoping for a better experience next time.
My family and I came for Mother’s Day brunch for the first time. The food was great, but unfortunately, we ran into issues that impacted our overall experience. First, I found it strange that the whole table has to opt into the unlimited drink deal or no one can. What if someone is sober or just doesn’t want it? Then, our drink order was messed up, which ended up wasting more time and money, so it felt like we should’ve been offered the bottomless drinks to begin with. The appetizers were delicious. We ordered the crispy calamari, zucchini chips, and mezze plate. Everyone got a mix of dishes for entrees, and the gyros were definitely a hit. The shakshuka, however, was just okay, and I had to ask for the pita that was supposed to come with it. They also forgot my grandfather’s dish entirely, so he didn’t get his food until the rest of us had finished. Finally, they brought us the bill without asking if we wanted dessert, which made us feel rushed. I understand it was Mother’s Day, but the service was not up to par. I’d recommend this place for the food, but just be aware that the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes, which we expected, but better service would have made the experience feel more worth it.
The service was good but the food was terrible! They say its little mykanos but only a handful of greek dishes. I had a strip steak, octopus, greek salad . The greek salad was the only good thing. Octopus was slimy, steak cooked good but quality was tuff like chewing on a tire. There was also several apps on our table that were not impressive at all.Seating was crammed and people keep bumping into you . Bad table setup. This place is a no no for the food and especially the price with an 18 percent administrative fee. By the way 2 hours to get main dish. It's not an experience I wish I dont have to go through again. It gets 2 stars because the people are nice.
What a terrible disappointment. We ate here once before and enjoyed it. But last night was so awful. We booked for outside. They said they couldn't promise but would do what they could. When we arrived, for a birthday celebration with 2 other friends, we were told that the patio was not open during the week. Seriously? They seated us on the outdoor space on the highway side but it was a far cry from what we thought we were requesting. As for the food, some of it was simply mediocre. Some of it was very tasty. Tuna requested rare came well done. As for service, waiter had difficulty explaining whether the tuna was prepared according to all of the fish listed on the menu-it wasn't-it had a totally different preparation. The waiter tried to make us feel accommodated and comped a slice of cake at the end. Very very pricey and not what the menu you can find online says. As for authenticity, parmigiano and what seemed like canned lack olives on the "Greek fries"?? Really?? All in all, we will never return.
Atmosphere of the backyard was great. Service was terrific as well. For the price, however, the food was pretty basic. Mains are served without any sides or sauces at all. Got served a steak with a roasted pepper and thats it. For the price, I’d expect a terrific piece of meat (steakhouse quality) or some mashed potatoes or some peppercorn sauce to accompany it. Instead felt like I was forcing a piece of dry steak down. Salads were super basic. One salad was a bowl of arugula with a few figs. Appetizers included some store quality spreads (out of the 5-6 spreads) only 1 was any good. Drinks were ok. Ordered a few pitchers and they gave us dirty reusable plastic cups. For that money, could’ve gotten some actual cocktail glasses. Overall was a good experience, but not worth the price.
Party of 6 on 5/25/25 for dinner; waited 10 minutes to get reserved table/ restaurant was half filled. 1. Waiter could not pronounce most words from menu in English so understood 2. Left the calamari appetizer plate on table until 3 minutes before we left… all during the main course & dessert 3. Ordered 4 medium steaks & 1 medium pork chop entrees: 1 steak came raw inside & all 5 steak knives were dull so had to literally tear the food vs cutting it (so dull no marks could be even left on forearm!), asked for replacements and got 3… also all dull! 4. Ordered an alcoholic cocktail; was never asked if I wanted a 2nd one 5. Food over-priced by about 20-25% even vs similar restaurants in the Hamptons
You walk into a beautiful restaurant but end up leaving hungry. Small meals and not shareable sides. Deceiving by the beautiful atmosphere Also a forced valet - unexpected
Calissa Hamptons is a robbery The food here is ridiculously mediocre/bad before even considering the price. The only “good” thing we had was an eggplant dish with bread and a greek salad (what a hard dish to make) but besides that the food was horrible. The chicken was so dry I was left coughing at some points and the swordfish had a consistance akin to a tire. It also felt as if the waiters were trying to get us out as fast as possible, even asking to take away our food while we were eating it! With mediocre service, high prices, and overall bad food I definitely would not recommend coming here.
