Went to Taylor County Taphouse for a corporate event for my husband’s company. The food was excellent and the service was great! We will be going again!
They have a nice selection of beer, the food was good and the waitress was friendly. You can't really ask for more.
I have been going to the tap house for years. It is where we go when someone comes to town or when we celebrate something. The food is always delicious and the beer is always cold. Service has always been good, but last night the service was exceptional. The entire staff is great but Paige is an all star.
We had a great dinner here! We stayed at Abilene State Park and needed somewhere to eat since temps dropped so low at night. This place is a gem! I had the pastrami sandwich without Russian sauce or cheese with gluten free bun. I was told the fries were not gf but it’s bread that really is the issue so I’m happy we stumbled on this place. They have a wonderful bar, atmosphere, and specials.
Bartender was very friendly. Good service. Will definitely visit again
Great atmosphere! The servings were plentiful! Service was super friendly and attentive!
Steak Dianne cooked to a perfect medium. Crisp green beans and buttery mash potatoes. Chocolate cake with homemade ice cream. Spectacular.
This place never disappoints. Get the bacon wrapped quail and the devils huevos. I got the mutton las trip...perfectly cooked and tasty. I originally went here because they allowed my dog...I go back even without him. Kara was a good server.
Excellent food! Everything was on point! Super friendly staff that love what they do! I definitely recommend the chicken fried steak! The steak was so tender it melted in my mouth! Beer cheese soup is wonderful! Beer selection on tap here is second to none and I will definitely be back. Just need an excuse to drive the 175 miles to Abilene. A+++
Great people and great food! I have had the dinner menu and loved what I got but I took Tanner's advice and tried their Philly because I was not sure what to get and it was awesome! The bread was soft and of perfect consistency, the meat and fixin's were amazingly delicious! Enjoyed meeting Josh Robinson, the gently giant, who was waiting tables and busing just like his team! This was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience, no rushing and my friend and I enjoyed ourselves chatting away! I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Say hi to Josh and Tanner if you go at lunch and be rewarded with megawatt smiles! Please see the pictures for one of the guys, the lunch menu and a couple extra pics thrown in!
If you love craft beer like me, especially Stouts and Porters, they have an okay selection. Had the Southern Star Buried Hatchet...it was smooth and very tasty. Loved the appetizer "Sarins Hevous" kicked up to Devils style.... Not hot for a hot freak like me..but most people would think its hell fire!! Service was attentive and caring.. I will be back!!
I was on a business trip from Dallas and went here on a whim. It is truly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Now, two weeks later I keep wistfully thinking about the two excellent meals I had there, and wishing I lived closer. Absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation of the food. Fabulous beer selection too!
Visited for Brunch...Food was good, could of had a bot more eggs, but otherwise, great food. Fantastic atmosphere....Good staff
Quickly seated, cold outside but they had the enclosed patio warm and toasty. Ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they were Huge! Food was good and large portions. Ordered a couple of cocktails and they were delicious, not too strong but not too weak. Will eat here again.
Wonderful spot to eat. Delicious food. Friendly staff
My husband and I both agreed that this is our new favorite restaurant in Abilene! Our waiter was amazing and the whole atmosphere was perfect. Not too loud, not too quiet, and even a great place to bring kids! Every single item we got, whether it be the sausage & pretzel app, dips, chili, pasta, signature salmon, bacon brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, lemonade… EVERYTHING was a 10/10. There were so many good options that it took me forever to choose— and they have tons of gluten free options. My husband was pumped about the GF pasta! Even the people eating there were all super friendly and happy. It kind of felt like heaven for a night :D
Really good restaurant in southwest Abilene. Nice, varied beer menu, with reasonable priced cocktails. The patio has plenty of room. I'm also not a big fry person, but I easily ate half of my beer battered fries, without trying. The jalapeño ranch was a nice touch. My friend enjoyed the beer cheese soup in that you can actually taste the beer.
