Opinions de Salt and Olive Alhambra
I ordered food to go and as soon as I walked in I regret not sitting down to eat. The atmosphere and decor were simple and amazing. The servers were friendly and helpful as soon as I walked in. But...the FOOD. I ordered the mediterranean chickpea salad with chicken. I took one bite and was instantly in food heaven. It is colorful, flavorful, light, and just everything I wanted and everything I didn't know I did want. I am glad I got food from here during my business trip.
This place is so cozy yet open and airy. My goodness the color in the Mediterranean chickpea salad was something to be excited to dig into. The service was also inviting and fun. Lots of smiles and fun interactions. I wish I lived closer to come here more often! Teddy Bear, our waitress, was the best!!
I was driving through Glendale and wanted to eat something fresh and healthy. Saw this spot on YELP so I had to try it out. I was greeted by the friendly staff and took me in right away. Our waitress was super helpful and recommended some dishes. She was happy to work there. The atmosphere is really pleasant and relaxed. Now the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the big hummus plate to start with. The hummus and the white sauce tasted so good. We got it with the fried pita bread. 10 out of 10! For the main dished we got a Shish Kebab and Chicken bowl. Both were absolutely amazing and it came with your choice of salad and rice. 🍚 This is by far one of my favorite Mediterranean Food spots in Glendale! Highly recommend it.
Loved this place! Every component that I look for when reviewing is great. (1) Atmosphere - great. Loved the decor, plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. (2) Service - super. Very friendly, fast and accommodating to our requests. (3) Food taste - pretty good! Not amazing but above average. (4) Meal size - amazing! Wow! So much food on the plate. (5) Price - very reasonable. Cheap to normal price ranges. A rare 5-star that has it all! Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be going back when I’m in the area.
I’m OBSESSED with Mediterranean food, and this place is hands down my fave!! 🔥 Everything on the menu is chef’s kiss and the portions are HUGE. Their kebabs? Insane. The Greek salad and pita bread? Sooo good ! But the real game-changer? The fried cauliflower appetizer—trust me, you need to try it. And the servers were sooo nice—it just made the whole experience even better! 🥰✨ I literally have to come here at least once a month. 10/10, my ultimate comfort spot! 💖
Our waiter was so energetic and kind. She explained the menu and gave us great suggestions. The classic hummus and pita bread were SO good. The portion sizes of the plates are huge and great for leftovers. Everything was so delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and the decor is simple, yet elevated. Would definitely recommend and will 100% be back.
We ordered the boneless chicken kebab plate with brown rice and the house salad, along with the jewel salad and 3 lemon waters (complimentary). The portions were huge and easily filled up our party of 3. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place!
Salt and Olive is our go to spot for Mediterranean food! We always feel welcome when we come in, and the service is consistently great. The food never disappoints, it’s always fresh and full of flavor. I usually get the boneless chicken kebab with basmati rice and Greek salad (no olives) the meat is always juicy and cooked perfectly. We came by again today and Allison took care of us. She was super friendly and made sure everything was spot on. You can tell everyone here works hard and genuinely cares about their customers. We’ll definitely keep coming back!
Loved everything about this place. There is a lot of Mediterranean choices in Glendale, but you gotta get in here! The atmosphere is very nice and casual. My service was excellent. The food was incredible. I had the chicken kabob. The chicken was so moist and flavorful. The veggies were great. The salad was also so tasty. Oh, I also had the Koobideh Wrap and a side of lentil soup. The wrap was delicious and the soup did not disappoint. I have zero complaints. On top of all that, it is very reasonably priced.
Best mediterranean restaurant in LA. Yes, is that good. The chicken kebab was SO soft! The onion and grilled tomato my mixed perfect! Everything perfectly cooked and the appetizer combo was delightful, different concept of pita bread and hummus but i loved them both! This place is a 10/10 and we will be back very soon !!!
Tzatziki... amazing. Labneh... next level. Chicken, cooked perfectly. Rose lemonade, perfect amount of tart and sweet. Service sooo kind and all the food so excellent. I live in Seattle and I wish there was a Mediterranean restaurant half this good...
Ordered Falafel Plate, Koobideh Wrap, Beef Koobideh Plate, and a Grilled Chicken Wrap. Group all agree this was a fantastic meal at a very quaint restaurant. I had the Koobideh Wrap which was ground beef and a side Barley soup. The soup was very rich and thick with nice portions of barley, chicken, lentils, and beans. The koobideh wrap was meaty, with satisfying mix of beef and greens inside. The falafel was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Atmosphere is really great indoors and outdoors, it's tastefully decorated and the location is convenient though parking may be a challenge (they offer some parking validation). Can not go wrong with what we had ordered and we were very enamored by the service.
