Mulata Brooklyn Reviews
Fresh food, even after walking in late during the pandemic. I ordered bistec floutas and a drink from a fairly well stocked bar. Reasonably priced and authentic, no frills, lots of flavor.
really helpful staff and delicious food, especially the birria tacos. Nice atmosphere as well
The steak fajitas were excellent and the massive pitcher of pina colada was the highlight! Fantastic food and service!
Had a great time celebrating Cinco de Mayo here. Margaritas were large and refreshing. My veggie burrito was delicious. We'll be back!
Great spot, fun vibes and good prices. I had the Milanese de Pollo cemita which was fantastic, and washed it down with a margarita. Very enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back.
Authentic central Mexican food. Picadas that are basic just like I love them with salsa, onion, cheese. Tacos placeros are are amazing with orange rice so flavorful and the roasted onion and jalapeño. The tacos are also super delicious. Expect authentic wait times it is not a fast food restaurant. If you want fast and frozen then go somewhere else. This place is affordable for nyc prices but super worth the flavor.
Tacos are simple and delicious, nothing fancy. Cute humble and welcoming atmosphere here which I honestly like better than every other Mexican spot in bushwick. I used to come here back when it would take 45+ min for food to come out and it was good enough that it was worth the wait. Since then the food comes out faster. Servers are nice kind people and the dude making Al pastor at night outside is a king.
In all modesty and honesty, as a Mexican who has lived in CDMX, Cali, Texas and now NY for about 20 years, Santa Ana has old school NYC style tacos, with good, fresh flavors, but slightly bland from the authentics; delightful if you are ok with them being so. Great staff service and nostalgic old NYC taqueria atmosphere. Sweet diversity of costumers and staff
Sadly one of the worst Mexican foods I’ve ever had. Tacos were flavorless and they took our order wrong.
Tacos were soooo disappointing carnitas were dry and fried which is not what it's supposed to be, the steak was gross and chewy, the barbacoa was pretty good
Decent tacos. Nothing too over the top. Good tacos in New York are as hard to find as good pizza in Florida. Something that upsets me is that people lack making the tortilla themselves . This is an essential part of the taco. The marinated meat was flavorful, but had too much salt. Fresh onions and cilantro are a must. The lines were a bit dry. For the price you’re paying, I would expect better tacos. They could do so much better especially since you can just go down the corner to any other Mexican deli for tacos.
I found a metal clip on my taco they charged me anyway, I'll never come back
driest food you gonna eat in Bushwick; went there because they have a giant sign that reads "Al Pastor", which is the name of the Mexican spot just one block away, which is really good. Feels like they were intentionally misleading customers with that sign. The food is so expensive and soooo bad. Not worth it, people were nice.
First time buying here. I purchased 2 tostadas and was charged 16 dollars (8 each), any other place gives them for half the price. (2 for 8 or 2 for 10 the most) I added a pic below to prove prices at a different place. Go one block in any direction for them, please. I also purchased birria (2 orders) and the consomé was watery, not the best seasoning either. So for everything 49. And this was take out, I didn’t even eat inside to be charged this much. Over rated.
Food is good enough but the service is BAD. The waiter has a very bad and unwelcoming attitude and always takes forever even to give the check I had to go to the kitchen to ask since they wouldn't even bring that, mind you, the place is empty. Wouldn't recommend at all, food doesn't compensate bad attitude and horrible service.
I would like to preface my review by saying the food and drinks are some of the best around however, in good conscience I cannot rate them above one star simply because of the horrid service they provide. You can be the only customer in the establishment yet you will wait 30 minutes before the server even checks on you, or you can be the only customer in the place and somehow your food arrives an hour after you order. God forbid you arrive and there is a decent amount of customers (10 people for this spot) you will be waiting an hour just for your drinks. On a final note they scam you since they change their prices on yours items whenever they feel like it. Extremely unprofessional.
I ordered 15 Taquitos through the app FromTheRestaurant (F>TR). Only three tacos were delivered. When I called to get help from the New Santa Ana a women claimed I only bought 3 tacos. I explained how could it be 3 tacos for $68.01. She wasn’t tying to help and then she put a male on. I explained to him that I was only delivered 3 tacos instead of $15 taquitos. He began to yell saying that their restaurant does not deliver and if I wanted my food I had to pick it up myself and hung up on me. When I arrived they had delivery signs on the door that said Delivery, Grubhub and Door Dash even though he stated there wasn’t any delivery for this restaurant. The man was very rude! I paid $68.01 on the app only for it not to be delivered. If I had known It was going to be such an issue I could’ve gone in person and only paid $44.55. They didn’t off me any help on getting the delivery fees back and neither does the app F>TR. Very bad service!