Excellent food and outstanding service, I would 100% recommend this place if you are looking for a fine dining experience. The food is a bit on the expensive side but it is worth it if you are looking for a date night, or looking for a place to drink a cold beer. They have a wide and fine collection of craft beers, wine, liquor, and even mead.
Stopped here during our roadtrip from Dallas to Phoenix and arrived just as they were opening. Our server was so welcoming and friendly and had great recommendations. They have an extensive beer list (of course, they are a tap house lol) with many local options as well as crowd favorites. I had the buffalo chicken sandwhich with fries and it was SO good. The fries were thick, which I love, and the ranch was creamy and delicious. The buffalo sauce was perfect and the chicken was so juicy. I wish I lived closer so I could come back again and again!
We absolutely love this spot! It is our go to when we want a good meal with great service. One of my favorite steaks in town!
While being on an overnight flight in Abilene, TX the hotel I was staying at had a very nice shuttle driver/ staff member that recommended me to try this Taphouse while n town. I'm so glad I did. My food, drinkz, n great service were n high supply during my stay. Everything was done perfectly. Can't wait for my next trip to Abilene. I'm definitely gonna try some of the other menu itemz.
The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection and delicious. The green beans and Mashed potatoes were sooooo good! I also had the Mac n cheese and keylime pie. The Mac n Cheese was far different from other places but really good. I absolutely LOVE the key lime pie. I 100 percent recommend this place!!!
Great service from our waiter, Cody. He was very informative and right on time with everything. The food was as good as the reviews online said it would be and the beer was worth stopping in the next time we drive through. The warm, relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed. We will be back!
Traveling and found this gem. Menu to serve a variety of palates! Excellent selection of craft beers, nice cocktail options. We had the Satan Huevos (good) Irish Nachos with Philly Cheesesteak (EXCELLENT), Chicken Fried Steak (not favorite) Staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place!!!!
As I live and breathe, this place appears to actually cook food. Sure tasted like it at least. Great French dip that did not taste like Sysco trash. Killer beer selection. Bartender was great and changed my life with the salted rim Dos Equis. Definitely coming back next time I’m in Abilene.
Love it Love it Love it such a fun place to Hang with family friends the Chefs are Amazing the food is delicious and the drinks and beer selections are crazy good. Highly recommend
We visited Taylor County Taphouse for the first time and it was amazing! We had a wonderful server, Chelsea C. She was funny, personable, informative, and welcoming. Her service was enough to make us want to return. The amazing food on top of that was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. We had the Texas version of the nachos, the blackened salmon pasta, and the 8oz steak. We will definitely be returning.
I didn’t like this place when it first opened. My wife suggested I try it again and glad I did. It was pretty darn good. We started with the Satans Huevos Deviled Eggs. They were great. A spicy little kick and a crunchy fried crawfish on top. Very unexpected nice flavor. I got the Chicken and Shrimp Pasta. The shrimp were huge and Chicken was nicely cooked. The Alfredo Sauce was very good. I got some toast to dip in the sauce and it was buttery and toasted perfectly. You can’t go wrong with this meal and I can’t wait to get back and try some different things. Also, worth mentioning was the service. Elizebeth was our waitress. She knew the menu very well and both of our choices were her recommendations. Spot on, she was on top of everything from the time we were seated.
Great place to go for brunch! Food is fantastic and the service is top notch. They also have the best bourbon selection in Abilene and really this part of Texas.
Awesome selection of spirits, fantastic food. Great place for a night out, or to start a fun weekend. The menu is well crafted and the kitchen obviously takes pride in the product.
One of my go to places in Abilene. I have been going there for years. I have consistenty had great meals and enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is always solid but last night, our server Nyah took it to the next level. The whole dining experience was phenomenal! Taylor County Taphouse keep it up!!!
My daughter and I stopped here while visiting Abilene. We split the ribeye steak and still took home enough leftovers for both of us and other meal. The bacon balsamic brussel sprouts were sent straight from heaven and I would drive all the way from San Antonio just to eat those again. But the best part was our server Brittany. She was such an angel...... Kind, considerate to my Celiac daughter, professional, and efficient. God bless you, Brittany. I hope you have a wonderful year.
