What a wonderful discovery thanks to great reviews! We were warmly greeted and this place has a lovely, calm , relaxing atmosphere. Wait staff are friendly and very efficient and the food is fantastic! Goat cheese crostini, misto salad, beef cheek lasagna, flounder, honey cake, affogato, and house red! If you have not been, book a table and pay them a visit. All fresh and cooked to order so sit back and relax and enjoy the experience. Simply wonderful and highly recommended!

Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this place is a small delight! Excellent service, atmosphere, drinks and, most importantly.. amazing FOOD. We went with the specials (short ribs and black cod) and we need to come back for the lasagna. We also had the Brussel sprouts (so tasty and crispy) and they also brought us fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic oil - classic and yummy. We ended up getting the highly recommended honey cake which was light and delicious - a great ending to a big meal.

The service and food were stellar - thank you Schaffer for making our first experience at Bettola so good and memorable! The specials were fantastic (lasagna and sea bass) the bruschetta one of the best I've ever had, and the limecello drink so tasty it was dangerous. It's a hole in the wall bistro (as their signage says) but absolutely where you should come for Italian well done and an intimate dinner setting with great service. My husband and I can't wait to come back.

Amazing food and outstanding service! The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. Everything I ordered today was so delicious that I barely had time to snap a photo before diving in. A special thank you for the complimentary treat from the chef for our little one, it was such a sweet gesture. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Very unassuming location but the food is absolutely INCREDIBLE and the service was great too! We had the beef lasagna (special of the evening), the shrimp scampi and honey cake with chocolate gelato for dessert. The shrimp scampi is probably the best I’ve ever had and will be needing to order it again. The sauce was so flavorful!!!! And the honey cake was sooo soft and fluffy and light, the perfect way to end the meal! We will be back!!

I had pretty low expectations for this hole in the wall Italian restaurant at a strip mall in Aurora… but I was completely blown away! The service was excellent and the food was INCREDIBLE! The dish with pasta and scallops had the most amazing sauce and the scallops were perfectly cooked. If it was socially acceptable I would have licked the bowl clean! The honey cake was delightful, definitely some honey flavor but not too sweet with a light texture. Will definitely be coming back! #supportsmallbusiness

Went here for a company x-mas dinner party, after hearing about this place for a couple of years. It really is a hidden gem in an otherwise unflattering Aurora strip mall. I liked the atmosphere, small restaurant setting makes for good conversations. Very good wine selection and menu. I highly recommend stopping by.

Oh my Cod! Yes, cod because the black cod is amazing when they have it! Soooo glad to have stumbled on Bettola and can't recommend it enough! All the food is fresh and made to order. Have been a few times now and they never disappoint. Schafer (Tres) is the best! Such a great server and wonderful to talk to. Good selection of wine and great cocktails. Don't leave without trying the homemade lemon limoncello (lemon and/ or lime). They have easily become my favorite restaurant in the Denver area.

When we first stepped inside I was expecting exactly the name Bettola in Italian suggests “shady, trashy joint or hole” because of the location. However, walking in we were greeted by the bar manager and immediately felt how cozy and warm the place was with very few seating options which lured us to the bar as reservations filled the rest of the tables. I am so happy we did stay. You will not get a better experience if you don’t pick the barkeeps brain a little. Johnson is very experienced in his field and has incredible knowledge about so much in the industry. Just listen a while. Drinks that were recommended given our taste were hand crafted to perfection and never had I had such refreshing and delicate drinks that paired exceptionally with our meals. To start I ordered a Red 75 and with dessert a Lime Cello. The freshest bread at the perfect temperature was set in front of us alongside oil with balsamic vinegar. That alone felt like a delicacy. I requested the short rib lasagna special and the nostalgia in me was so happy I did. It truly felt like the moment the critic from ratatouille bit into the ratatouille and I was flooded with warm memories of my grandmother’s lasagna growing up. Chef is truly exceptional and has won me over the most upscale experience. Every single dish is hand crafted on order not scooped from a pan sitting under warmers. Dessert was an 8 layer honey cake that I have yet to stop thinking about, so much that they did say an entire cake can be prepared for sale if given a 3 day notice. Imagine cheesecake and honey teddy grahams it the most decadent way. I will be ordering a cake and I will be going back to just have that experience of a ‘welcome back’ conversation in a low lit, quaint, little hole-in-the-wall that makes me feel like I can lose track of time and escape away from the mundane the weeks carry.

Don't walk, run! This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in my 4 years of living here. Female chef deserves all the love, her dishes are 1000/10. Will come back time and time again! Thank you for being here, we love Bettola!

