Tokyo Mizu, formerly Take a Bao, offers a great AYCE experience with fresh sushi and a wide variety of options. The service is generally excellent, with special mentions for Burlyn, Maggie and Carolina. Some reviewers found the ramen and certain rolls lacking flavor.

Visiting the area and was near our hotel. The sushi cooked/raw options were delicious. We enjoyed the shrimp shumai, ragoons, and agedashi tofu. The shrimp ramen did lack flavor which led us to not order anymore entrees though. The crawfish sushi roll was good but just had too many onions. Could definitely go without the onions and mushrooms but thought it was nice try something different. Service was wonderful food came out fast, hot and fresh! We’ve already recommended to local family members. Great for date nights. $32 all you can eat pp
I stopped by Tokyo Mizu recently and was really impressed. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Service was quick and friendly. We barely had to wait for my food. The sushi was definitely a highlight. The salmon nigiri was buttery and fresh, and the yellowtail had that clean, delicate flavor that just melts in your mouth. I also tried the beef bulgogi bao bun and it was super flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Overall, Tokyo Mizu is a spot I’d happily come back to. Great food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Also, wanted to mention our server Carolina was wonderful. If you’re able to get her as your server she’ll not let you down.
This place is good. Decent price. Good quality. No need to dress up. I would consider this place a week late lunch or dinner atmosphere. This is my second time visiting and I have nothing bad to say.
A great price for AYCE, great food, great service. The rolls I tried were delicious and it was nice to see the hold overs from take a bao (love the bulgogi). Carolina was such a sweet server and always kept our table clear. Can't wait to go back to try more!
Great place. Can do all you can eat or a la carte. Chose the all you can eat and the food was fresh, fast and so good.
After a great day at the local waterpark, my spouse and I decided to be spontaneous and try a spot we’ve never dined at before for a mid-afternoon lunch. We literally drove by, and immediately pulled in out of curiosity due to its relatively lowkey curb appeal. Inside, we were enthusiastically greeted by the co-owner and his friendly staff. The place is huge and immaculately clean. Our server was incredibly friendly, personable and made sure we understood the concept of ‘all you can eat from the menu.’ The vibe I got was Japanese-Korean-Taiwanese fusion and because of this, we wanted to try a little bit of everything. Sushi rolls, grilled mussels, sushi salad, crab rangoon, EVERY single dish we tried was piping hot, fresh and absolutely delicious. The portions were also perfectly sized so that you can share and try as much as you can off of the menu, (within reason of course.) And the Watermelon Fresca cocktail was delightfully refreshing and tasty. We will definitely be returning soon!
Wow... this place is AMAZING!! I would love to give more stars if I could! We got the all you can eat, which is NOT a buffet but you order your food and they make it as you order it. Everything was simply amazing 👏 🤩 the flavor, the presentation and the quality. I am very much impressed, I am not from the area but I assure you that I will definitely be coming back. This place should be famous! The best part is that all the food only cost $20!!!!!!!!!
Great first experience! 🌟 Friendly service. We saw other comments regarding portion sizes, but they were larger than at others. 🍽 Dining mid-week, with no major events was helpful...not busy at all! While this is all-you-can-eat, they offer an al a carte option. There's plenty of parking. 🅿️
Best Japanese restaurant i try and is all u can eat omg incredible and the best part my son is very happy 😁
Fresh and delicious handrolled sushi. We samples almost everything from the menu. They have a variety of traditional Japanese appetizers like takoyaki (fried octopus balls) and bao buns (white fluffy dumpling bread topped with beef and cilantro - my husband joked that it was a Japanese taco).. They also have some items that reflect their Texas location. They have fried stuffed jalapenos. The tempora calimari was large and fresh. We had so many different types of sushi rolls that I can't even name them all. Everything was good. I remember the Volcano rolls were tasty, but messy. I was eating so fast, I didn't get any pictures. My 11 yr old son at a dozen eel sashimi on his own. It was his favorite thing in the menu. My husband and I killed two bowls of sashimi. I enjoyed it all, but the smoked salmon was particularly tasty. The sashimi is served on a bed of ice with a fresh lemon wedges. The wait staff was amazing. We sent in order after order after order and he was prompt and friendly throughout it all. He kept my water full and I was thirsty after a long day walking around the nearby amusement park. My husband ended the meal with the creme brulee. They have tiramisu, ice cream, and a few other dessert options. If you have a friend that you would like to turn on to Japanese-American cuisine, this would be the place to go. The all-you-can-eat option allows for exploration. This setup allows for ordering small quantities of a menu item to decrease waste and get a taste of everything that would be too cost prohibitive if buying a la carte. We loved it. We left full. It was a good experience. Perfect for my family.
Tokyo Miz is a fantastic dining spot! The place is beautiful and impeccably clean, creating a wonderful dining atmosphere. The customer service is extremely appreciative and attentive, making you feel very welcomed. The shrimp fried rice is delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The sushi is amazing and incredibly fresh, making it a must-try. Overall, Tokyo Miz offers an excellent dining experience!
Had my first experience at Tokyo Mizu and I’m already planning my next visit! From the moment we walked in, our waitress Burlyn made us feel so welcome, I so appreciated it! If every restaurant had a “Burlyn” dining out would be a dream. She was warm, attentive, and just an absolute pleasure to be around. The sushi? Delicious. For just $19.99, the all-you-can-eat deal is a total steal. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. My personal favorites were the Salmon Lover, Hasu, and the Crawfish Dynamite each roll packed with flavor and overall delicious! I also tried the Butterfly Infusion Tea with mango and strawberry. It was sweet, refreshing, and super addicting (though fair warning, it might be a tad sweet for some, but it hit the spot for me). All in all, Tokyo Mizu just made it onto my list of go-to sushi spots. Great food, amazing service, and unbeatable value!
I was recommended this place by family who’ve have gone here multiple times since it’s opened! I had an outstanding experience at Tokyo Mizu in Arlington, Texas—definitely a 5/5 star experience across the board! The food was exceptional, with fresh, high-quality sashimi and fish that were made to order. Each dish was delicious, with perfectly sized portions that made it easy to enjoy multiple rounds (we ended up ordering FIVE!). The sushi and mantou were on par with what I've had in Asia—authentic and flavorful. Every bite was a delight, and you could really taste the care and quality in each dish. The service was equally impressive. We arrived around 5pm on a Friday, before the dinner rush, and were promptly seated. The staff was quick, attentive, and responsive to our needs. A special shoutout to Brittany for taking exceptional care of us—she was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our experience feel personal and welcoming. Her service definitely added to the overall great experience. The ambience was the perfect complement to the meal. The space is filled with beautiful Japanese artwork and aesthetic touches, from floral designs to elegant decor, creating a cozy, homey atmosphere. The vibe was warm, pleasant, and had a cheerful energy that made us feel right at home. It’s a place where you can truly relax and enjoy your meal. Overall, Tokyo Mizu is a must-visit in Arlington. The combination of top-notch food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout spot. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Very cute place, and it's a good price for AYCE. Some of the best crab ragoons I ever had. Dumplings were pretty good (the potstickers seemed to have muted flavors). The cooked sushi was amazing! And the soba noodles were pretty good too. The ramen should be absolutely avoided. No flavor, overcooked noodles, overcooked eggs. Dessert was really good! My husband had the veggies from the spring roll and the ramen removed. His personal preference. Will 100% be back!

