This is a place I would go to if I’m ever in the area. I came here the night before my birthday and was just expecting a nice dinner with my sister. Braulio made the whole experience perfect! He surprised me with dessert and everyone at the bar celebrated with me. They are very personable and I enjoyed having dinner there. Besides my personal experience…the food was AMAZING! Tortilla soup was just perfect! The salad was very good too. The quesadillas were OUTSTANDING! We wish we could have picked them up and placed them in our home state. The music was very good and had you wanting to sing and dance. You can either eat inside or outside. It definitely has a cool vibe. Definitely recommend to anyone who visits the area or wants some good Mexican food.

My group of 4 went to brunch on a Saturday and it was lovely! The back patio area was great and there was the perfect amount of space between each table and even had plastic barriers between the tables ('cause COVID). The Classic Mezcalita was soo delicious and refreshing (the right amount of lime flavor with mezcal.) I got the blue corn pancakes and they were delicious. Ate them up real quick! The staff was incredibly attentive and pleasant. The ambiance was so cute, too. I'd definitely come back here!

I celebrated my friend’s birthday party in the backyard here at Mesa, our group of 16 people we all had an amazing time, the drinks ( spicy margaritas w Chamoy - we ask for this) were incredibly tasty, our server Leidy is the bestest there is, thank you Leidy for you beautiful energy and impeccable attention. 6 stars out of 5.

Every dish we ordered was delicious!! The service was great and the waiters always made sure we had everything we needed. The music was on point and the vibe was fun. Great way to end our trip in NYC!

I love this Mexican restaurant. Before it was Mesa Azteca it sucked and once it was taken over by the now owner, this place is fantastic. Seriously as a fellow Mexican I know good Mexican and this blows away everything else in the neighborhood. I absolutely love the tacos here they're delicious and hit the spot. I've had just about everything and the food is always great. The atmosphere is cool as they have margarita specials and if it's not cold out you can enjoy their back patio garden area which is nice. Service is always quick and if you're lucky you'll walk in while they have mariachi's playing or a dj or a live band, etc. You get the point they like to entertain and keep it lively.

THE BEST place ever honestly. On Fridays they have a full band (so be prepared for that) but they are amazing and the food is fantastic (they give you SO much food too) they also have a really cute backyard that’s open in the summer time. Waitstaff is always super friendly and attentive

I've become a regular at this place. Food: Amazing! Drinks: Amazing! Staff: Amazing! I'm always welcomed when i enter the establishment. The bartenders Brauluo and Jesus are simply great! Very friendly and very attentive. No cons to mention at all. Place has a backyard patio as well. You won't be disappointed.

Came by today and had a great warm spring meal on the back patio area. I had the Chorizo con Huevos and it was excellent. Made really good breakfast tacos with the warm corn tortillas that came with it and added so.e of their red sauce that had a kick. The refried beans were awesome and I thought about ordering extra to go. My wife had steak and eggs and she loved them as well.

The Brunch specials are the freaking best!! Breakfast burrito is fire 🔥. Fried Ice cream with cacao sauce to die for. 90 min worth getting drunk for.

I loved the place, second time coming here, we started the night with a pitcher of pineapple and coconut which went a long way (large) set us back about 40$ and guac and chips with salsa on the side ( it was perfect for those who don’t like spicy guacamole;however, if you do grab a chip dip and salsa and dip in guacamole, perfection), we missed happy hour but I was told their is one, we proceeded with tacos al pastor (perfectly executed) and quesadillas suiza ( spot on), the waiter was helpful and recommended her favorite flavors for the pitcher and checked in regularly, regardless of how busy the bar was ( filling cups of water refilling your cup from your pitcher etc. etc) music sets the vibe for a fun night out with a group of friends, in all 100$ would get you through the night without happy hour, I’ll try happy hour next time and give them an updated review! Definitely recommend

Delicious & authentic Mexican food located in the heart of Bushwick! The restaurant was COVID-safe, they took our temperature and have partitions that separate guests within the restaurant. The margaritas were tasty & strong! I ordered the margarita, chorizo nachos and al pastor taco. I was so full and very satisfied. The restaurant is fun & I loved the decorations, the staff was super friendly & attentive. If you want to get some good food & grab some drinks with friends, I would highly recommend!

The food is fantastic for both brunch and dinner. They also have a really nice back yard with a sexy fountain. On occasion they have a really good Mariachi Band. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is they mislead you on the bucket of 5 beers for $10. They advertise it as 12oz beers but they are only pony beers. They should really be full size beers...with limes. I would be willing to award a 5th star if they had something like a kid walk around wearing a giant sombrero full of chips and salsa. That would send this place over the edge. Regardless, this is a great place to eat in Bushwick. Bring your date, bring your parents or go alone even. You wont be disappointed.

The atmosphere is wonderful at the court yard. However, the waiter service is Terrible. The waiter Daniel did not check on our table, we had to call the staff that ignored us and they include 20% tip which our waiter did not deserve.

