Food was satisfying, particularly the nicely seasoned Steak ala Pablo. Dining area is bright and cozy. Service was pleasant and fast. Prices are mid-range.

We were pleasantly surprised. Service was warm, efficient, and friendly. The facility was clean. The menu offered a wide variety, which suited us well.

After checking into the Half Moon Bay Lodge, we realized there wasn’t much within close walking distance, but we noticed a restaurant right out front. With two very hungry grandkids (and adults!), we decided to give it a try. I wasn’t sure whether we needed to dine in or if takeout was an option, so I called, and I’m so glad I did. The staff member who took my call was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating, especially with kids’ orders. We ordered macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese with fries for the grandkids, a bacon cheeseburger for my husband, and spaghetti for me. To my pleasant surprise, my spaghetti came with complimentary sourdough bread and butter. And after seeing the beautiful cakes when we arrived, we couldn’t resist adding a slice of chocolate fudge cake. The phone order was fast and easy, and I was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. We slipped on our shoes and walked over, it was very close and easily accessible. When we arrived, everything was ready right on time. The food was delicious. The spaghetti was especially amazing and came with a generous side of Parmesan. Since we were staying at the lodge and didn’t have extra utensils, they thoughtfully packed everything we could possibly need, without us even having to ask. They simply knew we were guests at the lodge and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. This experience was truly delightful from start to finish. The service, thoughtfulness, and food were all excellent. Highly recommend.

I love pescadero. I spent lots of time at pigeon point lighthouse and always stop at Joe's for dinner on my way home. The staff are extremely pleasant. and the food is awesome.

I loved the bread and the clam chowder was delicious. The service and the atmosphere was also amazing I only gave a four on food because of the salad. It was too watery and my blue cheese dressing was too watery to actually taste it, but the lettus was clean! I didn't eat the beans on it I'm not overly fond of beans in my salad. I'd go again! The artist who created the artwork on the walls did an amazing job.

Half Moon Bay Joe’s is a fantastic local family restaurant that’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With plenty of seating available, it’s never hard to find a table. The prime rib is absolutely delicious—tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Whether you’re stopping by for a meal any time of day, this spot never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joe’s Half Moon Bay, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I ordered the “3/4 Broiled Hamburger” medium rare, with American Cheese, and it was cooked to perfection. The cheese was slightly melted just right, and it was served on toasted French bread, cut at an angle – a nice touch in presentation. The plate was beautifully arranged with sliced tomatoes and leafy lettuce, accompanied by golden, lightly salted country style fries. Yum! It doesn’t get much better than this. For dessert, I had coffee and German chocolate cake, and both were excellent! The cake was rich and delicious, and I would definitely order it again. The service was exceptional. The staff were very attentive and friendly, some of the best I’ve encountered. The atmosphere was comfortable with light brown decor, featuring both tables and booths that added to the tasteful ambiance. A standout moment was when the owner took the time to visit a familiar patron, which showed the personal touch and care they put into their service. My highlight was being overall impressed with the entire experience. Having dined at many restaurants in and around Half Moon Bay, Joe’s is located a bit further south by two miles, but it’s definitely worth the drive. I highly recommend Joe’s Half Moon Bay and would rate it in my top five places in Half Moon Bay. I look forward to returning! Return Visit Burger: five stars-Half Moon Bay Joe’s exceeded my expectations! The half-pound burger, priced at just $10, was perfectly charred with a juicy medium-pink interior. The fresh toppings and toasted bun made every bite delightful. The fries were unexpectedly crispy and flavorful. The service was top-notch, making the experience even better. I can’t wait to return for another delicious meal! Return Visit Desert - five stars, The flan at Half Moon Bay Joe’s is a must-try! This homemade dessert features a silky texture and a perfectly caramelized sauce that’s both rich and addictive. Each bite melts in your mouth, leaving you craving more. It’s rare to find such quality in a casual setting, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’ll definitely be ordering it again!

