Tip: If you like spicy food, try the chicken vindaloo extra spicy. Be careful when ordering curry because even the medium spice level can be quite hot.

The food and service for both very good. I like to try different Indian restaurants when I travel and this one didn't disappoint.
The food was delicious and the garlic naan was exceptional. Generous portions and plenty of meat in each...we did 2 chicken dishes and lamb, which was tender and succulent. Also did a wonderful chickpea and potato stuffed appetizer. I had to try the Indian tea...it was floral and delicious. Service was pleasant and helpful. Check this place out!!
My husband and I love coming to this restaurant. It’s one of our favorites in this area. Always treated well and the food is amazing. Our favorite dishes include the Chicken 65 appetizer, Methi Malai Chicken, and Chicken Biryani. But everything we’ve gotten had been good there. Also get the garlic naan. Highly recommend this place.
Great find in the lower Hill Country/Guadalupe valley! Excellent menu for people new to Indian food and for more discriminating tastes. Staff is nice and helpful. The saag, tikka masala, traditional curry and tandoori dishes are all really good, but the garlic naan steals the show - order it with everything! I also enjoyed the chicken biryani - sort of a fragrant fried rice dish. This place has become our go-to, even with all the great little cafes and diners in the area.
My best friend and I came by for lunch on Sunday. I love Indian food and am so excited we have a place to get some in bulverde now! I used to only get Indian food when going to Trader Joe’s in San Antonio. Food is a little pricey, but I think it’s worth it as I have lots of leftovers to eat! We got both the Chana masala and the tikka masala. Both were delicious and we got some naan to go with it! The vegetable samosas were delicious, and I’m hooked on them! I will definitely be coming back. The restaurant was a little quiet, would’ve been nice if there was a tv on or some music but also understand that’s not a necessity! Overall I’m super happy with the food, and it came out quickly and was delicious. Some of our refills took a little bit to get but we’re also weak white people and slightly overhyped our spice tolerance.
We finally had lunch here today and were not disappointed. The food offerings are authentic, generous, and tasty! We shared orders of the chicken korma and the chicken 65 biryani. You can select spice level from American (zero) to extra spicy. I ordered medium for the chicken 65 and it was perfect. We plan to work our way through the menu, which includes many varieties of meat and vegetarian curries, regional dishes, plus tandoori. A great and much-needed addition to the restaurant scene in BSB area!
The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Springbranch, TX with atypical furnishings. The staff are very friendly and willing to share their knowledge of the menu. We started with Pakora and it was a decent portion but loosely combined which made the handling a little tricky. It came with one dipping sauce. Tasty all the same. Next came the Traditional chicken curry, medium heat for me. My wife had the Saag which she says was very flavorful and not too hot, as is her want. The Trad chicken curry was excellent other than maybe could have done with a couple of hours more on low heat. I felt the raw herbs needed a little more cooking. The chicken chunks/cubes were the biggest I've ever seen and for my liking, should've been half the size. Rice was perfect. All said and done, a fine meal for the price and we will be back.
Food was delicious!!! I love the amount of vegetarian dishes to choose from. The service was pretty quick, but the employees I saw looked like they would rather be anywhere but there. They were nice and polite, though. It was just the vibe. I live in New Braunfels and we will definitely make more trips to eat here.
If you like hot, they can turn it up a couple of notches with their curry. I recommend the garlic Naan as it's more tastier than the butter Naan. The food is excellent.
Despite some initial negative impressions circulating due to a rocky soft opening, our first visit to this establishment was nothing short of spectacular! Each dish was expertly seasoned, flavorful, yet not overly salty, showing a commendable mastery of balance in the kitchen. In addition, the service was top-tier. Our needs were anticipated and met with professionalism and a warm, welcoming attitude. It's evident that this place has overcome its initial hurdles and has risen to provide an excellent dining experience. Highly recommended!
