Opinions de Lim's Kitchen Albans
On my way home from work, without much expectation, I stopped by here and ordered Korean army soup and spicy tuna kimbap. It took about an hour to get home, and upon tasting the food, I was genuinely surprised. It was delicious. It's been a while since I've had such a fulfilling dinner. The Korean army soup had an excellent balance of flavors and was enriched with various ingredients. The noodles were served separately, allowing me to enjoy them without getting soggy in the broth. As for the kimbap, it had just the right amount of spice that anyone could enjoy, and the ingredients inside were harmoniously balanced. Passing by the area frequently, I never knew such a place existed. It didn't catch my eye, making it feel like a secret gem to me. It turned out to be tastier than I expected."
Lim's kitchen is a Korean restaurant with good prices, authentic food and great service. I come here during my lunch break and they often throw in an extra item with my meals, portions are generous, and food comes out quickly
I was here with my friends on Sunday. The food was Amazing. The server was kind and friendly. Thier fried chicken is the best. They have decent variety of soju and korean beer.
As a Korean, I’m always hesitant to get Korean food in Manhattan. But I must say this place definitely fulfilled my cravings. Their portions are huge and the owners are so nice. They even gave me a free can of Korean soda! Definitely check it out if you’re in the neighborhood :)
Open during snow storm and food was quite good.
Very excited to have Lim’s kitchen in the neighborhood. We ordered take out and got the spicy tuna kimbap and a kimchi pancake, both were fresh and delicious! My wife is Korean and says this is her new favorite Korean food in the neighborhood, hidden gem for sure!
Great kimchi soondubu (soft tofu)! My go to take out order on a chilly winter night. Love that they have an option with just kimchi and no pork added as most places offer kimchi jjigae with pork. Also ordered from them for office lunch which everyone loved. The two vegetarian kimbap were great and so was the japchae.
This place is great, a true hidden gem. We have been going essentially since they opened. Everyone working at this charming place is lovely. The food is excellent, too. The soft tofu vegetarian stew is a go-to order and I recommend asking that they make it spicy for you. They use different broths for different stews so if you have dietary restrictions, ask.
I am so excited they opened because this neighborhood is severely lacking in Korean food. Second time ordering from here because the food is great (ordered spicy tuna kimbap - came with clear soup and kimchi jiggae - came with rice, and some banchan) and service is great. Even included a milkis can for free! They’re not super busy but deserve to be. Need more marketing and should target the Korean embassy by the UN.
The tteokbokki here is sooooo good! It’s the best tteokbokki I’ve ever had, I highly recommend!! The other dishes here are good too!
Definitely a good spot to get your Korean food fix. I’d order from here as the restaurant itself while functional doesn’t have a great dine in option and you might be the only group there. That being said, great to have Korean food of a pretty high quality in an area that doesn’t have a ton of options that aren’t a chain! Plus beats the crowds and wait times of koreatown!
I moved into the area and was glad to see Korean food near me. I had the spicy pork and my girlfriend had the soondubu. Both were awesome! Highly recommend will be back soon!
Really enjoyed the two meals I've had here. First was a bulgogi rice dish, and tonight was soy garlic wings - this place deserves plenty of business. Love their personal touch and friendliness, hoping to go eat in the restaurant as well soon!
I'm obsessed with this place - hands down the best korean food you can find in the city. It's a little hidden and out of the way, so you may miss it if you aren't looking for it. Staff are friendly, food is incredible. Delivery is also great and they don't skimp on portions. Cannot recommend the kimbap or the budae-jjigae enough!
I’m in town for work for two weeks and this place happens to be right next to my hotel, I’ve now eaten here twice, and will probably eat here again before I leave. I’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for authentic Korean this is the place. Everything from the kimchi fried rice, fried chicken, kimbap, japchae and banchan are so good. The second time I ordered to go and the food was fresh. 10/10 recommend!