Ate the best steak I've ever had in Texas here while storm chasing this May. I know you're gonna say, "but you haven't eaten at THIS place yet." Brother, believe me, I don't need to. Plus, we were there 30 minutes to closing on a stormy night had tremendous service and great conversations as well. Any time I'm eating dinner in Abilene, it's gonna be here.
You guys ought to come here if you are visiting Abilene. Their steak was on point and Amanda (our server ) was the most friendliest person I have met here. She knew the menue well and helped me make the best selections of my drinks. Great job Amanda ! You rock!!!!
Mason was fantastic! Very attentive & patient while our party settled in and decided on meals. He checked in repeatedly & refilled when necessary. Food was delish! My son’s steak was cook at the perfect temperature, Mason verified before leaving our table. Shrimp and grits, divine! The cheesecake was missing something, maybe a fruit drizzle but otherwise good. Tequila mockingbird was a great drink! One suggestion, if you have a large group make a reservation at least one hour in advance. The restaurant is small so you want to make sure to have a table for you. Otherwise, highly recommend!
Our server was Nyah and she was FANTASTIC! She is the perfect example of how a server should perform. She created our beautiful salads, but sadly I took a terrible photo. I'm so sorry! The food was excellent and served promptly. We had the signature salmon and it was great. We will put this place on our list of places to eat for sure! Thank you Nyah for your creativity and kindness.
It was always in my best practice to showcase my food whenever I visit somewhere. Today my tradition was broken! From the Bacon Wrapped Quail on a bed of cheese grits to start to the Wicked Chicken, my taste buds were given a delicious ride! Had never had grits or quail before, amazing! The smoked flavors were complimentary to one another. For once I feel the high prices are deserved, the quality of the food is unmatched! The service we received from Makenzie was welcoming, super friendly, very attentive. Everyone here are like a huge family, great teamwork, smooth flowing. Will definitely be back again.
If your looking perfectly crafted drinks and unbelievable food the TCT is where you need to be... My coworkers went around 5pm it wasnt that busy at the time so I feel like we got extra attention but Ryan made the absolute best old fashion with a twist (Tequila) instead of whiskey and it was to die for. I ate the Spicy Shrimp and Grits and OMG it was delicious. Definitely going back
Nice, cozy, and delicious joint. The food was absolutely staring. It was loaded with flavor cooked perfectly and very delicious. Heard about their bacon wrapped quail resting in a bed of hearty cheese grits, and it didn't disappoint. The smoked chicken was also delicious to the bone paired with some mac n cheese, brocolini, and mashed potatoes. Definitely give them a try, great for singles or on a date night. Place can be crowded due to its coziness and can be loud if there is a live band, so bear that in mind if you're not that kinda person. They also seem to have a changing special menu each week in addition to the regular menu. Service was friendly do give them a try. Quail serving in pic is the meal version, the original is listed under appetizers on the menu, which is 3 quails, but for i beleive $6 more, you can make it a 4 wrapped meal. Rushed pics. I was hungry, n it looked delicious, lol.
Had the devil's huevos, and pork tacos.. The appetizers were absolutely phenomenal all of the flavors came together wonderfully. The service was great our waitress was very kind and quick with everything. The tacos were also pretty good, the meat was a bit dry but otherwise very flavorful. And the French onion soup was sublime! I would happily visit here again
First and foremost make sure you call in advance and get a reservation otherwise you might not get a seat at the last minute. This place is so cool, the food is off the chain. I had the grits, definitely something that we don't eat in the west, since I'm from Utah, but a very common dish in the east. I had to try the grits and they were absolutely delicious. Some of my friends has other popular dishes as you see or reed in the menu. Everyone couldn't get enough of how delicious the food and service. So make sure to reserve a reservation and eat away at this awesome place.
The phenomenal Philly was fantastic. It is spicy and mixed with the queso, which makes it super tasty. The sausage appetizer is great but best suited for multiple people. It's a lot of food for a single person. Highly recommend this place. They messed up my order twice, but no one is perfect, and they were happy to fix it.