Taj Mahal, thank you for a wonderful meal! We *love* Indian food and were apprehensive coming here--didn't know what to expect. The first bite of butter chicken let me know this was going to be good. :) Items ordered: Butter Chicken, Cauliflower/Potato Curry, Garlic Naan. Extra props for the "ornate" curry plating. If you want Indian food, this is the place. We will be back for more!
This was my first experience at Taj Mahal, and the food was delicious! I will definitely return to try other dishes on the menu. The service was also great. I gave it a 4-star rating for atmosphere only because it was so quiet and I would have enjoyed some background music.
We got chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, vegetable samosas, and garlic naan. The taste of everything was INCREDIBLE! Truly the best Indian food I’ve had in a long long time, and well worth the wait for this restaurant to open. Lots of flavor and the perfect amount of spicy. We will definitely come back. However, despite ordering two entrees, we only received enough rice for one. Unsure if this was an oversight, or if it was the standard amount of rice they give to customers. It was insufficient for both meals, which was disappointing. If the one container of rice was intentional, I hope the restaurant reconsiders the amount given for take out orders.
It was great. They have different spice levels to cater to each person's spice preference. The food had great flavor and is probably now one of my top choices for Indian food with in a 100 mile radius of me. I will definitely be returning!
I can’t tell you how many times we’ve eaten this food since discovering it less than a month ago. The Butter Chicken and Naan are incredible! They are so kind, the service is amazing, dining in is great, to-go is packaged well. This place is great. Try it! (The kids butter rice wasn’t too great. But Butter Chicken is perfect for 4 of my children to split.)
I have been searching all over San Antonio for good authentic Indian food. I have been spoiled in the past by living in Houston and even more so by friends Phani and Ravi for cooking me authentic Indian food. This place has never disappointed in the quality of food! I came back two days in a row after my first visit I loved it so much. It’s super yummy and I will continue coming back here :)
This was some of the best and most authentic Indian food I've ever tried. They're definitely not shy on flavor and spices! The chef personally greeted us at the end, and we all enthusiastically thanked him for such a tasty meal. The garlic naan is a must! It's not always easy to find lamb and goat options, but this place has you covered, along with plenty of vegetarian options as well. A bit pricey, but the food is worth it. I had the Gobi Majestic, but sampled everyone else's. Every dish tasted unique and robust.
I lived in Australia for about 6 years and came to love Indian food as there was a small shop down the street from where I lived. I haven’t been able to find anything in the 15 years since that reminded me of there until now. I had the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala and both were excellent. The garlic naan was good as well and rice was as it should be: not sticky and perfect match for the curry. Got takeout this time, but will have to come back again to dine in. Will definitely return! 😋
It’s nice to have authentic Indian restaurant in Bulverde. The Naan bread was fantastic We had Spinach and Onion Pakora, Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer. All dishes were well prepared.
First time ever trying Indian food. My wife and I ordered a variety of items to give it a fair experience. Some was great, some not, but that's just because I am a meat and potatoes type of person. I would definitely try this place again. Service was great. Atmosphere was better than I had expected in a strip mall. A bit pricey but isn't everything?
Had a good lunch today at this Indian Restaurant. Food was authentic. No buffet though. We liked the appetizers. The lam/pepper dish was great. Chicken masala delicious. Garlic naan was perfect. Would come again!!
Got brave and tried the Taj Mahal restaurant connected to Thai Lao Orchid. My “zero spice” mushroom masala was still spicy to this wimpy girl and my husband’s “medium spice” chicken curry got his nose running and woke up his hair follicles according to him. That rice was amazing and the garlic naan calmed my taste buds back down. Altogether it was delicious and I loved the bowls. We’ll be back.