I can not personally talk about the restaurant or the food but I can definitely talk about their bar and management. It was my first time here and I came with people that completely adore this place and have been coming for que while now. I was very much disappointed. The music was amazing, I actually felt like in my home country but in 2010. The drinks were good but nothing crazy. Overpriced like any other Hampton area and small drinks as well. Bartenders are there just to make a drink, not to make a connection. I personally do not like that, specially if I’m coming from top bars like Farna Hotel. The person who I believed was the manager (blonde, kinda big body, in a suit) came by and asked one of my colleagues if she was drinking water, after that she mentioned to the bartender to not serve us more and cut her bill…. I mean, who does that? No one was drunk, no one was getting into a fight or argument, it was just 5 people trying to have a good time after a long weekend of work. Act after that, I see how they cut someone else off the bar with no real reason…. I don’t know. I just feel like this is weird, and if I come back is because I will be coming with friends but not because I will recommend. Please work on your hospitality and put those laps higher!
Our groups visit to Calissa was underwhelming. Despite having a reservation, our table wasn’t ready when we arrived. The staff seemed disorganized and had to scramble to set us up in their strange outdoor tent area, which felt more like an afterthought than a premium setting. Once seated, service began well. The waiter offered drinks quickly and they arrived promptly. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. We ordered the prix fixe menu, and every dish felt like basic Sysco-level catering. Nothing stood out. Everything tasted aggressively average, which might be acceptable at a lower price point, but not here. The bill came out to around $2,000 for a group of 11. For the Hamptons, that’s not shocking, but it certainly wasn’t worth it. Calissa might be fine for a one-time experience, but it offers nothing memorable or exciting. We won’t be returning.
The best part of the dinner was the outdoor seating, though it was quite congested and hard to walk to the restroom between all the tables. The food was just mediocre— would have expected a lot more for the price point. Unfortunately we were served not one, but two dishes, that contained a specified allergy ingredient (second was after sending back one dish already). Manager put the blame on the server, though the table saw her write down the allergy. None of the 8 of us will be going back.
My 2 girlfriends and I decided to come to Calissa on a Saturday night, and it was a very poor experience. I would caution anyone considering Calissa to beware. We had a reservation for 7pm and were told to wait at the bar and that we’d be seated shortly. After about 30 mins passed and every party that walked in seemed to be seated almost immediately, we checked with the hostesses multiple times to see the status of our table. They made it seem like it would be any minute each time, but we weren’t seated until 1 hour after our reservation time with no apologies or any part of our meal/drinks comped. Ultimately we were seated in their outdoor area under this tent that faced the porta potties, as presumably this area turns into a dance scene later in the night. There was a ton of seating, and the tables were packed in, which made us question why it took us (a party or 3) so long to get seated. There were multiple bachelorette groups, so it was rather loud and overwhelming. Also, there were so many mosquitoes, and I went home with over 5 bites on my ankles. Suffice it to say, the entire atmosphere felt anxiety-inducing and not enjoyable in the slightest. The only redeeming part of our meal was the appetizers (zucchini chips, crudo, and saganaki). Our waiter recommended we get 2 entrees to share among us, and we got the salmon and the chicken — both of which I probably could have whipped up in my own kitchen with minimal effort. The entrees didn’t even come with a side, so we ordered the $16 lemon potatoes, which came to us cold and with about 6 small potato wedges. For as expensive as the food was, it was very average and the portions were very small. Horrible value, and they include 20% gratuity in the bill regardless! We left as soon as we had finished our meal and it wasn’t soon enough. We should have left when it took 1 hour to get seated for our reservation. None of us will be returning here, and I would strongly advise against dining at Calissa.
