A pleasant overnight stay. The room was nice and the food was excellent. Tom, the barman, can make some of the best cocktails in the Nort East. Thank you Tom, we enjoyed them. 👍

Didn't stay in a room so haven't reviewed the room. My friends and I were staying in Otterburn and read this was a nice restaurant. Didn't disappoint! We had 3 courses and coffees. Very nice. Servers were lovely, we had a Robert Pattinson lookalike serving us and he was lovely.

Lovely cosy pub. Good varied menu. The mussels were particularly good. The service was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and attentive

We only ate in the restaurant but it was absolutely delightful, the decor inside is so cosy and classy. The staff managed to squeeze us in, very last minute and gave us a lovely table. The cocktails were delicious and on the night they had a large party in (pre wedding I believe) and helped us work out order either side so we weren't waiting ages for food, all in all a lovely place.

Bar staff were very polite and friendly. A good selection of beers were on tap. The surroundings were very appealing and suited our taste. The sandwiches were spot on with generous fillings and more than enough chips for us (I had fish goujons; delicious). I thought that the pricing of the sandwiches was reasonable, but the main meals appeared a little pricey, however, I can't fully attest to that, because I didn't have one and the quality and quantity of food served may justify the price.

Came for lunch after a morning walk. I want to thank you for a lovely lunch, we had the fish sharer with some chips and other sides. We especially want to thank our server (Yanet I think?) who was absolutely lovely and really made us feel welcome. Great job all round and will be back. P.S. our dog loved the doggy menu!

Been here for lunch numerous times and the food is always very good. They've had excellent cask beer on from local brewery First To Last every time we've visited too. Super dog friendly.

Beautiful place and food was great. I stayed for work and this place was 5 minutes away from my work location. Couldn't fault it

We came here for a meal and were very satisfied. As soon as we entered we were welcomed by Tom (who makes delicious cocktails). The lady called Chloe who tended to all of our needs was wonderful! Both Tom and Chloe made our time here unforgettable with their abilities to go above and beyond. Chloe helped us to get our daughter a kids portion of banana blossom and chips, helped us with recommendations and was so attentive to all of our needs. Tom was funny and offered me a dessert cocktail. Tom rose to the challenge when I explained I was vegan. Hands down this was the most delicious cocktail I have ever had! The chief also needs a shout out as the food was absolutely delicious! Every part of our meal was so friggin good. The banana blossom was the best we’ve had and we’ve tried it all over the country. The mushroom pasta was so excellent that I was thinking how I would love to eat that for dinner again the next day. The decor and atmosphere is charming and clean. The food was top notch (with loads of choices for vegans WIN!), the team are a delight and well deserve some recognition. If I didn’t live 7 hours away I would definitely be a regular. Keep up the great work guys and thank you so much for our wonderful meal with you.

Went to a wedding here. Amazing layout, food, atmosphere. Drinks expensive £7.50 (2025) pint lager, wine £40 per bottle (wine, quality dependent so could be more)

Beautiful lunch. I had the fish and chips, that came out huge! Lovely crispy batter and perfect chips with mushy peas and tarter sauce. My daughter had a double burger that she loved, with truffle fries.

Just had a fabulous meal here, two of us plus a rather large German Shepherd. They *really are* dog friendly, not just tolerant, our boy has been totally loved up this evening. Plus the food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient, and the interior is warm and attractive. We're not staying in the rooms, so I can't comment on them, but would definitely recommend this as a place to eat good food, and with an especial recommendation for dog owners to feel welcome.

We visited here for dinner with our kids and it was absolutely spot on .. years ago this was a very tired old bar known as the Percy Arms .. what a delightful experience to see it not only restored to its original purpose but to see it brought into modern day sophistication... The food was superb although ...we were looking for a pancake menu .. in terms of happy customs we certainly left feeling well looked after and well fed... The home made chips were exactly as they should be and the sharing platter was faultless I don't think I've ever enjoyed a pork pie so much in my life! Bougie to say the least - venue was clean - noticed dog babies are welcome and our kids enjoyed the menu too! Can't wait to go back! And ...parking was easy and free!

Friendly charming staff. Sunday dinner was excellent. The pork & beef perfectly cooked. The staff managed every drink request including a negroni. Warm cosy decor. Lovely outdoor area and gardens. Looks like a great wedding venue too A perfect romantic Sunday night away

We ate rather than stayed. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, the food was excellent, the ales were very well kept with good choices (more dark ales would be good though!), truly dog friendly, well worth a stop if traveling to or through Otterburn.

