Move over Sri Pa Pai, there is a new sheriff in town. The absolute best Thai food in Woodside and at a great price. You must try to drunken noodle.
Quaint restaurant with delicious food. Waitress was attentive and friendly.
I always passed by this restaurant and one day we tried to dine in and honestly, the food was amazing and the service was excellent!

Smalll friendly and agreeably priced Thai restaurant opposite LIRR station in Woodside. Good selection of flavorful Staples and very good lunch specials👍
Best Thai food in Woodside by far. Their peanut noodle are heavenly. I think about them on a regular basis.
Love this place. Food and portion is good and the service is really nice as well.
Food as been good so far. Definitely one of my favorite Thai places to visit in NYC.
Best Thai food. Period.
Amazing service and food!
Always enjoying eating at this Thai restaurant. Great food and amazing staff. Have been ordering from here for years now 🙌🏼.
The best Thai restaurant in Woodside! Very delicious and they are nice and friendly. Even drinks are delicious too. If you go for lunch, they have lunch special. Serving with little salad and spring roll with good price.
As first time late night customer, we were thrilled to have our family dinner celebrating my sister’s new suv buy. The place was clean & neat, food was delicious but more importantly the service and attention was overwhelming. You should try their fish cake, thai wings, basil shrimp & specially garlic beef which were out of ordinary. We will revisit and you should ! Thx Syed
Great restaurant! Amazing service, incredibly kind staff, unbelievably delicious food! Eat here as often as I can!
The food here was nicely seasoned and well prepared. Service was friendly. Casual relaxed atmosphere. I had the soft shell crab with garlic. It was delightful.
Great food, great service! We shared several dishes and each one was excellent. Highly recommended!
Yummy food, finished quite a dishes here. greatly balanced meals, good presentation too..friendly. 🙂 Crispy flaky calamari
I can’t get tired of their curry, but drunken noodles is also a great choice! Very well seasoned, good portion, reasonable prices!
The food is great but what makes this place the best is the great costumer service ! 10/10 recommended. I always get the pad Thai
Had the spicy chicken drunken noodles and vegetable panang curry which comes with white rice. Delicious delicious delicious!!! Authentic thai food made by Thai cooks. Lovee this place!!
Love this place! A must go to eat and relax after long day in the city. Prices are good and staff very friendly. Top notch , really.
It felt like home cook food! Yummmm...Comforting. The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for Thai cuisine.
delicious lunch ,great service ..forgot my servers name ..very nice person.. 5 stars place Coconut water mix Singha beer 🍺 is the next step to heaven to serve my Thai food 🥘
Pretty good each time. No disappointments so far. Flavorful, fresh. 👌
Amazing chicken pad Thai, it was not heavy on my stomach which I had had in different places I ordered pad Thai. Just simply really tasty and fresh. Will definitely order again and if the food is good enough for me to write a review means it was really that great and the food was ready so fast I’m just amazed, the lady who attended me was so sweet and professional, great job sweet basil 🌿 🙏🏻
Sweet Basil is a neighborhood gem. I've been going here for years, but especially started ordering delivery and takeout more often these last few months. The portions are fantastic, the prices are affordable, and the food is delicious and fresh. Plus, the staff is attentive and very friendly. I've brought many friends of mine here, and they have loved it as well. HIGHLY recommend their Drunken Noodles!
I order from here all the time and each time, they always seem to impress me. Their Thai iced tea is amazing and so are most of their dishes. Even though, I have never eaten in the restaurant I do know that it is very comfy and pretty spacious. Overall definitely would recommend!!
Food was excellent and may my waitress was great
I came here for the first time with a friend on a Thursday evening to have dinner and catch up. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful with dish recommendations. The steamed mussels appetizer was amazing! It's like a spicy stew with a heaping helping of mussels and vegetables. (Great for sharing too!) The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice - casual but nice. The benches had cute little cushions on them. We weren't rushed out of the place and the food came at a great pace (not too fast, not too slow). I also recommend the Thai iced tea! I would order it a the end of the meal since it's very sweet and on the heavy side.