My husband and I went to Taylor County Taphouse for brunch and it was phenomenal! Our server was Michael B. He was AMAZING! Very friendly and attentive. Made sure we had everything we needed, and continued to check on us while we were there. He made sure our drinks were filled and even stopped what he was doing to converse with us. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. My husband and I have made this place our regular Sunday brunch spot! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out!

Food is great, especially their steaks and chicken fried steak. Friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.
Has great food and great service don't change a thing especially if you go there to irritate the service staff that's fun
Friendly staff, bountiful servings, great beer! Bartender was ver helpful with choices. Seasoned home fries were to die for!
1st time to visit the establishment and was very impressed with the menu and the prices. Everything on this menu is well thought out and I would like try to more. I had the half dozen oysters and the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Oysters were spot on and surprise to find here in this bland town. Every oyster was perfect. The pulled pork is probably the best in this town. Smoked, moist, flavorful, the fires were cooked perfect and tasted wonderful. 5/5 food. Service. Come on. It's just one dude, low maintenance sitting at the bar to eat (non drinker) but heavy tipper. To order or get my servers attention was frustrating as she was more focused on the regulars down the bar conversation about football. When I would get your attention your were short with me just trying to get an order in as your kitchen closes on 45 minutes and cooks area ready to go home on a Saturday night. I was never checked on to see how any course of my meal was, a refill on my soda, or I was thinking about another 1/2 dozen oysters. But tick tick tick... Inside if I could put in an order for the pork sandwich. Got a short reply from her, asked to please put bbq sauce and coleslaw on side. As not to drown the pork. The pork came out completely wrong so the kitchen refired it. From the response from the kitchen this seems like not the first or second time. The kitchen staff were 100% professional. Just disappointed as if was my first visit. Only reason I would comeback is the food was good. What happened to the service industry? Get out if you don't like it. I did 35 years as a pro Chef.
Great food, service was slow but not horrible, atmosphere outside is ok just bland, but the prices for a meal here have skyrocketed beyond their taste.
Taylor County Taphouse is a locally owned restaurant. We went at an off time and it was not very busy. We ordered drinks first and they were great! Very strong but great. The Ace Pear Cider was exceptionally good. Dry, fruity and delicious. The cinnamon orange Margarita was a strange combination but very good. The Tequila Mockingbird was good. Strawberry and Tequila was pretty good. Strawberry infused tequila gave a nice finish. Our last drink was The Gambler and it was the clear favorite. Forty Creek Whiskey and Grand Marnier with toasted orange. Sooo very great citrusy and boozy. The Satan’s Huevos were excellent. Deviled eggs topped with fried crawfish and a remoulade drizzle. Very tasty and would order again. The Low Country Shrimp and Grits wasn’t very good. It had way too many onions and scallions in the grits. I love silky smooth grits and these were not at all. The second dish we had was the Bat Out Of Hell Meatloaf. Best dish hands down! Two slices of meatloaf laying upon a bed of skin on mashed potatoes. We added broccolini to the side and while salty it paired well with the meat and potatoes. Lastly was the pulled pork sandwich. Smoky juicy goodness served with steak fries. The coleslaw which was more of an afterthought. Oily and strange. We then finished with 7 Layer Chocolate Cake and boy oh boy this was truly decadent without being too sweet or heavy. Next level great. The Bread Pudding was just okay nothing special. The staff was very good. No hovering but came around as needed. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. Definitely comes recommended. We will be back.
We got seated right away, nice atmosphere, our food tasted good, but double check the prices and look over your receipt. Our food was warm but not hot. They don't have any of their own beers, but several tap beers on tap. I heard a couple older couples say that they didn't care for their taste in music, but atleast it wasn't to loud. The staff was friendly.
I enjoyed the out door patio. I made a mistake on my drink list. They corrected with ease. The pickle beer given to me as a sample. The 4 horsemen drink was given to me at a reasonable price. The bar tender mixed my drinks with enough liquor and juice to not make the drinks unbearable. The food was cooked to my liking.