I did not stay at the William De Percy but I did have the pleasure of eating there, It is very dog friendly and they have a brilliant track. The toilets were immaculately clean and smelt rather nice! Must say good quality toilet paper. The starters were very good and so were the mains, clean plates all round. Crepes for desert were okay. Unfortunately They did forget my main so I was sat watching my family devour their meals around me like vultures whilst I sat ravenously wasting away. However to rectify this issue they did a great gesture of removing drinks from the bill! Merci beaucoup Willy de Percy would most definitely come again!

Hunter's chicken was really good, portions big, quality price ratio is very good. My wife had one of the best mussels in white wine sauce.

Great pub for food and drinks. Plenty little cosy nooks to sit in. Staff are pleasant and welcoming. As with all pubs the atmosphere can vary with the visitors in that night as there are weddings next door at the same venue. Parking can be limited at busy times. Would recommend booking in advance for food service.

Stumbled upon this treasure on a Sunday drive. Excellent value for money, great tasting food - well presented and lots of it. The meal was enhanced by fantastic service from Ian - from seating us , through wine tasting to ensuring our every whim was catered for. We WILL be back

We weren't sure to go for this place due to reviews but I'm glad we decided to visit. The staff were excellent and they provided really tasty vegan food and cocktails! I would recommend the Gyozas they were so delicious! Our room was beautiful and everyone was super friendly. Great dog friendly hotel + amazing ground coffee and snacks provided in rooms! 🐶🌱

Went for a birthday meal here with family. The atmosphere is lovely, very charming and cosy. The staff were absolutely brilliant from start to finish, couldn't have asked for more. The menu is varied enough to provide good choice, with locally sourced ingredients which is a nice touch I think. The food was very good. I had steak which was cooked as I asked with some lovely seasoned fries. The pie which one of the party also had, uad beautiful looking pastry and was apparently very good too. Thought everything was reasonably priced! The location feels a little out of the way which I feel is both a good and bad thing. Otterburn is a gorgeous area but from where we travelled it did make for a longer journey; wouldn't put me off coming back though.

Great service staff we’re very welcoming. Good selection of drinks and food. Could taste the quality ingredients in our food. We had the squid & tempura prawns for starters, then the steak frites and burger for mains. We had finished our starters and our mains within an hour or being here so really quick service. They also gave us a tester for the specials in the week. Will be returning. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Couldn’t fault anything.

We visited the pub/restaurant after booking a table at a very last minute during the bank holiday weekend. We were welcomed by a very cheerful waitress who lead us to the table and offered some drinks. The menu consists some nibbles, starters, starters to share, salads, main dishes (mostly classic pub dishes including burgers) and desserts. Vegetetian, vegan and gluten free options, all labelled in the menu. We ordered chicken shawarma and crab burger. Despite busy Saturday evening, we didn't wait long for the meals. The crab burger was really nice, same as dynamite coleslaw. The chicken was nice and tenter, well but not too much spiced but the flatbread was almost unedible- very hard and chewy. We didn't get desserts. It's a very nice pub, with bar area and a few table areas, all nicely decorated with a bit elegant, rustical style. There is also a small beer garden on the back of the building, next to the car park. The staff were very friendly and nice, attentive to the dietary requirements.

A lovely warm and welcoming pub in the small village of Otterburn. We came here for mid week lunch and ordered the Chicken Milanese, which comes with a rocket side salad. We also ordered a side portion of chips. The salad wasn't too crisp, but the chicken was lovely and tender and the chips were great too. The total bill came to a reasonable £37. The staff were super friendly and the tap water comes in a flask with strawberries and blueberries, which I thought was a nice touch. So if you're near the village of Otterburn in beautiful Northumberland, then the William de Percy Inn is certainly a great place to stop for a meal. Friendly staff. Main course was very very tasty. Without doubt the best smoked salmon I've ever had. Absolute melt in the mouth perfection. Parmalat and truffle fries are incredible as well. Malteasers crepe was acceptable but other than the filling the crepe was substandard.

We called in during our travels around Northumberland and we we're pleasantly surprised by the diverse menu. The place was dog friendly but we left ours in the car and I'm glad we did as there were some in there that were quite disruptive. There had been a mix up in the kitchen which resulted in a delay in our food but the manager came to explain and offered us complimentary drinks as a means of apology. We had sea bass, a pork chop but beware the pepper sauce it was firey, so glad it was served separately, we also had a chicken dish. A quite dark modern interior but had a nice atmosphere once the canines settled down

Went for dinner while staying locally. Found the bar staff friendly despite a very loud party causing a lot of disruption. I was eager to try the food but was left quite disappointed with the burger I ordered. One of the burger patties was noticeably undercooked and the onion rings were burnt and swimming in oil.

