Lahaina Beach House Oliver Court Reviews
We ordered take out and were very surprised we were able to do it over the phone and pick it up (being a cash only establishment I thought we would have to place the order in person and wait). Fast service, very friendly staff, over the phone and in person, big portions and the food was good (onion rings were awesome!) If going on a sunny/warm day...arrive early and don't give up your seat, it's standing room only!
Great Beach bar right on the boardwalk, perfect to enjoy with a group of friends during the summertime while the sun's out. You can play music on the Jukebox, although it seemed the price to play per song was more expensive than other bars a good time should almost be guaranteed here with the ocean Beach view on the boardwalk to people watch.
Excellent place to see the sunset and enjoy happy hour drinks. All the people that work here are really nice especially Jason, one of the bartenders. And he is really fast at making drinks. Outdoor heaters on deck for winter. Good prices and Great music too. Lots of tourists here but everyone’s pretty nice and I love how everyone claps when the sun goes down! Great place/beach to se the green flash too. 😀
We love this little joint and don’t know anybody who doesn’t. If you are lucky enough to get a table on the deck, the view, directly at the ocean, can’t be beat. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, the staff is always happy, helpful and friendly, the food tasty and the drinks, strong and fairly priced. If you are an uppity, dry, fart, definitely don’t go. The atmosphere is too fun and laid-back for attitude
Flew into San Diego years ago for work, had some spare time after our port call to check out Pacific Beach. It was a Tuesday afternoon in February, temps were cooling down. Walking around we came by Lahaina Beach House, stopped in for food and cold beverages. Food was decent, crowd was relaxed. Being from the midwest we'd never seen a Pacific Ocean sunset so we stuck around to watch the show. Amazing! Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched as the sun dipped below the horizon. People clapped and couples kissed like it was New Year's. Thanks Lahaina, and Mother Nature, for a great experience.
Best place to see the sunset at the beach with friends Grabbed a couple of t shirts from my buddy in the kitchen... And went out for a walk on the beach, Toes in the sand🌞🌴🎁 So blessed🙏🙏🙏 No drink in my hand Life's A Beach ⛱️ Live it!! Favorite places to go in San Diego Former employee back when we could have bonfires and drink on the beach Best memories on earth Sunset 🌇 is the Best event on Earth Thanks guys
This place is honestly good for the soul. The portions are GENEROUS. The staff is so friendly and the views are great.
A fun and super casual beach bar and grill. My mom and I popped in on a weeknight and the place was already pretty crowded, so we went inside and sat at the bar. We ordered our beers from a pretty gruff, not too friendly fellow and nearly decided to leave because of his crappy attitude. But suddenly, Tim came along. Tim came to let us know a table outside on the "porch" had opened up and walked us right to it. He cleaned it up for us lickety split, chatted us up a bit and told us to feel free and go inside to order the food when we were ready. We walked up to their open kitchen and ordered a patty melt and a Cali burrito. Guess who was cooking? Our man, Tim. Tim does it all. With gusto and with skill. He was cooking, taking orders, and chatting people up like an absolute boss. The food. Let me tell you about the food. My mom's patty melt was a beautiful, buttery golden brown with a hand pressed patty and lovely grilled red onions and melty cheese. Crispy, hot and and tasty fries on the side. The Cali burrito was as big as my head and was pretty perfect. It had tender carne asada, fries, I think some rice and a bunch of other yumminess. Warm tortilla chips and a nice chunky salsa accompanied the burrito. We left Lahaina Beach House full, happy, and refreshed. Tim is a treasure and we're so happy we stopped by.
Unique beach bar setting that few places can offer. 21 and up only, so your kids can rent a bike or gear next door and also just play at the beach across the path.
Great food and awesome view of the ocean!!
Excellent beach bar with magnificent local scenery and fun staff. I stopped in after a short day with one of my customers. I had a late lunch and some cold beers. For lunch, I had the Hawaiian burger. It was ok. I've had much better. I had to send out some emails so the bartender was accommodating in getting plugged into an AC outlet. Overall it is a great place to come and relax and forget your day. Highly recommended.