Our recent visit to the Taylor County Taphouse was pretty good. We stopped for lunch while on a trip back from Lubbock and dined on their heated patio. Being that it was Sunday, we ordered off the brunch menu which had plenty of solid options. I enjoyed the beer cheese soup and thought my biscuits and gravy were okay and would have been better had they been warmer. My wife had a gigantic club sandwich and really enjoyed it.
I would call this place a gastro pub. You enter what looks like a typical pub. You quickly find out it's not. Great beers on tap. Great beers in bottles. Quite good food is also available. Tried the philly cheese steak. It was tasty with a nacho cheese that had a kick. The French onion was good as well. The pork loin and hash were definitely worthy of coming back for another visit. Glad we came. Looking forward to the return visit. (add-on: was disappointed the pastrami sandwich was no longer available, because it sounded really good and was still listed on the menu. )
Good food, a bit pricey on steak. Buff chicken samdwich was large, not overly breaded, and tasty. The crispy brussel sprouts stole the show. Plus, who doesn't enjoy a good pint of Guiness!
Food was decent and fresh. I had the garden salad with chicken. The spicy blue cheese dressing was nice. My dinner mate had the cheese burger which was fine. Wasn’t expecting more than bar food, so wasn’t expecting fine dining. So we were pleased.
It was great overall. Food wasn't hot but I would try it again. It is a little pricey for what you get. The iced tea was the best part.
Peanut butter bacon burger is very good but could use a bit more peanut butter to get that unique flavor. The beer battered fries and sweet potato hash are amazing! The one major downside is the steaks - they're way overpriced by $10-20, and way smaller than they should be. I would not come here for steak. There are other more reasonable food options, and much more reasonable restaurants for steak.

Came for a steak and some beer but was eventually surprised in Texas by not having a good steak. Drinks where great and we got an appetizer instead.
Went today with my son at 3:00 pm. They were not busy, but we did not have great service. The queso was delicious. My son had the chicken fried steak, he said it was mediocre, but the fresh green beans were amazing! I had the pulled pork sandwich with “coleslaw.” It was less than desirable. The sauce tasted like it was from a bottle and the coleslaw was about two tablespoons of red cabbage with almost no flavor. My cranberry margarita was fantastic, as was the fresh lemonade.
Service was great.... really wasn't a big fan of the food I ordered. I had the chicken fried steak an that gravy was horrible. Also the queso dip was watered down an the salsa taste like chilli smh! Cheese sticks were great an the beer!
I’m on the fence on the rating and I wish there were 1/2’s because I really want to give this place a 3.5. The ambiance when you go in is a vibe. It’s rustic, has an upscale feel, and yields bold detailing. The selection of beers, whiskey, and bourbons are high end and plentiful. The mixed drinks leave a little to be desired but I personally have a high tolerance so it could work for others no problem. The TEXAS FRIES were absolutely delicious and loaded just right. The WINGS OF WONDER had two different textures. One was regular and the other was a double crunch that was super crispy but it did lack a little flavor which is the reason for the rating. The presentation was great and overall I enjoyed the experience. Just wish those wings came a little bit harder. Fun fact: The waitress told me that the owner owns a farm and that’s where the product comes from and he works both. It was nice to know that it’s a farm to table type establishment and I plan on going back and trying more of things.
Nice casual place for a variety of brews and good food. My steak Diane was cooked perfectly! The only thing lacking was customer service/atmosphere could have been better. I overheard gossiping between servers and one girl kept bumping into multiple guests which was distracting. She actually almost bumped into me while I was leaving too. My particular server was friendly though.
Our first visit to the Taphouse was great. A Friday night food was great service was wonderful and we were so impressed we brought the whole family to Sunday brunch. Won’t do that again. While Sunday brunch server was amazing, everything else was horrible. All the food was cold, salty, and the breakfast potatoes tasted like they were scraped off someone else’s plate. Cold dry and hard. Couldn’t even get a hot cup of coffee. We will keep looking for a great breakfast spot in Abilene. This ain’t it!