Sweet Basil is my hometown favorite. It is my favorite Thai restaurant I've ever had. It's s small, quiet place and nice to bring a date to. I love their garlic duck! It's always on their special menu. I usually get it with extra garlic. The garlicky flavor isn't overly powerful but it makes their sauce even more flavorful. Their fried rice is also great. It is not greasy at all. Like the dock, it is enormously flavorful. Personally I like their pineapple fried rice. The pineapple compliments the rice very well. It also compliments the other components of the dish. The fried rice can be a meal of its own or, you can have it with the duck or anything else on their menu. Needless to say this place is a staple in my repertoire.
This restaurant is on 61st in a great spot off to the side of the LIRR. The Neighborhood is a little sus. Lots of foot traffic. Restaurant never notice the restaurant being full for lunch. So far I've had all their noodle, salad and curry dishes. A few vegetarian appetizers. Food has been great. So great I had it 4 days a week for the last 3 weeks lol. I'll try some rice dishes this week. I love Thai Food and this restaurant does it well.
I Was in the mood for Thai food. The food was amazing so fresh flavourful from the egg rolls dumplings pork belly curry chicken the Thai tea was delicious. The service was great nice little place will definitely be back!!
The meal was absolutely FANTASTIC!! There were only 3 other couples in this small restaurant when we arrived around 8:15 pm on Thu, Feb. 14, 2019. At one point, we were the ONLY couple. We ordered Jasmine Hot Tea, Thai Iced Tea, Pad Thai w/ Chicken, and Red Curry w/ Roast Duck. Service was a bit slow, since there was only one (but VERY FRIENDLY) server, who constantly had to answer delivery and take-out orders. I would HIGHLY recommend the food!
I had the Steamed Thai Dumplings as an appetizer and Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice as my main course and finally for dessert the Sticky Mango Rice. They were all really good and delicious!! Highly recommended!!! Also great spot for a nice quite lunch date...
Beautifully calm ambiance. Great for a date! Their food is so delicious & their Thai based drinks are so flavorful. My favorite drink to come by for is their Thai iced coffee. The staff is so friendly & helpful. Plus their managers/ owners always stop by & thank customers.
My Wife and I, both enjoyed the food very much (good prices and great food quality); as well as the amazing customer service. Our compliments to the Chef and Host/Waiter. Will be back soon for sure !
I've been here several times over the years and the food is AMAZING!!! The menu is also packed with so many different options. Definitely coming back!
Stopped there randomly for lunch our first day in the area and my gf and I were both pleased by how good the service and the food were. We got the lunch special, her chicken and I beef, and it was a very good price for the soup, egg roll, and meal.
They have been my go to. You pay the price for the quality and it’s still a great price
I tried this restaurant on Friday April 25th for lunch with a friend. The restaurant setting is simple. Our waitress was very personable and friendly. The food was delicious! The spring roll and salad was delicious that went with lunch entree!.Our food was prepared well! Will definitely go back!
Happen to randomly stumble on this gem! Thai basil fried rice was phenomenal. Super friendly service as well. Definitely will be back!
Missed my train at Woodside, decided I'll grab a quick lunch. Found this unpretentious little place and I'm glad I did. Lunch special was spot on delicious. Nothing elaborate, just drunken noodles. I'll be back for dinner.
Best in the neighborhood! Pad Thai is always amazing, same with drunken noodle and the curries. Lot of variety on the menu. Great for takeout as well as dining in. The atmosphere is relaxed and upscale, the staff friendly and approachable, and the prices are neighborly and reasonable. I always forget to take a picture of the food because I can’t wait to dig in!
We’ve been ordering from this spot for many many years—consistently packed with flavor and always delicious! 🤤 Favorites? The eggplant dish, drunken noodles, pork belly, crab… honestly, the list goes on. We’ve never dined in (thanks to life with two little ones), but one day I’m definitely checking out the restaurant!