This is a special place. Small, in a strip mall and blew me away. The wine suggestion and bread were good, but the saffron risotto arrancini balls and arrabita entree were some of the best Italian food I've had. I will be dreaming of that lemon ricotta. Kind and passionate staff. Will be back.

An absolute GEM! The consistency of great food year after year. The amazing service! This is one of Colorado's best kept secrets and my favorite Italian restaurant. This is what perfection looks and tastes like 🙏🫶

Amazing! I absolutely love the ambiance. The service was excellent 👌 and the meal was delicious! Highly recommend.

I remember talking to one of the owners here. Very creative/quirky guy, love his passion for new ideas and you can see it in some of the pastas. Food overall was great, loved the pizzas. Would def come back for that. But the food took so long to come out! Maybe cause we had a bigger group, but waited almost an hour for main dishes to come out. Plus, the wine seems up-charged a lot from market price. But hey, what do I know. Don’t let that deter you from visiting!

Food was amazing! The staff was incredible, all very knowledgeable. It was a lovely little hole in the wall in Aurora. Walking in we were instantly blown away, the atmosphere took you way from the location and after having what turned out to be the best dinner I’ve ever had i forgot I was in a little strip mall in Aurora. I’ll definitely be coming back :)

Absolutely delightful hole in the wall bistro!!! Everything made from scratch! Mussels were to die for! Salmon pesto was succulent! And hose special was spinach stuffed ravioli with house ricotta, in a vodka sauce 😋 with their fresh greens!, My daughter enjoyed their signature award winning Limoncelo, and we enjoyed topping off the meal with a salted caramel chocolate Gelato. DECADENT.

Absolutely amazing, fresh and unique food that when I'm here makes me forget I'm in a strip mall in Aurora. And the front of house staff are amazing, fun, and knowledgeable and the chef even more so is amazing. Great for date night or they have a family friendly menu as well for fun for everyone, highly recommend the seafood, it's fresh and delicious which is hard to find in Colorado

What a hole in the wall. Amazing food, drinks, and services. We came here for our anniversary and we were treated by an awesome prosecco which we loved so much that we ordered a bottle afterwards. We ordered stuffed meatballs for appetizers and it was amazing!!! I ordered pan seared scallops pastra and my bf ordered shrimp scampi and they both turned out amazing good! Not too salty. Everything cooked to perfection. The restaurant is very small, only 8 tables for indoor and couple of tables outdoor. We ordered guava cheesecake and my bf was in love with it!!! The only thing that was so so was the bread. I didn't think it was made in house but I couldnt complain because I didn't care much for the bread. I still give this place a 5/5 because of food quality, presentation, tastes, and service! I would highly recommend this local restaurant if you're looking for some Italian restaurant to try! I cannot recommend enough. We definitely will be back!!!! Note: half price bottle of wine on Wednesdays!!!

Food, service, and atmosphere were all phenomenal. Went for dinner with my sister but will definitely be returning for a date night. The music and lights were low and made the small dining area feel cozy and comfortable. Very easy place to make conversation! Our waiter was attentive, helpful and really went the extra mile when we also placed orders for take out to bring home. The food was delicious, inventive, and beautifully plated.

This definitely is a hidden gem in Aurora. The outside patio and shrimp scampi was amazing 👏👏 The service was top notch and definitely a place to bring a date. Thank you Bettola Bistro for supporting your neighbors Elevated Spa. You are welcome for a relaxing time with us anytime 🙂

Cutest little experience while flying solo around town. You cannot find good halibut in Denver, but Bettola had an amazing dish paired with mushroom ravioli. Well done on the caramel gelato- must try! The jam on the burrata was awesome.

I almost don't want to tell you how good this place is, or I may never get seated. Absolutely outstanding food! Really recommend daily specials. I had Branzino, the sea bass on a bed of the creamiest risotto. Very relaxed environment, romantic setting and very attentive to our needs. What a great dining experience! Home made Limoncello! Great wines! Great people and great food.

Wow! I didn't expect to find such a nice restaurant in the area. The food was splendid, the service was first class, and the atmosphere was cozy. A reservation is required, so make sure to call ahead to reserve your table. This is a bit of a hidden gem. We'll be back!

My wife loves Italian -I HATE it. For V day this year I took her here on a recommendation. Upon rolling up, the wife asked “where are you taking me” I puckered up a bit wondering why I trusted my coworker and if this was a cruel joke. Once we walked in, everything changed! Amazing service, vibes, and food. TRY THE 100 layer honey cake! Best service we’ve ever had.