My wife and I went to try this location. It is Hispanics mother's Day and we arrived around 11 AM. We waited for a bit but were quickly greeted and seated by Teodosia (a welcoming positive high energy woman!) She speaks español! She explained some dishes and the items we went with were not disappointing. My wife went with boneless chicken kebab (awesome portions). It was joined with a house salad, basmati rice, and a rose lemonade. I enjoyed the combo kebob. I had brown rice, Greek salad, and a lavender lemonade. We enjoyed a small hummus and garlic pita to start. Warm to the touch and the condiments level was balanced. Many pictures of the dishes are on point! I will be bringing my kids here to eat as well in the near future! Thank you and God bless!
I met several friends for a lunch this afternoon and it was very enjoyable. I had the falafel wrap and I was just delighted. A little bit of crunch on the outside and just a nice medium soft texture and the inside. Prices were good and the service was very good.
This place is the perfect lunch spot! Kelly was EXCEPTIONAL! The chicken wrap was one of the best things I’ve ever had in my mouth.
Stopped by this place after a hike. We both tried the combo kebab plates. The combo isn’t on the regular menu so you will have to ask for it. The kebabs were cooked to perfection. It appears they use chicken tenders for their chicken kebabs. It made for a really tender kebab! The plates were loaded. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. I would definitely come back for this plate. We also tried the fried potato appetizer. They were good, but they really just look like breakfast. Potatoes tossed in oil and herbs. Delicious, but I would say overpriced for what they were. Our server was nice, engaging and playful.
Delicious Mediterranean food in a casual atmosphere. Another plus is their dog-friendly covered patio! The chicken kebab was juicy and flavorful, dips were all tasty, and everyone else seemed to enjoy their plates as well. Parking garage in the back was easy and free for 2 hrs with validation from the restaurant.
Service is amazing, the food is even better. The flash fried cauliflower and dates was satisfying with a hint of sweet tang. The steak is cooked to perfection. The chicken is nicely flavored. Enjoy myself every time.
Had a fantastic brunch at this Mediterranean restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed family gathering. Parking is convenient with a 90-minute validation, which is a big plus. Highly recommend the lavender lemonade, refreshing and unique. The chicken bowl was a standout: tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. The beef plate was also excellent, full of rich flavor. If you’re in the mood for a classic brunch option, the croissant with eggs hits the spot. Overall, a great spot for brunch with something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!
I was passing through Glendale and was craving Mediterranean Food. Saw all the great reviews so I gave this place a try. I was greeted with a friendly staff. Our server was super helpful and answered all the questions we had and recommended dishes to us. We ended up getting a Shish Kebab, Chicken Bowl, and Hummus Platter with everything. Everything we had there was absolutely delicious and healthy. All the ingredients they put into the dishes were fresh and healthy. One of the best spots I had in Glendale.
Very good quality food for the price! Glad there is a Mediterranean option in Glendale. That’s so approachable.
My wife and I were in Glendale overnight from Vegas and wanted a quick and reasonably priced dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the beef and chicken Shish Kebab plates and the quality, portions, and price were unbelievable!!! Daniel was our server and his attentiveness and authentic joy topped off our experience. Highly recommend Salt and Olive.
Chicken kebab plate with DOUBLE CHICKEN. Came out to $30. Sooo worth it. Best chicken i ever had. And my server was so funny and nice. Thank u! The 4.6 ratings this spot has is well deserved. 5+++
The food is above and beyond delicious! I got the chicken kabob plate, the salmon plate, and two Greek salads. Loved every bite! The servers were friendly. The man that took my order at the front who’s a little older with gray hair I think he was either the manager or owner was a little bit rude and stand offish for my hospitality. I almost didn’t order because of his attitude. But glad I looked passed his energy and ordered food for my son and I. The salmon plate for my 15yr old son was less food than the chicken kabob plate I’m not too sure if it’s normally that size. Put I took pics to compare. Overall will be coming here regardless of the bitter manager/owner. Food was great in my opinion. Also the ambiance is really nice. The restrooms were clean.