Sooo thankful to the young waitress who decided to take our order even though we entered the establishment 10 minutes before it closed. I do not being that person but we were ravenous after the play at the State Theater up the block. While we waited we ordered the lychee drinks and they were so delicious. Lychee is a white fleshed fruit encased in a dark husk, they remind me of rambutans, the outer shell is just not spiky and red lol. My mom and I both got a type of FRIED RICE and it did not disappoint. I love the distinctive aromatic smell of Thai fried rice. The aroma makes my salivary glands and nose hairs stand up. I took a few bites when we got in our car and the smell suffocated the car. It was delicious. I’ll be back to eventually try a curry and maybe some drunken noodles.
Vegans rejoice! They have amazing plant based options here. So, I totally didn’t get photos because we were so hungry. But the spring rolls are vegan, the regular salad with peanut sauce is also a winner, and we got the spicy tofu… it even comes with rice! Definitely would recommend. It’s a cute little restaurant and the service was 6/5. 😊
This place is an underrated Thai restaurant. I came here many times and their food is solid and the taste is well balanced as well. Personally, I think their noodles and curry are better than the other place nearby. These are some of my favorites: Pad Thai, Pad Seew, Drunken Noodle, and Panang.
Sweet Basil is a cozy little restaurant. The service was great with the server taking care of our needs. The food certainly wasn't bad either.
The food was really good. I especially liked the mango coconut sweet rice dessert. I would go back for that especially.
good Thai food, no big complaints we all enjoyed the food, good prices, but nothing was exceptional.
One of my favorite Thai places in Queens the food is always fresh and the staff is very helpful and friendly they also have great lunch specials.
Ate here during my New York vacation. Delicious. Wanted to return but there were so many other places to try during my trip. Will be back. The food was great and affordable. Staff was nice. Delicious!
As many of my friends can attest to, I keep coming to Sweet Basil whenever I get a chance. There's something about here that stands out compared to the many Thai restaurants I have been to [which is A LOT by the way], from the warm, efficient, attentive service, to the consistency of the food quality, right down to the minute fact that they take American Express. My usual of crispy vegetable spring rolls, beef drunken noodles (has the right balance of chili seasoning), a side of rice, and a Thai iced tea to finish it off has yet to disappoint. Oh, and it is conveniently located right by the Woodside transit hub, something that previously made my weekend commute to and from Suffolk County on the LIRR much more bearable.
Their panang curry curry is just omg , perfectly balanced, not too sweet .you need up eating the veggies 🥦 because of the Currie
Service was great! We came here for Dinner. We ordered the drunken noodles and pad thai. The drunken noodles were really good but the pad thai noodles were very hard to chew.
This place is yummy. Got the fried squid rings, papaya salad, veggie pad sea ew , and the half roasted duck in the curry sauce. My only complaint about this place was the serving of the duck it said half duck but it totally was a quarter very small portion. But the flavor was amazing I’ve been eating duck my whole like and that was either a really tiny duck or a quarter of a duck not half. Giving 4 stars because the place was cute and the food was really good just the portions are on the smaller side.
The place is simple decorated, but it is clean. The service is quick since only 3people. Quite slow for weekend night. I guess they are busier in the afternoon coz they have good lunch special deal. The waitress recommended green curry. And it disappointed. Not much flavor, only spicy The Thai ice coffee is very good 4stars for ice coffee and quick service
The pad thai had all this weird red sweet sauce in it. The eggrolls were greasy tasted like it was made in really old oil. Today’s order was either weird or very Americanized…
The food was below average. So far I have been to thai places all over manhattan, brooklyn and queens so I can confidently say that the quality of food was way below the average, the rice was bland and had a weird soap taste. The soup tasted a bit like tap water. Otherwise the service was nice and the place looks good. Hopefully others have better luck than me.
We sat down for a beer and for appetizers. There was nobody but me and my friend. Time was around 6pm. I saw some older women peeping out with an aprons exited that she had some customers finally. The waitress is horrible with attitude. Food was great but the hospitality!! I'm sure that the reason for this place is empty bcos of the Service from the young girl running the front!!! What A Shame why the SMALL BUSINESSES ARE FAILING BCOS OF LACK OF EXPERIENCE OF THESE YOUNG TALENT!!