This place felt like I was in sushi heaven. They have plenty of sides to choose from. You get to pick 5 items from the menu every time you order, and you can order as many times as you like, until you're full. I totally recommend especially the Ahi tower from the appetizers because that house sauce served with it tasted sublime. Plus it also came with some caviar. They have such a huge selection of sushi rolls to choose from that I was truly spoilt for choice. Plus, I might have been almost full already from the appetizers, lol. The staff were so friendly and helped me through the menu so I felt like I understood what I was ordering every time. The ambiance felt serene with nice music in the background, so I can guarantee you whether solo or in a group, it will feel great just to be in this place. All in all, I totally see myself returning many times, so I totally recommend this place!

Loveee this place!!! service and food was greatttttttt as well as presentation :) only thing that was subpar was the crème brûlée. :( but everything was amazing and I can’t waitttttt to go back !!
This place is an absolute gem! The food is outstanding—seriously some of the best I've had. The soba noodles are hands-down the star of the show: perfectly chewy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection every time. Whether hot or cold, they're incredibly satisfying and make you want to come back for more right away. What really sets this restaurant apart, though, is the incredible heart behind it. The owner and partners are genuinely kind, welcoming people who go out of their way to create an inclusive, positive environment. They treat their employees like family, and it's especially heartwarming to see how supportive and friendly they are to their disabled workers, giving them meaningful opportunities, respect, and encouragement every day. You can feel the good energy from the moment you walk in; the whole team is happy, hardworking, and it shows in the service and the vibe.If you're looking for delicious authentic soba (or other dishes) in a place that truly cares about people, this is it. Highly recommend—I'll be back often! Thank you for everything you do!
Can't wait to come back! The staff was very friendly. I have to commend Maggie for her great service. We were worried that we were ordering too fast but she got everything and even advised us. As far as what I would recommend, there are so many delicious things. The bulgogi bao, chicken karaage, caterpillar roll, and salmon roll were my favorites for the main portions. For extras, the raspberry butterfly tea, the coffee (or mango, if you prefer) mousse cake, and fried mantou were all delicious. The ranger roll was barbeque-y which was surprising but worked very well; just watch out if you have a poor spice tolerance. The only dish I didn't love was the croquettes only because I was expecting them to be saltier and it turns out I don't really like katsu sauce, which is on me.

