Shapeshifters Cafe Oakland Reviews
Needed some to go breakfast sandwich in a pinch and this place made it happen. Great spot
Love the expanded menu and design of the cafe. Firebrand breads, house made treats and teas, cinnamon syrup! Delicious sandwiches (which you can half and half!) and a cozy vibe.
The space is a beautiful renovation of classic residential home. I had the French toast special, which was only $10! I watched them make the sauce and it was incredible. Not many places in the Bay Area where you get this combination of price and quality. Iced coffee was solid too. Will 💯 return when I am back in the area.
A great Oakland gem with breakfast and lunch options. Their coffee is delicious, and they have a nice sunny back patio. Not overpriced, and the staff is very friendly. A very good brunch option when you want to avoid the crowds and actually be able to sit down and chat.
This place is so charming. I ate on the back patio and it felt a nice sanctuary.
Finished some morning errands and wanted breakfast and coffee. Got the burrito with bacon and an iced mocha, just what I needed to start the day
Delicious food in a cute, relaxed environment.

Absolutely perfect. Sausage sandwich is a masterpiece. All the items I had here had high quality ingredients and careful execution. I rolled up at 6:30am expecting a cold start, but they were already rolling, busy. Cops get coffee here in the mornings, good sign for a neighborhood restaurant.
Very cute place! Food is very good and affordable. The staff is very friendly. The outdoor area in the backyard looks super nice.
Came in for coffee & it was great! Service is friendly and the place is so charming.
Great little place for breakfast, lunch, or to sit with a coffee. I got the croissant breakfast sandwich and it was amazing. Iced coffee was also great, and for a great price.
Wish this was easier to grab a breakfast snack from. But when I’m here for meetings I don’t skip a chance for their house made sausage in their breakfasts! Oakland is Oakland, but the cafe is cute.
Love this spot for morning food and coffee on the patio and the adjacent cinema/brewery for evening events. This is an Oakland gem, and we need to show the owners as much support as possible.
I had an order pickup but the app crashed and didn't show my order. The couple who own the place were really nice and friendly. They gave me my order without app confirmation. Really amazing customer service.
Cool spot with great coffee and food. Gilbert was nice enough to make me a customized open face sandwich on tasty bread during later weekend times. Thanks!! Cheers
On limited time so I stopped and got a breakfast bagel and dang it was really, really good! If I ever pass through this area again this is the place I'll stop at for more.

4 stars for the lack of vegan options. They did offer oat milk for the coffee, which was okay.

We will try again later BUT Friday and Sunday they are closed. So do not keep your hopes up 👌

Coffee and food were unbelievably mediocre. The chai shouldn’t even be on the menu. It’s a singular tea bag with milk. Literally tastes solely like water and milk. Had them make a mocha instead, coffee was burnt. Vietnamese coffee was also terrible and had a line of unmixable condensed milk on the bottom. I also ordered two sandwiches which were terrible. The quality is poor and this is some of the saddest coffee I’ve had in Oakland. Definitely needs some major improvements.
Went it and the barista didn’t come out for 5 mins and told me to enter my order into an iPad. I mistakenly selected the cash option instead of card and he reprimanded me for it. Just walked straight out.
