Norwind's Brooklyn Reviews
Server Anny was awesome. Very attentive on point. Very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was very filling and done the right way. Great representation of the island I love & the food I was raised by 😉
I celebrated my husband’s birthday over the weekend, and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. I worked directly with Nelly to plan the evening, and she was nothing short of amazing. She was warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything went smoothly. She made it her priority to take care of me throughout the entire process, and I truly felt supported every step of the way. I cannot thank her enough for the care, effort, and thoughtfulness she put into making our celebration so special. It meant so much to us, and we’re incredibly grateful.
Norwinds was a blast from the past.. definitely will go back.. Been looking for an Authentic Puerto Food Restaurant and this spot hit the SPOT.. the food was like abuelas!! Grew up in Buswick so it took me back ! Genuinely recommend going to check it out.. also had a DJ..
Visiting new york, decided to try this restaurant. The empanadas and alcapurias are absolutely amazing. The fish in garlic sauce delicious. I give it a 10!
We attended a friend’s birthday dinner and sat in the outdoor space which was great because we were a group of 12. I had the tostones when shredded chicken and chicken mofongo… both were delicious and the sauce was amazing. I recommend ordering rice on the side to soak up all that flavor. I also had the Lychee martini which was delicious. The portions are on the smaller side which I don’t mind. Our total with drinks and food was about 50$ per person. The gratuity was included.

Our experience could have been any better, literally!! the energy, the environment, EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious and the people there were so amazing. Thank You perfect date spot.. New Norwinds Beautiful Place Overall it’s was great experience.. Great Brunch
I really wanted to love this place, we ordered carne guisada which was pretty good, pernil tasted like old pernil and the flavor was just not pleasing. The dessert was overly sweet and they only had flancocho available. The drinks were not worth it , stick with beer. We really enjoyed the music and atmosphere.
Beautiful display of the PR culture. I loved seeing the PR flags throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is large as it has outside seating and a second floor. Friendly staff and good food. Authentic PR food with such good flavor. Pricing is good as well.
The food was amazing and the service was spectacular!! There was a little mix up and they definitely made up for it and their service and how they keep their restaurant very clean and ready for a good time!! Next time I have to check out the second floor this time I didn't get to it!! Definitely a place I would go back to.
Service was good, from the waitress to the owner/manager. Food was fine. The fries were clearly made fresh and not frozen, so delicious. The atmosphere depends on your preference. We went on a Friday evening for dinner. At around 7pm the DJ started, we did not expect it so early. The volume is nightclub-like. The music was great but we couldn’t really talk because you literally have to yell. The nightclub ambiance while having dinner could be fun just unexpected.
I have been in the business for 25+ years and one thing is for certain and two things for sure is that I’ve never walked into a place that I’ve had a dinner party of 11 that had to drink out of cans and plastic cups. Your servers should be putting the drinks in cups in back of the house and serving it to the table. Don’t bring me a can to the table and then say oh do you want a cup or do you want ice? How about a straw? How about you bring my drink in a cup with ice with a straw like other restaurants? Seems very lazy seems like a place that’s cutting cost in the wrong places. Seeing the cans I told everyone let’s just eat dinner no apps. It really does affect a person’s perception. I can understand if it’s a bar and all you do is have come and go people, but if you have groups of six and more, you should have a stash of glasses in the back. And if you’re cutting cost because your staff is breaking the cups…..clip them you are FIRED you should not be working in this field thank you. I have seen a lot of these reviews and I think the ones that praise the food have never really gone elsewhere to eat. Some of the food selections are good and some are OK. Chef needs to tighten up on his meat temperature skills. Your steps of service is very important.
DO NOT GO HERE! I was visiting from out of town with 3 of my other friends. When we arrived, Ana was not welcoming at all and it seemed as if she did not know how to even place an order and on the menu it says that all entrees come with sides unless stated and none of our food came with sides even though there was no “no sides” on our items. Furthermore Ana never came to check on us, did not give more water, and messed up one of my friends orders when he asked for a shrimp empanada they gave him beef. THE FOOD WAS AWFUL I live in Humboldt park which is a staple in Puerto Rican cuisine but this place has no culture. The steak for the jibbarito was as hard as a gym shoe and they had NO GARLIC on the sandwich it self 😭 the alcapurrias were really dry, and the area out back needs to be re cleaned. Also before you come here just know there is a 20% gratuity tax 🤦🏽♂️ makes sense why the waitress did not care about her tip.
The food was ok def, not worth the shocking $300 bill for 4 people with a last min add on who sat for maybe 10 min at restaurant. Tip was included at a genrous $45 dollar, for subpar slow service. The music that was playing came on/off as the DJ was figuring out the system. This place serves traditional Spanish food not worth more then maybe $120. In this place we each had 2 drinks and 1 main dish that barely kept us full. Each drink came at a base of $16 and charged extra for $4 per flavor. A cuban sandwhich and yuca fries and 2 drinks should not be 80 each. Would def not suggest or ever go back as this was price gouging at its finest.