They were so accommodating and turned down the fans when I was moving my seat because it was drying out my contacts. I didn’t even know that was an option and appreciated the thoughtfulness! The whole restaurant is decorated so beautifully and it was a nice ambiance. Their prices are so great ($11-$13) and the portions are big! Parking is a bit rough (there is some parking for 2 hours on the street if you can find some, but you also need coins for the meter). There is a 90 minutes Free garage at "400 -450 NW" on Milford Street. We tried the chicken bowl (such a great portion with a delicious avocado salad) and salmon plate. Their hummus is sooo good (it’s more creamy and has more of a garlic flavor to it). The garlic potatoes were amazing too! I would definitely come back, great service and great food and prices!

The food was delicious, the staff were nice and the prices affordable. I did have to wait a little bit to get my order taken but the food was well worth the wait :).
Great ambiance! Fantastically delicious food with wonderfully friendly and gracious staff!!! Zusu was especially sweet, bringing a bowl of water for my maltipoo Kimo! My family and I ate in the beautiful foyer area that is a covered outdoor patio sheltered from the wind and street traffic noise. Also very impressed at how thoughtful they are with their disability access (a front entrance w/c elevator alternative to the front steps, & spacious disability toilette stall). Dessert-wise: their freshly homemade pistachio ice cream was amazing!!!
Love this place. They are always so kind and warm. Food is fantastic. Healthy. I am always happy coming here and I make a point to meet a friend for lunch here frequently. Nice outside sitting which is always shaded as well as inside seating. This is a hidden gem though not so hidden.!! definitely recommend
If you’re looking for a solid Mediterranean spot in Glendale, Salt and Olive is the place to go. I stopped in recently and was immediately hit with such a good vibe—the place is beautifully decorated and has this warm, welcoming energy that makes it great for a business lunch or just a relaxed dinner. They’ve even got a nice outdoor patio if you want to catch some fresh air. The food is top-tier, and you can tell everything is fresh and made with quality ingredients. One of the best parts, though, is that they actually make the Glendale parking situation easy. If you’ve ever tried to find a spot on Brand Blvd, you know it’s usually a nightmare, but they offer 90-minute validation for the garage right behind the building. It’s a huge relief to not have to circle the block five times or stress about a meter. Between the easy parking, the killer food, and the overall atmosphere, it’s definitely become one of my favorite local gems to hit up when I'm in the area for a project.
We celebrated my mother’s birthday here last weekend and we are all so glad we did! Troy and our waitress (kills me that I forgot her name 😭) were so incredibly accommodating and lovely. The food was *chefs kiss* delicious. Being a large group (9 total) we were not sure how to handle our orders and were so relieved to learn about the larger group preset menu. The variety, quality and quantity we received was perfect. Highly recommend!

My family and I have been coming here for about a year now and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was very uncomfortable. We were a group of eight, including friends and family visiting from out of state, and the checks were separated. Afterward, our waitress started complaining about the tip — something I’ve never experienced before at any restaurant — and continued to complain non-stop as we were trying to leave. Tipping is custom and should never be something a server complains about directly to guests. It was embarrassing and made everyone feel uncomfortable. We still enjoy the food, but I really hope management addresses this so other customers don’t have to experience the same thing.
Food was excellent, the amount of pita to hummus/ yogurt dip ratio is off. Service was bit slow but worth it. Super kind staff , atmosphere 10/10.
This place is usually very good and I would go here with my family to sit down and eat. However today I ordered takeout and it kind of pissed me off because look at how skimpy this little steak plate is. Other than that, order the chicken kabob, its usually much better. Its probably not meant for takeout but its more disappointing than anything because their portions are much more reasonable in shop.

Food was good, but the best things about Salt & Olive are atmosphere and service. The baba ganoush was a bit strange compared to the many I’ve tried, but not bad. Hummus was good. Beef koobideh plate I had was good with generous portions. Service was excellent (we had a party of 6) and dog friendly covered patio was very nice. Why did I only give 4 stars? I’m a food first reviewer for restaurants. While food was good, it wasn’t stand out.

Salt & Olive offers a dining experience that, while satisfactory, doesn't particularly stand out in a crowded culinary scene. The service at the restaurant is very good—prompt and courteous, making the dining experience pleasant. However, the menu feels quite common, lacking unique dishes that might entice a diner to return frequently. They also offer a range of drinks and cocktails, which could be a draw for those looking to enjoy a beverage out, though these too align with the more standard offerings one might expect at any typical dining establishment. The quality and taste of the food were okay, but again, nothing distinguished the dishes from what you might find elsewhere. Constructively, I would suggest that Salt & Olive could benefit from introducing some signature dishes or unique culinary twists that could define a more distinctive dining narrative. Such additions might create a more memorable experience that encourages repeat visits. Overall, it's a competent venue, but with some creative adjustments, it could truly shine.