As a Korean, this place gets my official seal of approval! 🇰🇷 The second I tasted the banchan, I knew I was in for a treat. I’ve been searching for authentic, home-style ddeokbokki forever, and I finally found it here. The kimbap is absolutely massive, too! I’m already planning my next visit to tackle the rest of the menu.
As someone from Korea, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. I live nearby and often stop by for dinner on my way home from work. I've tried many of the different dishes on their menu, and they are surprisingly delicious. I was especially blown away by the Kimchi Jjigae; it was made the way my mother used to make it back in Korea, with pork and glass noodles (dangmyeon). This little jewel of a restaurant is so much better than most restaurants in K-Town that only sell inauthentic and expensive Korean food.
I ordered tofu stew with beef. It’s very delicious. Quite authentic Korean flavour. The waitress was very friendly. I strongly recommend this place. I will definitely go there again!
Uber eats this place. And do it in quantity. It’s fun and they have a great variety
The best Korean restaurant in Murray Hill hands down!!! My Korean partner swears by this restaurant. Super authentic and great way to support mom and pop stores. Best kimbap, japchae, fried chicken and soondubu. I ordered several times on Ubereats and they always deliver way faster than expected and the food is always hot. You can feel the authenticity in the food, everything freshly made. Strongly recommend!
The food was all tasty with generous portions! Service is also great. I was waiting for less than 5 minutes and the man gave me a free soda as an apology for “keeping me waiting”. I’d say the prices are more than fair. It’s a great spot to go if you live in the area and don’t want to go all the way to KTown or queens for Korean food
I loved eating here! 🤤😍🤩 The food was soooo delicious and the service was excellent! It made our NYC trip totally worth it. If I could give it more stars I totally would. I forgot to take a picture of the food before eating it all because I was too hungry and it looked and smelled so good I totally forgot to grab my phone to take a picture. Lol! I think it says it all. 😂😂
Feb update: 1/ didn’t love the scallion pancake. Way too much dough compared to seafood and scallion. I’d rather order it from Pocha 2/ kimchi gimbap was fantastic 3/ tteokbokki - great. I felt like there was more food the first time ordered it… but maybe I’m wrong. — Jan: What a pleasant surprise! Get your Korean food here. Ordered tteokbokki and tuna gimbap on Uber eats. I’ve ordered tteokbokki from various restaurants like Pocha, Sam Sunny, soju haus, gochujang, etc.. This is probably the closest style to traditional tteokbokki. So good! Nitpick feedback would be that it can be a liiiitle less sweet and more spicy. Gimbap was great too. Not salty at all. Tastes like homemade gimbap. No frills. Which I like.
Fast, impeccable service, very tasty food, excellent value for money. Perfect for eating in, not only the take-away. We were exceptionally pleased to receive outstanding vegetarian dishes at a very moderate price. Best luck to the team of Lim's Kitchen!
My prayers have been answered: a good Korean restaurant in Midtown East! 🙏 Ordered delivery for my first try so can't comment on restaurant itself, but food was great and will definitely be going here again. Fantastic and crunchy fried chicken, even delivered - can only imagine hot out of the fryer. Could stand its own in K-Town. Great sauces too. Kimbap was tasty and came in a good variety of options, including a tasty spicy squid (not usual) option. Bulgogi wasn't the most flavorful but appreciate the perfectly cooked rice and toasted sesame. Seafood soondubu came in a great portion, plenty of tofu and spicy to my liking (although couldn't specify the spice level, I like my food on the spicier side and this was just right). Even the egg wasn't overcooked! Perhaps added it right before delivery? Broth was a bit bland but helped by some salt (would recommend 800° Korean sea salt 😁). Have been waiting for this place to open for ages and it was so worth it!
Omg the kimbaps are HUGE. All orders come with soup which is so noice. The chapjae was so saucy and delicious and boy the kimbaps were the real star so filling and flavorful. Little hold in the wall type place iykyk. And as everyone said very authentic taste with reasonable price.
Gigantic portions and delicious. Ordered the small, spicy KFC and the rice cake/sausage skewers. The amount of food is going to feed me for days.