Tokyo Mizu is a great place to eat. The staff at the desk and the waiters/ waitresses are awesome. The all you can eat was amazing. I tried so many different things and each dish was really good. Can't wait to go back!
Had a wonderful experience. Everything was delicious and we’ll definitely be coming back. Reading the reviews about small portions. I’ve gone to plenty of ayce and feel like this was no different. I actually prefer the portions not be huge so you are able to try more without getting too full. I also feel like the staff were great and the atmosphere was very nice
This is an all-you-can-eat place. We were told that we can order anything from both sides of the menu, but they come in smaller portions. Our waitress brings everything to our table after we order it. She was great at explaining the process. I ordered Miso Soup, Fish Salad, Shrimp Spring Roll, Japanese Croquette, and several rolls like Salmon Skin Roll, Alaskan Roll, Tokyo Mizu Roll, Volcano Roll, and others. Overall, I really enjoyed everything. It's nice to try so much for $19.99. The only issue I had was that the Spring Roll skin was so sticky and it was hard to eat it because it was tearing apart due to sticking to the other half.

My family and I wanted to try an AYCE sushi without having to drive all the way to Japan House. I thought that the sunshine roll, dancing eel, and crazy salmon roll was super yummy and not a lot of rice! Their tokyo mizu roll is not that good. For a roll thats the name of the restaurant, the presentation was pretty low. What I thought was weird was that my ice cream was a little discolored? I realized that they pre-scooped the ice cream because in the picture I'm holding the bowl almost 90°/vertical and not even the bottom is moving. If the ice cream was fresh, the melted ice cream would pool towards the bottom, but it's still frozen! If the fish isn't that fresh, I at least wanted fresh ice cream! :c Their fried montou bread was good though. The service was great and the rolls were good, but the food just wasn't fresh. I may come back, but only for lunch because the AYCE dinner is not worth it.
Had lunch here, it wasn't too busy as more than half the restaurant was empty. Four to five were at the hostess stand, they confused as how to seat an odd number of people. Not where, based on waiter/waitress availability but one of the girls asked the guy at the bar & he told her where to seat us but that as just needed the five place settings/menus for our party of five. Food was okay. I totally understand the small plates, for an AYCE it prevents the waste of food for those who may be over indulgent or leave half eaten dishes due to not liking but wiling to try. - Buns were good, but they were out of the pork belly one. - Ramen was bland, the egg was overcooked. - Calamari, was good but some calamari plates were more salty than others. A nice serving size without skimping on calamari. - Potato croquette, nice crunch! - Various sushi, it was fine. - Fried rice was good, they were accommodating in making one with no vegetables for our picky eater. - Chicken karage... slightly overcooked. Our waitress seemed to be the only one on our side of the restaurant, she had about four or five tables maybe, other staff members did help being out the food. That being said I had to ask for a water refill three times, only got a refill once. I don't believe it's her fault, she just needed more help. Dishes come out hot, fresh, & fast. I do appreciate that the oil isn't dirty/overused for fried items. They were a light golden brown with a nice crunch & the batter stays on. Still needs improvement for staff support & training but I do want to say that everyone was extremely pleasant. The interior is beautiful inside & the price is fair. We may come back in a few months to try again.

First, the host at the front desk had a very poor attitude, which immediately set a negative tone. That said, our waitress was excellent, cheerful, patient, and very helpful when explaining the menu. She truly made the experience better. The menu has a wide variety, and overall the food quality was good. The tuna was fresh, the sushi rolls and rice were fresh, and the beef and pork belly buns were delicious—the meat was flavorful even though the buns were served cold. The crème brûlée was outstanding, easily one of the highlights of the meal. The main issue was that some ingredients had a strong refrigerator taste, particularly the avocado and pico de gallo used in certain items. Because of that, some dishes didn’t taste as fresh as they should have. I’d strongly suggest storing foods properly covered in the refrigerator to avoid this. One additional note: the tables were cleaned with Pine-Sol, which was very noticeable. Personally, I’m not a fan of that scent in a restaurant environment I prefer more neutral sanitizers like bleach, but that’s just my opinion. Overall, there’s good food here and real potential, but front-of-house attitude and food storage practices need improvement. With those fixes, this place could be much better.

Service: 4/5 We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were seated fairly quickly for a Thursday night dinner. Our server was great and efficient. However, we did have to ask for drink refills a couple of times. Ambiance: 4/5 The inside of the restaurant kind of reminds me of Japan House, but much nicer. However, the restroom was dirty, which was disappointing. Food: 2/5 I appreciate that they served the sashimi on top of a bed of ice because not many places do that anymore. I just wish they had placed it on top of a shiso leaf so the sashimi wouldn't get wet. The fish did not taste as fresh as I had hoped. Unfortunately, none of the appetizers left an impression. Overall, everything I ate was very underwhelming. I don't think I will be coming back.