The menus pictured here are old, they don’t have gyros and prices have gone up! That being said, our server was very friendly. Potato appetizer needed a dipping sauce, we didn’t love that. But entrees were tasty and healthy.

Not bad food. Casual atmosphere. Good service. Food seems fairly well prepared, but nothing special. Our plates were pretty good, but proteins were dry and overcooked. It wasn’t too bad, but we won’t return.
Worst dining experience ever! Our guests were accused of being drunk, another guest got 3 salads before the right one was given. The manager came over to inspect us and see if we were drunk when we only just sat down and hadn't even gotten water! Beautiful atmosphere but we won't go back.
The biggest issue here isn’t just the mistakes — it’s the complete lack of accountability. When problems happened, there was no real effort to fix them or make things right. It felt like poor service is just normal here. The atmosphere tries to present itself as upscale, but the experience doesn’t match the image. When you’re charging premium prices, you need premium service and food to back it up. That simply wasn’t the case. Between the disorganization, questionable charges, and underwhelming quality, it feels like this place focuses more on squeezing extra dollars out of customers than actually delivering a good dining experience. Plenty of better options out there. I wouldn’t recommend it.
For the prices they charge, you’d expect a great experience. Instead, it felt rushed, disorganized, and overpriced. The portions didn’t justify the cost, and the constant extra fees made the final bill unreasonable. There’s nothing worse than leaving a restaurant feeling like you overpaid for a mediocre experience. Definitely not worth it.
If you are looking for a persian style kabob stay away from there, their kabob and shish kabob wasn't tasty at all no seasoning... the kabob wasn't juicy it was dry and hard to chew. Atmosphere needed a jazz or calm music. Service was good. No spoon for rice, you have to eat your rice with fork.
KEBAB QUALITY IS GARBAGE. STAY AWAY. Ordered a koobideh and the meat quality is terrible and kebabs are hard to chew. The meat seems to be a mix of something with meat Wich tastes like cardboard and extremely hard to chew. This is not the quality you serve to your customers and call it kebab. Also tomatos are burnt and dried which is a negative point again. After calling the manager he is not offering to refund the money and says leave a review of you want to. This is the lowest food quality or customer service I've seen in years.
Alright guys this is gonna be a long one so sorry in advance. I called to place my order at 11:22 a.m. and was told it would take about 15 minutes to make. I explained that I was in a rush and asked if they could do it in 10 minutes — they said no, so I agreed to wait the 15. I arrived about 15–17 minutes later, only to be told it would take another 5–10 minutes. I couldn’t wait that long, but I still paid for my food and had a friend pick it up later. When I called back to ask why I was told 15 minutes when it actually took 20–25, the person I spoke with didn’t apologize or take any accountability. Instead, he told me I came early and that the order had only been placed 12 minutes ago, which isn’t accurate since I called at 11:22. He also admitted he guessed the extra time without checking with the kitchen. Mistakes happen — but what really bothered me was the lack of apology or ownership. A simple “sorry for the wait” would have gone a long way. Instead, I was told “your order’s ready now,” which wasn’t helpful since I’d already left. I rarely leave long reviews, but my gosh, is this annoying and the dismissive attitude and poor communication made this a frustrating experience especially when you’re starving. Anyway, anyways, sorry it was so long but the way to handle it was really annoying and rude. Ps: my friend sent me a picture of the food, and the protein portion is low lol.

This place has serious issues with both service and transparency. From the beginning, nothing felt clear or straightforward. Charges kept appearing on the bill for things that were never clearly explained upfront. It honestly feels like they look for every possible way to add extra fees for the smallest things. On top of that, the food quality did not justify the pricing at all. For what they charge, you expect fresh, well-prepared dishes. Instead, the food was mediocre at best — bland, poorly executed, and nowhere near worth the inflated cost. When service is already disorganized and full of mistakes, the least you expect is honesty in pricing. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. Between the weak food quality, lack of transparency, and unnecessary extra charges, this was a very disappointing experience. I won’t be coming back.
Extremely disappointed with my experience at Salt and Olive. The service was honestly terrible. The person who took our order made mistakes not once, not twice, but three separate times. It felt careless and unprofessional. On top of that, the pricing is out of control. There are extra fees added to almost every single item, which makes the final bill much higher than expected. Even more surprising, they mention “complimentary water” as if that’s something special — water is free everywhere. Advertising it like a perk while charging extra fees everywhere else feels misleading. Overall, poor service and questionable pricing practices. Definitely not worth it.