Place had a hip vibe. Service was attentive at the start then as it got busier the service dropped off. Chicken was average. Shared large fish for $110 was not adequate. Ended up ordering more food. Kitchen on two occasions paid no mind to an allergy at the table. Waitress tried to handle. Manager was not called over. Overall disappointed.
If I could give a restaurant 0 stars it would be here. A terrible experience, terrible service, terrible people. My wife made a reservation for a table. We sat down and went to order apps first, we were told we can’t do that. I said that’s okay we’re going to have a few apps and drinks. I was told we cant do that you have to order everything at once. I said that’s okay we’re eating apps and drinks and we’ll be gone. Apparently that wasn’t allowed (doesn’t say that in ANY fine print). Brought over the manager who said the owner is requiring full meals/ apps etc to be seated. I asked for him to tell me because ??? Says who. He came over in the most disrespectful manner, saying we’d need to order full meals because it’s a “holiday weekend”. WHAT A JOKE. We were fully prepared to spend $150-200 on apps and drinks. I asked the owner if that wasn’t enough money to sit here? He MADE A HUGE STINK ABOUT IT. He’s like “this is how I feed my kids” are you trying to say I’m “greedy”? He walked us out over this. Made a huge stink in the whole restaurant. There were literally 12-15 EMPTY tables. What an absolute joke. Service is service and this place has none. I wouldn’t spend 5 dollars here. I wouldn’t spend a $1000 dollars here. NOT WORTH A DIME. Give your money to people who understand this is a service industry.
If I could give zero stars I would. I don’t even know where to begin to speak on how poor our experience was here. Regardless of how busy or what weekend it was we decided to come here for my best friend bachelorette, in which we made the reservations prior. We had to adjust our reservations to accommodate one additional person which bumped our reservation even later. We previously called to update as we booked the original reservation online, no one discussed any type of pre fixed menu. We understand it might of stated that on the website but when you are updating to the “threshold” of prefix which is 10 people someone should confirm that change when a person is making an update as we might of missed or did not see that on the website. We had a few of our ladies that have specific allergies, when given the menu we saw prefixed and asked the waiter, he immediately grabbed a “manager”. She was rude, uptight and was a robot as she had no type of personality to understand the confusion nor take ownership. Her response was it’s “Memorial Day weekend”. After reviewing the menu to try to make sense and give our bride the best dinner, we were told they were out of 3 major dishes. The “manager” was not willing to make any type of accommodation. Another woman came by which must of been the manager and was a delight and very approachable. We later ask to speak again (I’m leaving majority of details out) and we find out the original woman was the so called “owner”. She was absolutely the most rudest woman, very robotic and had nothing to say as I’m sure she doesn’t care a table of 10 walking out because the next money was standing at the bar waiting to be seated. We ended up leaving and not ordering a damn thing as we did not want to give her a penny of our money. We went to a different restaurant who was so accommodating, gave us champagne on the house and made up for our night and our brides night. Do not recommend, everyone has their own experience but this was our first time and last.
Hampton clip joint: 1) Valet on a gravel driveway - causes confusion more than aids in parking. All so a few insecure men can have their daddy’s cars parked out front 2) Service - hostesses eyed my partner walking in and gave her dirty looks. Being 15min early was met with attitude even though the restaurant was empty. It’s 18% gratuity no matter how you are treated. Also, who doesn’t love being seated in a main walkway when they are the only ones in the place?! A 2 hour seating was 37min. Listen I’ve been to good places my whole life, I can even get past mediocre food for a good dining experience, but having undercooked food come out 10min after sitting down was alarming - I’ve never been to a place that tried to push me out the door at 5:45pm 3) Food - 28$ Vegetable Platter is 6 small and overcooked slices of veggies - Sparkling water is offered without being told it is 12$ extra (14$ thank you auto-tip). Salmon comes in a block with a cold gooey centre even after explicit instructions to cook it “very well done”. A La Carte is meant to inspire you to choose one of a few sides which are 14$ or so a piece. It wouldn’t be a problem if the price resembled the taste or the portion sizes. It’s the opposite. Expensive food should bring value to the meal - not a single thing we ate was remotely worth the price. You will leave there hungry and disappointed. Avoid at ALL COSTS!