The first time here and the service was great and the and the food was good. Be careful ordering the curry because the medium still has quite a bit of heat. This restaurant is actually owned by the same owner that owns the Thai restaurant next door, so you can actually come in and order Indian food or Thai food. Prices are a little bit on the high side for supper but no different than most places. Will definitely return
My husband and I were so excited to have an Indian restaurant so close to home. After we ate there, we were even more excited. The food was absolutely delicious, as in not letting even the tiniest bit of sauce, go to waste. I understand the first week was a bit rough with a chef that didn’t live up to expectations. The restaurant closed down for a week and re-opened with a different chef—two of them, in fact— revamped the menu, and did some rearranging. So please don’t be influenced by any negative reviews from their first week. My husband and I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to, and we’ve been to more than our fair share. As it’s so close to home, it will become our go-to for Indian food. In fact, we’ve already decided to work our way through the menu, though the mango curry chicken and korma chicken were excellent first choices. When you go, be sure to order some naan. You will need it to sop up the very last of the delicious sauce.
First experience here. Not my first Indian food experience. Absolutely fantastic food!!! We had Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. Slice level 3. The Naan was extremely good!! Finished with a Taro Bobba Tea. God bless! So dang tasty! Probably the best Indian food I’ve had in the states. (I’ve been to India). We will make this a monthly dinner out!
The traditional curry with lamb tantalized my taste buds. The taste of the Garlic Nam dipped into curry exceeded my expectations. All I can say is that my wife and I can't wait to go again to try other dishes. My wife got the shrimp in a butter sauce with a tomato base. It too was fantastic. The service was excellent as well. The food was piping hot.
Came here for the soft opening and was very impressed. The food was hands down some of the best Indian food I've ever had! I had Chana Masala which was so flavorful and the naan bread was cooked perfectly too. Looking forward to the grand opening, which they said is in July.
We tried two different curry sauces that were served with basmati rice. Both were good but the red sauce (tiki masala) with chicken was better, more flavorful. The green sauce was korma. Would order the tiki masala dish again. We tried garlic naan and butter naan, both were good. I would prefer the garlic naan to have butter rather than oil for better flavor. Note: same owner for both the indian and thai restaurants but with separate kitchens.
The food is amazing! We had been so excited for this place to open up and tried them the first week they opened. It was just okay. BUT NOW ITS AMAZING! We heard they got a new chef. So glad we gave them a second chance! We have eaten at several Indian restaurants in San Antonio and Austin and this is our new fav! Glad to have them in Bulverde.
This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. It's definitely authentic cuisine and by far the best Indian food I've found so far in Texas. I got the chicken vindaloo (extra spicy) and it's perfect if you like spicy food. Very intense rich flavour. The naan bread is crispy and thin which I love as well. The curry comes with a side of rice. Definitely consider the chicken vindaloo if you come here.
Fantastic ambience, great food and amazing service. And this naan is definitely prepared fresh.

I don’t know what magician is making this food because I tend to get delivery, but I’m eternally grateful that they are sharing their gift with the world. It’s like going from a world of black and white, to a world of color, but for your taste buds. The flavors are phenomenal and the spice level is perfection! My only regret is that I have to share it with my husband… :)
My wife and I love Indian food. When we moved here we were pleasantly surprised that this best kept secret was in town and so close. At first, on a Saturday night, it wasn’t very busy in fact i was unsure if they were open. They indeed were. The place is very clean and tidy. We ordered beef samosas that came out perfect. I had the chicken tikka masala (hey i know what i like) and my wife had the chicken mughlai. By far this was the best we’ve ever had. We’re coming back and cannot say enough. I should also mention that throughout the meal there were several people coming and grabbing takeout. Dine in this place Spring Branch, you won’t be disappointed!
10/10 I absolutely love this place! Been coming here at least once a month for the past 6 months. They have the sweetest staff and the authentic Indian food is amazing. Each time I go there I find a new favorite dish!
wow we are so lucky to have such delicious indian food. i have been CRAVING a spot like this. the people are SO nice and kind and the food is so comforting. LOVE this place

Happy to find Indian food closer than San Antonio. My husband enjoyed the goat curry. I had hariyali chicken Tikka, which was new to me. Was not expecting it to be green and served on a bed of shredded cabbage, carrots, and bell peppers. It's white meat. It tasted fine, but was very dry (overcooked). The garlic naan was good and the cheese naan was OK.