Small, somewhat rustic place with a nice outdoor seating area. The drinks were great, especially the margaritas. Lost a star because the tables in the outdoor area are a bit shaky. Caused my date's water glass to fall over and break (on the table). Saw the same thing happen to someone else while we were there.

What a little neighborhood gem! I was just looking for some good eats before a concert but this place was completely awesome. The staff are very friendly, thoughtful, and accommodating. There were so many vegan options available. I really loved the vegan quesadilla. Super flavorful with “chorizo”. The Margaritas were delicious as well and the vibe in the restaurant is 👌👌 the music is pumping and tables often clap and sing to some of the songs they’re familiar with. So much fun! Sustainability rating: overall pretty good, no single use items except for napkins and straws.

Great service, I've been twice with the same waitress and she's lovely and pleasant. I've been for dinner and brunch and I like their options. I think considering the options though its a bit expensive, and I wouldn't make a habit of going (like I can definitely get a similar dinner in the area for less). I had Mexican fresh toast which was lovely. Thought the portion of what I got was a bit small but maybe I should have gotten something else. 🤔

Great little Mexican joint with a beautiful back-patio with great vibes and significantly better-than-average fare and friendly staff. Awesome neighborhood joint under the radar.

Had a fun dinner here this past weekend. Simple chips & guac were a nice snack to go with the happy hour margaritas. I enjoyed the frozen margaritas morevthsb the regular ones, but it’s a great HH deal so we drank away. Liked the mole enchiladas a lot & the fajitas were a great portion and tasty. If you’re looking to sit outside this place has a decent sized back yard but overpriced considering state of the place. Beware—they automatically include a 20% service charge (even though we were only a party of 3) which our waitress didn’t tell us (you’re paying on a little credit card machine so it’s hard to see) and so we put an extra 20% tip on top of that. Waitress noticed and didn’t say anything but when we realized later the manager agreed to undo it. Did not appreciate that she didn’t tell us it was already included, felt like it was done intentionally so people overtip without knowing.

I really like the food and have been coming here a long time but lately the service is terrible and the waiter is terrible. The music is also too loud.

May 2021: not socially distant seating but has partitions and a patio for outdoor seating. Food is decent but nothing to write home about or gram worthy. Good place to have friends or family brunch on the weekends, but by no means a date spot. Affordable, dependable, and good service.

I had a burrito and a beer there, during happy hour no less, and walked away paying $35. I enjoyed my food, it wasn’t outstanding, but it was good. They automatically add 18% to my check, which is insulting to me. I tip based upon service. That’s my choice. Service okay, not amazing, just okay. Why is this place getting away with taking so much money for a pretty average dining experience, I have no idea, but I won’t be parting ways with my hard earned cash here anytime soon.

The food is pretty good but portions are absolutely abysmal for the price. For $28 + tip and no drinks, I should leave full. Service was fine but there is an 18% autograt and then the tip options they present you are 25% 23% and 21% with the autograt included. Scummy business practice. I should have left it at 18 but that's taking it out on the waitress.

We came in on a Friday night. Music was a great selection of Spanish songs. We got a pitcher of coconut margarita and an order of guacamole. We were also given some chips and salsa. Everything was fine up until we got the bill which came out to $93. This included a 20% gratuity fee when it should’ve been 18% according to their menu policy. They also charged us incorrectly for the price of the pitcher of margarita which was $39 but they put $49 on the bill. We were also charged for chips and salsa which we didn’t ask for and I thought it was complimentary since we saw it on other tables. I have to give this place 2 stars unfortunately. I just went there for Valentine’s Day and I was very excited based on the reviews and pictures of the food. I was so disappointed. The tostadas were small. They looked good but did not have that good of a taste and my boyfriend ordered a steak on the side, they served it to him all cut up into little pieces (not sure why) and it was very dry, tasteless and tasted burnt. The only great thing was the piña colada, That’s why I gave an extra star.

Wished they had red wine, but no, I had to opt out for white wine. So I haven’t been back to this restaurant in over a year. So I decided to have Sunday brunch. The menu has changed dramatically. The unlimited drinks $30 literally for an hour and they time you very well. I usually order this one specific dish because it’s my favorite. So I couldn’t wait to order it I was highly disappointed. The reason for my disappointment is because the regular size of taco went to a mini size taco with a little size portion of home fries. It was even fulfilling because I was still hungry. The gratuity for 2 and more is now 20%!!!!!!. This is extremely outrageous especially when you have loyal customers but I know the pandemic changed a lot of things financially for all folks across the world. But 20% is too much and then ask for additional tip no way. The drinks are not even well made anymore with their special Tequila you can definitely taste the difference. To be honest I would not be coming back to this establishing because the portion of meal has down sized but the prices has increased.

I got sick from drinking the water. There was something off about the taste, the glasses were definitely not sanitized. Food was good but seating was weird.