Drinks were not very good, we were not given our itemized receipt, so we tipped an additional 20% on top of the 18% administration fee. One of the workers kept playing with the lights throughout the night, at one point the entire restaurant was dark and we had to complain. We had to ask for our wine four times before it was brought to us. The servers dropped a huge armful of plates and then 20 minutes later a huge tray of glasses. Everything was mediocre at best, except for the branzino, which was truly wonderful. The music was blaring and the bathroom situation was so bad. The floor was wet, no paper towels, no toilet paper, only three unisex stalls with the sinks in the stalls, so it takes forever, even with a shorter line. Our bill was over $800 for six people.
The atmosphere is nice and very well decorated. I went with a group with the pre fixe menu. Honestly, everything except the Greek salad was trash. I couldn’t tell for sure but I’m fairly certain the staff uses well liquor in the pitchers. The audacity to charge over $100 per pitcher for WELL LIQUOR. The staff was also a hot mess. I will let that go since they just opened and it can justifiably be overwhelming. I definitely wouldn’t dine here again, maybe go for drinks or a night out but almost $200 per person for trash was annoying. I recommend you spend your money on halfway decent food and not here.
We booked the $95/person pre fixed menu - when the check came, they charged us $185/person. They claimed we booked the “bachelorette dinner”, - we couldn’t even find that option online, AND we had text proof that we had booked the normal prefixed menu. We had a great experience up until it felt like they were completely ripping us off.
Overall experience was good EXCEPT a disgusting "security friend of James" disrespected women and guests in our party. Wait/ host staff was wonderful. Our special needs guest was practically verbally assaulted by this man for "having a staring problem." After he cornered our special needs guest on the bathroom line and had an exchange of words with his sister he then ran to the wonderful hostess who came to resolve the situation. They handled it with absolute grace. Whoever this supposed "security friend of James" is an absolute disgusting human and I truly hope he does not represent the owner and his staff. Left an absolute awful taste in the entire parties mouth aside from the wonderful women that handled the situation.
Ruined my birthday! Don't expect to order fish and get a full fish. Greek salad was definitely left over. The calamari had only heads with Buffalo sauce. I've never been to such a low service and rude owner restaurant. Not even an apology! Highly recommend you to avoid this place.
Terrible service. We were a group of 10 split up in 2 tables and they forced both tables to order the same dishes. We were fine ordering the large party prix fixe but wanted one prix fixe order for each table (ie 5 people eating the same meal). There was nothing we could do to change their minds. Had we booked 2 tables separately that would have been totally fine. Totally unacceptable when you’re paying $95pp.
$36 for the smallest most bland piece of salmon. placed on a lg plate without any sides. ordered md rare, received it basically raw. Had to ask for the $24 drink twice when there were only a handful of other tables. It was half full. Will not be back. You’ll leave hungry after paying a $300 bill. Music is incredibly loud in the evening.
