Shake Shack Grand Central Station Reviews
It's quite a long line and the servers aren't the friendliest but they make a good burger. Their brioche bun made all the difference. Remember to always order the double patty because their patty are very tasty and they're honestly pretty small. The fries aren't as good as the one in madison square park, but the cheese sauce saved it.
We stopped at the Shake Shack in Grand Central Station for a “wing it” dinner, mostly as a crime of convenience. The place was understandably busy around dinner time, but to their credit, the line moved quickly and we only waited about 15 minutes after placing our order. The food itself was just okay. Flavor-wise, everything was fine—nothing remarkable, nothing disappointing—but by the time we walked the two blocks back to our hotel, the burgers had suffered. The buns were completely soaked, making the sandwiches messy and a bit of a chore to eat. We were honestly glad to be back in the privacy of our room, where we could tackle them without worrying about making a scene. Overall, it got the job done for a quick, convenient dinner, but it wasn’t anything to call home about. If you’re in a rush and need something fast near Grand Central, it’s serviceable—but definitely not a destination meal.
My fiancé and I decided to eat at Shake Shack today. It was my first time trying it. I had heard it was expensive but had good burgers. But everywhere we go is expensive, so today was the day I had to try it. The chicken burger was delicious, with the sauce and avocado. I can't complain. I will try a different order next time. The Shake Shack terminal was crowded; they had chairs and tables, but we had to wait for people to finish so we could sit. But the environment was great. What can you do… it's NYC! 😅
Best damn burger around! Very tasty and not greasy! You will thoroughly enjoy this quick bite. It's Grand Central, it's loud, it's busy. Have your travel partner grab a couple of seats while you wait for your order.
Long wait and not the warmest service, but the burger is totally worth it. The brioche bun really elevates the flavor, and the double patty is a must since the patties are small but delicious. Fries are average on their own, though the cheese sauce makes them enjoyable.
My husband and I stopped by for a quick meal, we weren’t expecting anything special but surprisingly the food was pretty good. However the service was outstanding, the young lady that served us was extra lovely, I couldn’t carry all of my food to our table so she offered to help me. I found out her name is China. So China if you read this, you should be proud, you’re a beautiful person. Thank you for making our Shake Shack experience even better 🦋
Nearly missed my train by 48 seconds… I don’t understand how it takes 30 mins to make bacon cheese fries and a berry lemonade… I couldn’t get an answer as to why everyone else who ordered after me got their order faster than I stood in line. I want my money back I will call the store until I do Edit - returned 10/11 around 1 pm- FRANKIE helped me out thank you so much and made it better than I expected oh my god . I take back what I said. I appreciate this a lot and shows the company does train and care about the customers now it got 5 STARS
This was my first experience with Shake Shack. Not only was the food hot fresh and yummy, the employee that took the time to explain some of the menu items went above and beyond. She was on her way through the establishment and looked busy but still took the time to answer my questions. Thank you to Eliza at shake shack for a great experience and a great way to end our trip to NYC. We WILL be back.
If you know, you know. Shake shack speaks for itself. Very high quality fast food burgers. I added fried onions to the shake shack burger and it gave it a great touch. The cheddar fries could be a little more crispy. The oreo shake was delicious but i recommend it be more cold. Its located in the food court in the Grand Central Station. Given how many people walk in and out and how much in a hurry they are, shake shack serves justice there.
Shake Shack at Grand Central is the unofficial canteen of the terminal. You’re hungry, you’re moving, and you don’t have time to decode a farm-to-table manifesto. The burger? Nothing groundbreaking, but when you’re juggling a suitcase, a deadline, and a craving, or a few mouths several stations away, it’s the edible equivalent of a deep exhale. It may not be the quietest corner of the concourse, but it’s one of the few places where chaos tastes this good.
I tried their seasonal Carolina BBQ Burger with fried pickles. I didn’t have high hope about the fried pickles, but it was actually very nice. The outer batter was soo crunchy, and the pickle slice inside was still very juicy. The whole burger was very flavorful and moist. I liked it quite a bit.
I went in to Grand Central Terminal one day to find a place to eat lunch. There are manny choices on the lower level. I finally decided to eat at Shake Shack. It is a very busy place at lunch. You can order on one of the tablets or directly from a register. They call your name when the order s ready to pick up. My order took over 10 minutes. Then it was tough to find a nice place to sit and eat. That took another 5 minutes. Today I just had a basic burger. It was juicy and most delicious.
It's not as good as the original, and used to have much longer lines, but still good burgers (smoke shack) if you get the double, and consistent burgers here. You can order in the line and pickup at the window - some seating shared and for the restaurant. Lower floor food court of Grand Central.
Tried Shake Shack at Grand Central and while the food was quite good – as expected from the brand – the overall experience left much to be desired. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or helpful, and the atmosphere didn’t feel especially welcoming. One major downside was that they refused to accept cash, which I find quite frustrating, especially in a place as busy and iconic as Grand Central. Not everyone wants to or can pay by card, and this policy felt both inconvenient and unnecessary. Good food, but the poor service and cashless-only policy really let the place down.
Honestly, I am the most disappointed I have been in a while. Coming to New York again after so long and going to one of my favourite fast food places to get what I usually get just to realize how smaller and tasteless it now is was devastating. The bacon cheese fries were painful to eat, not enjoyable whatsoever. The burger was OK, and Id say a reasonable price for it.
I have never been a fan of Shake Shack. The fries are limp. The cheese has no flavor. The bacon has no salt. The meat is not meaty. The whole meal looks like white castle. The only good thing was the soda. Uncomfortable seating area. Pretty much self serve and the self order tablet asks if you want to leave a tip. Overall overhyped and underwhelming and OVERPRICED!!!
Guests are required to use a terminal to order their meals, no problem there. However, when you go to pay for the meal you’re prompted to add a gratuity and 10% is automatically preselected. The guest must unselect the tip. Not only am I not tipping for fast food, I’m not doing it when I do the work of ordering, and absolutely not before I receive my order. Pay your employees and stop squeezing your clientele. And for the “tippable” employees that could be seen, they looked miserable.
