Niukee Shumai Albee Square Reviews
I love their lamb shumai so much! The beef stew was also heavenly. Everything was so tasty and price was good for the portion too. Shumai is very authentic, I’ll go back!
If there’s one thing you need to know about this place: eat everything while it’s hot. Every bite is insanely juicy. 🥟 Lamb & scallion shumai:must-order if you’re into lamb. Super fragrant, zero gamey smell. Honestly my #1 favorite here. 🥟 Beef & onion shumai:perfect if it’s your first time. The beef is savory and the onion adds a slight sweetness, lighter and more approachable than the lamb. 🥟 Fried chive pocket:crispy on the outside, super juicy inside. I literally took a bite and the soup just poured out
The Northern-style shumai here is absolutely delicious. The filling is juicy and flavorful, with a perfect balance of seasoning and texture. The wrapper is thin yet satisfying, just like the authentic version from the North. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving traditional, handmade dumplings done right.
Stumbled upon niukee Shumai by chance and was seriously impressed! The shumai are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly wrapped with thin skins and generous fillings. You can really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience very pleasant. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
The food was absolutely amazing—it tasted just like my childhood. I ordered the beef soup with six shao mai, and it was such a good value for the portion size. There was so much meat in the soup! Even the complimentary Chinese-style kimchi was delicious. The owner was incredibly generous and packed me extra to-go after hearing how much I enjoyed it. They are such kind people. I would highly recommend this place to friends and will definitely be coming back again soon!
Great spot for authentic Northeastern Chinese food near Chinatown. The beef bone soup was perfect for a cold day—warming and comforting. The lamb and vegetarian shumai were fresh and flavorful, and the lion’s head meatball rice bowl tasted very home-style. Even my friend from Harbin said it reminded her of home. Simple, honest food that I’d happily come back for.
I just bought it casually to try it, but I was directly fans🥹 in one bite 🥟 SiuMai body The filling is super solid and the meat is very clean. The most amazing thing is - it's not greasy at all and you won't feel burdened after eating it 🔥 Taste focus The soup in the whole meat is chicken soup. The meat juice is just right when you bite into it The seasoning is not too salty, and it is enough to eat alone Served with soy sauce, directly upgraded 💯 🥒 Sesame Cucumber | Refreshing and addictive classic cold dish Cucumber with mustard sauce is a super popular cool side dish. It seems simple, but it has a rich layer of flavor. The sesame sauce is rich and smooth, with a slight nutty flavor Garlic + a little vinegar, balance the oily feeling, the more you eat the more appetizing 🍽 Paired with ✅ SiuMai is simply perfect 🤗 I honestly think Niukee shumai is that kind of thing The type of "eat once, will silently repurchase" Friends who are in or going to New York, if you are also a Shumai lover, you must try it quickly‼ ️
Absolutely loved this place! The shumai were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly steamed. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and everything came out hot and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast even during busy hours. The shop is clean, cozy, and has a really inviting vibe. I’ll definitely come back again — highly recommend to anyone who loves good dim sum!
Authentic, delicious food with incredibly fresh ingredients. Everything is handmade on the spot, and the beef bone broth is simmered entirely from raw ingredients — you can really taste the depth and richness. I highly recommend the fresh shrimp & pork siu mai, and personally I also really enjoy the lamb-flavored siu mai — the ingredients taste exceptionally fresh. The dine-in environment is clean, cozy, and welcoming. A wonderful place for genuinely authentic flavors.
I heard the shumai here is from Inner Mongolia, so my expectations were a bit higher. The taste, however, didn’t quite live up to that. The biggest issue is that it’s too salty, to the point where other flavors are hard to notice. On the bright side, the dumplings are juicy and the wrappers are thin and light. If the seasoning were less salty, they would actually be quite good.
stumbled across this spot and I’m so glad I did! The shaomai are absolutely delicious – juicy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. But the real surprise was the cabbage salad – super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and addictive in the best way. It’s simple, but honestly one of the tastiest sides I’ve had in a long time. The menu may not be huge, but everything feels thoughtfully done. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving comforting, well-made food.
I got the cucumber with sesame sauce and the lamb shumai. The cucumber was a great appetizer, light and crispy, and the lamb shumai were so tasty! Very flavorful, good broth, and they tasted very fresh. I was looking for a quick stop to grab a bite on my way to a show and this was perfect. It looks like they might mainly get takeout customers, but they have a few tables inside so you can sit, which is great for travelers.
Had an amazing meal at Niukee Shumai today! The steamed shumai were absolutely delicious — generously filled, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Each bite was bursting with flavor and made with care. The beef bone broth soup with tofu skin and glass noodles was also fantastic — light yet rich, comforting, and full of depth. The side dishes like kimchi, cucumber salad, and seaweed were fresh and well-balanced, a perfect complement to the main dishes. The restaurant has a clean, cozy vibe and the service was warm and attentive. Highly recommend Niukee Shumai if you’re looking for authentic flavors and a satisfying meal. Can’t wait to come back!