I pre-purchased drinks for a table to surprise my girlfriend at her cousin’s bachelorette party. Now, I understand that drinks in the Hamptons aren’t exactly budget-friendly—but charging a mandatory 25% gratuity to walk out two pitchers? That’s borderline robbery. The two pitchers came out to just over $200. The tip for someone carrying them 30 feet was nearly the cost of a third pitcher. That’s not service—that’s theater. But fine, that’s not even the main issue. The process of pre-ordering through their website was a headache (seriously, it felt like applying for a mortgage), but it worked. My card was charged, confirmation received, and all was well—or so I thought. Fast forward to the party: they tried to charge the table again—the full $270+—as if I hadn’t already paid. So now I look like the guy who said he bought the first round but actually didn’t. Not only did it kill the experience, it also could’ve led to the table being charged over $540 for two average-sized pitchers. Look—everyone makes mistakes. But accountability in the service industry is everything. Instead, they were met with attitude from the staff, and when the manager came over, they shrugged off the false charge like it was no big deal. I followed up after the fact to express my concerns, they said they would get back to me and—shocker—weeks later, still no response. I get that the Hamptons has limited spots, but honestly? Save your money, grill some burgers at home, and skip the privilege of tipping 25% for mediocrity.
It is with great disappointment writing this review because I had gone in with high expectations being an "upscale" Mediterranean spot in the Hamptons, however it was anything but upscale. I had gone with a group of 10+ women for a bachelorette dinner/party. The service slowed down as the night went on and a lot of mistakes with our drinks occurred, such as bringing our drinks to a different bachelorette party and then when asked where the drinks were the waiter proceeded to go over to take back the drinks he gave to the other girls to give back to us. When it was time to eat our entrees the lights were completely closed and we were eating some of the pricier items from the menu in the complete dark and were then very quickly asked if we wanted the items packed up --it all felt very rushed. I was then asked by wait staff for my CC to closeout without being given an itemized receipt. You would think that at a place that is raved about with such high prices and a bill paid over $2K would warrant a round of shots for a table of ladies as good measure but nothing. There were so many tables left open under the tent where many women got up to dance to music played by a sub-par DJ and we had to ask the waiters to move some around to give us space. After exactly 1 hour of dancing we were told we had to move inside as they were cleaning up. We then transitioned to small corner by the inside DJ to continue the party. It was extremely hot and poorly ventilated. After some time the DJ from outside continuously was coming up to only our party insisting that we need to "relocate" so he can sell tables for bottle service. He had no area to relocate our party that just spent a significant amount of money at the restaurant. When asked to speak to the manager the said DJ said he was the owner. So now the DJ was the bottle service man/table organizer/manager/owner all wrapped in one (yea okay). When questioned and met with refusal to leave, he proceeded to give horrible attitude and showed immense amount of unprofessionalism. It is safe to say that I 100% do not recommend this place and please save your time and money & go somewhere else to celebrate such once in lifetime occasions!
If I could give zero stars, I would. We came for a bachelorette and were treated like a burden from the start. After ordering about 15 appetizers, the owner came over and told us we couldn’t stay for another round because we “only got appetizers.” We were rushed out in under an hour. The manager never acknowledged us, and most of the staff was cold—except Esteban, who was kind. I’ve lived in the area for years, and this was by far one of the rudest, most unwelcoming restaurant experiences I’ve had. I’ll never be back and won’t recommend it to anyone.
I came here for a bachelorette dinner and was not thrilled with my experience. As a Greek American, the food was just decent as Greek cuisine. We sat outside and were dancing for exactly one hour (10-11pm was all the dj played outside for) until they turned the music off and had us all cram inside where there was no AC or fresh air circulating. It was hard to breathe and we had to ask the staff multiple times to open doors for us to let air in. After a while of dancing, the "dj/manager/owner" (this is how he described himself to us) asked us to move because he needed to put a table down for a new party. We argued and said that our group was celebrating an event, just spent 3k on dinner were not feeling welcome. The manager was yelling in our faces (including the bride to be) until his face turned red and we decided to leave. Very unprofessional and unorganized. I will never return to this establishment. Side note: all the other poor reviews say similar things, and the owner/mananger/dj comments on them with a tone that is almost mocking his customers. And if you’re going to leave a review, make sure not to hit them with a hyperbole or he will “take it with a grain of salt” as many of his responses say. Just shows the level of his unprofessionalism right in front of our faces. Hopefully one day he takes his reviews seriously and changes the way they run the establishment.