On a Road Trip passing through Abilene, I checked Reviews for our best Lunch option. We chose TCT. It was a disappointing and frustrating decision. Without knowing the Menu, we were confronted with making a decision on whether we wanted Brunch or Lunch before being seated. After being seated, we had a bit of a wait before a Waiter came. I asked what Beers were on Tap. He went to get a Menu, tossed in on our table and we never saw him again. I flagged down a Waitress and explained this to her, even though it wasn't her area. She apologized and happily took our orders and was very attentive to us. I had the Philly Cheesesteak which was one of the better ones that I have had, although it only had two pieces of red peppers. My Wife had the Club Sandwich which was ALL bread. The worst Club Sandwich I have ever seen. Also, the Beer I had was mostly flat.

We went to this restaurant with every expectation of having a lovely meal, with cocktails on the patio. The patio was quite busy. We saw another couple that we knew, who joined us. Since we had arrived first, we placed our drink order ordering two martinis. One dirty martini, the other martini olives with a twist of lemon. They brought the dirty martini out, but had to return the other because the waitress said there was something black floating in it. At this time, our friends joined us, each ordering a beer. When the waitress brought the two beers and the replacement martini(#2), no olives and no twist. We let the waitress know that the drink was not as ordered. She comes back to the table with another replacement martini (#3), still missing olives and a twist. A few minutes later, a man comes to the table, introducing himself as the bartender. He wants to know why his waitress is in tears crying. All four of us look at him in disbelief and puzzlement as to why a waitress would be crying when no one was rude or unkind to her. We explained what happened. The bartender was progressively getting more and more loud, aggressive, and punitive in his tone. He made me very uncomfortable. So much so, I was nervous and accidentally knocked over my drink as a result. Leaving glass and drink on the table and floor. At that point, the bartender threw the bill on the table, telling us they will not be serving us, and asked us to leave. This was a totally unnecessary, ridiculous display of unprofessional behavior. This place is sorely lacking in customer service. Totally 100% ridiculous. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
I would like to start off by saying I'm not a Texas native, and this restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in Texas. My fiance and I love getting flights, mixed drinks, and a shrimp and grits with the German sausage as an appetizer. However, we went up to Abilene one last time before we left to get our engagement photos done and we sit at the bar the female bartender who's extremely past aggressive we are assuming it's because they were short staff today but was not pleasant did not greet us properly My fiance asked for a mixed drink and the female bartender made the drink put a straw in the drink, took the straw out and licked it and then proceeded to put the straw back in the drink and then serve us the drink. We don't know if she was being lazy and just wanted to try the drink or if it was a middle finger for whatever reason. Regardless we told the manager and immediately left we will never go back and we recommend that nobody else does either
Appetizers were cold. Steaks were not cooked to our request, salad had watery dressing. This place is off our list. For 57 dollars a ribeye not a place to get a steak.
I visited Taylor County Taphouse yesterday with a friend, and the experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating from start to finish. We ordered the Salmon entrée, an Egg appetizer, and the French Dip. After placing our order, we waited over 20 minutes for the food to arrive. In the meantime, we politely requested some bread while we waited, only to be told there was none available. We then inquired about the availability of French toast, and upon confirmation, we decided to order one. The Salmon, which was priced at nearly $32, was requested with a substitution of mashed potatoes in place of rice, and a salad as the second side. When the dish arrived, we were extremely underwhelmed. The portion of salmon was shockingly small and poorly prepared—it was overcooked, dry, and unpleasantly tough to chew. The herb salad was merely a couple of spoonfuls, lacking any substance. I’ve tried salmon at almost every reputable restaurant in Abilene, and this was, by far, the most disappointing—especially given the steep price. To make matters worse, we were overcharged on the bill for the mashed potatoes (which were clearly a substitution, not an add-on) and the French toast. When we brought up these concerns to our server, she seemed indifferent and dismissive. We then asked to speak with the manager, hoping for a resolution, but her demeanor was even more unprofessional and condescending than the server’s. This establishment clearly lacks basic standards of customer service and integrity. It feels like the primary goal is to take advantage of customers rather than offer quality food and respectful service. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, and I will not be returning.