Creative. Delicious. Friendly, and informative. We went here on a whim...it had some good reviews so we took a chance. Oh my goodness...what a great experience. Josh was very friendly, sure, but knowledgeable and gave us insight into the menu. It feels like we had direct access to a culinary geniuses ideas. I had the special, a Lamb Ragu with black garlic, incredible. I'm not gifted enough to describe the subtle flavors in that dish. We finished it off with a Honeycake...a multilayered, light (yet somehow not) creamy honey cinnamon delicacy. I feel like we discovered a special place...somewhere we will talk about for a long time. I wish we lived close by to come back and try other things!

Wow, guys! Based on local reviews, we chose Bettola’s for great Italian and a small sized restaurant. I had the lamb ragù, which was rich, tasteful, and delicious. My husband had the pork saltimbocca, which had a touch of lemon and had a light and unique flavor. We opted to share a slice of honey cake because we were getting pretty full… but I’m so glad we did because the flavor of this dessert is sweet and light, just enough to balance out the cake layers. We had the privilege of being served by the sommelier and the pastry chef, both which provided lovely insight and commentary into some of the dishes that were made at Bettola. I haven’t even mentioned the roasted brussel sprouts with balsamic reduction, which was the star of the night. Wow. All in all, we agree that Bettola, the tiny little “dive” is definitely a 5-star worthy restaurant with delicious food, and wonderful service. We look forward to our next visit :) Thank you!

I’ve been going to Cody’s Cafe for years. This is the first time I’ve dined at Betolla Bistro. I enjoyed my creative version of a negroni. The granache wine was delicious. Note the generous amount of seafood in the fra diablo. I had scallops and linguini. Everything was tasty and beautifully presented. The portions were generous! We will definitely return.

Fabulous dinner, I enjoyed everything about the place and the food. We ate the goat cheese crostini, chicken Parmesan and the seafood diabolo. Everything was good quality, we’ll definitely be back. Because we didn’t have enough of it, even though we were so full from all the good food. Definitely check this place out.

We searched hard online for a nice authentic Italian restaurant for my Birthday and this one popped up near our home, it felt like a nice escape from reality and they treat you like gold. The food is amazing and service. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing quiet evening with amazing food. Also if you want something yummy to drink, they will help you find your best fit!

Wow this place from the outside you don’t expect it to be as nice as it is but when you walk inside you’re instantly greeted with great service and the vibe inside is so perfect . The food is amazing and I will be back . Definitely recommend . This place is awesome and I’ve been in the restaurant business 20 years and I know a great restaurant when I see one .

Some friends and I celebrated a significant life event with dinner at Bettola, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. We were immediately impressed by the blistered Brussels sprouts and bruschetta antipasti—both thoughtfully crafted and bursting with flavor. Along with perfectly tailored wine recommendations from an experienced sommelier, our main courses and desserts reflected the same care and pride. The scallops, in particular, were perfectly tender with a lovely char. In its smoothness, balance of burned honey and spices, the honey cake rivaled any number of similar tortes served in remaining authentic kitchens of Vienna. It was clear that the chef takes great pride in her work, showcasing creativity and a commitment to stellar dining experiences. The servers were knowledgeable and seemed genuinely engaged and proud to represent the interpretations and creativity of the talented chef behind the dishes. I certainly look forward to returning.

This place was phenomenal! True hidden gem! We made reservations for a birthday and when we arrived there was a little chalkboard note that said Happy Birthday on the table. It was such a lovely touch! Everything we ordered was wonderful. The wait was very knowledgeable and anticipated our needs well. Highly recommend trying it all and any specials they recommend. Drinks were also delightful. This is truly a high quality restaurant that you don’t want to miss!!

Outstanding Italian food and truly incredible service. We tried almost every appetizer — goat cheese crostini, Brussels sprouts, and mussels with the best garlic butter ever, beautiful home made cake with gelato — plus fantastic wine and a lasagna to die for. Amazing vibes, friendly staff, and a Lord of the Rings quote tucked into our wine cork that absolutely made our day. Can’t wait to come back in the spring for the outdoor patio.

I had an amazing dining experience here. Each course was thoughtfully prepared, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The highlight of my meal had to be the brussels sprouts - this is a must-try! The service was excellent, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend and will be returning!

I have been dreaming of this place since my first visit. This is the BEST Italian food in all of Colorado. Everything about the experience was phenomenal. Schafer Pennington (sp) set the tone with his warm and welcoming energy. The food is phenomenal, you can definitely tell the ingredients are fresh and every dish is made to order. The lamb ragu has made it hard to eat Italian food anywhere else. I loved everything we tried but that is definitely a stand out dish. I could go on and on…but honestly, just go. Lol

This is a surprisingly upscale place. The service was impeccable, the food was very very good, and the price was so damn good. We got a bottle of wine an entre and a appetizer, and it was 60 before tip. Couldn't believe it. Awesome date spot!