If you think you’re going to get the food quality and service you get at other Greek restaurants that do it best like Kyma, Anassa, and Lymani, think again! As a Greek that cooks herself, food was not good. The servers had to be constantly waved down just to order a drink and then they gave our drinks to another table and tried to take it back from them after they already took a sip. The DJ was BAD! No transitions between songs and played songs that most people didn’t know. The DJ happened to be the manager too and has a napoleon complex. He got into my friend’s face after he demanded her to move from a spot she was dancing in because he wanted to put a table down. And to top it all off, THERES NO AIR CONDITIONER INSIDE! So they make you go inside at 11pm and no air is circulating. We had to ask 5 times before anyone opened up a door. When you are spending $30 a drink in the hamptons and $3k just on dinner, they should be up to par for what the luxury of the hamptons is.
Relative to how expensive this place is, this is probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Multiple issues from the food to the staffing that make this place terrible. To start we ordered drinks off the menu and wanted to substitute vodka for rum and were informed that the drinks cannot be changed in any way. For $21 a drink, you should be able to sub whatever you want. Any place in NYC would let you do that. The apps were fine, would recommend the tuna crudo but the octopus was very tough. The main courses were not worth it at all. We got the steak which was charred and had no seasoning, just a big serving of melted butter on top. Steaks just need to be properly salted and they couldn't even get that right. The lobster pasta was underwhelming especially for the price, again not really well seasoned but did have a good amount of lobster meat. Finally and worst of all was the bathroom situation. Every single woman on line complained about how disgusting they were. They literally looked like a college bar bathroom at 2am in the morning Absolutely gross and something I’ve never seen from a place that tries to market itself as a high-end restaurant.
Went with 3 girlfriends for dinner on a Saturday night. Ordered a bottle of wine and bottle was placed far away from the table is a frequent walking area. Our wine glasses were constantly completely dry because no one ever returned to pour the wine nor could we get it ourselves. The food took absolutely forever. We never saw our waiter after we ordered. Was not a crazy busy time where they could not ever check on us. When we asked about the food, we were met with attitudes and confusion. Upon finally receiving after waiting at least 1+ hr, we were missing items and the steak was extremely rare. We could not find the waiter yet again to rectify the issue. They did not apologize or bother to satisfy the customer. Will never go back.
Just had dinner with my parents thinking that I was taking them to a nice place with good food. So so disappointing - we ordered the special black bass which they claimed was grilled and the red snapper also grilled. They came soupy and cold and anything but what you would expect to see grilled. Complained and manager came over and all she could say was I will let the Chef know. Well I would not go there if you want fresh fish $850 later sick to my stomach and disgusted with that place and their attitude. Never again
We were excited when we initially sat down, but that excitement quickly faded due to our servers being very uninviting and demonstrating poor demeanor. When our food finally arrived, it wasn’t that great. Toward the end of the night, there was a misunderstanding regarding a birthday cake with a candle. We requested to speak to the manager, who clarified the confusion and offered complimentary shots for the table. We ordered a slice of cake and waited over 15 minutes for the cake and candle but never received the complimentary shots. When I asked about it, the manager said he decided not to bring the shots because our server said we didn’t order drinks. This didn’t make sense since the manager had spoken to someone at our table. His response was that he didn’t want to be held to a favor that was complimentary, even though the shots were offered to us. Overall, it was an uncomfortable dining experience. James- manger. You should stick to your word. Don’t offer a complimentary service and then take it back. That’s not how it works.
had a great meal here during a bachelorette weekend (and we were happy to deal with the too-high price tag) until the owner of the restaurant backed into one of our cars in the parking lot ??? he is now ignoring our messages and evading calls from the insurance company despite having promised several times he’d “send insurance info tomorrow” (weeks ago)
Others warned us before we came but we figured every place has an off night. Will not be back and do not recommend. I can only imagine how many have the same experience and just don’t make a review. Apps were ok. Entrees came out cold and were reheated. They gave us the a weird chunky part of the swordfish that was dried out and tasteless. Meanwhile the person next to us got a swordfish steak (how it’s usually prepared). Grilled veggies and halloumi were not even warm. How do you serve halloumi cheese like a brick? Instead of the manager saying “I’m sorry let me check that for you” he went back and forth. Very surprised they are still standing.