Came for breakfast and it was just horrible. Order breakfast and Brioche with potatoes and it was literally a BURGER! I most definitely did not want a burger for breakfast! It also was so dry and the potatoes were just not good! I asked for a regular breakfast bowl and got that instead. Well come check time they still charged me for the horrible breakfast that I did not eat! If they were going to charge me they could of left the plate for us to take home. Someone in my house would of ate it. I'm most definitely not ever returning here for breakfast or Dinner.
When I got there me and my girlfriend sat down and waited for 30 min and never got served. There was no one in the restaurant this entire time. No one even brought us water or asked for drinks. We eventually left and were not even said goodbye to.
We’ve been regulars for ten plus years. We enjoy Sundays because the special is something that isn’t always on the menu. My husband wanted to order the fried chicken and instead of getting sides, replace it with a small side salad. The waitress said that wasn’t possible. She didn’t even bother to ask the manager on duty. We’ve recommended this place to so many and for them to not accommodate one simple request (that we would have gladly paid for) was the final straw. We won’t be back.
It would be 0 stars but you have to put something— We were seated immediately BUT we never even got our drink order taken after sitting there 5-10 minutes and every & I do mean every server walked by our table at least 3 times (yes I counted). Terrible way to do business
With high expectations, I searched online for a gluten-free restaurant for my wife, and the menu here appears to be a good option. We placed our order and started with chips and queso, which seemed easy enough; however, as my wife began eating, our server rushed out to inform us that the chips weren't gluten-free, leaving her embarrassed with a mouthful of food. the menu clearly marks this item as gluten-free. To some, this is no big deal, but to those with celiac disease, it's poison. the server told us they would comp her a beverage; i had to speak up for them to take the chips and queso and remove it from the bill. the only bright spot here was the server. (Management couldn't be bothered to apologize!)
Awful food and service. 👎🏾Will not be back here. 🤷🏾♀️They keep you waiting way too long. Almost like, they ignore you if you are not with a group or something like that. Too many times I have had to ask when someone was going to come to my table and take my damned order. 🤷🏾♀️Gosh!!!! 🤔What sense does it make that I have to ask when there are plenty of employees out on the floor or in the back, but yet won’t at least get you started with a drink or something. 🤷🏿♀️If they are not assigned to your area, they will not assist you even though they are standing around doing nothing or prioritizing wiping down the tables as if they don’t see you looking around patiently waiting for someone to come to your table and get you started. Does not seem to have a customer’s first mindset at all. The food isn’t even that appetizing. After eating that Cajun shrimp & grits, I ended having an upset stomach & went running to the bathroom. 👎🏿Hopefully, that’s not a regular reaction to that particular dish. Who knows?🤷🏿♀️Anyhow, that’ll be my last time eating that or anything at Taylor Tap House. I’m straight!🙅🏿♀️I’m good!🙅🏾♀️The server that finally came out, seemed bothered that she had to take my order and she may have been taking my order more so out of obligation. Maybe because, I wasn’t with a group. One server who wasn’t assigned to my area seemed mad all because I asked her when was someone going to take my order. 🤷🏿♀️The anger was clearly seen all over her face. She wasn’t even professional enough to be neutral. She took it so personally instead of just prioritizing being a good representation for the business. Another person was just wiping down the table right next to me and talking to someone who seemed to be a regular customer or someone he knew. Not taking their order or anything, just conversing. He didn’t bother to greet me or ask if I had already gotten started. It was just nonsense and ridiculous. I don’t recommend going to this place especially if you’re military or veteran. Hopefully, this review motivates them to step up their food quality and customer service skills because they’re clearly lacking. They are also lucky that I still tipped after waiting for so long for someone to start with my table. Won’t be back, ever. Love, Light, Peace, Kindness, Blessings, Care, Community, Service No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