I ordered vegetable samosas, chicken biriyani, hariyali chicken tikka, daal makhani, and garlic naan for take out. It’s all very good but the mild is not mild. I like some space but mild shouldn’t be this hot. Also, the portion sizes are tiny for how much it costs. The hariyali chicken was $16 but I got 7 little chunks of chicken with some cabbage.
Ate lamb biryani and a chicken vindaloo. Also a vegetable samosa. Service was very good. Sadly, the road construction in front very disruptive to entry and exit from parking lot.
It's a fun place, 2 restaurants but only 1 owner. So you can order Indian, Lao, Thai, and Vietnamese food at one place. We order several appetizers and some was good, some was ok. But I love the many options in the menu, and will come back if we in the neighborhood again.

Food was good but service was not. My husband ordered soup, appetizer and a lamb dish. I ordered chicken curry. We were asked and added garlic naan. All items ordered by my husband came out together including entree. He was almost done with his meal when the naan arrived. He literally had 3 bites of his lamb dish left when they brought my entree. Would I dine there again? Yes, but staff needs to be aware of needed improvements to service.
The person who took our phone order for take out did a fine job and was polite. Our food was hot and ready on time. My husband and I ordered two chicken korma and one plain naan. The chicken was tender, but we both thought that the korma needed more coconut. My husband also thought that it needed a little less spice, and that the sauce and naan were a little too thick. (He has more experience with Indian cuisine than I do.) I would probably try them again to see what other dishes are like.
I like Indian food and was excited to see we had a new place close. I was not extremely happy the few times I have ordered there now. The quality does not match up with the price. It is connected to a Thai restaurant that has been there for a while now. Both restaurants are very casual and not for fancy dining. I found it hard to converse with the staff in asking about the dishes. Perhaps more pictures of the food would help with that.
I've got to say I was looking forward to coming here. Being a Brit in Texas, good curries and Thai food can be hard to come by. As a young family we always try to give our kids variety and choice our son loves sushi and as a vegetarian he got the cucumber roll which he enjoyed. But that was the only dish that was enjoyable out for 4 and 2 sides. My korma curry was the worst I've tasted in all my travels. The vegetarian Pad Thai my Daughter got was smothered in peanuts and far too sweet, she didn't eat it at all. The 4 pieces of poppadoms for $4 my son ate were only half poppadoms and when I questioned the server she said 4 pieces not whole ones. We may have just got a bad day but it has questioned us ever going back.
We arrived at approximately 8:05 p.m. the restaurant closes at 9:00 we were greeted at the door on the Indian side of the restaurant and asked if we came for Indian food we told them we did indeed come for Indian food and they told us the kitchen had already cleaned up and they'd need to check with the chef they came back and asked us to stay seated they would serve us we told them we could come back another time but they insisted we stay we ordered the chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken and a two-piece vegetarian samosa the food was mid High tasty but the rice was broken apart and gummy the presentation Was mid to low No Fresh garnish Or vegetables provided When we asked for a side of naan bread they said they were out of Bread this looks like a family-run business and I truly hope they are successful but in order to be successful you need to be open and ready to serve your clients with enthusiasm while the restaurant was clean the food portions were rather small for the prices we ended up paying a total of 50 bucks we both left feeling somewhat dejected as the entire dinner it seemed as if we were not wanted there as people were hustling around us cleaning and preparing to clothes shop when we finally finished our meal at around 8:35 p.m. we had to get up from our table and find someone to check us out after a few people and some discussions they figured out what our order was and we were able to close our table and leave this was a subpar experience at best we probably should have known better as we were the only people in either side of the restaurant both the Indian and the Thai restaurants were empty
Worst lamb ever. Got the lamb kabob. The only good part was the naan that came with it. Driest lamb I have ever had. I choked down half and didn’t even bother to bring the rest home to my dog. Left hungry. When asked how the food was I left them know the lamb was very dry and asked it that was how it usually was served. After talking with the chef the server left me know that was not usually the case. It “must have been down low in the clay oven too long.” There was no offer to discount my meal. I was told “it will be better next time.” Trust me, there will be no “next time”.