Although Tom was absolutely fantastic and the food was lovely, we have had to mark down purely for the attitude of the other members of staff. Connah in particular was incredibly rude, it came across that he did not want to be there and he made that very clear to diners and his colleagues with his obvious rude comments under his breath and lack of care and attention to any customers, it wasn’t busy so there was no reason for this. As we say Tom was brilliant, attentive and knowledgeable about the area, he is a credit to his employers, the other members of staff could learn a thing or two from him.

Had lunch there today. Great value kids meal and the adults burger was fine. However the steak pie was awful - meat was tough. The 'seasonal vegetables ' was literally a bowl full of cabbage - NO other vegetables! Definitely not value for money - even though the surroundings are lovely.

Had Sunday lunch with the husband while passing through. Lovely setting, fab staff. The beers selection let the place down - they need to speak with Three Kings Brewery and Darwin Brewery to get that sorted out! Also the cutlery - knives didn't quite deal with the meat, could have done with steak knives instead. All in all a nice run out, reasonable prices.

Some food was great and had great flavour. My daughter had a kids roast, and her mashed potato’s tasted like someone had poured salt in them!! The service we got compared to others wasn’t great either. I had to go to the bar to ask to be served, whilst other tables had consistent service and a message about what’s on offer.

Just went to the restaurant at the Inn. Restaurant decor is very pleasant and the place has a nice vibe to it. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who explained the specials. Menu has a decent choice and is what you would expect from pub grub. However unfortunately would have to say the food is very mediocre, portions are small and our accompanying vegetables was just a small neatly stack pile of cabbage. We ordered a pie of the day and the shepherds pie. The shepherds pie was very bland and was trying to be fancy using a lamb shank but just meant that was pretty dry and it was full of bones. The pie of the day wasn't anything to write home about and only benefit really was not having to cook or do the washing up. It's a nice place to have a drink but wouldn't bother the food. As we were leaving I overheard the server telling another table that they'd ran out of 5 of the dishes on the menu, this was at 6pm on a Saturday!!

Had a meal here on Saturday with some friends. I chose the Moroccan salmon which was very tasty but very very small and definitely not value for money. My friends had fish and chips and burgers and pie which were all delicious and really good portion sizes. In comparison, my salmon looked like a starter. A few teaspoons of cous cous, a very small piece of salmon and 3 small pieces of calamari (I think?) no veg on the side. Would definitely not recommend this meal but the other meals were spot on.

Did not stay, just ate in restaurant. What a shame! Food was average and very overpriced for the portion size! Superfood salad with tofu £15.50 hardly anything on plate and 5 pieces of tofu (£5 extra!). Fish pie - very small dish, mostly potatoes, with a small pile of braised cabbage, that's it! £17.95!! Tiny sticky toffee pudd with ice cream and a scraping of sauce - £7.95 and pineapple tart and custard - also tiny - £7.95 Shame as the staff were nice and the service was good.

Food is pretty mediocre for the price. Looking at the menu online it sounded a lot better than what it was on the night. I don't know if it is chain of pubs but it had a spoons vibe to it. Menus they gave us were clarty as well and caked in food previously spilt on them. Makes you worry about the bigger hygiene picture behind the scenes. Had high hopes but was generally disappointed.