I ordered an old-fashioned with Woodford reserve they said they didn’t have any then I asked for the well whiskey and one vodka and they gave me a bill of $187. When I told the manager she says oh he gave you the most expensive whiskey two drinks at $187 just didn’t make any sense so she charged me 80. Then I paid $20 for the Mexican drink for my wife and by 12 o’clock the drink went up to $38. They charge whatever they want tips are included so they can make more money if they be more professional and keep their prices consistent maybe they wouldn’t get this review. Be aware of ordering drinks from this place. They will keep going up all night.
Terrible!!! Had my husband’s birthday dinner there a few weeks ago. In Greek salad main ingredient was red onion, $110 grilled snapper was completely cold and tasteless. Then we order baklava it was completely cold and not fresh, we send it back it was worst food out east. Service was great and set up is very authentic, but terrible food and very $$$
Absolutely awful experience — do NOT come here for any special occasion. Came here for a bachelorette party, and from the moment we walked in, we were treated like an inconvenience. The staff was rude, dismissive, and clearly rushing us through the entire meal — barely gave us time to order before they were already dropping hints about turning the table over. No hospitality, no warmth, no basic courtesy. We were excited to celebrate, but their attitude killed the vibe. We spent good money to be treated like a burden. Total waste. Would never recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy their time — especially not for a celebration.
Very stuck-up vibes from the moment I walked in. I ordered a steak and a side, but they didn’t give me a steak knife—had to wait about 10 minutes just to get one. On top of that, they completely forgot my side. When I asked for my side they gave me the wrong side as a replacement. at that point, I gave up on trying. The steak itself was bland and overcooked. Definitely not worth the price or the attitude. Disappointing experience.
The noise level inside the restaurant (vs the outside terrace) was deafening rendering conversation impossible. Food was good, service was OK but nothing special--rending the overall experience a BIG NEGATIVE. Will never return and advise all not to either.
I am astonished by the lack of customer service I experienced. I was given $175 worth of gift cards that expire on January 31st. Your location was closed for the first week of January, and when I attempted to come in last night, you were closed despite Google listing you as open. When I came in today, I was denied the ability to use the gift cards as intended. Nowhere on the gift cards does it state that only one may be used per transaction. My food had already been prepared and packaged, yet I was forced to limit my order due to an internal wording or policy issue that was never disclosed.
The restaurant served attitude via the awful host He was confrontational and rude to everyone We paid $115 each for new years activity and he was so awful we left and stayed home He has emotional issues. Maybe trouble at home. Maybe small problems. You know what I mean. Haha Anyways, we love the place and order food all the times. No more All he had to do was not freak out. Pressure is a privilege. For him pressure was like a stent in his heart that was pulsating and waiting like his next heart attack. Yes, I am calling him a bit chonky like my puppy I have opened 50 restaurants in 5 country. This person is not good for business
First time ever in my life leaving a review. We dined at Calissa as a party of five. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet service was extremely poor. Our server checked on us only a few times, offered no beverage refills, and when food arrived, the runner did not know where dishes were going. We were celebrating a birthday and requested dessert with a candle, which never happened. A mandatory 20% gratuity was added without any verbal notice or menu disclosure. We have no issue paying 20% when service warrants it—but in this case, it did not. We asked management to remove the gratuity due to the poor service, and the request was refused. Family traveled a long distance to dine here, making the experience especially disappointing. Future guests should be aware of the service level and undisclosed charges.