You must go. See Shafer and get the homemade limoncello, honey cake, and honestly any food. The bruschetta surprised me with how elevated it was. Excellent decision for your night out.

What a great restaurant in a small location! I stopped in on a Friday evening -reservations are a must for Fri & Sat as the secret is getting out! Cozy lighting, 8-10 tables and mouth watering aroma made the barstool inviting. The staff was so professional and worked together to meet the needs of all diners. Ohh oh the food... !Best Ceasar Salad in Denver! Garlicky, fresh Shrimp Scampi on linguine. But the dessert... I love bread pudding and have been known to drive miles for a takeout. Best Ever. In a Cab Sav reduction w fresh berries. Try it!

On a recommendation by a friend, my wife and I tried Bettola Bistro last night for dinner. Everything was pretty much perfect. I had the scallops, they were terrific. My wife had crunchy eggplant – I didn’t now eggplant could be crunchy. Now I wish I had taken photos of our dinners. Oh, and get this, our appetizer was garnished with cherry tomatoes and little greens from their garden in front of the restaurant. Our total bill was very competitive with many other similar restaurants.

L

The small vestibule is genius, for entering is a delight! And, the single woman owned "hole in the wall bistro" continues to deliver on every point. Aurora's little gem. Last night's diablo shellfish bowl with red snapper and wide linguine can be described as lush. I was forgiven for using my fingers.😋 I'll share about the debue of cocktail Smoked Vineyard, but then you'll have to hurry, for there's only one jar of grape leaves from the garden out front soaking in gin. Yadda, yadda, could go on and on. Perfect place for solo or date dining. Dimly lit, softly jazzy.

R
Rachel Ouellette

It was wonderful. The food was so scrumptious and well prepared. Our server warned us to order early and was super helpful so that all the dishes came out in a well-timed rhythm. He also clued us in to 1/2 price wine Wednesday. Everything we had was amazing. Highly recommend the lamb ragu, scallops, burratta, honey cake, and Gelato.

There are restaurants that I like, then there are restaurants that I love, but I don’t think Bettola can fall into either category. I’ve been going to Bettola for over 4 years, the experience, the taste, the atmosphere are all far beyond words to describe. There are restaurants you try and there are restaurants that you never forget and always return to, Bettola is that place you never forget and always return to. The coziest, intimate and elegant place you will find in Denver. The food is outstanding (that’s under rating it by far), whether you order off the menu or from the rotating specials (they never disappoint and you’ll regret if you miss out- especially if you like spicy flavor). The service and food are the experience. The wine and cocktails are the reason you stay a little bit longer. Yes it’s in a strip but honestly it’s the most quaint place you will find. Whether catching up with old friends or a date night- make your resy and go! It will not disappoint then stay for dessert. Trust me, it’s worth it, every time!

2022-02-12: Party of 4, with reservations. We arrived exactly at 6pm on a Saturday night and we hardly found a parking space. The doors to Betolla Bistro was closed. I called the restaurant and they told me that Betolla Bistro has combined with Cody's Cafe (just few doors down to the left of Betolla). We got seated right away. The facility was clean. Very simple. We were given 3 glasses of water. (There were 4 of us). We ordered 2 sodas right away.. There were 2 different QR menus (1 for Bettola and the other for Codys). The menu stated that the 1st round of bread was free. 4 pcs of bread was served right away but with very little bread-dipping oil. We were not able to finish the last piece because we run out of dipping oil. We also did not have any napkins, plates, and utensils. We had to ask for it when we asked for extra dipping oil. The lady, whom we asked for utensils, apologized. She gave us another round of bread and dipping oil with the utensils. A little past 7pm, our meals came. All of us enjoyed our food. A little more pasta would have been better. We finished our meals and our waitress asked if we would like to order desserts. We love creme Brule so we ordered that and a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. We have been warned though, that the cream Brule is not the normal cream Brule. Our waitress took both the soda glasses and never asked if we wanted refill. We all agreed that the Cream Brule and the cake needs improvement. 4 entrees, 2 sodas, 3 desserts, the bill came to $129 (before tip). Hope this help. Bon Appétit.

Dead Reckoning

Had decent expectations after reading the reviews, but I honestly didn’t enjoy any of the food we tried. The atmosphere and service were both sufficient for the price, but was pretty disappointed with the food. Maybe it was just an off night. Maybe it’s too Italian for my Americanized palette? It’s genuinely puzzling to me.