Waiter didn’t check on us was such in a rush to go home we sat there while he only catered to a table full of his friends. Then he packed up and left we had to ask another lady for help. Didn’t tip because service wasn’t great. Drinks are good and tacos are good. Definitely need these young people to learn better customer service.

The only good thing about this was the location. The burrito was Gordon Ramsey “Bland”. Where is the Mexican flavour ??? The chilli sauce was also very disappointing. The drinks were ok which is the reason for the second star (one star otherwise). Overall very disappointed to pay 80 bucks for two burritos and two drinks.

I was very disappointed with this place i was really hoping that it would be good. My girl and i got chimichangas, the burrito was fried perfectly however everything was well under seasoned and lacked flavor. The bill was also expensive for how mediocre the food was, i dont mind paying good money for good for good food but when the food is not worth the money its disappointing. Ive had way better mexican food for a cheaper price. On the positive side, the aesthetic and vibe is very chill.

I use to love this place for brunch before the shut down. I tried going here for brunch with my family for dominicans fathersday and was led to the backyard which had no umbrellas or shade mind you it was sunny and close to 90 we asked if there is anything with shade the manager said no, I told him my father in-law can't be in direct sunlight, which to that was told oh well and manager just left. You can't expect people to sit in direct sunlight with this heat! I really loved this place and I no longer do I was truly disaapointed. I took my business elsewhere which had shade, umbrellas and canopies. The manger need to stay in his office and let Isabella host she was always professional.

Not to mention I did plan on tipping the bartender a few bucks for the drink, I just think it was unnecessary to put it on my tab especially when the bartender’s service wasn’t great at all. Food wasn’t to bad , service has horrible I had Nancy as a server felt like I was being rushing the whole time, she spoke to me w/ some sort of attitude and kept trying to avoid me when I was the one paying , asked for a receipt and she acted like it was huge problem. Came with a group and waited for a table (which was fine!). Multiple peoples glasses were dirty, and the waiters seemed annoyed to replace the glass. Asked for the check and paid our bill which was over $500. Immediately after paying the bill they asked us to leave the restaurant because they were busy, even though we had only been there for 50 minutes in total (and we were minutes away from a couple of people finishing a drink and leaving).

We spent a significant amount of money here tonight for a social event for local residents physicians/health professionals. I ordered a round of don julio for my table. The shots were obviously not don julio. This became even more obvious after having the second round which was purchased by someone else at my table. When I brought this to the attention of the manager/owner, he said he would “check with the bar” but did absolutely nothing about it. He never circled back around, apologized, clarified, nothing. He literally never said anything else about it. Not only will I not be returning, I will actively discourage others that I work with from drinking/dining here. I really hope those 6 shots were worth the loss the in business 👍🏾

We came here for my boyfriend's birthday. Awful. The staff was great, the waitress was nice but for the price for food, it was not worth it. The waitress over charged my friend and I and when I called to speak to a manager I was told that a manager was not there. I will be the ere to talk to the manager in person. Be careful when you eat here. Pay in cash if you do decide to eat here. Mind you the tip was already included in the total but I was still double charged.

We were so excited for this place. The drinks and music was nice but the food was really not up to the standards. The corn was horrible and when we told the waiter, he just gave us a “what can I do about it” look. Ruined our night. Been coming here since before the pandemic. The staff has changed, the food has changed, the drinks have changed. They charge you a 20% gratuity automatically on your bill. They service use to be outstanding, now it’s beyond mediocre. Their drinks use to be on point, now it’s just watered down. Their staff members literally don’t come to serve you you less you call them over. It took them 20 min from the time I arrived to serve water. The staff was by the bathrooms just chatting away and they aren’t friendly as before. After dinner and after paying our bill, the manager came over with 2 bottle for complimentary shots. They were not because they charged us and after we asked to speak to the manger, who assured us this was on the house, they insisted us on paying the tab. I will not come back to this establishment. They have changed for worst, their food has gone from good to mediocre, their drinks from top notch to basic. Go to a different spot if you want good Mexican food!

Food was not good at all. Got the mix sizzling fajitas, sizzling? I guess I missed that part, the meats and veggies came in a tray with water, looked like a dirty water which did not even taste good. Music was so loud I couldn’t even hear my friends talk, and our cup almost rattled off the table lol! There were people dancing directly next to our table, and the windows inside were literally fogging up. This is not a club! I can’t believe this place hasn’t been shut down for noise complaints yet, it was that loud. I’m a very reasonable person, but this place was very unreasonable. Just unnecessary! And unfortunately the food was mid and overpriced.

If you support this establishment, you are supporting a local restaurant who does not respect its residential neighbors. Mesa Azteca regularly stays open past its established close time blasting music, DJing, and ringing bells late into the night ~3 am. As a local, it is simply disrespectful. Please kindly reconsider eating here and enabling this kind of behavior.