We stayed last weekend. My partner had booked it for my birthday. It was really disappointing. Check in was fairly quick, but there was a musty smell in the reception area. We got to the room, my partner mentioned he’d been told the ‘nicer’ rooms weren’t dog friendly so we had a small dark room, the room had a fan blasting on the bedside table and was very warm; not ideal for the dog. The room had tired elements such as paint needing touching up. Touches in the room for the dog were nice & dog menu was a great addition. We sat in the garden with drinks before dinner, when buying the drinks we asked a colleague how to get to the garden, it was a peculiar interaction of her giggling and saying through a door to the right- not how I’d describe it. Another colleague from reception (who was the only real grafter we saw the entire time!) took us through. We’d been told the fires were on, they weren’t and couldn’t get them started. No one around to ask. We went to dinner which was by far the worst experience. We were sat on a small uncomfortable table in the middle of a walkway. The restaurant was very hot throughout the meal. My partner changed my seat for me as the design of the seat had a bar protruding into my back. We waited 10-15 mins to order drinks and were given one menu to share. The decent colleague came to take our order and started by saying they’d ran out of several items which included focaccia, I asked if we could still get the pricey Camembert (£18) with a different bread, she said yes so we ordered Camembert and our mains. 10 mins later we were informed they’d ran out of Camembert and asked to review the other starters, all of which were abysmal so we said we wouldn’t bother. The decent colleague then offered sharer options from a different menu, we went with a meat & cheese board (£25), in fairness it arrived almost instantly, a very small portion of prosciutto, salami, mozzarella etc. I believe our mains had been sat waiting due to the starter issue, the plates arrived boiling hot and you can see the ‘skin’ over my peas, the chips were cold, as were my partners. My partner asked for a sauce. The dogs food didn’t come at the same time, we were told they’d be right back with both. The sauce took at least 10 mins, my partner had finished most of his meal. Dogs dinner arrived after we’d finished and was steaming hot so had clearly been forgotten. The whole evening all we saw was the decent colleague from reception running around trying to do everything and other staff standing like chocolate teapots. Waited for the plates to be cleared for a good while, no one came, by this point I was so uncomfortable on the awful chairs/table that I’d decided against desserts and just wanted to leave. Still no one came to clear plates. After at least 20 mins of waiting I went to the bar and stood waiting, one of the chocolate teapots was chatting at the bar, no acknowledgement at all, no sign of trying to wrap conversation up, at nearly 8 months pregnant & having been uncomfortable and very hot the whole meal I decided I wasn’t willing to wait anymore. We sat in the garden to finish our drinks, no lights & no fire pit. Then went back to the room, it was one of the worst nights sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel, the room was incredibly hot all night. My poor dog resorted to sleeping on the bathroom tiles. I woke up incredibly dehydrated as there was no water provided in the room. I decided to get ready quickly so we could do breakfast and just leave. The breakfast was average but absolutely the best part of the stay! The ‘selection of pastries’ on the bar was… croissants. The full English was decent. Items they’d ran out of continued, no sugar available. I understand this groups main focus is weddings, there’s clearly not a lot of consideration on the other bits. My partner paid over £250 for the night. It wasn’t worth it, we’ve stayed in much better dog friendly hotels. We got engaged this year, I had been following one of their venues but would never consider booking a wedding after this small experience we had.

food was okay very pricey, but waiter spilled toffee sauce on my expensive trousers, she noticed it as I saw her and decided to just brush it off and did not say anything to me. not even an apology.

Don’t normally leave reviews but feel service was so bad others should consider before booking. Got married at the chateau 6 years ago and this is the second time we’ve stayed since. First time was average but this time was very bad. Booked a dinner bed and breakfast package with a set menu. The advertised menu wasn’t available and we were told to pick what we wanted off the main. 2 hours and 2 courses later we asked for the bill as we couldn’t wait any longer to get dessert. Bill came to £65 for 2x two course and we were told we would have to pay the £5 difference as we only had £30 per head. The money is minimal but the service meant it was the principal. Advertised meal, still live and no comment on price online. Supervisor had awful attitude that we had been told (hadn’t even when asking) and that we are lucky as normal allowance is £27. Cheapest 3 courses off menu is £32 so impossible to be under the supposed allowance. Service from all staff was poor, we had to chase drinks and courses but supervisor blamed head office, media team, reception, implied we lied, blamed suppliers and then told us to raise it in the morning. Weddings (used to) run like clockwork but the bar/restaurants is the opposite. Badly run, poor service and awful attitude of staff. Wont be back and unfortunately would suggest others look elsewhere for their wedding

My partner & I decided to treat ourselves to a luxury stay overnight here on our way down to York. At first glance, we were delighted with the decor & setting. However, just as we arrived in the room, I found a pair of dried contact lenses on the bathroom floor. This made us question the level of cleanliness. We decided to put that aside & enjoy the rest of the stay. Our meal that night was average. The menu looked lovely, but the standard again was disappointing. My partner had to search for lamb in his lamb ragu & for £18 you would expect at least some meat. (I could not fault the house of staff that night, they were lovely!) Later that evening, I decided to run a bath in the luxury copper bath. The water at first looked to have a layer of cleaning product on top. Therefore, I let the water out & ran it again. While in the bath, there were small particles floating on top of the water, which again made me question the cleanliness. This made me exit the bath quickly & have a shower to feel clean again. This was extremely disappointing as the stay was almost £300 for the night!!! I left feedback on departure, but no one has been in contact, which is disheartening. Unfortunately, I wouldn't rush to stay again or recommend.

The food here is the worst I've had in a long time, the chips were soggy and dripping in grease, the fish batter was soggy. The sticky toffee pudding was beyond awful, like somehow much worse than supermarket quality. I wish we had sent it back and asked for a refund. The chef here has stopped trying. The service is also pretty bad

Birthday meal, we arrived to be told that two out of the four veggie options were not available so ordered the vegan fish and chips. Chips were nice but whatever the fish was made of was inedible, it tasted of battered nothing. Husband’s vegan burger came without promised coleslaw or vegan cheese. An hour’s drive to get here and could actually cry. Steer clear if you are veggie/vegan. £46 and I ate chips, and my husband had a bland burger. I encourage the chef to sample what we were served tonight and see if they would have been happy to spend nearly fifty pounds on it.