Lahaina Beach House rewrote the book for cool beachfront fun, dining and drinks in the sun. A super casual atmosphere that is loud, funky and literally set in the sands of Pacific Beach; great food, a fantastic beach and boardwalk view from popular crowded deck (buff dudes and bikini clad maidens), and the super popular bar (inside and on the deck) draws long lines of customers; I mean long lines (see photos). You will find the wait worth it. One of PB's most popular restaurants for sure. The restaurant is on the Boardwalk (perhaps the most popular part of the Boardwalk). Lot's of parties, beach activity, milling crowds, shopping (nearby Promenade as well as some small concessions on the sand), and the great views. This all adds up to attracting the huge crowds (I have seen a line that looked like 50 people waiting to get in, but they are having fun in the line because the vibe is cool). Staff do not ever smile... go figure. --------- Other popular places that you may also like: PB Shore Club... Popular Bar/restaurant (2 blocks north) World Famous... Restaurant/Bar... Amazing fish tacos. Grilled shrimp. Although they are on flour tortillas they have great flavor. Location right off the beach. This place is 21+. Limited to no parking.
The most chill spot on the boardwalk. Breakfast is always killer and the drinks are good too. Lahainas is mandatory for my family every time we visit SD. Fun to ride bikes there so you can work up an appetite, then people watch as you eat, and with tunes in the background. Straight up no BS place, cash only.
Best sunset bar in PB. It fills up pretty quickly, so get there early if you want a seat for the sunset.
One of thee most amazing beach front bars to catch an iconic SD Sunset. A must visit for out of towners and locals alike! Great service, great bar food and good selection of cold brews and libations!
Good vibes. Cozy place. Decent selection of beers. The fish tacos were pretty good too
Friendliest staff! Awesome tacos! Make sure you bring cash as they only take cash. Awesome place to witness the sunset each and every day!
Even though it was windy and kind of chilly, we still had a blast! Always a good time when we visit 🙂
Good food, good drinks and great people and great vibes
Fun beach bar! We had an amazing time!
Amazing food, one of the best chorizo burritos we have had and the chilaquiles were amazing. The kids loved the pancakes and were big enough to share. Right on the beach so the view and atmosphere was amazing. Friendly service, highly recommend it if you happen to be in Mission Beach.
We stopped here to have a beer and a bite. Laid back with great food and the killer view. Photo is from right inside at the picture window. It was a little cool outside this day.
Sick little bar right on the beach, beautiful views and good drinks
One of the better breakfast burritos around. Fun spot, cold beer. Great cocktails. Hard to get a table on the deck, because it's always packed. There is a reason why its always packed.
Perfect beach atmosphere. Right on the beach. Great Bloody Mary's and breakfast burritos. An icon in San Diego.
Great right on the water at mission beach. Strong drinks, beautiful views
If you are looking for a drink/snack right on the beach in PB then this is the place for you. First off, they have excellent breakfast, so go there for that if you are hungry and it's before noon. Secondly, if it is after noon, the menu options are good. The parking is limited, but there is an underground public-pay lot right below this place. The only downside is that all the drinks are served in plastic disposable cups so it's not the best for the environment, but they have recycle bins for the cups/bottles at least. I can't get over how great the view from the patio at this place is and so if you're looking for a casual place to grab a drink and sit outside and enjoy the beach, definitely come here!
While on vacation in San Diego we decided to stop in at Lahaina Beach House. We had reservations somewhere but decided to stay longer than expected and I was amazed by how good the food was. This is definitely one of the best places for fish tacos in Pacific Beach! The Bartender Jason had a big beard and was a really nice guy. Jason was helpful and told us of what other places we should check out while we are visiting and we really enjoyed his input. The view is nothing short of amazing. We met a few of the regulars and had a blast. They are just there to have a good time, which is a hard find!
Great place to have a beer and amazing food. Try the California Burrito, best I have ever had. Service is not great, bouncers and bartenders are alot nicer to locals then tourists. I still will stop by anytime I'm in town for a burrito and beer.