My husband and I finally got out of the house for a mini vacay after a year n half under lockdown. Yay for vaccines! Our first "dine-in" dinner and breakfast was here. Service was great both times, the staff wore masks and was so friendly. Dinner was tasty and large helpings, same with breakfast. One piece of advice, if you was delicious apple pie you have to save room, because they are large yummie slices! I wish I took pics of the pie slice before we ate them. Also look at the walls below the ceiling, beautiful painting that makes it look like a tiled rooftop with gutters.

We found this place kinda by accident. We went for a late breakfast. It was very good. Definitely a place to return to.

The food is served in big portions by smiley servers who go out of their way to accommodate their customers. The long hours allow for a big menu that offers a wide variety of dishes.

Joe’s has a down to earth family run diner feel. The kind of place that Gordon Ramsay would feature on a Kitchen Nightmares episode. Except this place isn’t as dysfunctional as the ones he visits on the show. Menu has a large selection of comfort food. Food is decent and portions are good. Only thing missing was flavor. Clam chowder wasn’t over salty - good, but it was too bland. What’s described as chicken scaloppine had no capers so it was more chicken Marsala with the brown sauce. That Marsala sauce too, was bland. Presentation could be better. Pool of gravy on side of mashed potatoes looked silly. I expect that from a Southern country diner, but not a West Coast eatery just down the road from Ritz Carlton. The sourdough with olive oil and pesto was my favorite thing to eat. Wait staff was friendly and always attentive. Overall, this is worth stopping in for a meal. We will try breakfast or lunch another time.

First time there. Went after a nice afternoon golfing at Half Moon Bay. The restaurant with dated look and tight booths didn't at first set my bar very high. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. I had the cheeseburger and added a side of ravioli for $4 instead of fries. The burger isn't as big, but it was just as tasty as Original Joe's in The City. Nice find and may be back again after another golf day in the future.

The service was great, I didn't like this corned beef. It may have come out of a can I didnt ask. I love that there is lemon orange in the water. A nice flavor. The price in the menue was higher than when I saw on a previous photo so I added updated menue photos.

Came here to avoid the traffic. The food wasn't half bad and service was fast. My only criticism is that although the red velvet looked great it tasted as though it had just been thawed or it had been in the fridge for a while.

Nice ambient place with a great American diner feel and look. Had a good stop for lunch. Had clam chowder, salad and bread. Had also the lasagna and burger. Overall great stop for a family lunch place.

Nice little diner right off Highway. Very clean and well sanitized. Although it wasn’t very busy I was seated right away and giving my choice of places to sit. My order was taken and within 10 minutes my was delivered. The one thing I could be critical Of is the homefry potatoes. One side was just short of burnt the other side may be under cooked. I really like to see family owned businesses like this one succeed and obviously it survived the pandemic. If you’re in the area give it a try.

Nice and generous portions. I asked for an order of French toast no sugar but honey for low sugar intake. Took a second person to ask in order to get it. But in general nice place to have a bite.

A family member had eaten here several years ago and said it was very good, so we stopped in for dinner while on a coast trip. I will typically get a steak sandwich at an establishment if it serves it, so that's what I got here. I've eaten steak sandwiches at various places across the entire united states. The steak sandwich I was served at Half Moon Bay Joe's was the worst one I've ever had. I'm not sure if the chef was a slug, a snail, or just had some kind of phobia of salt and seasoning. Whatever the reason, the steak sandwich was void of both. I ordered the steak sandwich rare and it came out blue. The crazy part is, the steak was white as chicken breast. It almost looked like it was boiled. There was a crosshatch grill mark on either side to show that at least touch the grill to leave a mark. The searless unseasoned steak was laid of a plain roll and then topped with two slices of tomato and a piece of lettuce. The funny thing is others at the table were getting the French dip and asked if the rolls were toasted to which the server very confidently said, "our rolls are always toasted". Big surprise, none of the 3 rolls on the table were toasted. The others that ate with me said their meals were mediocre and underwhelming. For the price of each of our meals, it was very disappointing to get quality such as this. Half Moon Bay Joe's is definitely not on our list of places to eat again when visiting half moon bay.
