Miss Hatties Restaurant San Angelo Reviews
It was such a wonderful experience! I was truly taken away by the atmosphere! The servers are polite and so are the managers! They are so beautiful in their hospitality and personality!
This place is so good. Really cool old timey Texas feel, GREAT food, huge portions, great prices. Really can’t beat it. Try the pecan crusted chicken breast with the scalloped potatoes. We enjoyed our dinner here. Thank you Becca
The name and ‘mascot’ may leave one to wonder if Miss Hattie’s is a tourist trap or not. It is not. Very unpretentious yet totally professional. Servers in black and whites at lunchtime is impressive and our service was flawless; she even gave us tips to best reheat their special bread pudding that I took home. San Angelo is a great town and this establishment is a perfect example the of very cool people you will meet in San Angelo, Texas.
We decided to have an early dinner on Saturday Night. It was delicious. I had Shrimp Laredo and my husband had a RibEye. There was a smooth jazz saxophonist that was very good and unobtrusive. We had a lovely experience.
Fun place that taps into the historical background of the building and surrounding area. By far the best food my coworker and I have had in San Angelo! Started out with a light salad and fluffy buttered rolls, and ee both appreciated that the salad was actually an appropriate size for a started and not a huge bowl that is a meal in and of itself. I had the pecan encrusted trout with rice and seasonal vegetables and it was extremely good. The orange sauce was heavenly! The wedding cake martini was a great addition, flavors were perfect and it packed a pinch without being too boozy. To top it off, prices were slightly cheaper or comparable to similar places we've eaten at in San Angelo. Would recommend, and plan to come back!
Fun funky place, Victorian decor. Had the chicken salad salad- a goid sized scoop of chicken salad with salad greens on the side. The roasted garlic vingarette was house-made and delicious. Unsweet peach tea was great too. Fanastic value for $8.50. Orher selections on the menu were reasonably priced as well. Lots of locals dining there
Best brothel that I've ever eaten in. The ambiance is classic and tasteful. The service was a bit slow, but the delicious food made up for it. The steaks were cooked just right...medium rare! The sides were seasonal and tasty. The drink menu is unique. I was told that the chocolate martini is tasty. So overall, this is a quirky, fun joint to go.
Miss Hattie's restaurant was so cool. The food was delicious. I had the meatloaf, corn and mashed potatoes. It was all so good. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger of course. 😁 He loved it. The tomato basil soup was so good I forgot to take a picture of it before I slurped it all down. 😁. It is such a cute place and I love the decorations. There was one other couple in there so it was quaint. The staff were all very nice a attentive. We will be back because there are lots of things on the menu we want to try. After we ate we took pictures of the sheep 🐑 art outside and the murals on several walls.
We visited 5-10-19 after trying three other restaurants as a party of 8 and finding extremely long wait times. We should have started here first. We had not eaten here in a long time and it’s as wonderful as ever. We were greeted warmly by the owner who sensed our desperation and immediately seated us back in the Cat House lounge room with live music at a large table. It was perfect. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Our cocktails were tasty as well as the appetizers. Our food was cooked to order and was delicious. The entertainer and the owner at separate times went to greet each table to see how everyone’s evening was going. It was a delightful experience. Highly recommend. We’ll be back soon!
I saw this place on Texas bucket list and I had to try it. Went there today the experience was second to none. The waitress become us with a warm smile thank you for your warm hospitality my parents had a wonderful time and so did I. Yall need to check this place out the food was amazing can't wait to come back Joe.
Food was pretty good, aside from some bad pieces of lettuce in my salad. (Why is this so common in San Angelo?) Service was polite but slow even though they weren’t very busy. I think it would count as a “nice” restaurant by local standards, a little fancier menu, a gorgeous building, interesting history.
It's an older historic bldg that has a slight moldy dusty smell to it. It's an older place so the shops next to it have the same smells. It is a very niche place. Food was okay. Prices were very reasonable. It's a good area for dining and shopping. It would be a good place to stop and have a drink. Staff was very friendly and service was fast.
Superb ambience and music as well as service. I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and very good. We had the chicken salad was ok. The New York strip stack was really good. We also had appetizers: fried calamari was good. The crab cakes were just below ok. I wouldn’t order that again. Cocktails were ok not strong at all.
Rolled into town and, based on google reviews, decided on Miss Hattie's. The building was in a cute little area and looked perfect. There were several rooms inside and we were seated in the lounge, perfect for us. The server, Juliana, stated she was new here but she was quite charming, very nice and very attentive. The drinks from the bar were good. The food however! The salad was just lettuce & store bought dressing. The steak was thin and stringy, the chicken was overcooked. The rice pilaf was just white rice. The sautéed vegetables were good but without seasoning. The fries were hot and crispy though. Disappointing and not what I expected. I recommend having a drink at the bar, chatting with Juliana but eating elsewhere.
As cool as this restaurant is the service lacked and the food was mediocre. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding when you order food and they take a while to bring it out and you refuse it the waiter is responsible for paying that item that you no longer want. I’ve never experienced this, any other restaurant would give the customer service recovery and just discount it or take it off your ticket since you no longer want the item because it took so long to come out. There was no compromising or meeting in the middle, so instead make the customer feel guilty and obligated to pay for the item. It’s fine. Do better. It’s not like it was packed with customers. Definitely wouldn’t recommend any visitors to dine here.