This local spot just steps from the subway serves fairly straightforward Thai food. The staff is very friendly, the space is clean, has plenty of tables and clearly has a good takeout business. The Panang curry with chicken leaned a bit watery and was spicier than I prefer. Prices are very affordable, almost pre-Covid. They offer a lunch special, though it’s not available on weekends or holidays.
The food is great, I love the sun-dried pork. But my girlfriend got the drunk-in noodles and there were multiple big chunks of eggshells in it. I really like the place, but I am going to have to reconsider going back because I don’t want eggshells in my food 😭
wouldn’t be back. Food taste like they just put something they bought else where into some tiny portion of sauce and they heated it. Was excited to try but pretty disappointed
Their food has an after-taste. This means they don’t keep their woks clean.
The food was not the great, had to change twice. Found cans crystals in the Thai iced tea. Didn’t like the service, rude, and when it’s time to ask for the check they force you to pay 15% which is at least like $10 when there is an option for custom tip, and the service is no where near. Do not recommend this place.
Woodside local . After being here for 10 plus years . Last night was the drawing point . Waited 70 mins for food to arrive . The vegetables they used for the pad Thai easily came out of a frozen bag . Pad see ew was decent but not the same it used to be . Threw most of out after spending 35$ for dinner . Never coming back here again.
Me and my wife chose this place over many other choices we had. We decided to go in a pouring rainstorm. Main door was stuck and we struggle to open while the waiter stand and looked at us with an expression “why are you here?”. Forget about smile, “how many?” We said and she just left the menus at the table. There was no body in the restaurant entire time but she never attended our table, we had to seek for her attention all the time. She didn’t explain much and limited her answer to yes or no. Though food was ok, her attitude destroyed our date night and we left with regrets. There are quite a few places in woodside Ave that treat you like human regardless of how you look or dress. Don’t go there!!
Twice I ordered pad Sea-Ew and twice there were less than four pieces of Chinese broccoli in it. If I wanted all noodles, I’d have just not bothered. This place in incredibly stingy with vegetables. If you’re looking for a better balanced dish, plenty of places along Woodside Ave that give you what their pictures show. Look at the pictures in the reviews here and count the green!
the waitress isn’t very nice 😭 she makes it seem like she’s always in a hurry when there’s no other customers and quickly takes away the menu before i can finish speaking… also their sanitation grade just went down to a B 🫣
I was very disappointed in the portion size. Very small amount of food for the price.
Terrible. No flavor. The drunken noodles wouldn't taste right even to a drunkard. Their spring rolls were also bland. Their iced tea was watered down, and they had the nerve to charge an extra fifty cents because asked for no ice! Never going back.
Food smelled very bad. Like uncooked raw chicken broth on the food. Couldn’t eat it. Was forced. Owner was rude and showed no hospitality. Won’t be coming here again. Treat others with kindness, no one is better than others.
The food doesn’t taste good.
Today we went to this restaurant and there was no people at all at first we were surprised then we thought its ok and we ordered red snapper which was $38 the fish had no test and it had no spice nor any ingredient to it and the size according to the price was very small we were three of us and we ordered drunken noodle very small portion for one order and it cost $18 and didn't test like noodle because there was very small amount of noodle also we ordered pineapple fried rice which was old and had no test at all, we spend $98 dollar and we were still hungry , I would never recommend any one also I would never go there even by mistake . I would rate this restaurant 0 out of 10 .
As a lover of Thai food I have made it a point to try several of the delicious restaurants in the neighborhood. I had heard good things about this place and decided on it for take out. I live a 5 minute walk away, so I called ahead and ordered the Duck Salad; it came out to $13 and change. I picked up the food and brought it home with me to eat. My first impression was that the portion size seemed rather small. I understand duck is always a bit pricey, but it could've had more of the other ingredients. I also noticed the mango was very ripe and sweet which I dont mind, but is usually not the case in mango salads. Now the kicker...there was a hair in the food. You can see it in the pic. I thought perhaps it was my own, but when i pulled it out it was IN THERE under several pieces, not resting on top. Not a good first impression. Will not be going back.