Went with a few friends to get authentic korean food! Was an amazing experience with great service and a casual dining experience. More people need to know about this place!
Such a cute vibe and literally the BEST Korean food. I’ve been here 5 times already this past month and love their kimbab, fried chicken, spicy rice cake and pork dishes!!! 100/10!
Hidden gem in midtown east. Jesse’s service was amazing and the food came out so fresh. I love that they put so much effort into making the food fresh to order and it came out delicious! The fried chicken was amazing. Definitely coming back soon

I went here for late night cravings and i loved it. The server was so nice. The food was amazing. I got the tteokbokki and the tuna kimbap. I stongly suggest going!
Delicious beef soon tofu. Nice atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. So glad I found this place.

Came here for a quick team lunch and enjoyed how cozy it was! Good: - Good portion sizes - I liked the jjajyeon noodles a lot - great texture and also huge portion size - The kimbap was good but a bit flavorless - The kimchi pancake was super tasty! - Good value and the staff were nice Bad: - Took a bit for the food to all come out - The banchan was a bit small Overall this was a cute place tucked away and would try more stuff here.
Decent food for a no frills type of place. The jjamppong soup was good though the noodles were very flaky. Preferred it over the spicy squid, which was on the sweeter side. Overall both dishes had a twist that didn’t taste completely authentic but were enjoyable nevertheless.
Overall, this was a really good place, too. My only gripe, which im sure was an outlier for the night I was there, was that they were criminally understaffed in the front of the house. The server was very kind and attentive and handled the situation as best as he could, but it was very obvious he was overwhelmed running back and forth to help dining in customers and delivery service workers. Besides that, the food was amazing. Served hot and full of flavor. It was amazing for the cold, wet weather that plagued the outside. I would love to go back and try other dishes they have in the future.

I use to always get take out from here, and ordered through uber eats. I got the kimchi fried rice. I was expected spam with my rice since that’s what uber eats said it comes with but instead they have bacon pieces. I’m not a fan of bacon so I do feel like my meal was a little ruined, had they updated their menu on uber eats I would’ve gotten something else…

Overpriced for mediocre tasting food and small portions. I ordered the spicy squid meal and my friend the bulgogi meal. Both were at best "OK". My squid pieces were super small, the radish side dish seemed old, and the macaroni was weird, we didn't even eat it. And we were both not pleased after spending $50 to still be hungry afterwards. Can't say anything about the restaurant itself as we ordered delivery.
I’m a regular here (been here/ordered from here for 10+ time) and I couldn’t be more disappointed with my lunch today. Honestly the food was always overpriced for its quality and the atmosphere but it’s hard to find a Korean restaurant in this area so I’d say it’s fair. Today, I waited for 30 minutes for cold tofu soup which had raw egg in it and the egg was still RAW when I finished eating. And I realized one young Asian lady is the ONE AND ONLY staff for the whole restaurant, she was taking care of serving food, making food( more like heating up the pre made food), and cashier job. It’s not a massive restaurant but one person clearly is not enough to take care of all these duties. Poor service l and food quality needs to be improved and honestly, I don’t think I’ll come back.

I ordered take out but when I picked up my food the ambiance was like an Indian restaurant and there was nobody there even though it was dinner time. The food was average and the katsu did not have flavor. The fried chicken could have used more salt and more flavor.
Disappointed by Dishonest Service and Lack of Accountability I had an extremely disappointing experience with both the restaurant and Uber Eats customer support. I canceled my pickup order less than a minute after placing it and immediately called the restaurant to confirm the cancellation. I spoke with someone I believe was named Sorus, who initially agreed to help and seemed understanding. However, when the Uber Eats agent joined the call, Sorus changed his story and falsely claimed the food had already been prepared. Realistically, preparing two full orders in under a minute is implausible—especially for a scheduled pickup with no delivery or courier involved. This contradiction felt dishonest and manipulative. It’s incredibly frustrating that I was charged the full amount despite such a prompt cancellation and immediate follow-up. It seems unreasonable and unfair that their system does not allow for flexibility in situations like this, where the order clearly hadn’t been fulfilled in any meaningful way. I urge others to be cautious when ordering from this restaurant. If a business is unwilling to act in good faith and prioritize customer service—even when the customer has not received any part of their order—it raises serious concerns about their values.
I ordered the spicy pork over rice and the jjajang sauce over fried rice and got food poisoning from their food. The pork was salty and the jjajang sauce was too sweet. ’m pretty sure all of the meat was spoiled, and they just overseasoned it to cover the fact that the food is spoiled, and because it’s overseasoned, they don’t know that the food is spoiled. This place needs to close down asap.
Had the bimbimbap today and noticed some of the produce had an “off” taste (I believe it was the onions but could’ve been the carrots or mushrooms). Had hoped it was just my imagination but had food poisoning symptoms soon after.
