Somebody's Darling New York Reviews
Upper East's relaxed and full of energy bar ideal for group gatherings as they have lots of booths and big tables but also cozy enough for a date night. They host live music performances, markets, trivia nights, and so much more (check their Instagram). Plus, kudos for creating a safe space in the bar (bathroom sign). I went for the Oscars Viewing Party but ended up early so I got to enjoy Kacie Sky’s performance. P.S their Happy Hour runs from 4-7pm during weekdays! Also you can bring your own food!!!
Love this place. Its like the 90's forever. The photo booth and payphone is my favorite part of this place. Margarita Monday is awesome. The sour cherry, watermelon and pomegranate were a hit ! The jolly rancher shot is delicious.
This place is so cozy and fun. You walk in and Seinfeld and Friends is playing, and the walls are lined with famous movie trinkets and posters. Very cool vibe and really unique drinks like Grinch Punch.
Very cute and chill spot. Live music every Thursdays, trivia every Wednesday, weekly themes. Free popcorn. No ID check, no dance floor, games included. Drinks are regular priced.
Yesterday, I went to this place at 2 AM. The place had few people, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The vibe and ambiance were really enjoyable.

One of my favorite bars in the city!! I love going to Wednesday night trivia, it’s the best part of my week!! My friends and I have spent countless nights here whether it’s celebrating birthdays or having a casual night gossiping over their fabulous drinks. The prices are great, staff amazing, and atmosphere 10/10. Highly highly recommend somebody’s darling.
Excellent watering hole on the UES. Free popcorn. Creative cocktails and shots (a whole menu of imaginative combos like caramel apple and "Adult Capri Sun") at reasonable prices.
love!!!! the space is laid out well, many bars in nyc pack tables too tight together but here you actually have space to move around, dance, and socialize with other people!
Great neighborhood spot. I’m never disappointed when I go there. The bartenders are great and they have a photo booth (I’m a sucker for those things, lol).
This place is so cool, the bartenders are all very nice and they give you popcorn with your drinks. Would definitely recommend checking it out!
Good drinks, good prices, never packed, very chill bartenders. Everyone I take is pleasantly surprised
Super fun bar with great music and decoration! Their drinks are delicious, strong and not too expensive. I also love that they have games, free popcorn and allow you to bring your own food. It is always my go-to place when I want to have a good time with friends or just play domino over a drink with my husband. :)
Only food is popcorn, but oddly, I often crave it. Live offerings -- stage is outstanding. Atmosphere -- the nostalgia is totally Gen X; love it, incl. baseball trading cards I knew so well in men's bathroom ceiling. Beware their trivia: it's world-championship, expert-level ... not for your average hobbyist. Bar conversations have always been lively, respectful and rewarding. Love this place.
The bisexual version of Stumble Inn, they have Taylor swift nights & more. Come for the free popcorn, stay for candy corn shots. It’s much better in person, than it is virtually. A good old fashioned 80s themed IRL bar

Very homey 80s themed dive bar in UES. The walls are covered with old school toys and plastered with pictures from old movies, albums, characters/famous people. The music is great too! The venue does not serve food but does provide free popcorn. You are welcomed to bring in food from other places! Not super noisy that you can actually hear each other or enjoy a date. There are also arcade games and board games available in the back (battleship, connect 4, cards, uno, cards against humanity). Staff was friendly and seem to remember their guests! 3 beers/hard seltzer came out $27 (including tip).

My friend group has come back to this place over a dozen times in the last 6 months since finding it because we loved the music and vibes of the people, the board games, popcorn, and a Photo Booth, but every time we’ve gone, the bartenders were rude and sometimes actually mean for no reason. This last time we went, it was cemented for our friend group that we aren’t coming back because the staff are so unwelcoming. And trust me, my friend group is never belligerent and rude at bars, we are always respectful and polite to the bartenders and are met with rude comments and eye rolls each time. Especially the male bartender there. Sad because I liked the vibes, but the bartenders obviously don’t want you there and don’t want the tips.

Always had a great time but this bartender didn't want to serve us or treat us like human beings 😊

Place was a mess that night. Whole counter of the bar was lined with empty glasses and used napkins. A random staff member forced my group to leave the table we were seated at for no reason since he was moving tables apparently. The white girl bartending that night was extremely rude, immature, uncaring and didn’t know what she was going. Must’ve been drunk too. I ordered a Narragansett and some cocktail. She gave me the cocktail but never gave me the Narragansett. Meanwhile, she was just jamming to music and talking to other patrons. After several minutes, I asked if I could have the beer and she said that I had to be specific since she wasn’t “a magician” and didn’t know what I was talking about when I told her twice what I ordered and I even closed my tab and already paid. She was even giving attitude to my friends and not knowing what was going after my friends were asking her questions about the table and drinks. She said if I wanted to open another tab and we just left. Don’t know how this place has so many good reviews. It was a wreck.
Saw someone get sucker punched by a random stranger. Bouncer and staff did not do anything to alleviate the situation and didn’t kick the person out. Did not feel safe here.
This is the only bar at which I’ve been shouted at by an agitated bartender? I’m just surprised more than anything else. Update: after a quick scroll through other reviews, my experience was with the same male bartender that everyone else has also spoken about here. Would strongly suggest going to any one of the other excellent bars in the neighborhood.
