Gyro Uno pizzeria restaurant café Astoria Reviews
Last night we were starving and decided to hunt down some gyros. We walked past Gyro Uno, and I remembered eating there ages ago, so I went in and ordered some gyros. The service was amazing! They really made us feel welcome. The place was comfy, with tons of seats. We also got fries and two slices; they were crispy and awesome! I totally recommend checking it out. They have a huge menu, and you can eat there or take it to go!
the BEST philly cheese steak in Astoria, hands down. These guys know a cheese steak!
This is an iconic landmark. Everyone local in Astoria knows that if you want a good meal for a fair price, this is your place. I started eating here as a teenager. The food is always delicious and has a taste of nostalgia. After a long day in the city on the way to Mom's place, this is the perfect end to the journey.
Gyro Uno in Astoria is an absolute gem! The staff is always welcoming and makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. Their gyro is hands down one of the best I've ever had, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. And don't even get me started on the lemon potatoes—they are absolutely to die for! Every visit is a fantastic experience, and I can't recommend this place enough. A must-visit if you're in the area!
Love this family owned place. The gyros are great. The service is efficient and friendly. I tried their frappe and loved it.
It’s a cozy little spot in a corner of Astoria but food is delicious. Pizza is fresh and the lamb gyro is to drool for. Definitely recommend.
Best Gyro in Astoria! The gyro is off the hook so juicy and flavorful. Make sure you order the beef and lamb there is also chicken gyro. The gyro is made in house you can tell it’s not the frozen one. The place is a hole in the wall but those are my favorite spots. The service was fast, staff were polite and the prices were reasonable. I give the beef-lamb gyro 9/10.
My wife and I met this pizzeria here 38 years when we moved here in Astoria. They have had three owners. The latest worked there as a pizza maker. Excellent service and satisfaction guaranteed as far as the food is concerned. The latest owner used to work here many years ago. Gyros is even better now
Under new management. Personal pie delicious and very filling. The gyro pita sandwich bigger than I expected and needed a to go bag. The cheese burgers never fail and always juicey! Great place, family owned and they are short staffed but still very good service. Outside dining as well.
I'm from out of town on a work related trip. I love gyros and wanted to give this place a try. The gyro platter was delicious. Our server was attentive and our food came out quickly. After we paid our check we received a very nice goodbye. I will definitely eat here again.
For a corner eatery with a Greek-Spanish name, Gyro Uno serves up a good slice of pizza. My veggie slice was fresh, savory, tasty, with a tender crust crispy on the bottom and slightly thicker than a traditional NYC slice. The crust bones (edge) is more of the crackery variety, instead of bready. A clean, good Astoria pizzeria + Italian / Greek food place with plenty of seating.
Grew up coming here and it’s sad to say the service has declined. Our waitress didn’t understand our order in either English or Spanish. She still missed part of our order. The passion fruit juice in water was horrible it was water with passion fruit pulp. The gyro meat was very greasy as if it was refried. Disappointed to say the least. Sad that after all these years we have to seek out a new gyro spot.
Horrible service & you could feel the prejudice in the atmosphere.
The Colombian woman in the front she thinks is a queen of sheeva she is probably the girl of the owner (guarantee).. she's talking too much in Spanish and make the atmosphere uncomfortable..the pizza are ok but a little expensive ...not come back again 👎