Nice food, big portions, good music at night, quick staff, not extremely attentive though, though. Wonderful to walk along the beach when coming for a refresher to this bar.
Nice rustic surferesque type spot. The deck gets crowded pretty quick due to the amazing sunset. Be forewarned, they are a cash only place.
One of the best Hawaiian burgers 🍔 in Pacific Beach🤙🏽 ⛱️ Good libations, awesome service.👍🏽 (thanks, Merry) Larger patio would be nice.
If you're looking for a crowded, noisy patio bar on the beach for amazing sunset views, this is it. For what it is, it's a pretty good one. Personally, I could have done without so much noise and crowding but I appreciate the fact that this is PB and it is that type of bar. From this perspective, it's a 4-star spot. They do have a full bar and the bar tender was great but the server told us she could only remember beer orders. I asked the kitchen for two of their best tacos and was told that would be the fish tacos. They were surprisingly good with a healthy piece of crisp fried fish on each. I was pleasantly surprised to find their salsa is actually hot. The food was ready pretty quickly despite the crowd, they call your name when your order is up. We were able to find a couple stools in a corner of the patio closest to the beach just before sunset even though it was packed. This is also a great location for people watching, as the beach path is just off the patio.
Came here for the first time on 8/10. Noticed it was busy right away. But no real wait in line to order. Which was great. Outdoor seating is hard to acquire. But it was a Saturday. Found nice seating inside with beach view. Music was a bit loud. But I get it. They have a bar. That's cool. But my issue is that the sign said breakfast from 9 to 12pm. I was ordering at 1154am, and i really wanted a chorizo breakfast burrito. I ordered, and the guy behind the counter said no. That it was after 12 and pointed at a clock on the wall that said 12:10pm. I said no, it was 1156am and showed him my phone. I think I heard the cook say "aw come on, it's just chorizo," and he said no. Really irritating, caz I wanted bfast. Ended up getting a cali carne Asada burrito. It was okay. Not bad at all, but they put too much sour creme, which overwhelmed the burrito. Chips and salsa were really good. $2 cup of soda was fair.
They have a prime location, a great vibe, and really good prices on drinks. However, the food was very, very low quality. Just lowest quality frozen stuff reheated for you. Great if you've been having said drinks, awful if you haven't. Don't go here for the food. It's a great dive on the beach but that's where it should end.
Terrible experience with the security last Saturday afternoon. I was with my friends getting drinks at Lehani for a birthday. I stepped out with my drink to make sure my friend got into her uber safely. I tried to go back in, but security aggressively took my drink (pretty full) without my permission, poured it out, and yelled, “Bye! Have a good night! Have a good night! Bye!” They never explained why I couldn’t re-enter or why my drink was taken. Even without a drink, the security just kept yelling, “Bye! Have a good night!” and wouldn’t let me speak. My friends were still inside and they would not let me go to them. I wasn’t drunk, or disorderly. I wanted a logical explanation of why I couldn’t go in and was not given one. The lack of communication and outright rudeness were incredibly upsetting and unfair. No one should be treated like that. I’m so disappointed in both the security and bar.
What a dump. Bartenders over service all... Creating a belligerent low class watering hole with world class views on oceanfront property. Such a waste. I wonder how long it'll take for them to clean the pee off the walls and blood off their patio after dealing with the drunks. They have more security than seats. Hummmm, I wonder why 🤔
I am appalled and annoyed that I ate my food before I saw multiple mice running around this dive bar. I can’t believe the health department allows this place to stay open.
Get rid of your doorman who worked on July 2nd 2025 around 6pm. Horrible attitude and created a very strange vibe for us coming in. Sucks I have to leave this review, because we really love Lahaina and have been stopping here for years. Never been treated poorly on prior visits.
Security is very rude. They close at 9 and they kicked us out at 8. Very disrespectful and wouldn’t recommend. Please get rid of the doorman working September 2nd durning 6-8pm. Very disrespectful and unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone since this person ruined the experience. I was born and raised here and this is by far the worst security. Don’t come here
