Tranquil Bar & Bistro Binghamton Reviews
I had a delightful dining experience with the dinner I ordered from the River Bistro. The Chicken Caesar wrap and the spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The wrap was perfectly seasoned, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The spring rolls were crispy and filled with a tasty combination of ingredients. The presentation was impeccable, and the delivery service was prompt. I would highly recommend these dishes to anyone staying at the hotel. It truly added to the enjoyment of my stay
Best kept secret in Binghamton. I am hoping my review helps to change that. I think most of their issue is they are inside the DoubleTree hotel which prevents your average local from coming upon the place to eat. They seem to only draw in hotel patrons to eat. Bonus to this set back is you'll never have to worry about parking while still eating down town. Great atmosphere and look. You can relax at the bar or have a traditional sit down meal. Even though it is a nicer place, because it is in the hotel and accept all comers and goers, there is no specific dress code. This means you can dress up for a nice night out, or down for comfort and neither will put you out of place. They had a live musician there last night which was a nice element. Food and service was top notch. Alisha was our server. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. You can see what we ate in the pictures below. The crayfish mac and cheese and fried string beans were my favorite, but it was all delicious. My only issues were the chairs, but that will only affect large people like myself, and the creme brulee, but that is a preference thing that won't bother many people. So the chairs you can see on the picture has the metal legs come up above the seat so if your base is any wider than the seat by even a little they dig into you. The creme brulee had a coffee like taste which some people might like the unique take on the classic dish, but I am one of the rare people on Earth who hate coffee.
Great service from max, excellent drinks from Victoria!

Great service from max, excellent drinks from Victoria!
We were very pleasantly surprised by our delicious dinner this evening. One never knows if a restaurant inside a hotel will be good. All four of us (two adults and two teens) enjoyed our dinners and even stayed for yummy desserts. It was a wide enough variety to please everyone and the service was great.
Ordered Room Service for our family and YUM - fresh, hot, and fast! Delivered quickly and all our food was exactly as ordered, packaged for transport, and they supplied napkins, utensils, and condiments. The breakfast is very good with TONS of choices for every taste.
Excellent service at the bar. Hailey is very tentative, personable and passionate. Food is good as well. Highly recommend!
Good clean basic food excellent service, very convenient if you are staying at the hotel as well. Although they do have a lot of competition in the vicinity.
I had a great experience at the river bistro lounge. Hailey and Alicia were great servers and the food was also good.
We had a couple drinks and our meal at the bar. The food was very good and so was the punch. It was a very busy night at the hotel but the servers ran things great!!

I enjoyed sitting at the bar for an early dinner last night. The IPA beer I had (green alligator draft handle) was quite nice. The food was okay and not anything to rave about … I ordered the Brussel Sprouts Appetizer and the Bartender was kind and took it away and off my bill. The Brussel Sprouts were grossly overcooked to the point of mushiness. The main course I ordered was a Bistro Bowl, Pineapple Fajita which didn’t have any pineapple in any quantity. The grilled flank steak was overcooked but still flavorful … over all this dish was tasty even with the shortfalls. I would eat there again and be very specific with whoever is taking the order on how I want my food prepared. I took a slice of their chocolate cake home and it was the best. Give the River Bistro a try … you will enjoy the atmosphere and the food is above average which is terrific. LIVE LOVE LAUGH ALWAYS … 💙🇮🇱💙
Most of the food are good, I only went here twice, not a busy place, but the waiting time it’s a little slow consider how slow the place is. I still recommend this place though.
It was fine. The food was generous and tasted fine. Nothing really blew me away. I was staying at the hotel and was given a 15% off coupon, but the coupon wasn't used by my server, and I'm not exactly sure why. I had it out right on the table but it was ignored so... Not sure, what happened there. I probably should have spoken up and asked, but the meal didn't cost that much so I just let it go. I found it odd that they had specials on the board outside the restaurant, but even though it was only Wednesday, they were already out of things that were still advertised. I would have liked a larger wine list. Breakfast was very good. I chose to order off of the menu instead of the buffet and really enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The egg was cooked perfectly and the home fries were fine. All in all, I would eat here again if staying at the hotel for breakfast, but I might explore some of the other places in downtown Binghamton for dinner.

Fun after concert gathering. Reasonable draft beer prices. Bar food was good, got the sampler platter, except skip the fried Brussel sprouts. I ordinarily like them, but not coated and deep fried. A soggy mess.
Drinks were pretty good. Food menu was unexciting though and decided against eating here.
Great Restaurant located in the Doubletree by Hilton. Lunches or Dinner.. Great Place for a Business Meeting or Overnight.
Food was good but the service was very slow. Maybe 10 customers were there.

Opens at 5:00 PM. Got there at 5:05. No waitress, bartender took our order. Waitress came in. First got my soup wrong. Then brought my wife her desert, and forgot mine (never got it). Asked for the check, and waited over ten minutes to get, even though our waitress passed by us several times for another table.

Decided to try River Bistro for Restaurant Week as an alternative to Remlick’s (across the river) and were thoroughly disappointed. The River Bistro (inside Double Tree hotel) is severely under staffed both front and back of house. So we had to wait for 10 minutes to get a table and over 40 mins to get our food (remember this is the set menu for Restaurant Week for $35 each). Server did not check in on us/set expectations. We ordered a side of fries which also took over 40 mins. Server blamed kitchen saying it was backed up but all the food that came out was cold! And the seating was not even at half capacity. The first time we raised the lack of service, server’s attitude was ‘this is just the way it is’. We pushed back saying this is NOT normal. Then server suddenly became apologetic, offered to go in to kitchen and make our food herself (???). Server did take a few dollars off the bill but it was a wasted effort. Restaurant week menu sounded really good but it was just ok overall- appetizer was ok, main was good, dessert was terrible. Will not be returning.
My mother & I ate dinner at the Restaraunt at The Double Tree last night. It goes from bad to worse. She had the Pot Pie and it was disgusting. I had a Shrimp Safeon bowl and it was pure mush. Cold bread...... So So disappointing ! My mom said she went for Thanksgiving and the Turkey was raw.
Went there to eat last night. Waited over 10 minutes and no server come to the table. I went to my place and ate a sandwich. At least the service at my place is 100 times better than this place
